Unity is an advanced game development engine that powers over half of the world's mobile, PC, and console games.
\n
Roblox encourages users to monetize their games with an in-app currency called Robux within its walled garden. Unity offers developers more flexible tools for integrating in-app ads, in-app purchases, and other features into their games.
\n
The bulls claim Roblox's self-sustaining cycle of content creation, self-promotion, and monetization will fuel its long-term growth. The bears will point out that half of the platform's daily active users (DAUs) are under the age of 13, and they might eventually grow out of Roblox's simple experiences or graduate to a more advanced game development engine like Unity.
\n
The bulls will point to Roblox's growth rates. Between the first quarters of 2018 and 2021, Roblox's DAUs more than quadrupled from 10.3 million to 42.1 million, its total hours engaged surged from 2.1 billion to 9.7 billion, and its average bookings per DAU jumped from $11.62 to $15.48.
\n
Roblox's revenue rose 56% in 2019, soared 82% in 2020, and analysts expect 167% growth this year. But next year, they expect its revenue to rise just 26% after the pandemic ends and more students return to school.
\n
The bears will point out Roblox isn't profitable, and it probably can't achieve profitability without reducing its exchange rate between U.S. dollars and Robux for developers. However, doing so could alienate its developers and throttle the platform's output of new content.
\n
Why Roblox probably can't hit $1 trillion by 2030
\n
Even if Roblox maintains a premium price-to-sales ratio of 20 through 2030, it would need to generate $50 billion in annual sales to hit the $1 trillion mark. Roblox generated just $933 million in revenues in 2020, so it would need to generate a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 50% to hit $50 billion by 2030.
\n
If Roblox's valuations cool off, as they'll likely do over the years, it will need to generate an ever higher CAGR to become a $1 trillion company. By comparison, Amazon grew its revenues at a CAGR of 27.4% over the past decade -- and it currently trades at just four times this year's sales. Therefore, it seems highly unlikely Roblox will become a $1 trillion company within the next decade.
\n
But that doesn't mean Roblox won't generate multibagger gains over the next decade. It could remain popular long after the pandemic passes, attract a new generation of younger users, and launch more powerful tools for advanced users. As it continues to expand, economies of scale should kick in and strengthen its earnings growth. Therefore, Roblox could still have plenty of room to run -- just don't expect it to join the 12-zero club anytime soon.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Will Roblox Be a Trillion-Dollar Stock by 2030?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWill Roblox Be a Trillion-Dollar Stock by 2030?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-11 10:46 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Only a handful of tech companies have ever become $1 trillion companies. Seven-day funding remains expensive as it covers the quarter-end period, said the trader, who asked not to be named as he’s not allowed to comment on the rates market publicly.\nFor Becky Liu, head of China macro strategy at Standard Chartered Plc, the injection could be aimed at keeping markets stable ahead of nationwide celebrations for the Chinese Communist Party’s 100-year anniversary on July 1.\n“It’s more of a pre-cautionary measure to make sure there’s no liquidity stress in the coming half year-end, even when interbank liquidity conditions aren’t tight,” Liu said. “The PBOC will be proactively managing interbank liquidity conditions to meet the policy stance of being ‘reasonably accommodative.’”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":114,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":128446372,"gmtCreate":1624529173896,"gmtModify":1631891263466,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583811117795819","authorIdStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes//@Moola: Like and comment ","listText":"Yes//@Moola: Like and comment ","text":"Yes//@Moola: Like and comment","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/128446372","repostId":"2145245069","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2145245069","pubTimestamp":1624440002,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2145245069?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-23 17:20","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Nvidia Is Pursuing ARM — and What It Means for the Stock","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2145245069","media":"TipRanks","summary":"Last year, when Nvidia (NVDA) announced it intended to acquire UK chip designer ARM for $40 billion,","content":"
\n
