The fear of rising inflation, stretched valuations, the return to normalcy in a post-pandemic world, and rising Treasury yields have led investors to pull the plug on tech stocks this year following a terrific performance in 2020.
\n
^SPX data by YCharts
\n
But investors on the hunt for long-term growth shouldn't get discouraged by the tech sell-off. I believe it would be good to use the decline in tech stocks as a buying opportunity. Here are a few reasons why.
\n
1. Hot trends will help tech stocks outperform
\n
Tech stocks tend to outperform the broader market over long periods. The Nasdaq-100 Technology Sector has outperformed the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average handsomely over several years.
\n
^SPX data by YCharts
\n
This is not surprising as companies operating in the technology space can create disruptive products and services that can give birth to entirely new market and revenue opportunities. Additionally, several hot trends could fuel long-term upside in tech stocks.
\n
The arrival of fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks, for instance, has supercharged companies such as Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) that were earlier struggling to find growth. Apple's annual iPhone sales hit a peak back in 2015, after which the company's shipments plateaued and eventually declined. But its fortunes have now changed. The 5G-enabled iPhone 12 has given Apple's customers a solid reason to upgrade and sent the company to the top of the smartphone sales rankings.
\n
Apple now commands 30% of the 5G smartphone market and is expected to set new sales records this year. What's more, the 5G smartphone market is expected to grow five times by 2025 as compared to last year, paving the way for long-term growth at Apple. Not surprisingly, Apple's projected earnings growth of 18% a year for the next five years is more than double what it has clocked in the past five years.
\n
\n
Meanwhile, new technology trends such as autonomous and connected cars create an entirely new revenue stream for companies that are already enjoying remarkable growth in their core businesses. NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ:SWKS) are two such companies that stand to gain big from the automotive market.
\n
NVIDIA's automotive revenue is currently just a speck of its overall business, generating $536 million in revenue last fiscal year and accounting for just 3% of total sales. But the graphics specialist has pointed out that it has scored $8 billion worth of design wins in the automotive space thanks to its driving platforms that can help vehicles achieve full autonomy. NVIDIA expects this opportunity to bear fruit over the next six fiscal years, though its product development moves and huge partner ecosystem could drive bigger gains.
\n
Meanwhile, connected cars are opening a massive diversification opportunity for Skyworks Solutions -- a company that relies on Apple for a huge chunk of sales. Skyworks has been shipping its wireless chips to several automakers and component suppliers. It is now on track to take this business up several notches after a $2.75 billion deal to acquire the infrastructure and automotive business of Silicon Laboratories. Skyworks estimates the acquisition will boost its addressable market by $20 billion a year, which could give the company's already booming business a new set of wings over the coming years.
\n
2. The pandemic has given tech companies a lasting boost
\n
It was feared that the substantial sales growth that tech companies enjoyed last year during the coronavirus pandemic would wane in 2021, but that's not the case. Online pet retailer Chewy (NYSE:CHWY) has debunked that myth, indicating that tech trends that got a shot in the arm last year are here to stay.
\n
Chewy registered 47% revenue growth in fiscal 2020 to $7.15 billion and cornered around 60% of online sales of pet products and supplies. It anticipates around 25% revenue growth in fiscal 2021, but the end-market opportunity indicates it can do much better and keep growing at elevated levels for a long time to come. That's not surprising as the online channel is just 30% of the entire pet retail market that's expected to reach $110 billion in revenue this year, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA).
\n
Chewy expects online sales to account for more than half of the overall market by 2025. It stands to win big from this growth thanks to the addition of a durable and permanent customer base during last year's COVID-19 outbreak that's expected to keep purchasing pet supplies online.
\n
Cloud communications specialist Twilio (NYSE:TWLO) is enjoying similar tailwinds. The shift to remote work and online education led to a big jump in sales last year as companies accelerated their transition to cloud-based contact centers. Twilio finished 2020 with 55% revenue growth, and it is enjoying similarly strong momentum in 2021. It delivered 62% revenue growth in Q1 and expects around 50% year over year top-line jump this quarter thanks to a fast-growing customer base and an increase in spending by existing customers.
