Apple(NASDAQ:AAPL)finished Friday with a valuation of $2.944 trillion, so all Wall Street needs to do now is add $56 billion to the iPhone maker's stock value and Apple (AAPL) will stand alone in the $3 trillion club.
\n
To put that amount in some perspective, Apple (AAPL) became the first company to hit $1 trillion in market cap in 2018--or, 42 years after Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple (AAPL) in a garage in Cupertino, Calif. Apple(NASDAQ:AAPL)finished Friday with a valuation of $2.944 trillion, so all Wall Street needs to do now is add $56 billion to the iPhone maker's stock value and Apple (AAPL) will stand alone in the $3 trillion club.\nTo put that amount in some perspective, Apple (AAPL) became the first company to hit $1 trillion in market cap in 2018--or, 42 years after Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple (AAPL) in a garage in Cupertino, Calif. It then took Apple just until 2020 to reach $2 trillion in market cap. Despite its worsening financial situation, shares have skyrocketed 2,600% this year. And while there is something charming about individual investors upending Wall Street, AMC stock is poised to disappoint.
\n
Rather than chasing meme-stocks, investors should consider buying Cloudflare (NYSE:NET). This company is growing quickly and its future looks bright. Here's why.
\n
AMC Entertainment
\n
Perhaps, the most important thing investors should know about AMC is something the company itself mentioned in a recent 8-K Filing: \"We believe that recent volatility and our current market prices reflect [dynamics] unrelated to our underlying business.\"
\n
The statement goes on to caution investors against buying stock unless they are prepared to lose all or a significant portion of their investment. Of course, you should never invest money you can't afford to lose, but this dire warning should still rattle current and prospective shareholders.
\n
If you're not convinced, let's look at AMC's financial results. Last year, attendance and revenue fell 79% and 77%, respectively. And despite reopening roughly one-third of its international theaters and two-thirds of its domestic theaters, its performance has actually worsened this year. Attendance and revenue plunged 89% and 84%, respectively, during the first quarter.
\n
Understandably, some investors are hoping things improve as the economy reopens. But that may be too late -- the competitive landscape has already shifted dramatically.
\n
During the pandemic, streaming services like HBO Max and Peacock went live, Disney+ started taking titles directly to consumers, and Universal Studios cut the theatrical exclusivity window to 17 days -- prior to the pandemic, AMC retained exclusive rights for about 90 days. Put simply, the company is facing more competition than ever before.
\n
As a final thought, in a recent 10-Q Filing with the SEC, AMC explained that it will need to reach 85% of pre-pandemic attendance levels by the fourth quarter of 2021 in order to comply with minimum liquidity requirements. If that doesn't happen, bankruptcy would likely be the next step, which means shareholders would \"suffer a total loss of their investment.\"
\n
Cloudflare
\n
Cloudflare is a cloud services provider. Its platform helps clients secure and accelerate the performance of websites and applications. For example, it recently launched Cloudflare One, a network-as-a-service solution designed to replace outdated corporate networks.
\n
Traditionally, enterprises have taken a castle-and-moat approach to network security. All sensitive data was stored in a central location, and firewall appliances and internet gateways were used to filter incoming and outgoing traffic. This was both costly and inefficient, often resulting in lag time for remote workers.
\n
By comparison, Cloudflare One acts as a secure access service edge (SASE). Rather than sending traffic through a central hub, SASE is a distributed network architecture. This means employees connect to Cloudflare's network, where traffic is filtered and security policies are enforced, then traffic is routed to the internet or the corporate network.
\n
This creates a fast, secure experience for employees, allowing them to access corporate resources and applications from any location, on any device. Moreover, according to research firm Gartner, 40% of enterprises will have plans to adopt SASE by 2024, up from just 1% in 2018. That radical shift gives Cloudflare a big opportunity.
