There are very few things you can invest your money in and see quick & large returns. Thanks to the pandemic in 2020, the retail investor base has increased in size. We're not just seeing a few new 'mom and pop investors,' we're seeing millions of new traders looking to make money in the stock market.
\n
But if you're new to this world of cheap shares, you may have a few questions like what are penny stocks & how can I make money with them? Keeping it simple, these stocks represent shares of companies trading for less than $5; that's it. Over the last year, the millions of new retail traders saw, first-hand, how big some of these \"cheap stocks\" can break out.
\n
On the one hand, you've got companies like GameStop (NYSE: GME), which traded below $3 a year ago and ended up reaching highs of more than $480 this year. Then you've got other companies like Zomedica (NYSE: ZOM), which cost less than a dime per share late last year and rallied just a few dollars to highs of $2.91 this year. Does a $2.85 move actually matter?
\n
When you're talking about penny stocks under $0.10, it sure does. It matters about 47 times the initial investment. ZOM stock moved 4,750% within just a few months. Even with the higher risk that penny stocks have, finding the best ones to follow can pay off.
\n
What Kind Of Penny Stocks Should You Watch?
\n
If you're putting together a list of penny stocks to watch, you might want to take a closer look at certain sectors and market trends. One thing I'm sure you'll find is that even if the broader S&P & Nasdaq are getting pummeled, there are usually at least a few biotech stocks climbing. That's typical of the industry.
\n
These companies are usually speculative in nature, especially when you're talking about smaller companies. Since the entire business model hinges on advancing treatment into commercialization, everything leading up to that point, including earnings, comes second to things like trial data.
\n
[Read More] 3 Penny Stocks To Buy Under $5 For Your April 2021 Watch List
\n
In fact, if you look at some of the top biotech penny stocks recently, while markets have sold off, many have weathered the storm well, thanks to key updates on trials. In fact, one example of this from Friday is CASI Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CASI). While markets were selling off during the morning session, CASI shares were climbing. Speculation on the formal closing of its latest public offering was the source of the move. What's more, analysts have supported a bullish stance on the company as well. In this case, the most recent rating comes from Oppenheimer, which also placed a $5 target on the company.
\n
I'm going to stick with this theme today and discuss a few more biotech penny stocks to watch that analysts have covered recently. A few could also have some fundamental catalysts to be on the lookout for. Will they be on your list this week?
\n
Biotech Penny Stocks To Watch
\n
\n
GT Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ: GTBP)
\n
AzurRx BioPharma Inc. (NASDAQ: AZRX)
\n
CTI BioPharma Corp. (NASDAQ: CTIC)
\n
Opko Health Inc. (NASDAQ: OPK)
\n
\n
GT Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ: GTBP)
\n
Analysts at Roth Capital recently weighed in on GT Biopharma in March. The firm gave a Buy rating and $25 price target on the penny stock. A few core developments related to the company's immunotherapy pipeline could be important to note in light of this latest sentiment from Roth.
\n
In particular, GT Biopharma has been developing a treatment platform, TriKE, indicated in numerous types of cancers. The company's lead asset, GTB-3550, is being investigated to treat high-risk myelodysplastic syndromes, refractory/relapsed AML or advanced systemic mastocytosis. Interim data has already shown promise. To date, 9 patients have been enrolled in the Phase I/II Expansion clinical trial. Early results have already shown a reduction in bone marrow blast levels and not showing any sign of toxicity.
\n
This month, GT announced preclinical results for another treatment candidate, its ROR1 TriKE(TM), as a prospective therapy for prostate cancer. GT explained that targeting ROR1 on cancer cells with TriKE(TM) and redirecting NK cells to attack and kill cancer cells expressing ROR1 could result in a treatment that limits the metastatic potential and invasiveness of certain solid tumors. Based on these results, the company said that it plans to evaluate this ROR1 TriKE in additional IND-enabling preclinical studies to transition to a Phase I/II clinical trial.
\n
All things considered, there've been a number of things that the market and analysts like Roth are taking into account when it comes to GT Biopharma in 2021.