Last year, when Nvidia (NVDA) announced it intended to acquire UK chip designer ARM for $40 billion, it set up the prospect of the chip giant becoming, well, even bigger. The addition of ARM’s semiconductor IP portfolio should add another arrow to the quiver, especially when considering ARM’s large exposure to the mobile device market.\nSince the deal still needs to be approved by the U.S., UK., European and Chinese regulators, it is uncertain whether the acquisition will eventually go through. In fact, Evercore's C.J. Muse thinks investors have a downbeat view regarding the deal’s prospects.\n“We continue to think the market views the probability of a merger here as very low, which means there is very little of the benefit from ARM embedded in NVDA’s shares,” the 5-star analyst said. “Thus, we continue to view a successful completion of the ARM transaction as a free call option to investors.”\nIt’s not only Muse who is trying to convince investors they will benefit from the merger. Nvidia has been on the front foot trying to explain why an Nvidia/Arm pairing would ultimately benefit ARM’s customers and investors, alike.\nMuse laid out the pitch, explaining that as a data-oriented economy becomes more prevalent across the globe, increasingly sophisticated frameworks are continuing to sprout. And with each passing day, as the number of end applications gets pushed further ahead by this continuous innovation, it is “becoming more difficult for ARM to address these growth vectors on its own.”\n“That is why it needs NVDA,” says Muse “Who can offer a resource-rich platform of GPU/DPU hardware and an accelerated software stack – a great complementary to ARM’s world class portfolio of CPU IP.”\nWhat’s more, the cost of this technological innovation can be reduced, by ARM customers being able to leverage NVDA’s pre-built platform to “invest R&D dollars in more specialized tasks.”\nAs for the regulatory hurdles, Muse says Nvidia remains upbeat on gaining approval from all geographies, “in particular, the UK and China.”\nAs such, Nvidia remains a \"top pick\" for Muse, who has an Outperform (i.e. Buy) rating for the shares and a $750 price target. Muse might be an Nvidia bull, but his current price target implies shares will remain range-bound for the time being. (To watch Muse’ track record, click here)\nIt’s a similar story when looking at the rest of the Street’s Nvidia reviews. The analysts’ average price target is $740, indicating minimal downside for the shares over the next 12-months. However, somewhat confusingly, rating wise, almost all are positive. Barring one Hold, the stock’s Strong Buy consensus rating is based on 27 Buys. It will be interesting to see whether the analysts downgrade their ratings or upgrade price targets over the coming months. TheS&P 500slid 1.3% to 4,166.45. Both the Dow and S&P 500 hit their session lows in the final minutes of trading and closed around those levels. TheNasdaq Compositeclosed 0.9% lower at 14,030.38. Economic comeback plays led the market losses.\nFor the week, the 30-stock Dow lost 3.5%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were down by 1.9% and 0.2%, respectively, week to date.\nSt. Louis Federal Reserve President Jim Bullardtold CNBC's \"Squawk Box\"on Friday it was natural for the Fed to tilt a little \"hawkish\" this week and that the first rate increase from the central bank would likely come in 2022. His comments came after the Fed on Wednesday added two rate hikes to its 2023 forecast and increased its inflation projection for the year, putting pressure on stock prices.\n\"The fear held by some investors is that if the Fed tightens policy sooner than expected to help cool inflationary pressures, this could weigh on future economic growth,\" Truist Advisory Services chief market strategist Keith Lerner said in a note. To be sure, he added it would be premature to give up on the so-called value trade right now.\nPockets of the market most sensitive to the economic rebound led the sell-off this week. The S&P 500 energy sector and industrials dropped 5.2% and 3.8%, respectively, for the week. Financials and materials meanwhile, lost more than 6% each. These groups had been market leaders this year on the back of the economic reopening.\nThe decline in stocks came as the Fed's actions caused a drastic flattening of the so-called Treasury yield curve. This means the yields of shorter-duration Treasurys — like the 2-year note — rose while longer-duration yields like the benchmark 10-year declined. The retreat in long-dated bond yields reflects less optimism toward economic growth, while the jump in short-end yields shows the expectations of the Fed raising rates.\nThis phenomenon hurt bank stocks particularly as their earnings could take a hit when the spread between short-term and long-term rates narrows. Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase shares on Friday lost more than 2% each. Citigroup fell by 1.8%, posting its 12th straight daily decline.\nFed Chairman Jerome Powell said Wednesday that officials have discussed tapering bond buying and would at some point begin slowing the asset purchases.\n\"This week's first whiff of an eventual change in Fed policy was a reminder that emergency monetary conditions and the free-money era will ultimately end,\" strategists at MRB Partners wrote in a note. \"We expect a series of incremental retreats from the Fed's benign inflation outlook in the coming months.\"\nCommodity prices were underpressure this weekas China attempted to cool rising prices and as the U.S. dollar strengthens. Copper, gold and platinum fell once again on Friday.\nFriday also coincided with the quarterly \"quadruple witching\" in which options and futures on indexes and equities expire. This event may have contributed to more volatile trading during the session.