Here's how the charts","content":"
Tesla stock is back on the move and this time, it's trading back above $1,000. Here's how the charts are setting up now.
\n
Tesla shares are rallying higher on Wednesday, up 7.5% and climbing back above $1,000 a share. That's got bulls cheering the stock’s recent run.
\n
On Tuesday, Tesla stock hit its lowest level since Oct. 22 and was down 27% from the highs.
\n
However, shares reversed off that low, climbing more than $50 a share by the close.
\n
That rally is extending itself Wednesday, with Tesla stock up more than 13% from yesterday’s low.
\n
Tesla stock was in focus this morning ahead of the open, rallying several percent on the hope that CEO Elon Musk would be done selling his shares.
\n
Musk said that he’s “sold enough” to meet his prior pledge. Earlier this week, Musk said he will pay more than $11 billion in taxes this year.
\n
If Musk really is done selling the stock — and he should be — then that big headwind will be out of the way and we may see it rebound higher. Now that it’s back above $1,000, we have to wonder if Tesla can climb to new highs.
\n
Trading Tesla Stock
\n
Daily chart of Tesla stock.
\n
The stock traded down into the $910 gap-fill level and prior all-time high at $900, and found its footing.
\n
If we get specific, the 21-week moving average and the 200-unit moving average on the four-hour chart were also nearby.
\n
In any regard, Tesla shares are ripping higher now, trading up through the 10-day moving average and hovering around the key $1,000 level, which has been a key pivot since late October.
\n
If it can maintain above $1,000, the next obvious area comes into play near $1,025 to $1,035. Here's how the charts are setting up now.\nTesla shares are rallying higher on Wednesday, up 7.5% and climbing back above $1,000 a share. That's got bulls cheering the stock’s recent run.\nOn Tuesday, Tesla stock hit its lowest level since Oct. 22 and was down 27% from the highs.\nHowever, shares reversed off that low, climbing more than $50 a share by the close.\nThat rally is extending itself Wednesday, with Tesla stock up more than 13% from yesterday’s low.\nTesla stock was in focus this morning ahead of the open, rallying several percent on the hope that CEO Elon Musk would be done selling his shares.\nMusk said that he’s “sold enough” to meet his prior pledge. Earlier this week, Musk said he will pay more than $11 billion in taxes this year.\nIf Musk really is done selling the stock — and he should be — then that big headwind will be out of the way and we may see it rebound higher. Now that it’s back above $1,000, we have to wonder if Tesla can climb to new highs.\nTrading Tesla Stock\nDaily chart of Tesla stock.\nThe stock traded down into the $910 gap-fill level and prior all-time high at $900, and found its footing.\nIf we get specific, the 21-week moving average and the 200-unit moving average on the four-hour chart were also nearby.\nIn any regard, Tesla shares are ripping higher now, trading up through the 10-day moving average and hovering around the key $1,000 level, which has been a key pivot since late October.\nIf it can maintain above $1,000, the next obvious area comes into play near $1,025 to $1,035. There Tesla stock finds its 21-day and 50-day moving averages.\nThat should be an area to take a pause, but if Tesla is able to push through this zone, then the $1,100 level and downtrend resistance (blue line) are in play.\nOn the downside, let’s see if shares struggle with $1,000. In that case, I want to see the now-rising 10-day moving average act as support on the dips.\nIf it doesn’t, then the stock could go on to fill the gap down near $940.\nThere’s one other thing: If Tesla rallies up to the 21-day and 50-day moving averages but can’t push through, let’s see if the $1,000 mark and the 10-day moving average act as support.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":819,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":606038186,"gmtCreate":1638800001536,"gmtModify":1638800422095,"author":{"id":"4088748055325860","authorId":"4088748055325860","name":"Kencom","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/933749ae75c1d77b2cb7a961bacc251f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes. The target presents an 18% increase from Apple’s (ticker: AAPL) $161.84 closing price on Friday. The stock was up 1.2% to $163.73 in premarket trading Monday.
\n
Of the 42 analysts covering the stock surveyed by FactSet, 32 have it at a Buy or Overweight rating, nine rated it at Hold, and one rated it Underweight.
\n
“While AAPL is expensive by historical valuations, we find AAPL attractive relative to other mega-caps,” Nispel wrote on Monday.
\n
The analyst outlined three main reasons for his bullish take. Nispel doesn’t believe iPhone unit sales have peaked, with the 5G upgrade cycle potentially pushing Apple past its current peak; he believes the company has managed to increase its product breadth to reduce reliability on iPhone sales; and he foresees services to grow at rates multiple times faster than user growth.
