want to do is to sit around and fret about their portfolio. After all, they’ve worked hard to try to enjoy life as a senior and to not worry about their financial position. The best way to solve this problem is a well-rounded portfolio with the right balance of dividend, growth and value stocks. This article specifically focuses on the growth stocks to buy and how they can super-charge your retirement portfolio.
\n
Growth stocks typically belong to those companies that are growing at an above-average rate in their respective industries. Moreover, these companies are poised to expand over a long-term horizon thanks to their ability to innovate and reinvent themselves. Growth investors look at forward profitability and cash flow metrics when picking out the best growth stocks to buy.
\n
With that being said, this list below covers seven of the most promising growth stocks to buy, which will deliver returns across several markets.
\n
\n
Cloudflare(NYSE:NET)
\n
Shopify(NYSE:SHOP)
\n
Square(NYSE:SQ)
\n
Snap(NYSE:SNAP)
\n
Alibaba Group(NYSE:BABA)
\n
Etsy(NASDAQ:ETSY)
\n
Roku(NASDAQ:ROKU)
\n
\n
Cloudflare (NET)
\n
Cloudflare has arguably one of the most active companies in the past year, launching more than 550 new products. The cloud platform has been growing rapidly and has expanded its total addressable market to over $70 billion. Additionally, it plans to spread into other profitable areas apart from its traditional content delivery services. Moreover, NET stock’s 12-month returns are at a staggering 180%.
\n
Earnings in the past year have been nothing short of amazing, with double-digit growth in revenues for the past three quarters. Year-over-year revenue growth is at a healthy 51%, with forward estimates at 42%. As it looks to expand its product suite into large TAM areas such as cybersecurity and MPLS/SD-WAN, it will continue to post strong sales numbers for the foreseeable future.
\n
Shopify (SHOP)
\n
Shopify is a leading merchant platform that has consistently delivered for its long-term investors. With businesses having to close down during the pandemic, Shopify became a beacon of hope for small merchants starting their online businesses. As a result, its year-over-year revenue growth is dumbfounding 99.6%, which dwarfs its competition. Hence, with a wide moat and the ability to constantly evolve more than justifies SHOP stocks lofty valuation.
\n
2020 was another stellar year for the company, but it looks like it still has multiple chapters to write in its growth story. Its fulfillment center strategy is one of them, giving Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) a run for its money. Moreover, its Payments division and international markets are two major catalysts for future growth. The company expects to grow its revenues by $5 billion by 2023 and take a larger bite out of the e-commerce market.
\n
Square (SQ)
\n
Square has turned into a new-age financial services juggernaut. It has posted stellar growth rates, delivering monster quarterly results and outperforming its already high expectations. It continues to expand its distinct ecosystems, which includes its and Seller and Cash App. Both ecosystems exhibit a $160 billion addressable market opportunity collectively. Moreover, SQ stock has generated over 130% returns in the past 12-months.
\n
The Cash App platform has been a key driver of the company’s growth. Its monthly active users have grown by 50% to over 36 million in 2020. Through its Bitcoin(CCC:BTC-USD) functionalities and the impact of the Cash Card, it creates several monetization opportunities. Additionally, the re-opening of the U.S. and the worldwide economy will propel the stock further as more small and medium-sized enterprises regain their footing.
\n
Snap (SNAP)
\n
Social media giant Snap was in a tough spot a couple of years ago, as its user base stagnated considerably. However, it is now back in the game with improvements in monetization, augmented reality and unique content. Analysts point towards multiple years of double-digit revenue growth ahead, and its high long-term margin structure makes SNAP stock a highly attractive investment.
\n
Daily Active Users (DAUs) for the company increased on a year-over-year basisin each of the four quarters last year. The trend continued in the first quarter, where its DAUs grew by a healthy 22%. Moreover, revenues in the quarter were up 66% year-over-year to $170 million. It has multiple monetization avenues left to explore, including Maps, Spotlight, Stories and others. Hence, with forward revenue estimates of roughly 50%, the company is in pole position to deliver strong returns for the foreseeable future.
\n
Alibaba Group (BABA)
\n
Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has been one of the fastest-growing companies in the past several years. In the past seven years, its business has grown at a spectacular 23.8% CAGR and is still growing at an impressive pace. Year-over-year revenue growth has been at a remarkable 41%, with forward estimates over 35%. Analysts believe that BABA stock could generate over 300% returns in the next five years.
