MW Stocks open slightly higher, but on track for losing week
Stocks opened slightly higher Friday, but major indexes were on track to end a five-week run of weekly gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 89 points, or 0.2%, while the S&P 500 edged up 0.1% to 4,655 and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.2% to 15,741. Gains for the Dow were led by Johnson & Johnson $(JNJ)$, up 1.8%, after the healthcare company announced plans to split. the Dow was on track for a 0.9% weekly fall, while the S&P 500 was off 1% and the Nasdaq was headed for a 1.6% pullback.