\n
Given that the cloud-based contact center market is expected to clock nearly 26% annual growth through 2025 and hit $36 billion in revenue from just $11.5 billion last year, Twilio's days of high growth are here to stay.
\n
3. Great tech stocks are available at cheap multiples
\n
One of the reasons why investors have sold off tech stocks this year is because of their rich valuations, but the good news is that many high-growth companies look like great bargains. The Nasdaq-100's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of nearly 36 has retreated from December 2020 levels of almost 40, but a closer look indicates that some top names are undervalued when compared to the tech sector.
\n
Apple, for instance, has a trailing P/E ratio of just 28 despite stepping on the gas from a valuation standpoint. The stock was averaging a P/E ratio of over 40 last year. The fear of rising inflation, stretched valuations, the return to normalcy in a post-pandemic world, and rising Treasury yields have led investors to pull the plug on tech stocks this year following a terrific performance in 2020.\n^SPX data by YCharts\nBut investors on the hunt for long-term growth shouldn't get discouraged by the tech sell-off. I believe it would be good to use the decline in tech stocks as a buying opportunity. Here are a few reasons why.\n1. Hot trends will help tech stocks outperform\nTech stocks tend to outperform the broader market over long periods. The Nasdaq-100 Technology Sector has outperformed the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average handsomely over several years.\n^SPX data by YCharts\nThis is not surprising as companies operating in the technology space can create disruptive products and services that can give birth to entirely new market and revenue opportunities. Additionally, several hot trends could fuel long-term upside in tech stocks.\nThe arrival of fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks, for instance, has supercharged companies such as Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) that were earlier struggling to find growth. Apple's annual iPhone sales hit a peak back in 2015, after which the company's shipments plateaued and eventually declined. But its fortunes have now changed. The 5G-enabled iPhone 12 has given Apple's customers a solid reason to upgrade and sent the company to the top of the smartphone sales rankings.\nApple now commands 30% of the 5G smartphone market and is expected to set new sales records this year. What's more, the 5G smartphone market is expected to grow five times by 2025 as compared to last year, paving the way for long-term growth at Apple. Not surprisingly, Apple's projected earnings growth of 18% a year for the next five years is more than double what it has clocked in the past five years.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nMeanwhile, new technology trends such as autonomous and connected cars create an entirely new revenue stream for companies that are already enjoying remarkable growth in their core businesses. NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ:SWKS) are two such companies that stand to gain big from the automotive market.\nNVIDIA's automotive revenue is currently just a speck of its overall business, generating $536 million in revenue last fiscal year and accounting for just 3% of total sales. But the graphics specialist has pointed out that it has scored $8 billion worth of design wins in the automotive space thanks to its driving platforms that can help vehicles achieve full autonomy. NVIDIA expects this opportunity to bear fruit over the next six fiscal years, though its product development moves and huge partner ecosystem could drive bigger gains.\nMeanwhile, connected cars are opening a massive diversification opportunity for Skyworks Solutions -- a company that relies on Apple for a huge chunk of sales. Skyworks has been shipping its wireless chips to several automakers and component suppliers. It is now on track to take this business up several notches after a $2.75 billion deal to acquire the infrastructure and automotive business of Silicon Laboratories. Skyworks estimates the acquisition will boost its addressable market by $20 billion a year, which could give the company's already booming business a new set of wings over the coming years.\n2. The pandemic has given tech companies a lasting boost\nIt was feared that the substantial sales growth that tech companies enjoyed last year during the coronavirus pandemic would wane in 2021, but that's not the case. Online pet retailer Chewy (NYSE:CHWY) has debunked that myth, indicating that tech trends that got a shot in the arm last year are here to stay.\nChewy registered 47% revenue growth in fiscal 2020 to $7.15 billion and cornered around 60% of online sales of pet products and supplies. It anticipates around 25% revenue growth in fiscal 2021, but the end-market opportunity indicates it can do much better and keep growing at elevated levels for a long time to come. That's not surprising as the online channel is just 30% of the entire pet retail market that's expected to reach $110 billion in revenue this year, according to the American Pet Products Association (APPA).\nChewy expects online sales to account for more than half of the overall market by 2025. It stands to win big from this growth thanks to the addition of a durable and permanent customer base during last year's COVID-19 outbreak that's expected to keep purchasing pet supplies online.