\n
The analyst forecasts Apple to have 1.09 billion active iPhones and 1.8 billion active installed devices by the end of the first quarter of the 2022 fiscal year. This presents a 7% and 8% year-over-year increase, respectively.
\n
“This shows a healthy growing user base where Apple iPhone market share is low relative to key geographies outside the United States,” Nispel wrote. “As the installed base grows, a larger base can support more sales on lower upgrade rates.”
\n
Apple’s international segment is likely to grow faster in the coming years as other countries adapt to 5G, prompting a wave of upgrades to compatible hardware, Nispel wrote. He estimates every 1% increase in 5G upgrade rates could drive an incremental 11 million iPhone unit sales.
\n
As hardware adoption grows, so does Apple’s services business. The segment, which includes services such as Apple TV+, Music, News+, AppleCare, Advertising, and Cloud, has grown 27% in the 2021 fiscal year. Over time, it could become a key profitability driver, growing to more than $100 billion by 2024, Nispel said.
\n
Nispel recognized that Apple’s App Store legal battles were concerning, but were “likely more a bend, not break outcome.” The company has had to make modest changes to its App Store guidance in response to court rulings and regulatory changes, including lowering its commission for some developers. It will likely make more concessions over time, such as allowing developers to provide third-party payment options, Nispel said.
\n
“We expect regulation to take time to implement, and believe Apple’s competitive advantage is unlikely to be substantially harmed,” he added.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Apple Stock Is an Attractive Buy, Says KeyBanc. Even better, these companies could sustain their strong run beyond next year as well thanks to a set of impressive catalysts. Let's look at the reasons why investors should consider adding Nvidia, Synaptics, and Applied Materials to their portfolios.
\n
1. Nvidia
\n
Nvidia has been a stock market darling in 2021 thanks to the booming demand for its graphics cards, which are used across a wide variety of applications such as personal computers (PCs), data centers, automotive, and other markets. The terrific graphics card demand has translated into outstanding growth at Nvidia. The company's fiscal 2022 third-quarter revenue was up 50% year over year to $7.1 billion, while diluted earnings per share shot up 60% to $1.17.
\n
The gaming and data center businesses that produced 86% of the company's total revenue last quarter grew 42% and 55%, respectively, year-over-year, and they are unlikely to slow down any time soon. Nvidia controls 83% of the discrete graphics card market, and it was the only GPU (graphics processing unit) supplier to have increased shipments in the third quarter, according to Jon Peddie Research.
\n
The chipmaker has been able to increase the supply of its graphics cards to meet the robust end-market demand. Nvidia's strong grip over this space is great news, as the GPU market's revenue is expected to jump to $44 billion by 2023, setting the stage for further growth in the gaming business. Meanwhile, the growing deployment of hyperscale data centers and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) applications are turning out to be tailwinds for Nvidia.
\n
\n
The hyperscale data center market is expected to grow at nearly 27% a year through 2025, according to market research provider TechNavio. The demand for data center accelerators, on the other hand, is reportedly increasing at an annual pace of nearly 37%. With Nvidia holding 80% of the cloud and data center accelerator market as per Omdia's estimates, its data center business looks set for impressive growth.
\n
What's more, emerging applications such as the metaverse have given Nvidia bulls more reasons to cheer in recent weeks, as they could add to the already-solid catalysts the company is sitting on. In all, it isn't surprising to see why analysts are expecting Nvidia to deliver annual earnings growth of almost 40% for the next five years, which could help it remain a top growth stock for years to come.
\n
2. Synaptics
\n
Synaptics is winning big from the growing demand for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The company got 55% of its total revenue from IoT products in the first quarter of fiscal 2022, recording 70% year-over-year revenue growth in this segment.
\n
The impressive growth of the IoT business led to a 13% year-over-year increase in Synaptics' quarterly revenue to $372.7 million. More importantly, Synaptics' guidance indicates that its streak of strong growth is here to stay. The company expects $405 million in revenue this quarter and earnings of $3.05 per share, which means that its top and bottom lines could jump 13% and 32%, respectively, over the year-ago period.
\n
The IoT business is expected to produce 58% of Synaptics' total revenue this quarter, indicating that the segment's influence on the company's top line is increasing. Looking ahead, the IoT business could keep getting better, as Synaptics is witnessing strong demand for its wireless chips, which are finding use in several applications ranging from handheld scanners to fitness equipment.
