The company has raised its dividend for 36 consecutive years and currently has a yield of 6.64%.

Revenue was a reported $43.9 billion in the first quarter of 2021, up 2.7% year over year. Net income grew to $7.9 billion, up 60% over the same period in 2020, and the company's free cash flow was listed as $5.9 billion, up 51% year over year. The dividend payout is safe, with a ratio of 63.5%.

All three segments of the company's business have seen growth. In communications, the company had 64.8 million postpaid phone subscribers, up 0.76% sequentially. Revenue was $28.1 billion, up 5.2% year over year. The WarnerMedia segment had revenue of $8.5 billion, up 9.8% year over year. The company's Latin America segment had $1.3 billion in revenue compared to $1.28 billion in the same quarter of 2020.

The biggest concern about AT&T is its debt. It has $160.6 billion in long-term debt, up 4% sequentially. Its annualized net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA is 3.13, compared to 2.63 last year. On the first-quarter earnings call, CFO Pascal Desroches said that the company plans to focus on paying down that debt this year.

2. W.P. Carey: A raise every quarter

W.P. Carey has seen its stock rise more than 24% over the past 12 months and more than 7% this year. The company's dividend offers a yield of 5.6%, with a twist: The company has raised its dividend for 79 consecutive quarters, including a bump from $1.046 to $1.048 per share in March. The diversified real estate investment trust (REIT) has 1,274 properties across 25 countries, including industrial, warehouse, retail, office, and self-storage properties.

The company has seen growth in adjusted funds from operations (AFFO) the past three quarters, though its fourth-quarter AFFO of $212.6 million is down 4% year over year. Its AFFO in 2020 was $4.74 per diluted share, down 5.2% from 2019. The company was pretty much unfazed by the pandemic -- its low came when it received 96% of contractual rent in May, but in the fourth quarter, that number was back up to 99%, followed by 98% in January.

It has not only raised its quarterly dividend for 23 consecutive years, but its AFFO payout ratio (trailing 12 months) is 88.19, conservative for a REIT.

Data by YCharts.

3. Sabra Healthcare: A growing trend that's hard to ignore

Sabra Healthcare, a REIT that specializes in medical facilities, cut its dividend last year from $0.45 to $0.30, and has yet to raise it again. But even with that trim, the yield on the company's dividend it 6.6%. The pandemic made for a challenging year for REITs that focus on nursing homes, and Sabra -- which owns nursing homes, senior living facilities, and specialty hospitals -- is continuing to deal with the headwinds. Many people are still reluctant to live in nursing homes, and in the fourth quarter, total occupancy dropped to 80.2%, down 8.6% year over year.

Other discouraging numbers: The company's AFFO per share for the year was $1.74, down from $2.08 the year before. And for the fourth quarter, the company issued bleak guidance of $0.38-$0.39 of AFFO per share, compared to $0.42 in the fourth quarter of 2020.

So why is Sabra worth watching? I think the paltry 4% rise in the company's stock this year presents an opportunity because the company's fundamentals are still strong. Sabra collected 99% of its rents from the beginning of the pandemic through February of 2021. As for the dividend, it is well covered with a payout ratio of 73% of normalized AFFO per share. The company also did a good job of lowering its debt, knocking down its net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio from 5.7 to 4.9.

The long-term prognosis for nursing homes is still a growth trend, as our population continues to age. The pandemic reversed the growth of occupancy for nursing homes, but not forever. In the meantime, the company's dividend is a nice reward for waiting for a turnaround.

4. Williams Companies: A boon to investors

Williams Companies' stock is up more than 31% over the past 12 months, and more than 21% this year. The company's dividend, which offers a current yield of 6.73% is enticing. The company has raised its dividend the past five years.

The company delivers 30% of the country's natural gas through its more than 30,000 miles of pipelines. Last year was a difficult one for oil and gas companies, with oil and natural gas prices down, but Williams Companies still improved its numbers over 2019 by reducing capital expenditures. Its adjusted EBITDA of $5.1 million was up 2% year over year, while its adjusted funds from operations of $3.6 million were up 1% year over year. The company's cash dividend payout ratio, while still precariously high at 87.39%, is down from where it was in 2019.

The company raised its quarterly dividend 5.3% last year to $0.40 per share, and has already raised it 2.5% this year to $0.41 per share.