\n
Alibaba has gone a great job of diversifying its income streams from its traditional retail business. Some of these include cloud computing, entertainment, digital media and others. Cloud computing, in particular, is an area where Alibaba will look to invest heavily in the coming years. The high-margin business will help narrow down its losses and open up new opportunities in adjacent areas.
\n
Etsy (ETSY)
\n
Etsy is an online niche marketplace with a wide and sustainable moat. It has witnessed massive growth during the pandemic, as its revenues increased by triple-digit percentages in the past four quarters. Its gross merchandise value (GMV) and revenues increased by roughly 106% and 111%, respectively, in 2020. Moreover, its EBITDA growth on a year-over-year basis is at a stunning 391%. No wonder ETSY stock has surged over 78% in the past 12 months.
\n
With last year’s blow-out performance, investors are worried about whether the company can continue its progress. Etsy is expanding its business through some smart acquisitions. It recently acquired Reverb and Depop to expand its music and fashion recommerce expertise. These acquisitions will also facilitate the company’s global outreach.Etsy posted a 141% year-over-year growth in its first quarter, which suggests that it isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
\n
Roku (ROKU)
\n
Streaming giant Roku has been on a roll in the past year, with its revenues and subscribers fueled by the pandemic. It gained an unbelievable 16.7 million new users during the pandemic and now has 53.6 million users. It is likely to achieve a record 65 million users by the conclusion of this year. With strong user monetization and active user growth, ROKU stock could potentially surge to new heights.
\n
Looking ahead, the company has multiple growth drivers which could push its stock price higher in the future. After all, they’ve worked hard to try to enjoy life as a senior and to not worry about their financial position. The best way to solve this problem is a well-rounded portfolio with the right balance of dividend, growth and value stocks. This article specifically focuses on the growth stocks to buy and how they can super-charge your retirement portfolio.\nGrowth stocks typically belong to those companies that are growing at an above-average rate in their respective industries. Moreover, these companies are poised to expand over a long-term horizon thanks to their ability to innovate and reinvent themselves. Growth investors look at forward profitability and cash flow metrics when picking out the best growth stocks to buy.\nWith that being said, this list below covers seven of the most promising growth stocks to buy, which will deliver returns across several markets.\n\nCloudflare(NYSE:NET)\nShopify(NYSE:SHOP)\nSquare(NYSE:SQ)\nSnap(NYSE:SNAP)\nAlibaba Group(NYSE:BABA)\nEtsy(NASDAQ:ETSY)\nRoku(NASDAQ:ROKU)\n\nCloudflare (NET)\nCloudflare has arguably one of the most active companies in the past year, launching more than 550 new products. The cloud platform has been growing rapidly and has expanded its total addressable market to over $70 billion. Additionally, it plans to spread into other profitable areas apart from its traditional content delivery services. Moreover, NET stock’s 12-month returns are at a staggering 180%.\nEarnings in the past year have been nothing short of amazing, with double-digit growth in revenues for the past three quarters. Year-over-year revenue growth is at a healthy 51%, with forward estimates at 42%. As it looks to expand its product suite into large TAM areas such as cybersecurity and MPLS/SD-WAN, it will continue to post strong sales numbers for the foreseeable future.\nShopify (SHOP)\nShopify is a leading merchant platform that has consistently delivered for its long-term investors. With businesses having to close down during the pandemic, Shopify became a beacon of hope for small merchants starting their online businesses. As a result, its year-over-year revenue growth is dumbfounding 99.6%, which dwarfs its competition. Hence, with a wide moat and the ability to constantly evolve more than justifies SHOP stocks lofty valuation.\n2020 was another stellar year for the company, but it looks like it still has multiple chapters to write in its growth story. Its fulfillment center strategy is one of them, giving Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) a run for its money. Moreover, its Payments division and international markets are two major catalysts for future growth. The company expects to grow its revenues by $5 billion by 2023 and take a larger bite out of the e-commerce market.\nSquare (SQ)\nSquare has turned into a new-age financial services juggernaut. It has posted stellar growth rates, delivering monster quarterly results and outperforming its already high expectations. It continues to expand its distinct ecosystems, which includes its and Seller and Cash App. Both ecosystems exhibit a $160 billion addressable market opportunity collectively. Moreover, SQ stock has generated over 130% returns in the past 12-months.\nThe Cash App platform has been a key driver of the company’s growth. Its monthly active users have grown by 50% to over 36 million in 2020. Through its Bitcoin(CCC:BTC-USD) functionalities and the impact of the Cash Card, it creates several monetization opportunities. Additionally, the re-opening of the U.S. and the worldwide economy will propel the stock further as more small and medium-sized enterprises regain their footing.