\n

\n
AzurRx BioPharma Inc. (NASDAQ: AZRX)
\n
Another one of the biotech penny stocks to watch this week is AzurRX. Aside from analyst sentiment, which I'll discuss, this week could be pivotal for its treatment pipeline. In particular, AzurRx completed enrollment for its Phase 2b OPTION 2 clinical trial for the company's MS1819 treatment. Targeting cystic fibrosis (CF) patients with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, the trial enrolled 30 CF patients.
\n
Why is this week one to keep AZRX stock on the watch list? The company said earlier in March that top-line data from the study is expected by the end of Q1 2021. Considering there are just 3 days left in the quarter, the clock is ticking.
\n
Furthermore, AzurRx recently announced the completion of enrollment in its Phase 2 trial evaluating MS1819 in combination with the current standard of care, porcine-derived pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy. Topline data from this combination treatment is expected by the end of next quarter. So there are several near-term potential catalysts to be aware of.
\n
As far as analysts are concerned, the most recent rating comes from H.C. Wainwright. The firm has a Buy rating on the penny stock. Furthermore, earlier this quarter, it boosted its price target from $2 to $3.50.
\n

\n
CTI BioPharma Corp. (NASDAQ: CTIC)
\n
Since making its explosive move last quarter, CTI BioPharma has remained in a steady channel between $2.60 and $3.60 for the most part. There've been a few instances where CTIC stock has broken above the upper threshold. But for all intents and purposes, this has been the range over the last few months. Most recently, CTIC has felt a bit of selling pressure.
\n
Ever since announcing that the American Association for Cancer Research's journal, Clinical Cancer Research published results from a Phase 1 study evaluating CTI's pacritinib, the stock has slid. This was studying the prevention of acute graft-versus-host disease using the treatment. According to the company, the results showed that pacritinib, combined with sirolimus and low-dose tacrolimus, has a \"promising safety profile and exhibits preliminary therapeutic activity in preventing acute GVHD after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation.\"
\n
The Phase 2 portion of the trial evaluating the therapeutic effect of pacritinib in combination with sirolimus and low-dose tacrolimus for GVHD prevention is ongoing at Moffitt Cancer Center and the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota.
\n
Why is this week an important one for CTI? As revealed in its March 17th update, the company expects completion of a rolling New Drug Authorization submission for pacritinib in myelofibrosis patients with severe thrombocytopenia by the \"end of Q1,\" so again, this is a situation where the clock starts ticking. But as far as analysts are concerned, Lake Street Capital is the most recent to weigh in. The firm has a Buy on the stock and boosted its price target this year. There are very few things you can invest your money in and see quick & large returns. Thanks to the pandemic in 2020, the retail investor base has increased in size. We're not just seeing a few new 'mom and pop investors,' we're seeing millions of new traders looking to make money in the stock market.\nBut if you're new to this world of cheap shares, you may have a few questions like what are penny stocks & how can I make money with them? Keeping it simple, these stocks represent shares of companies trading for less than $5; that's it. Over the last year, the millions of new retail traders saw, first-hand, how big some of these \"cheap stocks\" can break out.\nOn the one hand, you've got companies like GameStop (NYSE: GME), which traded below $3 a year ago and ended up reaching highs of more than $480 this year. Then you've got other companies like Zomedica (NYSE: ZOM), which cost less than a dime per share late last year and rallied just a few dollars to highs of $2.91 this year. Does a $2.85 move actually matter?\nWhen you're talking about penny stocks under $0.10, it sure does. It matters about 47 times the initial investment. ZOM stock moved 4,750% within just a few months. Even with the higher risk that penny stocks have, finding the best ones to follow can pay off.\nWhat Kind Of Penny Stocks Should You Watch?\nIf you're putting together a list of penny stocks to watch, you might want to take a closer look at certain sectors and market trends. One thing I'm sure you'll find is that even if the broader S&P & Nasdaq are getting pummeled, there are usually at least a few biotech stocks climbing. That's typical of the industry.\nThese companies are usually speculative in nature, especially when you're talking about smaller companies. Since the entire business model hinges on advancing treatment into commercialization, everything leading up to that point, including earnings, comes second to things like trial data.\n[Read More] 3 Penny Stocks To Buy Under $5 For Your April 2021 Watch List\nIn fact, if you look at some of the top biotech penny stocks recently, while markets have sold off, many have weathered the storm well, thanks to key updates on trials. In this case, the most recent rating comes from Oppenheimer, which also placed a $5 target on the company.\nI'm going to stick with this theme today and discuss a few more biotech penny stocks to watch that analysts have covered recently. A few could also have some fundamental catalysts to be on the lookout for. Will they be on your list this week?