\nCloud communications specialist Twilio (NYSE:TWLO) is enjoying similar tailwinds. The shift to remote work and online education led to a big jump in sales last year as companies accelerated their transition to cloud-based contact centers. Twilio finished 2020 with 55% revenue growth, and it is enjoying similarly strong momentum in 2021. It delivered 62% revenue growth in Q1 and expects around 50% year over year top-line jump this quarter thanks to a fast-growing customer base and an increase in spending by existing customers.\nGiven that the cloud-based contact center market is expected to clock nearly 26% annual growth through 2025 and hit $36 billion in revenue from just $11.5 billion last year, Twilio's days of high growth are here to stay.\n3. Great tech stocks are available at cheap multiples\nOne of the reasons why investors have sold off tech stocks this year is because of their rich valuations, but the good news is that many high-growth companies look like great bargains. The Nasdaq-100's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of nearly 36 has retreated from December 2020 levels of almost 40, but a closer look indicates that some top names are undervalued when compared to the tech sector.\nApple, for instance, has a trailing P/E ratio of just 28 despite stepping on the gas from a valuation standpoint. The stock was averaging a P/E ratio of over 40 last year. Similarly, high-flying chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) is trading at just 31 times trailing earnings as compared to last year's average multiple of 124. The chipmaker is firing on multiple cylinders such as gaming, data centers, and gaming consoles. The company has also raised its full-year revenue growth guidance to 50% from the earlier expectation of 37%, making AMD a solid bargain given its growth.\nInvestors can find some great tech stocks that trade at attractive valuations right now and can grow at impressive rates for a long time to come. All of this tells us why the recent sell-off in tech isn't such a bad thing after all, as savvy investors can use the pullback to add some top picks to their portfolios.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":477,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":196835012,"gmtCreate":1621041167336,"gmtModify":1634194393869,"author":{"id":"3583026016063122","authorId":"3583026016063122","name":"LoveShare","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a06c752ab2b2674bc19e6cfea66acc5e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583026016063122","idStr":"3583026016063122"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"I love Tesla! $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$","listText":"I love Tesla! $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$","text":"I love Tesla! $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/196835012","repostId":"1160917868","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":298,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":196831236,"gmtCreate":1621041048525,"gmtModify":1634194396752,"author":{"id":"3583026016063122","authorId":"3583026016063122","name":"LoveShare","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a06c752ab2b2674bc19e6cfea66acc5e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3583026016063122","idStr":"3583026016063122"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Bless] ","listText":"[Bless] ","text":"[Bless]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/196831236","repostId":"1114218364","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1114218364","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1620988115,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1114218364?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-14 18:28","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Will the Nasdaq's Recovery Last?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1114218364","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Some stocks remain under pressure even when financial results look solid.\n\nThe stock market managed ","content":"
\n Some stocks remain under pressure even when financial results look solid.\n
\n
The stock market managed to regain some of its lost ground on Thursday morning, but theNasdaq Composite(NASDAQINDEX:^IXIC)wasn't able to deliver the confident bounce that many investors would've preferred to see. The technology could be as much as 45% faster than the mainstream 7-nanometer chips in many of today's laptops and phones and up to 75% more power efficient, the company said.

The technology likely will take several years to come to market. Once a major manufacturer of chips, IBM now outsources its high-volume chip production to Samsung Electronics Co Ltd but maintains a chip manufacturing research center in Albany, New York that produces test runs of chips and has joint technology development deals with Samsung and Intel Corp to use IBM's chipmaking technology.

The 2-nanometer chips will be smaller and faster than today's leading edge 5-nanonmeter chips, which are just now showing up in premium smartphones like Apple Inc's iPhone 12 models, and the 3-nanometer chips expected to come after 5-nanometer.

The technology IBM showed Thursday is the most basic building block of a chip: a transistor, which acts like an electrical on-off switch to form the 1s and 0s of binary digits at that foundation of all modern computing.