\nSnap (SNAP)\nSocial media giant Snap was in a tough spot a couple of years ago, as its user base stagnated considerably. However, it is now back in the game with improvements in monetization, augmented reality and unique content. Analysts point towards multiple years of double-digit revenue growth ahead, and its high long-term margin structure makes SNAP stock a highly attractive investment.\nDaily Active Users (DAUs) for the company increased on a year-over-year basisin each of the four quarters last year. The trend continued in the first quarter, where its DAUs grew by a healthy 22%. Moreover, revenues in the quarter were up 66% year-over-year to $170 million. It has multiple monetization avenues left to explore, including Maps, Spotlight, Stories and others. Hence, with forward revenue estimates of roughly 50%, the company is in pole position to deliver strong returns for the foreseeable future.\nAlibaba Group (BABA)\nChinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has been one of the fastest-growing companies in the past several years. In the past seven years, its business has grown at a spectacular 23.8% CAGR and is still growing at an impressive pace. Year-over-year revenue growth has been at a remarkable 41%, with forward estimates over 35%. Analysts believe that BABA stock could generate over 300% returns in the next five years.\nAlibaba has gone a great job of diversifying its income streams from its traditional retail business. Some of these include cloud computing, entertainment, digital media and others. Cloud computing, in particular, is an area where Alibaba will look to invest heavily in the coming years. The high-margin business will help narrow down its losses and open up new opportunities in adjacent areas.\nEtsy (ETSY)\nEtsy is an online niche marketplace with a wide and sustainable moat. No wonder ETSY stock has surged over 78% in the past 12 months.\nWith last year’s blow-out performance, investors are worried about whether the company can continue its progress. Etsy is expanding its business through some smart acquisitions. It recently acquired Reverb and Depop to expand its music and fashion recommerce expertise. These acquisitions will also facilitate the company’s global outreach.Etsy posted a 141% year-over-year growth in its first quarter, which suggests that it isn’t slowing down anytime soon.\nRoku (ROKU)\nStreaming giant Roku has been on a roll in the past year, with its revenues and subscribers fueled by the pandemic. It gained an unbelievable 16.7 million new users during the pandemic and now has 53.6 million users. It is likely to achieve a record 65 million users by the conclusion of this year. With strong user monetization and active user growth, ROKU stock could potentially surge to new heights.\nLooking ahead, the company has multiple growth drivers which could push its stock price higher in the future. Its CTV ad segment, in particular, could pay a lot of dividends with the gradual shift from linear to CTV. Moreover, it continues to invest heavily in its content library, with its recent launch of Roku Originals and its acquisition of Saban Films. Hence, it has an incredible growth runway ahead and should continue posting strong top and bottom-line numbers.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":405,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":168486040,"gmtCreate":1623980927880,"gmtModify":1634024799446,"author":{"id":"3555324457832945","authorId":"3555324457832945","name":"Wil_Huat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5a6c13a295e6824aa359dede926d515","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[看涨] ","listText":"[看涨] ","text":"[看涨]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/168486040","repostId":"1175693382","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1175693382","pubTimestamp":1623978463,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1175693382?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-18 09:07","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Alibaba Stock: The Bottoming Process Looks To Be Forming Already","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1175693382","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Alibaba is probably the most undervalued growth stock right now.The company’s multiple growth drivers within a rapidly expanding market made its valuations look even more baffling. The short term technical picture may be turning bullish with a potential double bottom price action signal. When we take things into clearer perspective by comparing China’s growth rate and size of its market to that of the U.S. e-commerce market, we could see the huge differences in their sizes and growth rates as the ","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
Alibaba is probably the most undervalued growth stock right now.
\n
The company’s multiple growth drivers within a rapidly expanding market made its valuations look even more baffling.
\n
The short term technical picture may be turning bullish with a potential double bottom price action signal.
\n
We discuss the company’s multiple growth drivers and let investors judge for themselves.