5: TFS Financial: Dividends you can bank on

TFS Financial, based in Cleveland, is a holding company whose subsidiaries make most of their money from offering mortgage loans, though they also have savings and checking accounts. The company's shares are up more than 10% this year and more than 37% over the past 12 months. Its dividend yields 5.73% with a cash dividend payout ratio (TTM) of 45.9%.

In 2020, TFS Financial reported annual revenue of $509 million, up only 1.9% year over year, but marking the sixth consecutive year it grew revenue. It also reported annual net income last year of $83 million, up 3.8% over 2019.

The company has stressed its commitment to its dividend, which has climbed 300% over the past 10 years.

Making the best of a good situation

All five of these stocks are worth watching because of their dividend growth and high yields. However, of the quintet, W.P. Carey seems the most solid choice if you look at the company's track record of raising its dividend every quarter, the diversity of its real estate holdings, and the consistency of its cash situation.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 High-Yield Dividend Stocks to Watch
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 High-Yield Dividend Stocks to Watch\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-05 10:20 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
AT&T (NYSE:$(T)$), W.P. Here's Why I'm Not Worried","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1121438740","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The last year has been one for the record books, and the stock market has experienced an incredible ","content":"
The last year has been one for the record books, and the stock market has experienced an incredible run. In fact, over the past 12 months, theS&P 500has earned returns of nearly 50%.
\n
However, the market can't continue its upward trajectory forever. Some experts believe a market crash is on the horizon, perhaps even this year.
\n
While nobody knows when, exactly, the market will experience a downturn (or just how significant that downturn will be), itwillhappen eventually. Here's why I'm not losing sleep over it.
\n

\n
\n
Market crashes are more common than you may think
\n
When your life savings are tied up in the stock market, it's normal to worry about how a crash will affect your money.
\n
Market downturns are relatively common, however. Since 1928, there have been 21 separate occasions where the S&P 500 has fallen by more than 20%, according to data from Wall Street analytics firm Yardeni Research. That means that, on average, there's a stock market decline of at least 20% every 4.5 years.
\n
The good news, though, is that in every single one of those crashes, the market was able to recover. Even after the S&P 500 lost more than one-third of its value at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it bounced back and has been shattering records ever since.
\n