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":132,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":891865516,"gmtCreate":1628380073235,"gmtModify":1631891263375,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583811117795819","idStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like pls","listText":"Like pls","text":"Like pls","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":12,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":1,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/891865516","repostId":"1139912651","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":327,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":836993408,"gmtCreate":1629444283704,"gmtModify":1631891263363,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583811117795819","idStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls like","listText":"Pls like","text":"Pls like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":13,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/836993408","repostId":"1132593567","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":236,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":891120415,"gmtCreate":1628351222937,"gmtModify":1631891263387,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583811117795819","idStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/891120415","repostId":"1139912651","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":90,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":191306197,"gmtCreate":1620840303719,"gmtModify":1634195923823,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583811117795819","idStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"How to make a comment? The global market for this space spans just 10 startups worth a few tens of millions of dollars, he says.\nOver five years, Morales forecasts the space will grow to around $2 billion, but led by half the number of companies that are active now. “The logistics chip industry could eventually be measured in the trillions of units, as every product or thing can potentially be tagged with a battery-less, wireless tracker for real-time inventory management of the demand chain,” he says.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":45,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":806331763,"gmtCreate":1627631463852,"gmtModify":1631891263412,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583811117795819","idStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like","listText":"Like","text":"Like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/806331763","repostId":"1178125211","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1178125211","pubTimestamp":1627631198,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1178125211?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-30 15:46","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The 2 High-Growth Stocks Everyone Will Be Talking About Friday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1178125211","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The stock market did well on Thursday, but some choppy waters could lie ahead.","content":"
Key Points
\n
\n
Stock markets moved higher on Thursday as investors were generally positive about future economic prospects.
\n
Earnings season continued, bringing more results to investors' attention.
\n
Two stocks in particular have the potential to move markets on Friday.
\n
\n

\n
The stock market moved higher on Thursday, with investors seeing the bright side of earnings season. After falling 6% in the regular session, the social media company's stock saw an even bigger 16% drop after hours.
\n
Again, Pinterest's numbers generally looked stellar on their face. Revenue soared 125% year over year to $613 million. The company reversed a year-ago loss with adjusted net income of $170 million, working out to $0.25 per share. Although user growth slowed to just 9%, average revenue per user was sharply higher, doubling both in the U.S. and internationally.
\n
Yet Pinterest also cited an uncertain future in its guidance. The social media company believes revenue growth will slow to about 40% in the third quarter, and it said that reduced user growth has continued in July. U.S. monthly active user counts actuallyfellin the second quarter, and those declines accelerated in July.
\n
Investors had high expectations for Pinterestcoming into the quarterly report, so it's not terribly surprising to see the stock pull back after releasing results that weren't able to get over a high bar. Get ready for a very complicated report.
\n
The EV pioneer will report after the close of trading on Monday, July 26. Wall Street is looking for Tesla (ticker: TSLA) to report about 94 cents in per-share earnings from $11.5 billion in sales, according to FactSet. Beating analyst estimates is important, almost required, for any stock to remain stable in post-earnings trading. That’s true for Tesla as well.
\n
There will be a lot of moving parts, however, even more than usual for the world’s most valuable car company and its iconoclast CEO Elon Musk.
\n
Factors that will contribute to bottom-line earnings include the global semiconductor shortage, vehicle pricing, vehicle gross profit margins, and the level of profitability in Tesla’s battery storage business. In the end, however, investors will want to see a record in operating profits—no matter how it happens. That’s what could break shares out of their recent range.
\n

\n
Tesla reported more than $800 million in operating profits in the 2020 third quarter, and the stock more than doubled to around $860 in the three-month span that followed. But since operating profit growth largely paused in the subsequent quarters, shares have traded down from roughly $860 to around $640 recently. Profit stagnation has meant stock stagnation, too.
\n
The good news for Tesla bulls is Wall Street is projecting a fresh record: Operating profit is expected to be $835 million for the second quarter, driven by strong deliveries. The 2021 second quarter marked the first time Tesla delivered more than 200,000 vehicles in a single quarter.