\n
\n
Yongyuan Dai/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images
\n
The Technical Thesis
\n
Source: TradingView
\n
Alibaba’s stock price has endured a terrible 8 months ever since its Ant Financial IPO was pulled in early Nov 20, with the stock languishing in the doldrums 34% off its high. When considering the health of its long term uptrend, it’s clear that BABA has a relatively strong uptrend bias and has generally been well supported along its key 50W MA. The only other time in the last 4 years that it lost its key 50W MA support level was during the 2018 bear market where BABA dropped about 40%, but was still well supported above the important 200W MA, which we usually consider as the “last line of defense”. Right now BABA is somewhat facing a similar situation again: down 34%, lost the 50W MA, but looks to be well supported above the 200W MA. In addition to that, one interesting observation in price action analysis may lead price action traders/investors to be especially bullish: a potential double bottom formation. BABA's price is seemingly going through a double bottom like it did during the 2018 bear market before it rallied strongly thereafter. As a result, BABA’s current level may offer a possible technical buy entry point now.
\n
BABA's Fundamental Thesis: Rapidly Expanding Growth Drivers
\n
Annual GMV. Data source: Company filings
\n
BABA’s GMV grew from 1.68T yuan to 7.49T yuan in just a matter of 7 years, which represented a CAGR of 23.8%, a truly amazing growth rate. We also saw its GMV growth being converted into revenue growth as its China commerce revenue grew from 7.67B yuan to 473.68B yuan, at a CAGR of 51% over the last 10 years. While its international footprint remains considerably smaller, it still grew at a CAGR of 30.42% over the last 10 years, which was by no means slow.
\n
Even though China’s e-commerce market is expected to grow considerably slower at a CAGR of 12.4% over the next three years, from 13.8T yuan, equivalent to $2.16T in 2021 to 19.6T yuan, equivalent to $3.06T by 2024, the massive size of the market still offers tremendous upside potential for BABA and its closest competitors to grow into.
\n
E-commerce revenue in the U.S. Data source: Statista
\n
When we take things into clearer perspective by comparing China’s growth rate and size of its market to that of the U.S. e-commerce market, we could see the huge differences in their sizes and growth rates as the U.S. e-commerce market is only expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.67% from 2021 to 2025, which is significantly slower than China’s 12.4%. In addition, the U.S. market is also expected to reach about $563B in total revenue, which is 18% of what the China market is expected to be worth by then.
\n
Peers EBIT Margin and Projected EBIT Margin. Data source: S&P Capital IQ
\n
Even though Alibaba has been facing increased competitive pressures from its fast growing key competitors: JD.com(NASDAQ:JD)and Pinduoduo(NASDAQ:PDD), BABA has already been operating a much more profitable business (both EBIT and FCF), and is expected to continue delivering strong profitability moving forward, which should give the company tremendous flexibility to compete head on with JD and PDD in its quest to extend its leadership. Investors may observe that BABA’s EBIT margin was affected by the one-off administrative penalty of $2,782M that was reflected in its SG&A, and therefore skewed its EBIT margin to the downside.
\n
One important move was the company’s decision to further its investment in the Community Marketplace, which is PDD’s main e-commerce strategy that saw PDD gain a total of 823M AAC in its latest quarter as compared to BABA’s 891M AAC. PDD’s AAC growth is truly phenomenal considering it had only 100M AAC in Q2’C17 as compared to BABA’s 466M AAC in the same period.
\n
Therefore, the momentum of growth has surely swung over to the Community Marketplace segment and BABA would need to pull out its big guns (which it has) to compete for dominance with PDD and JD.
\n
Market size of community group buying in China. Data source: iiMedia Research
\n
Even though the expected total market size of 102B yuan by 2022 represented only about 21.5% of BABA’s FY 21 China commerce revenue, the expected rapid CAGR of 44.22% over 3 years from 2019 to 2022 cannot be missed by BABA. Although the market is still relatively small, BABA cannot allow the current leader in this market: PDD to so easily dominate and gobble up the early high growth rates at the ignorance of everyone else. Certainly BABA must compete and fight for its place in this segment and strive for early leadership to prevent PDD from extending its lead.
\n
PDD profitability metrics & revenue growth forecast. Data source: S&P Capital IQ
\n
We could observe from the above chart that PDD is expected to continue growing its revenue rapidly over the next few years, even though they are expected to normalize subsequently. More importantly, PDD is also expected to increasingly improve its EBIT and FCF profitability moving forward. This shows that the Community Marketplace segment is an highly important growth driver that BABA must use its strength to exploit in order to deny PDD’s claim to undisputed leadership so early on in the game.
