significant growth in coming years thanks to heavy spending on technologies like cybersecurity, 5G and further moves into the cloud.
\n
He estimated that this \"digital transformation\" would fuel another $2T in spending over the next six to seven years.
\n
That said, Ives warned investors that they had to be selective with their portfolios, as some stocks will lose momentum once the massive pandemic-related stimulus comes to an end.
\n
\"You have to separate the winners from the losers and the long-term winners versus the ones that benefited from the pandemic,\" he said.
\n
Rather, Ives suggested investors \"double down on their winners.\"
\n
Looking at some of the stocks mentioned by Ives, NVDA has done by far the best in 2021, more than doubling over the course of the year. ZS and PANW have both risen nearly 50%. In early 2020, the companies said they are shelving the plans for a Lincoln-branded EV but would go ahead with an alternative vehicle based on Rivian technology.
\n
The Ford CEO suggested in the interview that the company is now increasingly confident in competing in the EV space by itself. Another handicap that forced the going-solo decision was the complexities involved in integrating the hardware and software together.
\n
Why It's Important:Rivian shares debuted on Wall Street on Nov. 10 following aninitial public offeringat a bumper valuation of over $100 billion. The company's strong debut and the subsequent run up in shares have raised eyebrows over its valuation which has taken it past the market capitalization of legacy U.S. automakers, including Ford.
\n
Rivian's product pipeline consists of RIT, an EV pickup truck, which it began delivering to customers in September. As of Oct. 30, the company produced 180 R1Ts and delivered 156 R1Ts, with the bulk of them going to the company's employees.
\n
The company noted that at the end of October, it had preorders of about 55,400 R1Ts and R1Ss. It expects to fill the preorder backlog by the end of 2023.
\n
Ford, for its part, has doubled on itsEV strategyand invested big dollars into its transition toward EVs.
\n
\"We respect Rivian and have had extensive exploratory discussions with them, however, both sides have agreed not to pursue any kind of joint vehicle development or platform sharing,\" Ford said in an emailed statement to media.
\n
Rivian, meanwhile, confirmed that it is a mutual decision to focus on each of their own projects and deliveries, given Ford has scaled its own EV strategy and demand for Rivian vehicles has grown.
\n
\"Our relationship with Ford is an important part of our journey, and Ford remains an investor and ally on our shared path to an electrified future\" a Rivian spokesperson said.
\n
Rivian closed Friday's session up 4.23% at $128.60, while Ford closed down 0.87% at $19.39.
","source":"lsy1606299360108","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; In early 2020, the companies said they are shelving the plans for a Lincoln-branded EV but would go ahead with an alternative vehicle based on Rivian technology.\nThe Ford CEO suggested in the interview that the company is now increasingly confident in competing in the EV space by itself. Another handicap that forced the going-solo decision was the complexities involved in integrating the hardware and software together.\nWhy It's Important:Rivian shares debuted on Wall Street on Nov. 10 following aninitial public offeringat a bumper valuation of over $100 billion. The company's strong debut and the subsequent run up in shares have raised eyebrows over its valuation which has taken it past the market capitalization of legacy U.S. automakers, including Ford.\nRivian's product pipeline consists of RIT, an EV pickup truck, which it began delivering to customers in September. As of Oct. 30, the company produced 180 R1Ts and delivered 156 R1Ts, with the bulk of them going to the company's employees.\nThe company noted that at the end of October, it had preorders of about 55,400 R1Ts and R1Ss. It expects to fill the preorder backlog by the end of 2023.\nFord, for its part, has doubled on itsEV strategyand invested big dollars into its transition toward EVs.\n\"We respect Rivian and have had extensive exploratory discussions with them, however, both sides have agreed not to pursue any kind of joint vehicle development or platform sharing,\" Ford said in an emailed statement to media.\nRivian, meanwhile, confirmed that it is a mutual decision to focus on each of their own projects and deliveries, given Ford has scaled its own EV strategy and demand for Rivian vehicles has grown.\n\"Our relationship with Ford is an important part of our journey, and Ford remains an investor and ally on our shared path to an electrified future\" a Rivian spokesperson said.\nRivian closed Friday's session up 4.23% at $128.60, while Ford closed down 0.87% at $19.39.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":544,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":870808340,"gmtCreate":1636596902485,"gmtModify":1636596903859,"author":{"id":"3586908956533728","authorId":"3586908956533728","name":"一支升GoGo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e6ded53fb5327ba12901b0349ca92704","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a In early 2020, the companies said they are shelving the plans for a Lincoln-branded EV but would go ahead with an alternative vehicle based on Rivian technology.