(NYSE: UBER), the world's largest food delivery and ridesharing platform. The on-demand robotic delivery service will be available to Uber Eats customers starting in Los Angeles early next year.\nThe on-demand robotic delivery service will be available to Uber Eats customers starting in Los Angeles early next year.\nServe Robotics is shaping the future of sustainable, self-driving delivery. Founded in 2017 as the robotics division of Postmates, Serve is now an independent company on a mission to make delivery more affordable, sustainable and accessible for everyone. Guided by its proprietary autonomous technology, the company's self-driving robots have successfully completed tens of thousands of contactless deliveries in major U.S. cities. Serve is backed by Uber, alongside other leading investors.\n\"Serve Robotics is looking forward to delivering great convenience for Uber Eats merchants and customers,\" said Dr. Ali Kashani, co-founder and CEO of Serve Robotics. \"Uber is our first commercial partner and will be a strong source of demand for us as we use contactless delivery to power community commerce at scale.\"\n\"We are excited to partner with Serve Robotics to test a new kind of delivery in Los Angeles, that's safe, reliable and environmentally friendly,\" said Sarfraz Maredia, VP and Head of Uber Eats in the US & Canada. \"We're always looking for ways to better serve merchants and consumers, which is why we're working with the team at Serve to explore the potential of this technology.\"\nAbout Serve Robotics\nServe Robotics is shaping the future of sustainable, self-driving delivery. The company designs, develops and operates zero-emissions rovers that serve people in public spaces, starting with food delivery. Founded in 2017 as the robotics division of Postmates, Serve set out to build a robotic delivery experience that delights customers, improves reliability for merchants, and reduces vehicle emissions to zero. Four years later, the company's self-driving rovers have successfully completed tens of thousands of contactless deliveries in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Spun off as an independent company in February 2021, Serve is backed by Uber and other world-class investors. Serve has several established commercial partnerships and continues to expand its partner platform. Find out more at www.serverobotics.com, follow us on social media via Twitter and Instagram, or apply to join our team on LinkedIn.\nAbout Uber\nUber's mission is to create opportunity through movement. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get access to a ride at the touch of a button? More than 25 billion trips later, we're building products to get people closer to where they want to be. By changing how people, food, and things move through cities, Uber is a platform that opens up the world to new possibilities.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":593,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":833240626,"gmtCreate":1629246909465,"gmtModify":1633686292011,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3554860970432280","idStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"No wonder drop. The camera on the front will likely be used for video calls, while the rear camera can be detached to capture photos and videos for Facebook's family of apps.
\n
Facebook is also reportedly in talks with companies to develop accessories for attaching the camera to backpacks and other objects. Previous rumors regarding the watch suggested it will sport health-tracking features, run on a stand-alone cellular connection, and use a custom version of the Android operating system. Could this long-rumored device help Facebook challenge Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) in the smartwatch market?
\n
Why is Facebook developing a smartwatch?
\n
Facebook generated 97% of its revenue from ads last quarter. The remaining 3% came from its \"other\" businesses, which include its Oculus virtual reality (VR) headsets and Portal smart screens. It might initially seem odd for Facebook to add a smartwatch to that lineup, but it would actually complement its previous hardware strategies.
\n
Facebook's strongest hardware business is its lineup of Oculus VR headsets. It could ship at least three million Oculus Quest 2 headsets this year, according to SuperData. That would make the stand-alone VR headset, which doesn't require a PC or phone, the clear leader of its niche market.
\n
Looking beyond VR devices, Facebook is developing augmented reality (AR) glasses that will use similar controls as its Oculus headsets. It also acquired CTRL-Labs, which is developing a wristband that can use brain signals to control computers, in late 2019. In theory, CTRL-Labs' technology could eventually enable users to control VR and AR devices with \"mind-reading\" wristbands instead of controllers in the future.
\n
Meanwhile, Facebook's Portal devices haven't gained much momentum against Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) or Alphabet's (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) Google in the smart screen market. That failure likely dashed Facebook's hopes of expanding its social networking platforms beyond PCs and phones and into connected homes.
\n
When you put all those pieces together, you'll realize Facebook's smartwatch could be used to enhance control of its VR and AR devices, or to expand its social networks into the Internet of Things (IoT) and perhaps succeed where the Portal failed. Facebook could also eventually upgrade its watches with CTRL-Labs' technologies and enable users to control other IoT devices with their minds.
\n
But let's not get ahead of ourselves... yet
\n
Facebook has reportedly spent about $1 billion on the development of its smartwatch over the past few years, but it only initially plans to ship volumes in the low six figures.
\n
That would make Facebook a tiny smartwatch maker compared to Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), which grew its Apple Watch shipments 19% to 33.9 million in 2020, according to Counterpoint Research. Apple ended the year with a whopping 40% share of the global smartwatch market.