\n
More importantly, the company is executing on that opportunity. On Sunday, Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the National Institutes of Health, said boosters would likely be needed sooner rather than later.\n\"There is a concern that the vaccine may start to wane in its effectiveness,\" Collins said Sunday, according to the Associated Press. \"And delta is a nasty one for us to try to deal with. The combination of those two means we may need boosters, maybe beginning first with health-care providers, as well as people in nursing homes, and then gradually moving forward\" with others.\nEarlier Monday, Pfizer and BioNTech submitted initial data to the Food and Drug Administration to support authorization for a third dose of their vaccine. The companies said studies show antibody responses from people who received three shots were stronger than those who had received two, including against the delta variant.\nDr. Anthony Fauci, the White House's top pandemic adviser, said Sunday that whenever a booster is authorized, \"we will be absolutely prepared to do that very quickly.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":221,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":344984080,"gmtCreate":1618367321740,"gmtModify":1634293431926,"author":{"id":"3572943116519338","authorId":"3572943116519338","name":"yqqq","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572943116519338","authorIdStr":"3572943116519338"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$DED","listText":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$DED","text":"$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$DED","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a09373aedfe7b8c9f54eef92d7d6023c","width":"1125","height":"2183"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/344984080","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":264,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":167697557,"gmtCreate":1624263877179,"gmtModify":1634008716553,"author":{"id":"3572943116519338","authorId":"3572943116519338","name":"yqqq","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572943116519338","authorIdStr":"3572943116519338"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like my comments pls 🥳🥳🥳","listText":"Like my comments pls 🥳🥳🥳","text":"Like my comments pls 🥳🥳🥳","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/167697557","repostId":"1111222251","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1111222251","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1624259801,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1111222251?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-21 15:16","market":"us","language":"en","title":"30Y Treasury Yield Tumbles Below 2.00%, Japanese Stocks Plunge","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1111222251","media":"zerohedge","summary":"Short-dated Treasury yields are extending their rise from Friday's bloodbath as the collapse of the ","content":"
Short-dated Treasury yields are extending their rise from Friday's bloodbath as the collapse of the long-end of the term structure accelerates in early Asia trading.
\n
2Y is back above the Fed Funds rate...
\n
Source: Bloomberg
\n
and 30Y yields are back below 2.00%...
\n

\n
... for the first time since March...
\n
Source: Bloomberg
\n
10Y yields are at their lowest since early March...
\n
Source: Bloomberg
\n
And Japanese equity markets are none too happy with Powell's policy error malarkey...
\n
Source: Bloomberg
\n
AsLance Roberts noted earlier, there have been ZERO times in history when the Fed started a rate hiking campaign that did not lead to a negative outcome. We suggest this time won’t be any different.
\n

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Other prominent names in the space have even lower dividend yields. France's Total SA (NYSE: TTE)has a 7.3% yield. And while some may argue that it's an oil stock, TotalEnergies has a long history in renewable power with even bigger plans for the future. Dividend-focused investors like myself would do well to take a close look.
\n
Stating the obvious right up front, TotalEnergies has a long history behind it as one of the world's largest integrated oil majors. Moreover, its results are still tied tightly to the ups and downs of the oil and natural gas markets. But there's an important shift in the works. In fact, the change is so big that the company changed its name from just Total to TotalEnergies to highlight its clean-energy aspirations.
\n
The current goal is to grow the \"electrons\" division from 5% of the company to 15% by 2030. Before pooh-poohing that goal, step back and look at the bigger picture here. TotalEnergies is basically looking to triple the size of its clean energy business in about one decade. The company has a $110 billion market cap, so that's no small effort. For comparison, Brookfield Renewable Partners' market cap is roughly $11 billion. Put simply, TotalEnergies' plan is likely to put it among the largest players in the clean-energy space.
\n
But this isn't some bright new idea that management cooked up to appease investors. It has been working in the renewable arena for some time. For example, it bought a stake in SunPower roughly a decade ago. And it has continued to invest in the space in the years since, including some pretty sizable deals. Total is even willing to speed up its planned pace if that is what the broader world wants, based on recent comments from management. This is, perhaps, even more telling than the company's 15% target mentioned above, because it makes clear that TotalEnergies wants to change with society to be a key energy provider, in whatever form that requires.