Making the switches very tiny makes them faster and more power efficient, but it also creates problems with electrons leaking when the switches are supposed to be off. The 2-nanometer chips will be smaller and faster than today's leading edge 5-nanonmeter chips, which are just now showing up in premium smartphones like Apple Inc's iPhone 12 models, and the 3-nanometer chips expected to come after 5-nanometer.The technology IBM showed Thursday is the most basic building block of a chip: a transistor, which acts like an electrical on-off switch to form the 1s and 0s of binary digits at that foundation of all modern computing.Making the switches very tiny makes them faster and more power efficient, but it also creates problems with electrons leaking when the switches are supposed to be off. Darío Gil, senior vice president and director of IBM Research, told Reuters in an interview that scientists were able to drape sheets of insulating material just a few nanometers thick to stop leaks.\"In the end, there's transistors, and everything else (in computing) relies on whether that transistor gets better or not.
Similarly, high-flying chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) is trading at just 31 times trailing earnings as compared to last year's average multiple of 124. All of this tells us why the recent sell-off in tech isn't such a bad thing after all, as savvy investors can use the pullback to add some top picks to their portfolios.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":477,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":106481890,"gmtCreate":1620139298010,"gmtModify":1634207518316,"author":{"id":"3583026016063122","authorId":"3583026016063122","name":"LoveShare","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a06c752ab2b2674bc19e6cfea66acc5e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583026016063122","authorIdStr":"3583026016063122"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Sad news! As of noon EDT, the Nasdaq was up just half a percent after having risen more than 1.5% earlier in the day. Investors ingrowth stocksappear reluctant to conclude that the volatility that the Nasdaq has endured recently has fully run its course, and that might be why gains faded toward midday.
\n
Part of the problem is that some smaller Nasdaq stocks continue to fall regardless of whether their financial reports are good or bad. BothBumble(NASDAQ:BMBL)andPoshmark(NASDAQ:POSH)joined the list of companies that have issued their latest results, and both stocks were sharply lower even though each had some fundamental successes in their respective businesses.
\n
Bumble keeps buzzing
\n
Shares of Bumble dropped another 13%, hitting a new all-time low since coming public in February. The online dating specialist seemed to give investors a strong picture of its business, but shareholders didn't have a good first impression.
\n
Bumble has made substantial progressover the past year. Revenue climbed 43% from year-ago levels when you combine its predecessor entity's sales into the mix. Bumble had massive net income, but the strong-looking results stemmed from a favorable income tax benefit. Pre-tax losses widened 27% year over year.
\n
Bumble's operating metrics improved, with total paying users rising 30% to 2.8 million and a 13% rise in revenue per paying user to almost $20. However, investors seemed to focus on projections for full-year 2021 revenue of between $724 million and $734 million. That would imply a growth rate of just 25%, which is significantly slower than what many have hoped to see.
\n
The online dating industry has been highly lucrative, and that generated high expectations for Bumble. The company will have to work harder to meet those expectations in order for the share price to bounce back and generatenew buzz for Bumble.
\n
Can Poshmark get back in style?
\n
Elsewhere, shares of Poshmark lost 17%. The secondhand-style-based social marketplace continued to see its business gain momentum, but investors once again didn't have their high expectations met.
\n
Poshmark's numbers looked good. Gross merchandise value jumped 43% year over year to $441 million, leading to a 42% rise in revenue. Poshmark managed to post a modest adjusted operating profit, although it lost $0.33 per share due largely to various noncash expense items.
\n
Among the latest initiatives from Poshmark was a new category for pet owners trying to shop for their pets. The company expanded into Australia as part of its ongoing effort to boost its international exposure, and new in-listing video and seller shipping discount features helped to heighten the value of the Poshmark platform for sellers.