\n
After earnings are digested, there should be endless arguments among bulls and bears about the quality of earnings. For instance, one way Tesla generates sales is by selling regulatory credits—which it earns by producing more than its fair share of electric vehicles. The company generated $518 million in first-quarter credit sales, which helped Tesla beat earnings estimates. There is always debate about what is the “normal” amount of credit sales and when will those sales dry up. Eventually, both the bulls and bears expect other auto makers to sell their own EVs, cutting off that source of revenue for Tesla.
\n
There is also the issue of Bitcoin. Tesla recognized a small gain on its Bitcoin holdings in the first quarter, but the cryptocurrency’s prices have fallen by roughly half since their April peak. That means there is a chance of a small loss. How investors react is anyone’s guess, but don’t expect Tesla to sell out of its Bitcoin position. Musk continues to indicate his company will transact in the cryptocurrency when Bitcoin mining uses more sustainable power.
\n
Investors will also want to know when Tesla’s new Germany plant and Austin, Texas facility will start delivering cars. The Austin plant will build Tesla’s Cybertruck. There will also likely be questions about advances in Tesla’s driver-assistance functions—the company recently started selling its driver-assistance software as a subscription—and how much money the company could make from its charging network. Musk tweeted this week Tesla would open its charging network to other EVs down the road.
\n
Those topics and more should be discussed on the earnings conference call scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET on Monday. Year to date, Tesla stock is down roughly 9%, trailing behind comparable 17% and 15% respective gains of the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average.Still, Tesla shares have had a strong run, up about 112% over the past 12 months.
\n

","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Tesla Reports Earnings Today. Profit stagnation has meant stock stagnation, too.\nThe good news for Tesla bulls is Wall Street is projecting a fresh record: Operating profit is expected to be $835 million for the second quarter, driven by strong deliveries. The 2021 second quarter marked the first time Tesla delivered more than 200,000 vehicles in a single quarter.\nAfter earnings are digested, there should be endless arguments among bulls and bears about the quality of earnings. Eventually, both the bulls and bears expect other auto makers to sell their own EVs, cutting off that source of revenue for Tesla.\nThere is also the issue of Bitcoin. Musk continues to indicate his company will transact in the cryptocurrency when Bitcoin mining uses more sustainable power.\nInvestors will also want to know when Tesla’s new Germany plant and Austin, Texas facility will start delivering cars. The Austin plant will build Tesla’s Cybertruck. There will also likely be questions about advances in Tesla’s driver-assistance functions—the company recently started selling its driver-assistance software as a subscription—and how much money the company could make from its charging network. Musk tweeted this week Tesla would open its charging network to other EVs down the road.\nThose topics and more should be discussed on the earnings conference call scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET on Monday. Year to date, Tesla stock is down roughly 9%, trailing behind comparable 17% and 15% respective gains of the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average.Still, Tesla shares have had a strong run, up about 112% over the past 12 months.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":19,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":148764490,"gmtCreate":1626019076810,"gmtModify":1631891263449,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583811117795819","idStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yes","listText":"Yes","text":"Yes","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/148764490","repostId":"2150463301","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2150463301","pubTimestamp":1625971562,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2150463301?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-07-11 10:46","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Will Roblox Be a Trillion-Dollar Stock by 2030?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2150463301","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Could this tween-oriented gaming platform be the next tech giant?","content":"
Only a handful of tech companies have ever become $1 trillion companies. Apple and Amazon crossed that milestone in 2018, Microsoft followed suit in 2019, and Facebook joined the club earlier this year.
\n
Many other tech stocks could join that elite group within the next decade -- and investors who hop on board today could reap massive multibagger gains.
This event may have contributed to more volatile trading during the session.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":132,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":690033161,"gmtCreate":1639612434389,"gmtModify":1639612434515,"author":{"id":"3583811117795819","authorId":"3583811117795819","name":"snd","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/489eabf54a7f41df714f354de59deefd","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583811117795819","idStr":"3583811117795819"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thanks ","listText":"Thanks ","text":"Thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/690033161","repostId":"606432528","repostType":1,"repost":{"id":606432528,"gmtCreate":1638918788668,"gmtModify":1638918922635,"author":{"id":"4098683483538500","authorId":"4098683483538500","name":"TIGGER EK","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/be1b541b356d3c40f87c1ebc0daf292d","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4098683483538500","idStr":"4098683483538500"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Grab Holdings(GRAB)$let see, my thought is to accumulate this counter whenever it dipped.
