At one point it was hedge funds. Which is fair as they are forced to cover. But when the short interest dipped, and there was the buying frenzy, the person stuck with the bill was the retail investor that was blinded by possible opportunity and entered at $300 only to find his portfolio down 70% now.

Suburban mallshave strong fundamentals. I’ve just completed a physical walk through of Fraser malls and most shop spaces are well occupied and crowds are back. Even“temporary empty units” areas have been efficiently utilised by the mall with short term contracts with vendors such as Mark’s and Spenser to optimise shop spaces.