\n
China public cloud spending. Data source: CAICT; Sina.com.cn
\n
BABA has a 40% share in China’s public cloud market, way ahead of its key competitors. However, it’s important to note that despite this leadership, BABA is still in heavy investment mode to continue growing its market share as China’s public cloud market is expected to grow from 26.48B yuan in 2017 to 230.74B yuan by 2023, which would represent a CAGR of 43.4%, an incredibly stellar growth rate. This is especially clear when we compare China’s growth rate to the worldwide growth rate (see below) as public cloud spending worldwide is expected to grow from $145B in 2017 to $397B by 2022, that would represent a CAGR of 22.3%.
\n
Worldwide public cloud spending. Source:CnTechPost; Gartner
\n
Therefore, I don’t find it surprising that Ali Cloud has continued to extend its lead over Alphabet’s(NASDAQ:GOOGL)(NASDAQ:GOOG)GCP with a market share of 9.5% in 2020. While AMZN remains the clear leader in the market, its market share has been coming down considerably as public cloud spending continues to expand, indicating that there is a huge potential for growth for multiple players to exist. With BABA’s leadership in the rapidly expanding Chinese market, I’m increasingly bullish on the future profit and FCF contribution from this segment to BABA’s performance over time. Although BABA’s cloud segment has not been EBIT profitable yet (FY 21 EBIT margin: -15%, FY 20 EBIT margin: -17.5%), it’s also useful to note that GCP has also not been profitable for Alphabet as well (FY 20 EBIT margin: -42.9%, FY 19 EBIT margin: -52%). Therefore, we need to give BABA some time to scale up its cloud services in APAC and in China where it is expected to have stronger leadership to allow it to grow faster and investors should expect this to be a highly profitable segment over time.
\n
BABA's Valuations Look Highly Compelling
\n
NTM TEV / EBIT 3Y range.
\n
EV / Fwd EBIT and EV / Fwd Rev trend. Data source: S&P Capital IQ
\n
When we consider BABA's TEV / EBIT historical range, where the 3Y mean read 33.54x, BABA’s EV / Fwd EBIT trend certainly imply a hugely undervalued stock as BABA is still expected to grow its revenue and operating profits rapidly. However, as we wanted to obtain greater clarity over how its counterparts are also valued, we thought it would be useful if we value BABA’s EBIT over a set of benchmark companies that is presented below.
\n
Peers EV / EBIT Valuations. Data source: S&P Capital IQ
\n
By using a blend of historical and forward EBIT, we could see that BABA’s EV / EBIT really looks undervalued when compared to the median value of the set of observed values from the benchmark companies. We derived a fair value range for BABA of $294.98 at the midpoint of the range, that represented a potential upside of 40.5% based on the current stock price of $210.
\n
Risks to Assumptions
\n
Now, it’s obviously baffling to watch how Mr. Market has decided to discount BABA to such an extent as if the company has lost all its key sources of growth, when in fact there is still so much potential upside coming from its commerce segment, the new marketplace initiatives and its growing Ali Cloud segment, among others. The main realistic reason that we identified for the stock's underperformance would simply be regulatory risk. We think investors should acknowledge that this risk is very real and at times huge Chinese companies have found themselves to be subjected to extra scrutiny (which is nothing new in fact) by the Chinese government. What’s critical here is that the Chinese government seemingly has significant clout over the behavior and actions of their tech behemoths that at times may be largely unpredictable. The market certainly hates unpredictability and therefore they may have significantly discounted BABA as a result of that. As a result, BABA’s current level may offer a possible technical buy entry point now.\nBABA's Fundamental Thesis: Rapidly Expanding Growth Drivers\nAnnual GMV. Data source: Company filings\nAnnual e-commerce revenue. Data source: Company filings\nBABA’s GMV grew from 1.68T yuan to 7.49T yuan in just a matter of 7 years, which represented a CAGR of 23.8%, a truly amazing growth rate. We also saw its GMV growth being converted into revenue growth as its China commerce revenue grew from 7.67B yuan to 473.68B yuan, at a CAGR of 51% over the last 10 years. While its international footprint remains considerably smaller, it still grew at a CAGR of 30.42% over the last 10 years, which was by no means slow.\nEven though China’s e-commerce market is expected to grow considerably slower at a CAGR of 12.4% over the next three years, from 13.8T yuan, equivalent to $2.16T in 2021 to 19.6T yuan, equivalent to $3.06T by 2024, the massive size of the market still offers tremendous upside potential for BABA and its closest competitors to grow into.\nE-commerce revenue in the U.S. Data source: Statista\nWhen we take things into clearer perspective by comparing China’s growth rate and size of its market to that of the U.S. e-commerce market, we could see the huge differences in their sizes and growth rates as the U.S. e-commerce market is only expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.67% from 2021 to 2025, which is significantly slower than China’s 12.4%. In addition, the U.S. market is also expected to reach about $563B in total revenue, which is 18% of what the China market is expected to be worth by then.