\nBiotech Penny Stocks To Watch \n\nGT Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ: GTBP)\nAzurRx BioPharma Inc. (NASDAQ: AZRX)\nCTI BioPharma Corp. (NASDAQ: CTIC)\nOpko Health Inc. (NASDAQ: OPK)\n\nGT Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ: GTBP)\nAnalysts at Roth Capital recently weighed in on GT Biopharma in March. The firm gave a Buy rating and $25 price target on the penny stock. A few core developments related to the company's immunotherapy pipeline could be important to note in light of this latest sentiment from Roth.\nIn particular, GT Biopharma has been developing a treatment platform, TriKE, indicated in numerous types of cancers. Early results have already shown a reduction in bone marrow blast levels and not showing any sign of toxicity.\nThis month, GT announced preclinical results for another treatment candidate, its ROR1 TriKE(TM), as a prospective therapy for prostate cancer. GT explained that targeting ROR1 on cancer cells with TriKE(TM) and redirecting NK cells to attack and kill cancer cells expressing ROR1 could result in a treatment that limits the metastatic potential and invasiveness of certain solid tumors. Based on these results, the company said that it plans to evaluate this ROR1 TriKE in additional IND-enabling preclinical studies to transition to a Phase I/II clinical trial.\nAll things considered, there've been a number of things that the market and analysts like Roth are taking into account when it comes to GT Biopharma in 2021.\n\nAzurRx BioPharma Inc. (NASDAQ: AZRX)\nAnother one of the biotech penny stocks to watch this week is AzurRX. Aside from analyst sentiment, which I'll discuss, this week could be pivotal for its treatment pipeline. In particular, AzurRx completed enrollment for its Phase 2b OPTION 2 clinical trial for the company's MS1819 treatment. Targeting cystic fibrosis (CF) patients with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, the trial enrolled 30 CF patients.\nWhy is this week one to keep AZRX stock on the watch list? The company said earlier in March that top-line data from the study is expected by the end of Q1 2021. Considering there are just 3 days left in the quarter, the clock is ticking.\nFurthermore, AzurRx recently announced the completion of enrollment in its Phase 2 trial evaluating MS1819 in combination with the current standard of care, porcine-derived pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy. Topline data from this combination treatment is expected by the end of next quarter. So there are several near-term potential catalysts to be aware of.\nAs far as analysts are concerned, the most recent rating comes from H.C. Wainwright. The firm has a Buy rating on the penny stock. Furthermore, earlier this quarter, it boosted its price target from $2 to $3.50.\n\nCTI BioPharma Corp. (NASDAQ: CTIC)\nSince making its explosive move last quarter, CTI BioPharma has remained in a steady channel between $2.60 and $3.60 for the most part. There've been a few instances where CTIC stock has broken above the upper threshold. But for all intents and purposes, this has been the range over the last few months. Most recently, CTIC has felt a bit of selling pressure.\nEver since announcing that the American Association for Cancer Research's journal, Clinical Cancer Research published results from a Phase 1 study evaluating CTI's pacritinib, the stock has slid. This was studying the prevention of acute graft-versus-host disease using the treatment. According to the company, the results showed that pacritinib, combined with sirolimus and low-dose tacrolimus, has a \"promising safety profile and exhibits preliminary therapeutic activity in preventing acute GVHD after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation.\"\nThe Phase 2 portion of the trial evaluating the therapeutic effect of pacritinib in combination with sirolimus and low-dose tacrolimus for GVHD prevention is ongoing at Moffitt Cancer Center and the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota.\nWhy is this week an important one for CTI? As revealed in its March 17th update, the company expects completion of a rolling New Drug Authorization submission for pacritinib in myelofibrosis patients with severe thrombocytopenia by the \"end of Q1,\" so again, this is a situation where the clock starts ticking. But as far as analysts are concerned, Lake Street Capital is the most recent to weigh in. The firm has a Buy on the stock and boosted its price target this year. Lake Street had given an $8 target but increased it 62.5% to $13 earlier this year.\n\nOpko Health Inc. (NASDAQ: OPK)\nFinally, Opko could be another one of the biotech penny stocks for the watch list. While it focuses on expanding its reach through numerous operating companies, it's also developing its own treatment pipeline.\n[Read More] Best Penny Stocks To Buy On Robinhood? 3 Biotechs For Your Watch List\nIn this case, based on the company's January investor deck, Opko expected to have topline data on a Rayaldee trial by the end of this quarter. The chipmaker ended 2020 on a high and expects to deliver massive growth once again this year. More importantly, investors shouldn't worry too much about the potential impact of Intel's recent announcements on AMD's fortunes just yet, as the latter has enough going for it to ward off any threat from its bigger rival.
