But if you know where to look, there are some hidden gems trading at reasonable valuations that could be the market darlings of 2022 and beyond.
\n
Two trends that will surely lead to big returns are the emerging digital economy and demand for computer peripherals from the growing adoption of remote work. Here's why Logitech International (NASDAQ:LOGI) and Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN) are well positioned to tackle these opportunities and deliver major gains for investors.
\n
Logitech: A leading brand of computer peripherals
\n
Logitech has seen growing demand in recent years from a few different trends. One is the increasing popularity of gaming, particularly esports. CEO Bracken Darrell previously said, \"Gaming will grow to become the biggest collection of sports in the world one day from both a participant and a spectator standpoint.\" The company is also benefiting as more businesses shift to a hybrid workforce, allowing employees to split time between working at home or at the office. Both opportunities are boosting sales of Logitech's mice, keyboards, webcams, and headsets.
\n
The share price has fallen this year as a result of difficult year-over-year comparisons with calendar 2020 when the stay-at-home environment drove sales through the roof. However, the gaming peripherals market is expected to roughly double in size to $8.7 billion by 2027, according to Research and Markets. That's a strong tailwind for Logitech's gaming business, which generated revenue of $1.4 billion over the last four quarters.
\n
The number of remote workers is also expected to continue increasing over the next few years. Gartner estimates 53% of the U.S. workforce will be working remotely in 2022 with similar trends across Europe, India, and China.
\n
Logitech is gaining market share across most of its product categories, but supply chain challenges could pressure near-term growth. The tough growth comparisons with last year and the near-term headwinds are giving investors a great opportunity to buy the stock at a forward price-to-earnings multiple of 18.4. These valuation levels should lay the foundation for market-beating returns.
\n
Coinbase: A leading cryptocurrency exchange
\n
Coinbase is one of the largest exchanges for buying and selling cryptocurrency. It has over 73 million verified users across more than 100 countries. It is popular for its easy-to-use interface that includes helpful educational features to help new users get up to speed on the burgeoning cryptoeconomy, but it may win over millions more users as the digital economy goes mainstream.
\n
The stock started trading in April through a direct listing and is currently down 18% from its opening price on April 14, but it's probably only a matter of time until shares bounce back. The company is growing very fast with assets on the platform rising from $36 billion in the third quarter of 2020 to $255 billion in the same period this year. The surge in demand pushed net profit up to $406 million in the latest quarter.
\n
Investors should keep in mind management is not interested in maximizing profits right now, instead focusing on investments in new products and services to attract more users to the platform. Profits could decline during periods of soft trading volume, but Coinbase should continue to see an upward trend for its user base over the next several years, and that's the most important progress to think about.
\n
It's estimated that up to 200 million people have used Bitcoin, but with the most popular cryptocurrency still gaining adoption worldwide, especially in developing countries, the number of people using it could reach one billion in the next five years, according to some analysts. This makes Coinbase's 7.4 million monthly transacting users look minuscule by comparison.
\n
The opportunity is clear, but Coinbase currently trades at a relatively modest price-to-earnings ratio of 28 for a growth stock, which could look very cheap in another 10 years. This is one of the top cryptocurrency stocks to consider in this booming market.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
2 Leading Growth Stocks to Buy in 2021 and Beyond
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n2 Leading Growth Stocks to Buy in 2021 and Beyond\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-11-27 08:50 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Valuations for many growth stocks are getting expensive, which could limit returns in the near term. Treasury markets and helped lay the foundations for a massive rally in the U.S. dollar.
\n
With the Fed widely expected to soon begin an unwind of its $120 billion in government bond buying, here’s a comparison between the market backdrop around the time of the Fed’s most recent unwind and today.
\n
TAPER TIME
\n
The Fed’s taper of the $85 billion a month bond buying But if you know where to look, there are some hidden gems trading at reasonable valuations that could be the market darlings of 2022 and beyond.
The surge in demand pushed net profit up to $406 million in the latest quarter.\nInvestors should keep in mind management is not interested in maximizing profits right now, instead focusing on investments in new products and services to attract more users to the platform. Profits could decline during periods of soft trading volume, but Coinbase should continue to see an upward trend for its user base over the next several years, and that's the most important progress to think about.\nIt's estimated that up to 200 million people have used Bitcoin, but with the most popular cryptocurrency still gaining adoption worldwide, especially in developing countries, the number of people using it could reach one billion in the next five years, according to some analysts. This makes Coinbase's 7.4 million monthly transacting users look minuscule by comparison.\nThe opportunity is clear, but Coinbase currently trades at a relatively modest price-to-earnings ratio of 28 for a growth stock, which could look very cheap in another 10 years. This is one of the top cryptocurrency stocks to consider in this booming market.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1354,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":841428351,"gmtCreate":1635936343566,"gmtModify":1635936343695,"author":{"id":"3559441141744157","authorId":"3559441141744157","name":"gravitytogo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/29c93ad65c0b698ecedd95d5f38f014d","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/841428351","repostId":"1127735959","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1127735959","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1635916273,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1127735959?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-11-03 13:11","market":"us","language":"en","title":"2014 vs 2021: How a Fed taper can move asset prices","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1127735959","media":"Reuters","summary":"Nov 3 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve's taper in 2014 was preceded by sharp gyrations in Treasury ma","content":"
Nov 3 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve's taper in 2014 was preceded by sharp gyrations in Treasury markets and helped lay the foundations for a massive rally in the U.S. dollar.
\n
With the Fed widely expected to soon begin an unwind of its $120 billion in government bond buying, here’s a comparison between the market backdrop around the time of the Fed’s most recent unwind and today.
\n
TAPER TIME
\n
The Fed’s taper of the $85 billion a month bond buying program, which it began in response to the 2007-2009 financial crisis and recession, ran from January 2014 until October of that year.
\n
Since then the central bank’s balance sheet has ballooned to $8.6 trillion as policymakers slashed rates to near zero and rolled out a raft of measures, including monthly government backed bond purchases, as they fought to support the economy in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak last year.
\n
The central bank concludes its November monetary policy meeting on Wednesday.
\n
The Fed's balance sheet
\n
THE DOLLAR
\n
Yield spread and the U.S. dollar
\n
While U.S. monetary policy was far from hawkish in 2014, it stood in contrast to the ultra-dovish trajectories of central banks in Europe, Japan and other countries, who were still fully supporting their economies with stimulus while the Fed was curtailing its bond buying.
\n
A widening between the yields on U.S. Treasuries and government bonds in other countries helped spark a rally in the dollar, which rose nearly 13% against a basket of major currencies in 2014.(.DXY)
\n
The global monetary policy picture is different this time around, with some investors betting that central banks in the U.K., Canada and other economies are likely to soon raise interest rates to combat a global surge in inflation.read more
\n
Signs that the Fed is more concerned about inflation than it has previously indicated, however, could buoy U.S. rates and potentially support the greenback, analysts said.
\n
BOND YIELDS
\n
Bond yields rocketed higher in 2013, after then-Fed chief Ben Bernanke alluded to the policymaker's thinking on plans for pulling back its monetary support in an appearance before lawmakers.
\n
U.S. 10-year yield
\n
This time around, Fed Chair Jerome Powell has tried to prepare markets for the start of a taper well in advance.
\n
Still, U.S. bond markets have experienced gyrations in recent weeks as some investors bet the central bank will need to be more hawkish than expected to combat inflation.read more
\n
Meanwhile, rising yields on expectations of tighter monetary policy and rebounding growth have put the U.S. bond market on track for its worst year since 2013.