\nPeers EBIT Margin and Projected EBIT Margin. Data source: S&P Capital IQ\nEven though Alibaba has been facing increased competitive pressures from its fast growing key competitors: JD.com(NASDAQ:JD)and Pinduoduo(NASDAQ:PDD), BABA has already been operating a much more profitable business (both EBIT and FCF), and is expected to continue delivering strong profitability moving forward, which should give the company tremendous flexibility to compete head on with JD and PDD in its quest to extend its leadership. Investors may observe that BABA’s EBIT margin was affected by the one-off administrative penalty of $2,782M that was reflected in its SG&A, and therefore skewed its EBIT margin to the downside.\nOne important move was the company’s decision to further its investment in the Community Marketplace, which is PDD’s main e-commerce strategy that saw PDD gain a total of 823M AAC in its latest quarter as compared to BABA’s 891M AAC. PDD’s AAC growth is truly phenomenal considering it had only 100M AAC in Q2’C17 as compared to BABA’s 466M AAC in the same period.\nTherefore, the momentum of growth has surely swung over to the Community Marketplace segment and BABA would need to pull out its big guns (which it has) to compete for dominance with PDD and JD.\nMarket size of community group buying in China. Data source: iiMedia Research\nEven though the expected total market size of 102B yuan by 2022 represented only about 21.5% of BABA’s FY 21 China commerce revenue, the expected rapid CAGR of 44.22% over 3 years from 2019 to 2022 cannot be missed by BABA. Although the market is still relatively small, BABA cannot allow the current leader in this market: PDD to so easily dominate and gobble up the early high growth rates at the ignorance of everyone else. Certainly BABA must compete and fight for its place in this segment and strive for early leadership to prevent PDD from extending its lead.\nPDD profitability metrics & revenue growth forecast. Data source: S&P Capital IQ\nWe could observe from the above chart that PDD is expected to continue growing its revenue rapidly over the next few years, even though they are expected to normalize subsequently. More importantly, PDD is also expected to increasingly improve its EBIT and FCF profitability moving forward. This shows that the Community Marketplace segment is an highly important growth driver that BABA must use its strength to exploit in order to deny PDD’s claim to undisputed leadership so early on in the game.\nChina public cloud spending. Source:China Internet Watch; Canalys\nSize of China public cloud market. Data source: CAICT; Sina.com.cn\nBABA has a 40% share in China’s public cloud market, way ahead of its key competitors. This is especially clear when we compare China’s growth rate to the worldwide growth rate (see below) as public cloud spending worldwide is expected to grow from $145B in 2017 to $397B by 2022, that would represent a CAGR of 22.3%.\nWorldwide public cloud spending. Data source: Gartner\nWorldwide public cloud market share. Source:CnTechPost; Gartner\nTherefore, I don’t find it surprising that Ali Cloud has continued to extend its lead over Alphabet’s(NASDAQ:GOOGL)(NASDAQ:GOOG)GCP with a market share of 9.5% in 2020. Therefore, we need to give BABA some time to scale up its cloud services in APAC and in China where it is expected to have stronger leadership to allow it to grow faster and investors should expect this to be a highly profitable segment over time.\nBABA's Valuations Look Highly Compelling\nNTM TEV / EBIT 3Y range.\nEV / Fwd EBIT and EV / Fwd Rev trend. Data source: S&P Capital IQ\nWhen we consider BABA's TEV / EBIT historical range, where the 3Y mean read 33.54x, BABA’s EV / Fwd EBIT trend certainly imply a hugely undervalued stock as BABA is still expected to grow its revenue and operating profits rapidly. However, as we wanted to obtain greater clarity over how its counterparts are also valued, we thought it would be useful if we value BABA’s EBIT over a set of benchmark companies that is presented below.\nPeers EV / EBIT Valuations. Data source: S&P Capital IQ\nBy using a blend of historical and forward EBIT, we could see that BABA’s EV / EBIT really looks undervalued when compared to the median value of the set of observed values from the benchmark companies. We derived a fair value range for BABA of $294.98 at the midpoint of the range, that represented a potential upside of 40.5% based on the current stock price of $210.\nRisks to Assumptions\nNow, it’s obviously baffling to watch how Mr. If investors are not able to handle uncertainty with regard to potentially unpredictable regulatory actions and their aftermath, then BABA may not be appropriate for you. However, if you believe that this is just a blip in BABA’s long journey, then you would surely find BABA's valuations extremely attractive right now, coupled with a long term mindset.