\n
The old builds the new
\n
This is why TotalEnergies isn't simply abandoning its carbon fuels business. The world still needs and wants oil and natural gas. Even in the most aggressive clean-energy scenarios, these fuels remain important to the global energy mix for decades to come. TotalEnergies has a long and successful history in the space, so it might as well continue to participate. That said, it intends to shift toward cleaner-burning natural gas, limiting its oil investments to only its best opportunities.
\n

\n
BEP DIVIDEND YIELDDATA BYYCHARTS
\n
This, however, is important. The oil and gas business, though volatile, can be highly profitable. For example, the energy giant generated a huge $13.1 billion in cash flow in the first half of 2021. Obviously a good chunk of that is earmarked for the dividend and investment in the carbon fuels business. However, the goal is to earmark around 15% of the company's capital spending budget to clean energy between 2021 and 2025, but not less than $2 billion a year. Think back to Brookfield Renewable Power -- in five years TotalEnergies' capital spending plans will roughly approximate the size of the master limited partnership.
\n
Most of that money is going to be provided by the cash-cow carbon business. So by providing an energy source the world still needs, TotalEnergies is funding its repositioning effort. Other prominent names in the space have even lower dividend yields. France's Total SA (NYSE: TTE)has a 7.3% yield. And while some may argue that it's an oil stock, TotalEnergies has a long history in renewable power with even bigger plans for the future. Dividend-focused investors like myself would do well to take a close look.\nStating the obvious right up front, TotalEnergies has a long history behind it as one of the world's largest integrated oil majors. Moreover, its results are still tied tightly to the ups and downs of the oil and natural gas markets. But there's an important shift in the works. In fact, the change is so big that the company changed its name from just Total to TotalEnergies to highlight its clean-energy aspirations.\nThe current goal is to grow the \"electrons\" division from 5% of the company to 15% by 2030. Put simply, TotalEnergies' plan is likely to put it among the largest players in the clean-energy space.\nBut this isn't some bright new idea that management cooked up to appease investors. This is, perhaps, even more telling than the company's 15% target mentioned above, because it makes clear that TotalEnergies wants to change with society to be a key energy provider, in whatever form that requires.\nThe old builds the new\nThis is why TotalEnergies isn't simply abandoning its carbon fuels business. The world still needs and wants oil and natural gas. Even in the most aggressive clean-energy scenarios, these fuels remain important to the global energy mix for decades to come. TotalEnergies has a long and successful history in the space, so it might as well continue to participate. That said, it intends to shift toward cleaner-burning natural gas, limiting its oil investments to only its best opportunities.\n\nBEP DIVIDEND YIELDDATA BYYCHARTS\nThis, however, is important. Think back to Brookfield Renewable Power -- in five years TotalEnergies' capital spending plans will roughly approximate the size of the master limited partnership.\nMost of that money is going to be provided by the cash-cow carbon business. So by providing an energy source the world still needs, TotalEnergies is funding its repositioning effort. That sounds like a win-win to me, especially since I get to collect a huge 7% dividend along the way.\nNot pure, but definitely compelling\nIf you're looking for a focused clean-energy stock, TotalEnergies probably won't interest you. However, if you take a realistic look at the world, which is still only working toward a clean-energy transition, the oil giant looks to be positioning itself for long-term success as the energy landscape shifts. That's a business decision that still sounds rock solid to me, and I'm happy to own the stock today.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":121,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":329591982,"gmtCreate":1615255843946,"gmtModify":1703486331814,"author":{"id":"3572943116519338","authorId":"3572943116519338","name":"yqqq","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3572943116519338","authorIdStr":"3572943116519338"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment please!! 😊😊","listText":"Like and comment please!! 😊😊","text":"Like and comment please!! 😊😊","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/329591982","repostId":"2118669701","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2118669701","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Dow Jones publishes the world’s most trusted business news and financial information in a variety of media.","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Dow Jones","id":"106","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/150f88aa4d182df19190059f4a365e99"},"pubTimestamp":1615249800,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2118669701?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-09 08:30","market":"hk","language":"en","title":"7 reasons to buy stock-market dips even as yields rise, says Fundstrat's Tom Lee","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2118669701","media":"Dow Jones","summary":"Volatility is the name of the game in March, and knowing how best to play those dips may be the name","content":"
Volatility is the name of the game in March, and knowing how best to play those dips may be the name of the game in 2021.