\n
Facebook likely realizes its smartwatch will face the same three problems that plagued the Portal: a deep distrust of Facebook's brand, privacy concerns, and its late arrival into a saturated market. Google also encountered similar criticisms after its recent takeover of Fitbit.
\n
Facebook reportedly plans to launch its smartwatch next summer for about $400. But a lot could happen within the next year, and new smartwatches -- including a new version of the Apple Watch -- could easily steal Facebook's thunder. A smartwatch with two cameras could also be considered complicated and redundant, especially when smartphones and action cameras serve the same purposes.
\n
The key takeaways
\n
The global smartwatch market could still grow from $59 billion this year to nearly $100 billion in 2025, according to Research and Markets. That's great news for Apple, but it also suggests the market might still be big enough for newcomers like Facebook to gain a foothold.
\n
But investors should take all these rumors with a grain of salt until Facebook actually makes an official announcement. Even if Facebook's smartwatch fares better than the Portal, it probably won't generate a meaningful percentage of its revenue or reduce its overall dependence on ads.
\n
Instead, it should be considered a potential expansion of its ecosystem beyond PCs and phones, which might just complement its ongoing push into the virtual and augmented reality markets.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Facebook's Hardware Business Is Creeping Into Apple's Backyard
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nFacebook's Hardware Business Is Creeping Into Apple's Backyard\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-16 23:25 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) could be developing a smartwatch with two cameras, according to The Verge. Bitcoin is currently trading around $39,000 following a rollercoaster month of trading after itsprice drop almost a month ago.\nCoinbase’s revenue is largely driven by trading fees, 81% of which come from retail trading and 5% from institutional trading, according to Canaccord. It has the highest trading fees across crypto exchanges, the bank found.\nStill, Canaccord said it’s confident Coinbase’s business will ultimately expand beyond retail trading and into emerging opportunities for the blockchain – which could include supporting new protocols beyond bitcoin and Ethereum, decentralized finance and cloud solutions – and that crypto exchange will be a “super on-ramp” into that new world.\nCanaccord set its one-year price target on the stock at $285, which is 12 times its 2022 enterprise value-to-sales estimate.Enterprise value-to-salesis a ratio that measures a firm’s value versus its sales revenue.\n“Market share and technology leaders that leverage their positions to drive innovation via creating new customer behaviors present some of most compelling, long-term value propositions in the market,” the bank said. “Although we will see ongoing volatility, we don’t think that comparing the longer-term potential of the blockchain and digital assets to what we have seen in ecommerce is off the mark.”\nThe analysts noted that Coinbase shares are likely to see headwinds in the short term, based on crypto spot price volatility so far in June.\n“If we are in a bitcoin holding pattern here for a while, COIN could likely see sequentially weaker financial performance,” they said.\nStill, “we remain biased to the upside on bitcoin medium term and believe that resilience and elegance in the blockchain provide a great foundation for the entirety of digital assets from here,” the analysts wrote.\nCanaccord’s analysts highlighted bitcoin’s increasingly vertical supply curve – that is, the fact that quantities are limited, regardless of how much investors are willing to pay – as well as institutional interest in digital assets, comparative valuation to other stores of value, and “importantly what we view as an inevitable U.S. ETF.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":393,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163956495,"gmtCreate":1623857880417,"gmtModify":1634026938532,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3554860970432280","idStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Cryptos 🚀","listText":"Cryptos 🚀","text":"Cryptos 🚀","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/163956495","repostId":"2143792023","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2143792023","pubTimestamp":1623856852,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2143792023?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-16 23:20","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Coinbase Pro Adds Polkadot Listing To Its Lineup","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2143792023","media":"TipRanks","summary":"Coinbase, the largest American cryptocurrency exchange platform, has announced the launch of Polkado","content":"
\n
Coinbase, the largest American cryptocurrency exchange platform, has announced the launch of Polkadot (DOT) on Coinbase Pro (COIN).\nWhile the platform will officially enable trading on or after June ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"yahoofinance","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; As per the blog release, Coinbase Pro clients will gain access to multiple trading pairs, including DOT/BTC, DOT/USD, DOT/GBP, DOT/USDT, and DOT/EUR once the required liquidity is achieved. (See Coinbase Stock Chart on TipRanks)\nThese trading pairs will launch in three phases with Coinbase Pro continually assessing market trends: post-only, limit-only, and full trading. Coinbase officials added, “If at any point one of the new order books does not meet our assessment for a healthy and orderly market, we may keep the book in one state for a longer period of time or suspend trading as per our Trading Rules. We will publish tweets from our Coinbase Pro Twitter account as each order book moves through the phases.”\nThe DOT token isn’t currently available on Coinbase’s mobile app or its website, although the exchange has reassured users that any plan to add DOT will be announced, if and when the feature is enabled outside Coinbase Pro. The platform has also clarified that DOT will be available for clients in all countries where the exchange is licensed to operate, except for Singapore.