\nWrapping It All Up\nAlibaba has continued to deliver solid results that demonstrated the strong capability of the company to execute well. As the company continues to operate within a market with so many growth drivers that are expected to drive the company’s future growth, investors should find the current valuations highly attractive.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":234,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":185198607,"gmtCreate":1623635820709,"gmtModify":1634030883945,"author":{"id":"3555324457832945","authorId":"3555324457832945","name":"Wil_Huat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5a6c13a295e6824aa359dede926d515","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[看涨] ","listText":"[看涨] ","text":"[看涨]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/185198607","repostId":"2143857187","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2143857187","pubTimestamp":1623632067,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2143857187?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-14 08:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla’s Growth could be Headed for a U-Turn","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2143857187","media":"TipRanks","summary":"A flurry of bearish catalysts for Tesla (TSLA) stock appear to be piling up. Investors who have bought and held this stock over the past decade have seen absolutely insane returns. The question of whether Tesla has grown to a size that doesn’t make sense anymore is a topic of conversation for many investors.\nAt this point, the company has been valued at just shy of $600 billion. (See Tesla stock analysis on TipRanks)\nFor investors on the fence with Tesla, it pays to be aware of some bearish catalysts facing Tesla stock right now.\nTesla Stock Could be In For Some Pain\nThere are several pertinent bearish catalysts about which Tesla investors could be cautious.\nFor one, broadly speaking, EV stocks have been hit by inflation-induced bond yield increases in recent months. Indeed, all growth stocks have this headwind to contend with at the moment. Additionally, as has been known for awhile, a global EV chip shortage is threatening production numbers for all high-growth EV players such as Tesla.\nMoreover, earnings quality has become a big issue for investors. The fact that Tesla’s still losing a ton of money making electric vehicles, yet is able to report a profit due to unsustainable cash flow streams (namely, Bitcoin trading and the sale of emissions credits), is worrisome to many long-term investors.\nAlso, valuation concerns have begun to take hold with Tesla stock. This stock still trades at more than 16 times sales and 600 times earnings. As mentioned above, those earnings primarily comprise non-operating profits.\nOne of the most famous investors of our time, Michael Burry, who is known for his role in The Big Short, has placed an absolutely massive short bet on Tesla. His recently-filed form 13-F spells out an incredible short, the likes of which we haven’t seen in a long time. Obviously, Burry is not predicting continued growth for Tesla.\nAnother worry concerns Chinese orders for Tesla vehicles, which were nearly cut in half last month. This comes as U.S.-China tensions ramp up. China is the largest global market for electric vehicles, accounting for approximately one half of the global EV market. Thus, Tesla’s key growth engine appears to be revving down considerably.\nFinally, the intense level of competition in the global EV market is heating up in an incredible fashion. Competitors are producing more EVs at better price points than Tesla. Their EVs offer technological improvements and product enhancements that close the rather large gap Tesla had in this regard not too long ago.\nHow Much Weight Should Investors Give These Catalysts?\nInvestors in Tesla may still argue that there are reasons to own Tesla stock. Among the key reasons to be bullish on Tesla are Gigafactory projects in Berlin and Texas. Tesla believers are hopeful these projects will be able to potentially increase production capacity by as much as 500% overall.\nHowever, given global chip shortage issues and the rise of competitive forces and nationalistic endeavors from key markets such as China, the global sales outlook for Tesla may simply not be as bright as many Tesla investors may want to believe. Producing cars is fantastic. However, it’s unclear whether Tesla will see the kind of sales numbers materialize in a few years’ time when more players hit the market and aggressively compete for the growing market Tesla has (mostly) had all to itself for quite some time.\nAdditionally, CEO Elon Musk has continued to promise full self driving technology and robotaxis for years. While these have yet to materialize, one Chinese company Baidu (BIDU) has already launched a fully autonomous robotaxi service in Beijing. Accordingly, this is a technological race it appears Elon Musk’s team has lost.\nWhat Analysts Are Saying About TSLA Stock\nAccording to TipRanks’ analyst rating consensus, TSLA stock comes in as a Hold. Out of 23 analyst ratings, there are 10 Buy recommendations, 7 Hold recommendations, and 6 Sell recommendations.