\n
After a strong start to the year, the past several weeks have given way to outsize market swings as a rise in rates for benchmark Treasurys makes high-flying, speculative investments that prospered at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. look awfully pricey.
\n
The 10-year note yield briefly rose as high as 1.610% on Monday, surpassing the 1.609% hit when Treasurys sold off sharply on Feb. 25, according to Tradeweb. It's","content":"
It's arguable that travel stocks were the hardest hit by the COVID-19, including cruise stocks. It's estimated that in Europe alone, over 200,000 jobs have been lost in the industry and dependent sectors since March 2020, and 18 cruise ships have been scrapped or sold. The sector lost an estimated $50 billion and 1.17 million jobs worldwide.
\n
But with vaccines rolling out and countries opening their doors to tourists once again, the cruise industry is angling for a revival. Travelers, tour operators, and investors are all watching carefully to see what happens next to cruise stocks.
\n
Early pessimism was proved unfounded
\n
Cruise ships already had a patchy reputation for health, and concerns over environmental damage and overtourism didn't help. And then the pandemic hit hard. In early 2020, there were a number of coronavirus outbreaks on cruise ships, causing multiple deaths and trapping passengers on board. In Australia, for example, the Ruby Princess was linked to over 900 cases and 28 deaths - a lot for a country with 910 total deaths.
\n
One survey in late 2020 found that 47% of participants didn’t trust cruise lines to look after them if something went wrong, and 67% were less willing to take a cruise as a result of the pandemic. Alongside concerns over traveler demand, cruise lines worried about how long it would be before countries opened their ports and permitted travelers to disembark.
\n
Allan E. Jordan, an industry expert, reported in February 2021 that \"forecasts are that it might be at least a year before the industry has restored a meaningful portion of its operations.\" But just a couple of months later, the outlook looks much more hopeful.
\n
Some travel prophets predicted that the industry would have to rely on loyal cruisers while it rebuilt trust, but early booking data includes many first-time travelers. Older tourists haven't been avoiding ships, either. “We really thought older people would be more cautious. Turns out they want to get out of the house, too,” said Royal Caribbean CEO Richard Fain.
\n
Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corp, agrees, noting “Demand will not be an issue for us; people are ready to sail. The challenge is to do so safely and with the support from governments.” Research conducted by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) found that two-thirds of people who have been on a cruise previously would go again within the next year, while 58% of new cruisers want to join one in the next few years.
\n
Vaccine rollout definitely helps. Cruise lines in the US have been fast-tracking vaccination for crew members, and the managing director of Silversea Cruises explained that swift vaccinations are the reason they were able to resume services to the Greek islands.
\n
Cruise lines are rebuilding trust
\n
When it comes to enticing travelers back on board, trust and risk perception is everything. Cruisers are generally thought to be a risk-averse group, and cruise ships were referred to as \"floating petri dishes.\"
\n
Cruise line managers are aware that they need to prove their competence, and they're doing everything they can to stress their safety profile and deliver transparency. The Royal Caribbean, for example, established a Healthy Cruising Panel. The CLIA has released detailed policies for cruise ship operators, including cleaning and hygiene protocols, and lower capacities.
\n
Companies are embracing technology to track passenger movements and enable contact-free interactions, assisted by the closed system on cruise ships. \"On a ship, tracking can have almost totalitarian features, without passengers being very aware of it,\" cruise analyst Thomas P. Illes says. \"Epidemiologists on land would love to have such track and trace capacities.\" Royal Caribbean rolled out mandatory waterproof bracelets for guests and implemented surveillance tech, in the form of facial and body recognition.
\n
Cruise lines also accept the need to offer flexible booking policies, raise on-board healthcare provision, and operate with transparency around the measures they'll take to deal with the \"inevitable\" cases that will appear on board.