\nThe Ford CEO suggested in the interview that the company is now increasingly confident in competing in the EV space by itself. It expects to fill the preorder backlog by the end of 2023.\nFord, for its part, has doubled on itsEV strategyand invested big dollars into its transition toward EVs.\n\"We respect Rivian and have had extensive exploratory discussions with them, however, both sides have agreed not to pursue any kind of joint vehicle development or platform sharing,\" Ford said in an emailed statement to media.\nRivian, meanwhile, confirmed that it is a mutual decision to focus on each of their own projects and deliveries, given Ford has scaled its own EV strategy and demand for Rivian vehicles has grown.\n\"Our relationship with Ford is an important part of our journey, and Ford remains an investor and ally on our shared path to an electrified future\" a Rivian spokesperson said.\nRivian closed Friday's session up 4.23% at $128.60, while Ford closed down 0.87% at $19.39.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":544,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":845750353,"gmtCreate":1636370756581,"gmtModify":1636370756774,"author":{"id":"3586908956533728","authorId":"3586908956533728","name":"一支升GoGo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e6ded53fb5327ba12901b0349ca92704","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wats meeting","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2190673267","media":"Reuters","summary":"NEW YORK, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Investors are bracing for the last Federal Reserve meeting of the year,","content":"
NEW YORK, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Investors are bracing for the last Federal Reserve meeting of the year, with market participants hungry to learn how quickly the central bank plans to finish unwinding its bond-buying program and pick up signs of when it may start to raise rates in 2022.
\n
Stocks are back at record highs following last week’s selloff – a market spasm brought on by worries over the Omicron variant of the coronavirus and comments from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, who said the central bank may discuss speeding up the reduction of its $120 billion per month bond buying program at next week's meeting.
\n
There is potential for renewed volatility, however, if the Fed takes a more hawkish than expected view on rolling back the easy money policies that have helped stocks more than double from their March 2020 lows, including a rapid reduction in bond buying that clears the way for the central bank to raise rates sooner.
\n
Markets could also be roiled if the Fed signals greater worry about inflation, which Powell said can no longer be described as \"transitory.\" Data on Friday showed consumer prices last month notched their largest annual gain in nearly four decades, bolstering the case for higher rates.
\n
“The biggest factor in the equity market remains and will remain to be interest rates,\" said Jack Ablin, chief investment officer at Cresset Capital Management.
\n
Higher yields - which can rise on expectations of tighter monetary policy - can dim the allure of stocks by creating a greater discount for companies' future cash flows, potentially pressuring valuations that are already elevated by historical standards.
\n
The S&P 500 , which has climbed 25% this year, is trading at 20.5 times forward 12-month earnings estimates, compared with its historic valuation average of 15.5 times, according to Refinitiv Datastream.
\n
The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note has climbed about 15 basis points from the start of the month to 1.49%, but is below the 1.776% it reached in March.
\n
Some stocks have already been hit by higher rate worries this year, including technology and growth companies that thrived during 2020's lockdowns.
\n
The broader market, however, has generally tolerated tightening monetary policy, analysts at BofA Global Research said in a recent report, noting that stocks mostly climbed as the Fed normalized policy in the last decade.
\n
The Fed last month began \"tapering\" its purchases of Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities at a pace that would have put it on track to complete the wind-down by mid-2022. Following Powell's comments, investors now believe the Fed could quicken the pace of reductions that will end the bond-buying by March, which could allow the central bank to potentially start raising rates sooner.
\n
Bets on earlier rate increases have also grown. Traders late on Friday saw a more than 50% chance of a rate hike by May 2022, up from a roughly 30% chance a month ago, according to the CME Group's FedWatch program.
\n
Investors are also keen to learn the central bank's view on the Omicron variant's potential impact on economic growth or inflation.