\n
Synaptics CEO Michael Hurlston pointed out on the November earnings conference call that \"our wireless products are seeing increased design win traction across a long tail of customers and applications, giving us confidence in believing we will achieve our target of doubling revenues again over the next 18 months.\"
\n
A third-party estimate points out that the cellular IoT market could clock 25.7% annual growth through 2027 as the need for chips and modules to connect different things increases. As a result, the demand for Synaptics' wireless chips powered by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth should continue to increase in the long run.
\n
With Synaptics trading at 25 times forward earnings, compared to the NASDAQ-100 index's forward earnings multiple of 30, and its earnings expected to grow at 15% a year for the next five years, it looks like a solid pick for investors looking to get into an IoT stock right now.
\n
3. Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Synaptics (NASDAQ:SYNA), and Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) are three stocks that have absolutely crushed the broader market so far this year.\n^SPX data by YCharts\nAs we enter the final month of the year, investors who have missed the terrific rally in these tech stocks should consider taking a closer look at them since they could repeat their sizzling performance in 2022. Even better, these companies could sustain their strong run beyond next year as well thanks to a set of impressive catalysts. Let's look at the reasons why investors should consider adding Nvidia, Synaptics, and Applied Materials to their portfolios.\n1. Nvidia\nNvidia has been a stock market darling in 2021 thanks to the booming demand for its graphics cards, which are used across a wide variety of applications such as personal computers (PCs), data centers, automotive, and other markets. The terrific graphics card demand has translated into outstanding growth at Nvidia. The company's fiscal 2022 third-quarter revenue was up 50% year over year to $7.1 billion, while diluted earnings per share shot up 60% to $1.17.\nThe gaming and data center businesses that produced 86% of the company's total revenue last quarter grew 42% and 55%, respectively, year-over-year, and they are unlikely to slow down any time soon. Nvidia controls 83% of the discrete graphics card market, and it was the only GPU (graphics processing unit) supplier to have increased shipments in the third quarter, according to Jon Peddie Research.\nThe chipmaker has been able to increase the supply of its graphics cards to meet the robust end-market demand. Nvidia's strong grip over this space is great news, as the GPU market's revenue is expected to jump to $44 billion by 2023, setting the stage for further growth in the gaming business. Meanwhile, the growing deployment of hyperscale data centers and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) applications are turning out to be tailwinds for Nvidia.\nImage source: Getty Images\nThe hyperscale data center market is expected to grow at nearly 27% a year through 2025, according to market research provider TechNavio. The demand for data center accelerators, on the other hand, is reportedly increasing at an annual pace of nearly 37%. With Nvidia holding 80% of the cloud and data center accelerator market as per Omdia's estimates, its data center business looks set for impressive growth.\nWhat's more, emerging applications such as the metaverse have given Nvidia bulls more reasons to cheer in recent weeks, as they could add to the already-solid catalysts the company is sitting on. In all, it isn't surprising to see why analysts are expecting Nvidia to deliver annual earnings growth of almost 40% for the next five years, which could help it remain a top growth stock for years to come.\n2. Synaptics\nSynaptics is winning big from the growing demand for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The company got 55% of its total revenue from IoT products in the first quarter of fiscal 2022, recording 70% year-over-year revenue growth in this segment.\nThe impressive growth of the IoT business led to a 13% year-over-year increase in Synaptics' quarterly revenue to $372.7 million. More importantly, Synaptics' guidance indicates that its streak of strong growth is here to stay. The company expects $405 million in revenue this quarter and earnings of $3.05 per share, which means that its top and bottom lines could jump 13% and 32%, respectively, over the year-ago period.\nThe IoT business is expected to produce 58% of Synaptics' total revenue this quarter, indicating that the segment's influence on the company's top line is increasing. Looking ahead, the IoT business could keep getting better, as Synaptics is witnessing strong demand for its wireless chips, which are finding use in several applications ranging from handheld scanners to fitness equipment.\nSynaptics CEO Michael Hurlston pointed out on the November earnings conference call that \"our wireless products are seeing increased design win traction across a long tail of customers and applications, giving us confidence in believing we will achieve our target of doubling revenues again over the next 18 months.\"\nA third-party estimate points out that the cellular IoT market could clock 25.7% annual growth through 2027 as the need for chips and modules to connect different things increases. As a result, the demand for Synaptics' wireless chips powered by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth should continue to increase in the long run.\nWith Synaptics trading at 25 times forward earnings, compared to the NASDAQ-100 index's forward earnings multiple of 30, and its earnings expected to grow at 15% a year for the next five years, it looks like a solid pick for investors looking to get into an IoT stock right now.