\n
It's clear that there's a pent-up demand for cruise trips among consumers. Country restrictions and health guidelines, not demand, appear to be dictating the pace of reopening.
\n
The first signs of revival
\n
Limited cruises have been taking place in parts of Europe, Asia and the South Pacific since July 2020. Although only around 400,000 passengers and crew took part in 200 sailings, these \"cruises to nowhere\" are being touted by the CLIA as proof that it's possible to run coronavirus-free cruises.
\n
In December, Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas began operations out of Singapore, TUI Cruises, an affiliate of Royal Caribbean, has been sailing three ships in and out of the Canary Islands since November. The Royal Caribbean is taking bookings for cruises in the Mediterranean, Asia-Pacific, around the British Isles, and to the Bahamas for summer 2021; Norwegian Cruises has a trip planned for the Mediterranean in July; and Carnival Cruises looks forward to restarting cruises from Texas and Florida in July.
\n
There's still uncertainty around cruises departing from the US, because the CDC hasn't agreed to blanketly reopen ports, but the signs are positive. In May 2021, the CDC approved simulated cruise trials to test conditions, and invited cruise lines to apply for conditional sailing certificates. Royal Caribbean received approval on May 25th, followed by Carnival on May 28th. Both cruise operators have trips planned from the US for July, and Norwegian plans to sail to Alaska in August.
\n
The first ship to leave a US port this year on a revenue-raising run is a Royal Caribbean-owned Celebrity Cruises trip, heading to the Caribbean on June 26th. It's received approval to sail as long as the crew and passengers are 95% vaccinated.
\n
Investors are taking their cue
\n
Following a catastrophic year-plus, some investors may see cruise ship stocks as worth a buy. Sailing approvals for the Royal Caribbean and Carnival lines boosted stock performance for the sector as a whole, and those cruise lines which survived may have emerged stronger.
\n
Some industry insiders are discussing the potential for the sector to come back even better, having used the break to improve the environmental profile of their ships and develop sustainable tourism policies for the most over-visited destinations like Dubrovnik and Venice.
\n
The Royal Caribbean, in particular, has weathered the coronavirus storm relatively well. Although it announced a net loss of nearly $5.8 billion in 2020, that was lower than predicted and shares rose by about 8% over 5 trading days at the end of May. Consensus estimates indicate that ticket sales for 2022 amount to around $10.1 billion, only slightly below the $10.9 billion in revenue the company posted in 2019. Crucially, the company has plenty of liquidity for the foreseeable future, having raised approximately $9.3 billion in new capital.
\n
It's clear that cruise stocks aren't going to spring back to 2019 levels overnight, but there are good reasons to hope that they will find a way back to consistent profits. Either way, it's clearly far too early to mourn the demise of the cruise market.
\n
Important Disclosures:
\n
Fund holdings are subject to change and should not be considered recommendations to buy or sell any securities. And then the pandemic hit hard. In early 2020, there were a number of coronavirus outbreaks on cruise ships, causing multiple deaths and trapping passengers on board. In Australia, for example, the Ruby Princess was linked to over 900 cases and 28 deaths - a lot for a country with 910 total deaths.\nOne survey in late 2020 found that 47% of participants didn’t trust cruise lines to look after them if something went wrong, and 67% were less willing to take a cruise as a result of the pandemic. Alongside concerns over traveler demand, cruise lines worried about how long it would be before countries opened their ports and permitted travelers to disembark.\nAllan E. Jordan, an industry expert, reported in February 2021 that \"forecasts are that it might be at least a year before the industry has restored a meaningful portion of its operations.\" But just a couple of months later, the outlook looks much more hopeful.\nSome travel prophets predicted that the industry would have to rely on loyal cruisers while it rebuilt trust, but early booking data includes many first-time travelers. Older tourists haven't been avoiding ships, either. “We really thought older people would be more cautious. Turns out they want to get out of the house, too,” said Royal Caribbean CEO Richard Fain.\nArnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corp, agrees, noting “Demand will not be an issue for us; people are ready to sail. The challenge is to do so safely and with the support from governments.” Research conducted by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) found that two-thirds of people who have been on a cruise previously would go again within the next year, while 58% of new cruisers want to join one in the next few years.\nVaccine rollout definitely helps. Cruise lines in the US have been fast-tracking vaccination for crew members, and the managing director of Silversea Cruises explained that swift vaccinations are the reason they were able to resume services to the Greek islands.\nCruise lines are rebuilding trust\nWhen it comes to enticing travelers back on board, trust and risk perception is everything. Cruisers are generally thought to be a risk-averse group, and cruise ships were referred to as \"floating petri dishes.\"\nCruise line managers are aware that they need to prove their competence, and they're doing everything they can to stress their safety profile and deliver transparency. The Royal Caribbean, for example, established a Healthy Cruising Panel. The CLIA has released detailed policies for cruise ship operators, including cleaning and hygiene protocols, and lower capacities.\nCompanies are embracing technology to track passenger movements and enable contact-free interactions, assisted by the closed system on cruise ships. \"On a ship, tracking can have almost totalitarian features, without passengers being very aware of it,\" cruise analyst Thomas P. Illes says. \"Epidemiologists on land would love to have such track and trace capacities.\" Royal Caribbean rolled out mandatory waterproof bracelets for guests and implemented surveillance tech, in the form of facial and body recognition.\nCruise lines also accept the need to offer flexible booking policies, raise on-board healthcare provision, and operate with transparency around the measures they'll take to deal with the \"inevitable\" cases that will appear on board.\nIt's clear that there's a pent-up demand for cruise trips among consumers. Country restrictions and health guidelines, not demand, appear to be dictating the pace of reopening.\nThe first signs of revival\nLimited cruises have been taking place in parts of Europe, Asia and the South Pacific since July 2020. Although only around 400,000 passengers and crew took part in 200 sailings, these \"cruises to nowhere\" are being touted by the CLIA as proof that it's possible to run coronavirus-free cruises.\nIn December, Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas began operations out of Singapore, TUI Cruises, an affiliate of Royal Caribbean, has been sailing three ships in and out of the Canary Islands since November. The Royal Caribbean is taking bookings for cruises in the Mediterranean, Asia-Pacific, around the British Isles, and to the Bahamas for summer 2021; Norwegian Cruises has a trip planned for the Mediterranean in July; and Carnival Cruises looks forward to restarting cruises from Texas and Florida in July.\nThere's still uncertainty around cruises departing from the US, because the CDC hasn't agreed to blanketly reopen ports, but the signs are positive. In May 2021, the CDC approved simulated cruise trials to test conditions, and invited cruise lines to apply for conditional sailing certificates. Royal Caribbean received approval on May 25th, followed by Carnival on May 28th. Both cruise operators have trips planned from the US for July, and Norwegian plans to sail to Alaska in August.\nThe first ship to leave a US port this year on a revenue-raising run is a Royal Caribbean-owned Celebrity Cruises trip, heading to the Caribbean on June 26th. It's received approval to sail as long as the crew and passengers are 95% vaccinated.\nInvestors are taking their cue\nFollowing a catastrophic year-plus, some investors may see cruise ship stocks as worth a buy. Sailing approvals for the Royal Caribbean and Carnival lines boosted stock performance for the sector as a whole, and those cruise lines which survived may have emerged stronger.\nSome industry insiders are discussing the potential for the sector to come back even better, having used the break to improve the environmental profile of their ships and develop sustainable tourism policies for the most over-visited destinations like Dubrovnik and Venice.\nThe Royal Caribbean, in particular, has weathered the coronavirus storm relatively well. Crucially, the company has plenty of liquidity for the foreseeable future, having raised approximately $9.3 billion in new capital.\nIt's clear that cruise stocks aren't going to spring back to 2019 levels overnight, but there are good reasons to hope that they will find a way back to consistent profits. Either way, it's clearly far too early to mourn the demise of the cruise market.\nImportant Disclosures:\nFund holdings are subject to change and should not be considered recommendations to buy or sell any securities.