\nCoinbase Pro currently supports 50 cryptocurrencies, including 1inch (1INCH), Ankr (ANKR), Ampleforth Governance Token (FORTH), Cardano (ADA), Cartesi (CTSI), Curve DAO Token (CRV), Dogecoin (DOGE), Enjin Coin (ENJ), iExec (RLC), Internet Computer (ICP), Mirror Protocol (MIR), NKN (NKN), Origin Token (OGN), Polygon (MATIC), SKALE (SKL), Storj (STORJ), SushiSwap (SUSHI), Tellor (TRB), Tether (USDT), and more.\nPolkadot, an open-source project associated with the Web3 Foundation, enables cross-blockchain transfers of any type of data or asset. The ecosystem is designed to give consumers the ability to interoperate with other blockchains in the Polkadot network.\nThe DOT token powers the Polkadot network, serving the purposes of governance, staking, and bonding. Additionally, the holders of DOT tokens perform several key functions within the Polkadot ecosystem, including acting as validators, collators, nominators, and participating in the decision-making process for Polkadot’s future upgrades and changes.\nThe Polkadot (DOT) listing on Coinbase Pro comes as a huge boost for the fast-rising DOT token. At the time of writing, DOT tokens traded at $24.67, exhibiting a 24-hour volume of $3.13 billion.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":276,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":163959094,"gmtCreate":1623857663118,"gmtModify":1631886709474,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3554860970432280","idStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Altimeter Growth Corp.(AGC)$Grab while itslow","listText":"$Altimeter Growth Corp.(AGC)$Grab while itslow","text":"$Altimeter Growth Corp.(AGC)$Grab while itslow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/163959094","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":125,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":114655691,"gmtCreate":1623073632013,"gmtModify":1634037262463,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3554860970432280","idStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$AMD(AMD)$💎🙌","listText":"$AMD(AMD)$💎🙌","text":"$AMD(AMD)$💎🙌","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/425ec752c78e1095b6a69e3ae9519429","width":"1170","height":"2026"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/114655691","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":60,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":378866506,"gmtCreate":1619016246705,"gmtModify":1631884907675,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3554860970432280","idStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Barrick Gold Corp(GOLD)$up","listText":"$Barrick Gold Corp(GOLD)$up","text":"$Barrick Gold Corp(GOLD)$up","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/3c7d2f31e3cc53b15b5281d8a93fb94d","width":"1170","height":"2026"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/378866506","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":389,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":378861084,"gmtCreate":1619016126648,"gmtModify":1634289189280,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3554860970432280","idStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hmmm","listText":"Hmmm","text":"Hmmm","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/378861084","repostId":"2129872490","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2129872490","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1619015082,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2129872490?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-21 22:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"China market regulator urges Tesla to ensure product quality in China","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2129872490","media":"Reuters","summary":"BEIJING, April 21 (Reuters) - The camera on the front will likely be used for video calls, while the rear camera can be detached to capture photos and videos for Facebook's family of apps.
We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get access to a ride at the touch of a button? More than 25 billion trips later, we're building products to get people closer to where they want to be. By changing how people, food, and things move through cities, Uber is a platform that opens up the world to new possibilities.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":593,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":833240626,"gmtCreate":1629246909465,"gmtModify":1633686292011,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3554860970432280","authorIdStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"No wonder drop. As per the blog release, Coinbase Pro clients will gain access to multiple trading pairs, including DOT/BTC, DOT/USD, DOT/GBP, DOT/USDT, and DOT/EUR once the required liquidity is achieved. At the time of writing, DOT tokens traded at $24.67, exhibiting a 24-hour volume of $3.13 billion.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":276,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":378861084,"gmtCreate":1619016126648,"gmtModify":1634289189280,"author":{"id":"3554860970432280","authorId":"3554860970432280","name":"xxxjw","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3554860970432280","authorIdStr":"3554860970432280"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hmmm","listText":"Hmmm","text":"Hmmm","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/378861084","repostId":"2129872490","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"2129872490","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1619015082,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2129872490?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-21 22:24","market":"us","language":"en","title":"China market regulator urges Tesla to ensure product quality in China","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2129872490","media":"Reuters","summary":"BEIJING, April 21 (Reuters) - China's market regulator said on Wednesday that it has urged U.S. elec","content":"
BEIJING, April 21 (Reuters) - China's market regulator said on Wednesday that it has urged U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc to ensure its product quality in China, following an incident at the Shanghai auto show that drew wide attention in social media.
\n
An unhappy customer at the show clambered on top of a Tesla vehicle to protest over the company's handling of her complaints about malfunctioning brakes in one of its cars.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