\n
^SPXDATA BYYCHARTS
\n
Nobody can prevent market crashes, and it can be extremely difficult to avoid them. If you try to time the market by selling your investments just before stock prices drop, you're likely to get burned. For those reasons, the best thing you can do is simply ride out the storm.
\n
Protecting your money
\n
While you may not be able to stop a market crash, there are a few things you can do to keep your money as safe as possible.
\n
\n
Diversify your investments:Diversifying your investments means spreading your money across a variety of stocks from multiple industries. In other words, don't put all your eggs in one basket. An easy way to diversify is to invest inmutual fundsorETFs, which contain dozens or even hundreds of different stocks.
\n
Stay focused on the long term:If the market does crash in the near future, try your best not to panic. Instead, remember that it's extremely likely the market will recover if given enough time. If you leave your investments alone, they will likely bounce back.
\n
Think about your investing timeline:If you're close to retirement and expect to start withdrawing money from the stock market soon, now is a good time to think about yourasset allocation. The older you get, the more conservative your portfolio should be (meaning you should start investing more in bonds and less in stocks). If you plan to retire in the next year or two and 90% of your portfolio is comprised of stocks, a market crash could wreak havoc on your financial situation.
\n
\n
Most importantly, make sure you're choosing the right investments that are more likely to withstand market volatility. If you're new to investing, anS&P 500 ETFmay be your best bet. This type of fund mirrors the S&P 500 itself, and because the S&P 500 has always recovered from market crashes, your ETF likely will as well.
\n
If you prefer to invest in individual stocks, be sure you'vedone your homework. In fact, over the past 12 months, theS&P 500has earned returns of nearly 50%.\nHowever, the market can't continue its upward trajectory forever. Some experts believe a market crash is on the horizon, perhaps even this year.\nWhile nobody knows when, exactly, the market will experience a downturn (or just how significant that downturn will be), itwillhappen eventually. Here's why I'm not losing sleep over it.\n\nIMAGE SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES.\nMarket crashes are more common than you may think\nWhen your life savings are tied up in the stock market, it's normal to worry about how a crash will affect your money.\nMarket downturns are relatively common, however. Since 1928, there have been 21 separate occasions where the S&P 500 has fallen by more than 20%, according to data from Wall Street analytics firm Yardeni Research. That means that, on average, there's a stock market decline of at least 20% every 4.5 years.\nThe good news, though, is that in every single one of those crashes, the market was able to recover. Even after the S&P 500 lost more than one-third of its value at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it bounced back and has been shattering records ever since.\n\n^SPXDATA BYYCHARTS\nNobody can prevent market crashes, and it can be extremely difficult to avoid them. If you try to time the market by selling your investments just before stock prices drop, you're likely to get burned. For those reasons, the best thing you can do is simply ride out the storm.\nProtecting your money\nWhile you may not be able to stop a market crash, there are a few things you can do to keep your money as safe as possible.\n\nDiversify your investments:Diversifying your investments means spreading your money across a variety of stocks from multiple industries. In other words, don't put all your eggs in one basket. An easy way to diversify is to invest inmutual fundsorETFs, which contain dozens or even hundreds of different stocks.\nStay focused on the long term:If the market does crash in the near future, try your best not to panic. Instead, remember that it's extremely likely the market will recover if given enough time. If you leave your investments alone, they will likely bounce back.\nThink about your investing timeline:If you're close to retirement and expect to start withdrawing money from the stock market soon, now is a good time to think about yourasset allocation. The older you get, the more conservative your portfolio should be (meaning you should start investing more in bonds and less in stocks). If you plan to retire in the next year or two and 90% of your portfolio is comprised of stocks, a market crash could wreak havoc on your financial situation.\n\nMost importantly, make sure you're choosing the right investments that are more likely to withstand market volatility. If you're new to investing, anS&P 500 ETFmay be your best bet. This type of fund mirrors the S&P 500 itself, and because the S&P 500 has always recovered from market crashes, your ETF likely will as well.\nIf you prefer to invest in individual stocks, be sure you'vedone your homework. Strong companies are more likely to survive market crashes, so it's important that all your investments have solid business fundamentals.\nMarket crashes can be scary, but they are normal. They're also temporary, and by investing wisely and staying in it for the long haul, it's very likely you'll make it through to the other side.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":35,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":377163260,"gmtCreate":1619506390950,"gmtModify":1631890295553,"author":{"id":"3558258120714105","authorId":"3558258120714105","name":"ckh002","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e9af207bf65854d17beeef8de785f31d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3558258120714105","authorIdStr":"3558258120714105"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Still holding on $500. Despite having a large share of the luxury EV market, the company has posted several years of significant losses in its history. Investors are now hoping that the days of red ink are behind us, which is why the focus must now shift to key margin metrics.
\n
Tesla's GAAP and non-GAAP numbers have always varied wildly due to stock-based compensation. That gap has been quite large recently thanks to Elon Musk's large bonus plan hitting a number of tranches in 2020. Analysts primarily use the adjusted numbers, and Tesla delivered $2.24 in adjusted EPS last year. As the graphic below shows, estimates for this year have been rising for more than a year, with the current average of $4.22 up a bit from the $3.98 average seen at the end of last year.
\n
Source: Seeking Alpha Tesla analyst estimates page
\n
It will be very interesting to see the margin numbers reported when Tesla earnings come out on Monday, April 26th. While the company did beat estimates for Q1 production and deliveries, there was no production of the Model S or X in the quarter. Elon Musk had said on the Q1 conference call that the refreshed versions of those luxury models were in production already and would be delivered in February, but that obviously did not happen. With these being higher margin vehicles in the past, you would figure overall margins will be hurt.
\n
Q1 also saw sharp rises in key commodity prices like nickel and cobalt, as well as the initial ramp of the Model Y made in China. Tesla skeptics also believe that highly profitable credit sales will fade over time, but it remains to be seen in the short term how much they will contribute. There also were a number of price cuts during the quarter, like for the Model 3 in Japan and a number of European countries. For a time, Tesla also cut prices in the US on the Model Y and also had a much lower priced Standard Range variant that was sold for part of the quarter.
\n