\n
Let's see why.
\n
AMD data by YCharts
\n
AMD isn't going to fall behind Intel anytime soon
\n
AMD chipped away substantially at Intel's dominance in PC central processing units (CPUs) and server processors last year. The chipmaker ended 2020 with a 21.7% share of the x86 processor market, which includes chips used in servers, laptops, and desktops, up from 15.1% at the end of the fourth quarter of 2019.
\n
However, there has been chatter of Intel being on the path of a turnaround, as it had reclaimed some of its market share from AMD in the fourth quarter of 2020 on a quarter-over-quarter basis. That chatter has only become stronger as Chipzilla reportedly looks to erase AMD's technological leadership with aggressive capacity investments.
\n
Intel recently announced a capital expenditure budget of $20 billion for 2021, a big increase over last year's $14 billion outlay, as it looks to shore up its manufacturing. The company says that the delays it faced with the 10-nanometer (nm) and 7nm chip manufacturing processes are now fixed. In fact, Intel says that its 7nm client CPUs code-named Meteor Lake are in development and will tape in the next quarter. Intel is expected to start shipping its 7nm PC chips to customers in 2023, while data center chips based on the platform are also expected in that year.
\n
AMD has already been selling 7nm processors for quite some time now, giving it an advantage over Intel, which fumbled its transition to the competing 10nm platform and has remained stuck on the 14nm platform for a long time now. What's more, investors need not be afraid of Intel's progress on the 7nm front, as Chipzilla's timeline for the launch of those chips hasn't changed.
\n
\n
In fact, AMD can be expected to raise its game by the time Intel's 7nm chips hit the market by transitioning to the competing 5nm manufacturing node within the next couple of years. A smaller processing node will allow AMD to pack more transistors closer to each other, leading to improved computing performance and lower power consumption.
\n
Therefore, AMD can remain ahead of Intel once it makes the transition to a smaller 5nm process node. Chipzilla is unlikely to regain its technology lead until the launch of its own 5nm process, the timeline for which is unknown right now. As it turns out, AMD's foundry partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing is reportedly working to increase the production capacity of 5nm chips. That should bode well for AMD, as it is expected to become TSMC's second-largest customer and enjoy stronger bargaining power.
\n
Additionally, AMD can be expected to keep up the pressure on Intel in the data center space after the launch of its latest EPYC server processors. AMD claims that the latest EPYC 7003 processors based on the 7nm process are twice as fast as Intel's competing chips. Third-party tests conducted by AnandTech indicate the same.
\n
More importantly, AMD has a solid lineup of clients using the latest EPYC server processors. They include Amazon, Cisco, Dell Technologies, Alphabet's Google, Microsoft, Lenovo, and Tencent. So it won't be surprising to see AMD log big gains in the data center market in both the short and the long run.
\n
Buy when others are fearful
\n
AMD stock has become cheaper thanks to the recent pullback, trading at 38 times trailing earnings. That's really cheap compared to last year's average trailing earnings multiple of 124, thanks to the sharp spike in the company's earnings and a lower share price. The good news is that AMD's bottom-line growth is here to stay thanks to a variety of catalysts, and it may not be long before the stock price follows suit.
