$(NVDA)$ is a beast...no doubt...but Intel also diversified into many areas looking for growth, And then along came little 'ol $(AMD)$ and Lisa Su and a singularly focused modular product idea on how to drive up core counts, reduce power consumption, and increase yields. NVDA moving upstream might make them lose focus on the products that impact the bottom line.