As the graphic below details, Tesla's GAAP automotive gross margins have mostly been in the mid 20s percentage-wise over the past five quarters. Credit sales have helped quite a bit, but don't forget that this is only just part of the business. Tesla's energy business has seen low margins or negative margins in recent periods, and the services/other segment loses plenty of money each quarter. Overall for Q4 2020, the company's total GAAP gross margin figure was 19.23%, nearly 500 basis points below the automotive segment's GAAP gross margin figure.
\n
Source: Tesla Q4 2020 investor letter
\n
With almost no Model S/X vehicles sold during the period, company-wide average selling prices will certainly decline. The key question is was Tesla able to keep costs at a reasonable level, or are we going to see a significant drop in gross margins? Management spoke on the conference call about a number of supposedly one-time items that were headwinds in Q4, which if they truly dissipate could really help things in Q1.
\n
On the operating side, there shouldn't be as much expense given a shorter quarter, less coming from the CEO pay package, and Q4 having a larger part of expenses relating to the employee performance grant process. As a point of reference, the current estimates call for $10.12 billion in Q1 revenue and $0.74 in non-GAAP EPS, compared to $10.74 billion and $0.80 in Q4 2020.
\n
While the Street expects more than $4 in earnings this year, that number is forecast to surge into the low-double digits by 2024. It certainly helps that expected sharply rising deliveries over time should result in more revenue. However, if there are too many price cuts needed to achieve that growth, whether it be to competition or other factors like global economics, certain margin targets will not be met.
\n
Don't forget, Tesla's share count is rising over time, which is pressuring the EPS forecast for a given level of net income. The unit sales surge in Japan is a good example of how things can change, as it was driven by price cuts of 13%-17% for the Model 3. I can certainly sell more dollar bills for 90 cents each than I can for 95 cents, but it won't be good for my bottom line.
\n
As for Tesla shares, they are at a very interesting point right now. They closed Monday just above the 100-day moving average (green line below), but remain under the 50-day (purple line). The current Street price target average implies $60 of downside from here, and the stock's movement until earnings will likely be dependent on whether inflation data results in bond yields moving sharply higher or not. If the stock cannot break above the 50-day, that declining key technical level could provide more resistance, and it brings up the possibility of the stock seeing the dreaded death cross later this year.
\n
Source: Yahoo! Finance
\n
Tesla certainly defied reduced expectations when it reported its Q1 delivery figures, but my primary Q1 focus will be on margins. How profitable will the company be when it is selling almost no Model S/X units, especially with commodity headwinds and the ramp of the China-made Model Y. Analyst estimates are certainly on the rise, with the Street now calling for a more than $2.2 billion improvement in non-GAAP net income this year. Tesla shares have come off their highs as a rise in bond yields have hurt growth names, but a good quarter in terms of margins could help the name get back above a key technical trend line.
","source":"seekingalpha","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tesla Focus Shifts To Margins
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nTesla Focus Shifts To Margins\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-14 12:01 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nAnalysts expect non-GAAP profit to surge this year.\nShort-term situation could see a number of pressures.\nStock at a key technical point right now.\n\nPhoto by Urupong/iStock via Getty Images\n...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"TSLA":"特斯拉"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4418935-tesla-focus-shifts-to-margins","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/5a36db9d73b4222bc376d24ccc48c8a4","article_id":"1126332570","content_text":"Summary\n\nAnalysts expect non-GAAP profit to surge this year.\nShort-term situation could see a number of pressures.\nStock at a key technical point right now.\n\nPhoto by Urupong/iStock via Getty Images\nOne of the largest criticisms of electric vehicle maker Tesla (TSLA) has been its inability to generate meaningful profits. The key question is was Tesla able to keep costs at a reasonable level, or are we going to see a significant drop in gross margins? Management spoke on the conference call about a number of supposedly one-time items that were headwinds in Q4, which if they truly dissipate could really help things in Q1.\nOn the operating side, there shouldn't be as much expense given a shorter quarter, less coming from the CEO pay package, and Q4 having a larger part of expenses relating to the employee performance grant process. As a point of reference, the current estimates call for $10.12 billion in Q1 revenue and $0.74 in non-GAAP EPS, compared to $10.74 billion and $0.80 in Q4 2020.\nWhile the Street expects more than $4 in earnings this year, that number is forecast to surge into the low-double digits by 2024. It certainly helps that expected sharply rising deliveries over time should result in more revenue. However, if there are too many price cuts needed to achieve that growth, whether it be to competition or other factors like global economics, certain margin targets will not be met.\nDon't forget, Tesla's share count is rising over time, which is pressuring the EPS forecast for a given level of net income. The unit sales surge in Japan is a good example of how things can change, as it was driven by price cuts of 13%-17% for the Model 3. I can certainly sell more dollar bills for 90 cents each than I can for 95 cents, but it won't be good for my bottom line.\nAs for Tesla shares, they are at a very interesting point right now. They closed Monday just above the 100-day moving average (green line below), but remain under the 50-day (purple line). The current Street price target average implies $60 of downside from here, and the stock's movement until earnings will likely be dependent on whether inflation data results in bond yields moving sharply higher or not. If the stock cannot break above the 50-day, that declining key technical level could provide more resistance, and it brings up the possibility of the stock seeing the dreaded death cross later this year.\nSource: Yahoo! Finance\nTesla certainly defied reduced expectations when it reported its Q1 delivery figures, but my primary Q1 focus will be on margins. How profitable will the company be when it is selling almost no Model S/X units, especially with commodity headwinds and the ramp of the China-made Model Y. Analyst estimates are certainly on the rise, with the Street now calling for a more than $2.2 billion improvement in non-GAAP net income this year. Tesla shares have come off their highs as a rise in bond yields have hurt growth names, but a good quarter in terms of margins could help the name get back above a key technical trend line.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":504,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":373971889,"gmtCreate":1618817628841,"gmtModify":1631891657160,"author":{"id":"3558258120714105","authorId":"3558258120714105","name":"ckh002","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e9af207bf65854d17beeef8de785f31d","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3558258120714105","authorIdStr":"3558258120714105"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$With Bitcoin weekend crashed and Huawei AI car launch, *Tesla* and EV counters may face heavy selling tonight. Shares are down more than 5% at the time of writing as investors continue to digest the Chinese EV maker’s prospects.