\n
AMD EPS Estimates for Current Fiscal Year data by YCharts
\n
All of this makes AMD a growth stock worth buying right now, as it continues to remain in a solid position against Intel and has additional growth drivers in the bag.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
AMD Stock Has Crashed 20%: Here's Why You Should Buy
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nAMD Stock Has Crashed 20%: Here's Why You Should Buy\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-03-26 22:55 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) stock hit a 52-week high in January this year, but the price for this high-flying chipmaker has pulled back over 20% since then thanks to a variety of factors such ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"AMD":"美国超微公司"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/03/26/amd-stock-has-crashed-20-heres-why-you-should-buy/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2122472374","content_text":"Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) stock hit a 52-week high in January this year, but the price for this high-flying chipmaker has pulled back over 20% since then thanks to a variety of factors such as the broader sell-off in tech stocks and rival Intel's (NASDAQ:INTC) resurgence under new leadership.\nHowever, one look at the pace of AMD's growth and its outlook for the year tells us that the recent sell-off in the stock may not be justified. The chipmaker ended 2020 with a 21.7% share of the x86 processor market, which includes chips used in servers, laptops, and desktops, up from 15.1% at the end of the fourth quarter of 2019.\nHowever, there has been chatter of Intel being on the path of a turnaround, as it had reclaimed some of its market share from AMD in the fourth quarter of 2020 on a quarter-over-quarter basis. That chatter has only become stronger as Chipzilla reportedly looks to erase AMD's technological leadership with aggressive capacity investments.\nIntel recently announced a capital expenditure budget of $20 billion for 2021, a big increase over last year's $14 billion outlay, as it looks to shore up its manufacturing. The company says that the delays it faced with the 10-nanometer (nm) and 7nm chip manufacturing processes are now fixed. In fact, Intel says that its 7nm client CPUs code-named Meteor Lake are in development and will tape in the next quarter. Intel is expected to start shipping its 7nm PC chips to customers in 2023, while data center chips based on the platform are also expected in that year.\nAMD has already been selling 7nm processors for quite some time now, giving it an advantage over Intel, which fumbled its transition to the competing 10nm platform and has remained stuck on the 14nm platform for a long time now. What's more, investors need not be afraid of Intel's progress on the 7nm front, as Chipzilla's timeline for the launch of those chips hasn't changed.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nIn fact, AMD can be expected to raise its game by the time Intel's 7nm chips hit the market by transitioning to the competing 5nm manufacturing node within the next couple of years. A smaller processing node will allow AMD to pack more transistors closer to each other, leading to improved computing performance and lower power consumption.\nTherefore, AMD can remain ahead of Intel once it makes the transition to a smaller 5nm process node. That should bode well for AMD, as it is expected to become TSMC's second-largest customer and enjoy stronger bargaining power.\nAdditionally, AMD can be expected to keep up the pressure on Intel in the data center space after the launch of its latest EPYC server processors. AMD claims that the latest EPYC 7003 processors based on the 7nm process are twice as fast as Intel's competing chips. Third-party tests conducted by AnandTech indicate the same.\nMore importantly, AMD has a solid lineup of clients using the latest EPYC server processors. They include Amazon, Cisco, Dell Technologies, Alphabet's Google, Microsoft, Lenovo, and Tencent. So it won't be surprising to see AMD log big gains in the data center market in both the short and the long run.\nBuy when others are fearful\nAMD stock has become cheaper thanks to the recent pullback, trading at 38 times trailing earnings. That's really cheap compared to last year's average trailing earnings multiple of 124, thanks to the sharp spike in the company's earnings and a lower share price. The good news is that AMD's bottom-line growth is here to stay thanks to a variety of catalysts, and it may not be long before the stock price follows suit.\nAMD EPS Estimates for Current Fiscal Year data by YCharts\nAll of this makes AMD a growth stock worth buying right now, as it continues to remain in a solid position against Intel and has additional growth drivers in the bag.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":96,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":891063436,"gmtCreate":1628308266025,"gmtModify":1633751759580,"author":{"id":"3575928962971398","authorId":"3575928962971398","name":"HappyTrader","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9e17ecdf632628b1622a479d94145d9a","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a
