$SINGTEL(Z74.SI)$ When you read of the global companies of today not making profit and yet whose share value rises everyday, you would wonder whatever happened to traditional financial KPIs (key performance indicators). Is the focus on enticing greater subscription levels to the companies wide range of global services the only important thing ? Well, it does bring in the daily bread which can be used in various ways. in particular, to lift higher ARPUs (Average revenue per user). What about paying dividends ? Yes, that would be a good thing but higher dividends can wait if the share price is making an uphill climb. At least, back to the prices of the old IPO days when it had a much smaller subscriber base. Perhaps a mindset change is indeed much needed in the organisation like that of a Badminton Champion in the making. Winning big and staying the course. A tough call but clearly not impossible.