\n
One possible scenario outlined by UBS Global Wealth Management in a report sees the virus complicating supply-chain issues that have helped stoke inflation in recent months, bringing concerns the Fed may need to tighten monetary policy faster. The bank’s base case scenario, however, assumes the Omicron variant will not derail the recovery.
\n
Mona Mahajan, senior investment strategist at Edward Jones, said the Fed meeting could bring more clarity to investors after an upsurge of volatility in recent weeks.
\n
“It feels like the market has climbed two walls of worry already: Omicron and the path of the Fed,\" she said. \"I do think over the next couple of weeks we will get a little bit more certainty on both fronts.”
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Following Powell's comments, investors now believe the Fed could quicken the pace of reductions that will end the bond-buying by March, which could allow the central bank to potentially start raising rates sooner.\nBets on earlier rate increases have also grown. Traders late on Friday saw a more than 50% chance of a rate hike by May 2022, up from a roughly 30% chance a month ago, according to the CME Group's FedWatch program.\nInvestors are also keen to learn the central bank's view on the Omicron variant's potential impact on economic growth or inflation.\nOne possible scenario outlined by UBS Global Wealth Management in a report sees the virus complicating supply-chain issues that have helped stoke inflation in recent months, bringing concerns the Fed may need to tighten monetary policy faster. The bank’s base case scenario, however, assumes the Omicron variant will not derail the recovery.\nMona Mahajan, senior investment strategist at Edward Jones, said the Fed meeting could bring more clarity to investors after an upsurge of volatility in recent weeks.\n“It feels like the market has climbed two walls of worry already: Omicron and the path of the Fed,\" she said. \"I do think over the next couple of weeks we will get a little bit more certainty on both fronts.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":819,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":870808340,"gmtCreate":1636596902485,"gmtModify":1636596903859,"author":{"id":"3586908956533728","authorId":"3586908956533728","name":"一支升GoGo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e6ded53fb5327ba12901b0349ca92704","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$New Oriental Education & Technology(EDU)$Turnaround Opportunity✌","listText":"$New Oriental Education & Technology(EDU)$Turnaround Opportunity✌","text":"$New Oriental Education & Technology(EDU)$Turnaround Opportunity✌","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/826e90c2bf8cdec6c16dde5818994f20","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/870808340","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":429,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":147405857,"gmtCreate":1626370843279,"gmtModify":1631885125299,"author":{"id":"3586908956533728","authorId":"3586908956533728","name":"一支升GoGo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e6ded53fb5327ba12901b0349ca92704","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Clover Health Corp(CLOV)$无底洞!!!","listText":"$Clover Health Corp(CLOV)$无底洞!!!","text":"$Clover Health Corp(CLOV)$无底洞!!!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/147405857","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":350,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":601046040,"gmtCreate":1638462855889,"gmtModify":1638462855985,"author":{"id":"3586908956533728","authorId":"3586908956533728","name":"一支升GoGo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e6ded53fb5327ba12901b0349ca92704","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Grab Holdings(GRAB)$Grab You...!!! ZS and PANW have both risen nearly 50%. AAPL lags behind its smaller rivals, although it has rallied about 30% for 2021.\nThe main laggard in the group is CYBR, which is basically flat on the year:","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":678,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":603735143,"gmtCreate":1638451286514,"gmtModify":1638451286613,"author":{"id":"3586908956533728","authorId":"3586908956533728","name":"一支升GoGo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e6ded53fb5327ba12901b0349ca92704","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Grab Holdings(GRAB)$Squeezed them all...✌","listText":"$Grab Holdings(GRAB)$Squeezed them all...✌","text":"$Grab Holdings(GRAB)$Squeezed them all...✌","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/603735143","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":564,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":157923110,"gmtCreate":1625560688030,"gmtModify":1633939637360,"author":{"id":"3586908956533728","authorId":"3586908956533728","name":"一支升GoGo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/e6ded53fb5327ba12901b0349ca92704","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$DiDi Global Inc.(DIDI)$🤣✌血滴滴","listText":"$DiDi Global Inc.(DIDI)$🤣✌血滴滴","text":"$DiDi Global Inc.(DIDI)$🤣✌血滴滴","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/157923110","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":124,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