\nAs for price targets, the average analyst price target is $639.81, with a potential upside of 4.9%. Analyst price targets range from a low of $67.00 per share to a high of $1,080.00 per share.\n\nBottom Line\nTesla is a mega-cap company for a reason. This company’s brand and passionate CEO are the reasons most investors continue to hold on to these shares.\nHowever, given other recent catalysts bearish to the Tesla discussion, there may be more downside on the horizon.\nInvestors should always be reminded that trees don’t grow all the way to the sky. When stocks get this large, growth tends to slow. It is wise for investors to remain cautious about placing outlandish growth expectations on companies valued as highly as Tesla. At some point, the valuation stops making sense.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":513,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":188656616,"gmtCreate":1623435031035,"gmtModify":1634033194373,"author":{"id":"3555324457832945","authorId":"3555324457832945","name":"Wil_Huat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5a6c13a295e6824aa359dede926d515","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[哇塞] ","listText":"[哇塞] ","text":"[哇塞]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/188656616","repostId":"1135185071","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":386,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":183489658,"gmtCreate":1623340745974,"gmtModify":1634034363910,"author":{"id":"3555324457832945","authorId":"3555324457832945","name":"Wil_Huat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5a6c13a295e6824aa359dede926d515","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[看涨] ","listText":"[看涨] ","text":"[看涨]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/183489658","repostId":"1107871315","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":213,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":115169444,"gmtCreate":1622959552888,"gmtModify":1634096556986,"author":{"id":"3555324457832945","authorId":"3555324457832945","name":"Wil_Huat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5a6c13a295e6824aa359dede926d515","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[财迷] ","listText":"[财迷] ","text":"[财迷]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/115169444","repostId":"1128534499","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":190,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":313335862,"gmtCreate":1611665624256,"gmtModify":1703752075661,"author":{"id":"3555324457832945","authorId":"3555324457832945","name":"Wil_Huat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5a6c13a295e6824aa359dede926d515","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[开心] ","listText":"[开心] ","text":"[开心]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/313335862","repostId":"2106476893","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2106476893","pubTimestamp":1611652121,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2106476893?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-01-26 17:08","market":"sg","language":"en","title":"Singapore's FDI flows were down 37% in 2020","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2106476893","media":"businesstimes","summary":"\n \n FOREIGN direct investment (FDI) flows into Singapore fell by 37 per cent to US$58 billion last year, noted an Investment Trends Monitor report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad).\n \n","content":"
\n
FOREIGN direct investment (FDI) flows into Singapore fell by 37 per cent to US$58 billion last year, noted an Investment Trends Monitor report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"bustime_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The collapse left FDI flows more than 30 per cent beneath the trough that followed the global financial crisis in 2009.\nHowever, Singapore's fall in FDI was steeper than that for Asean as a whole, where FDI fell by 31 per cent to US$107 billion.\nWithin Asean, Malaysia experienced the steepest decline, with FDI plunging by 68 per cent to US$2.5 billion. FDI fell in Thailand by 50 per cent to US$1.5 billion, in Indonesia by 24 per cent to US$18 billion, and in Vietnam by 10 per cent to US$14 billion. The Philippines bucked the trend; its FDI flows rose by 29 per cent to US$6.4 billion.\nNevertheless, the report said the strength of South-east Asia as an FDI engine remained evident. South-East Asia registered over US$70 billion in new greenfield investment projects last year, the largest volume among developing regions. This was a more moderate contraction in announced greenfield investments (-14 per cent) than in other developing regions.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":96,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":150179077,"gmtCreate":1624891109999,"gmtModify":1633947394062,"author":{"id":"3555324457832945","authorId":"3555324457832945","name":"Wil_Huat","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c5a6c13a295e6824aa359dede926d515","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[龇牙]