\n3. Applied Materials\nThe world is facing a semiconductor shortage, and Applied Materials is one of those companies helping to alleviate the lack of chips that has hamstrung several industries, ranging from smartphones to automotive to computers. The demand for Applied Materials' semiconductor manufacturing equipment has jumped impressively over the past year and a half, translating into strong top- and bottom-line growth.\nAMAT Revenue (TTM) data by YCharts\nApplied Materials' revenue in the recently concluded fiscal 2021 (ending on Oct. 31, 2021) increased 34% over the prior year to $23 billion, while adjusted earnings shot up 64% year-over-year to $6.84 per share. The company can sustain such impressive growth in the new fiscal year thanks to the terrific growth in its orders.\nThe orders in Applied Materials' semiconductor systems business, which produced 70% of its revenue last year, increased 78% in fiscal 2021. What's more, the company closed the year with momentum on its side, as semiconductor systems orders shot up 136% year-over-year in Q4. It is also worth noting that Applied Materials expects its order book to grow at a faster pace in the first half of fiscal 2022 as compared to the second half of fiscal 2021.\nApplied Materials CFO Bob Halliday's comments on the November earnings call indicate just why the company sees an acceleration in its order book:\n\n Industrywide, we are tracking 59 fab projects with available and announced expansion capacity of 3.5 million wafer starts. These projects represent potential equipment spending of around $300 billion in future years.\n\nAll of this indicates that Applied Materials is set up for solid long-term growth, as semiconductor companies are expected to spend a huge amount of money to increase capacities and meet the booming end-market demand. As a result, Applied Materials is an attractive stock to buy right now given that is trading at just 17 times forward earnings and is expected to register 16%-plus annual earnings growth over the next five years.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":507,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":601760284,"gmtCreate":1638571780701,"gmtModify":1638571781050,"author":{"id":"4088748055325860","authorId":"4088748055325860","name":"Kencom","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/933749ae75c1d77b2cb7a961bacc251f","crmLevel":7,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Correction is here. Does it make sense to buy this hot tech stock after its big rally in 2021? Let's find out.
\n
AMD stock has become expensive thanks to its terrific growth
\n
The first thing that potential AMD investors may want to look at is the stock's valuation. It has a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of nearly 47 and a price-to-sales ratio of 12.5. The valuation isn't cheap when compared to the S&P 500's earnings multiple of 28.7 and sales multiple of 3.2. AMD was also trading at cheaper multiples at the beginning of October, before an outstanding earnings report and a potentially lucrative contract sent its shares soaring and inflated the valuation.
\n

\n
AMD PE Ratio data by YCharts
\n
However, AMD's rich valuation seems justified, as the chipmaker has been clocking outstanding growth quarter after quarter. Its revenue shot up 54% year over year in the third quarter to $4.3 billion, while adjusted earnings jumped 78% from the prior-year period to $0.73 per share. AMD raised its full-year guidance once again and now expects revenue to increase by 65% in 2021, which would be a big improvement over the 45% annual revenue growth it had clocked in 2020.
\n
So, the valuation shouldn't be a concern for investors who are on the sidelines and wondering if it makes sense to buy AMD after the stock's impressive run in 2021. The company is now trading at a much cheaper level when compared to 2020's P/E ratio of almost 124, and it is on track to finish the year with stronger growth. This makes AMD stock practically a bargain right now.
\n
The chipmaker is set for growth in 2022, and beyond
\n
Analysts expect AMD's revenue to increase nearly 19% in 2022, while earnings per share are anticipated to jump 26%. However, there are several reasons why AMD can easily outpace those expectations and match the growth it has measured in 2021.
\n
One of the reasons why AMD can sustain its high growth rates is because of its market share gains in the server and personal computer (PC) processor markets. Mercury Research points out that AMD's share of the x86 processor market (which includes server processors, desktop processors, and mobile processors) increased to 24.6% in the third quarter, an increase of 2.1 percentage points over the second quarter. This was the second-highest share of the CPU market AMD has ever enjoyed, after the 25.3% it controlled in the fourth quarter of 2006.
\n
AMD is expected to continue gaining market share in the CPU space. Vivek Arya of the Bank of America, for example, expects AMD to corner 25% of the server market by the end of 2022. That would be a huge increase from the 10.2% server market share that AMD had at the end of the third quarter, as per Mercury Research, up 1.8 percentage points over the year-ago period.
\n
It won't be surprising to see AMD achieve such an impressive market share in servers, as its recent chips have gained impressive traction. The company recently pointed out that AMD chips now power 73 supercomputers as compared to 21 a year ago. Additionally, AMD has been selected by Meta Platforms to power the data centers that will be used to build the metaverse.