Many investors are already aware of the myriad of issues plaguing this stock of late. The company’s been hit withdeteriorating U.S.-China relations, and more recently, delisting threats. The globalchip shortageaffecting all EV stocks is still at play, providing additional downside momentum in recent weeks.

However, today, a couple of additional headwinds materialized. Let’s dive into what’s driving NIO stock lower today.

BYD, Competitors Threatening NIO Stock

On Tuesday, Warren Buffett-backed Chinese Automaker BYD Company(OTCMKTS:BYDDF)announcedit had delivered more than twice as many electric cars as Nio in March.

The race to capture market share in the fast-growing Chinese market is on. And right now, it appears Nio is losing ground to competitors.

Nio’s March deliveries of 7,257 cars didbeat analyst expectations. However, Nio isn’t the only game in town, and investors seem to be assessing how the market share of each competitor will ultimately shape up.

BYD and Xpeng(NYSE:XPEV) combined to produce roughly three times as many cars as Nio. An approximate 25% market share compared to its top two competitors isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. Accordingly, it appears the jury’s still out on which company will be the longer-term market leader in China.

Q2 Production Headwinds an Issue

Recentcommentsby Nio’s founder and CEO William Li have provided another cause for concern for investors in NIO stock.

This time, the issue is once again with a global chip shortage. Let’s dive into what’s driving NIO stock lower today.BYD, Competitors Threatening NIO StockOn Tuesday, Warren Buffett-backed Chinese Automaker BYD Company(OTCMKTS:BYDDF)announcedit had delivered more than twice as many electric cars as Nio in March. The race to capture market share in the fast-growing Chinese market is on. And right now, it appears Nio is losing ground to competitors.Nio’s March deliveries of 7,257 cars didbeat analyst expectations. However, Nio isn’t the only game in town, and investors seem to be assessing how the market share of each competitor will ultimately shape up.BYD and Xpeng(NYSE:XPEV) combined to produce roughly three times as many cars as Nio. An approximate 25% market share compared to its top two competitors isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. Accordingly, it appears the jury’s still out on which company will be the longer-term market leader in China.Q2 Production Headwinds an IssueRecentcommentsby Nio’s founder and CEO William Li have provided another cause for concern for investors in NIO stock. This time, the issue is once again with a global chip shortage. Li said:“We still face difficulties in achieving our production goal — the issue (of chip shortage) remains tough in the second quarter, but it will affect our production only in the near term.”Concerns are that the global chip shortage could result in Nio missing its production targets. Given how much growth is priced into EV stocks, that’s not a good thing.