\n
All of this points toward AMD's growing dominance in the server market, which could substantially boost its top line as the chipmaker sees an addressable revenue opportunity of $19 billion in this space by 2023.
\n
On the other hand, AMD is expected to launch 5-nanometer (nm) CPUs late next year for deployment in desktops and notebooks, which could deliver a 20% to 40% increase in performance as compared to the current generation of chips. With Intel expected to launch its Raptor Lake processors by the end of 2022 on an enhanced 10nm platform, AMD looks set to extend its technology lead and gain more share.
\n
And finally, the gaming hardware space will continue to be a big tailwind for AMD. The company seems to be gaining ground in the multibillion-dollar graphics card market, while consoles present another long-term growth opportunity. That's because AMD's semi-custom chips are used by Sony and Microsoft in their latest consoles that are expected to see a massive spike in sales in the coming years.
\n
It isn't too late to buy the stock
\n
In the end, it can be said that AMD has multiple growth drivers that should help it sustain its strong pace of growth in 2022 and beyond.
\n
It still has a lot of room for growth in the PC and server markets where it can capture more share from Intel. Does it make sense to buy this hot tech stock after its big rally in 2021? Let's find out.\nAMD stock has become expensive thanks to its terrific growth\nThe first thing that potential AMD investors may want to look at is the stock's valuation. It has a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of nearly 47 and a price-to-sales ratio of 12.5. The valuation isn't cheap when compared to the S&P 500's earnings multiple of 28.7 and sales multiple of 3.2. AMD was also trading at cheaper multiples at the beginning of October, before an outstanding earnings report and a potentially lucrative contract sent its shares soaring and inflated the valuation.\n\nAMD PE Ratio data by YCharts\nHowever, AMD's rich valuation seems justified, as the chipmaker has been clocking outstanding growth quarter after quarter. Its revenue shot up 54% year over year in the third quarter to $4.3 billion, while adjusted earnings jumped 78% from the prior-year period to $0.73 per share. AMD raised its full-year guidance once again and now expects revenue to increase by 65% in 2021, which would be a big improvement over the 45% annual revenue growth it had clocked in 2020.\nSo, the valuation shouldn't be a concern for investors who are on the sidelines and wondering if it makes sense to buy AMD after the stock's impressive run in 2021. The company is now trading at a much cheaper level when compared to 2020's P/E ratio of almost 124, and it is on track to finish the year with stronger growth. This makes AMD stock practically a bargain right now.\nThe chipmaker is set for growth in 2022, and beyond\nAnalysts expect AMD's revenue to increase nearly 19% in 2022, while earnings per share are anticipated to jump 26%. However, there are several reasons why AMD can easily outpace those expectations and match the growth it has measured in 2021.\nOne of the reasons why AMD can sustain its high growth rates is because of its market share gains in the server and personal computer (PC) processor markets.
\n
3. Applied Materials
\n
The world is facing a semiconductor shortage, and Applied Materials is one of those companies helping to alleviate the lack of chips that has hamstrung several industries, ranging from smartphones to automotive to computers. The demand for Applied Materials' semiconductor manufacturing equipment has jumped impressively over the past year and a half, translating into strong top- and bottom-line growth.
\n
AMAT Revenue (TTM) data by YCharts
\n
Applied Materials' revenue in the recently concluded fiscal 2021 (ending on Oct. 31, 2021) increased 34% over the prior year to $23 billion, while adjusted earnings shot up 64% year-over-year to $6.84 per share. The company can sustain such impressive growth in the new fiscal year thanks to the terrific growth in its orders.
\n
The orders in Applied Materials' semiconductor systems business, which produced 70% of its revenue last year, increased 78% in fiscal 2021. What's more, the company closed the year with momentum on its side, as semiconductor systems orders shot up 136% year-over-year in Q4. It is also worth noting that Applied Materials expects its order book to grow at a faster pace in the first half of fiscal 2022 as compared to the second half of fiscal 2021.
\n
Applied Materials CFO Bob Halliday's comments on the November earnings call indicate just why the company sees an acceleration in its order book:
\n
\n Industrywide, we are tracking 59 fab projects with available and announced expansion capacity of 3.5 million wafer starts. These projects represent potential equipment spending of around $300 billion in future years.\n
\n
All of this indicates that Applied Materials is set up for solid long-term growth, as semiconductor companies are expected to spend a huge amount of money to increase capacities and meet the booming end-market demand.