\n
Like Bumble, however, investors didn't seem satisfied with Poshmark's guidance. The company sees second-quarter revenue coming in flat to down slightly from first-quarter results. As of noon EDT, the Nasdaq was up just half a percent after having risen more than 1.5% earlier in the day. Investors ingrowth stocksappear reluctant to conclude that the volatility that the Nasdaq has endured recently has fully run its course, and that might be why gains faded toward midday.\nPart of the problem is that some smaller Nasdaq stocks continue to fall regardless of whether their financial reports are good or bad. BothBumble(NASDAQ:BMBL)andPoshmark(NASDAQ:POSH)joined the list of companies that have issued their latest results, and both stocks were sharply lower even though each had some fundamental successes in their respective businesses.\nBumble keeps buzzing\nShares of Bumble dropped another 13%, hitting a new all-time low since coming public in February. The online dating specialist seemed to give investors a strong picture of its business, but shareholders didn't have a good first impression.\nBumble has made substantial progressover the past year. Revenue climbed 43% from year-ago levels when you combine its predecessor entity's sales into the mix. Bumble had massive net income, but the strong-looking results stemmed from a favorable income tax benefit. Pre-tax losses widened 27% year over year.\nBumble's operating metrics improved, with total paying users rising 30% to 2.8 million and a 13% rise in revenue per paying user to almost $20. However, investors seemed to focus on projections for full-year 2021 revenue of between $724 million and $734 million. That would imply a growth rate of just 25%, which is significantly slower than what many have hoped to see.\nThe online dating industry has been highly lucrative, and that generated high expectations for Bumble. The company will have to work harder to meet those expectations in order for the share price to bounce back and generatenew buzz for Bumble.\nCan Poshmark get back in style?\nElsewhere,shares of Poshmark lost 17%. The secondhand-style-based social marketplace continued to see its business gain momentum, but investors once again didn't have their high expectations met.\nPoshmark's numbers looked good. Gross merchandise value jumped 43% year over year to $441 million, leading to a 42% rise in revenue. Poshmark managed to post a modest adjusted operating profit, although it lost $0.33 per share due largely to various noncash expense items.\nAmong the latest initiatives from Poshmark was a new category for pet owners trying to shop for their pets. The company expanded into Australia as part of its ongoing effort to boost its international exposure, and new in-listing video and seller shipping discount features helped to heighten the value of the Poshmark platform for sellers.\nLike Bumble, however, investors didn't seem satisfied with Poshmark's guidance. The company sees second-quarter revenue coming in flat to down slightly from first-quarter results. If that means customers might be losing their appetite for Poshmark's listings, it could spell further trouble for the already hard-hit stock.\nKeep your eyes on the Nasdaq\nIn the long run, stocks perform in line with their underlying businesses. For the Nasdaq to recover, high expectations will need to get more realistic. As painful as this process is, it offers opportunities to those with confidence in companies with strong business models.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":243,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":190459853,"gmtCreate":1620646785372,"gmtModify":1634197453305,"author":{"id":"3583026016063122","authorId":"3583026016063122","name":"LoveShare","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a06c752ab2b2674bc19e6cfea66acc5e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583026016063122","authorIdStr":"3583026016063122"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[Facepalm] ","listText":"[Facepalm] ","text":"[Facepalm]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/190459853","repostId":"1154517161","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":416,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":105261715,"gmtCreate":1620307477437,"gmtModify":1631884327979,"author":{"id":"3583026016063122","authorId":"3583026016063122","name":"LoveShare","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a06c752ab2b2674bc19e6cfea66acc5e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583026016063122","authorIdStr":"3583026016063122"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hope the sales get better","listText":"Hope the sales get better","text":"Hope the sales get better","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/105261715","repostId":"2133257853","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2133257853","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1620298947,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2133257853?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-06 19:02","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Norwegian Cruise Line Q1 EPS $(2.03) Beats $(2.05) Estimate, Sales $3.10M Miss $10.52M Estimate","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2133257853","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Norwegian Cruise Line (NYSE:NCLH) reported quarterly losses of $(2.03) per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $(2.05) by 0.98 percent.

Darío Gil, senior vice president and director of IBM Research, told Reuters in an interview that scientists were able to drape sheets of insulating material just a few nanometers thick to stop leaks.

\"In the end, there's transistors, and everything else (in computing) relies on whether that transistor gets better or not. And it's not a guarantee that there will be a transistor advance generation to generation anymore. So it's a big deal every time we get a chance to say there will be another,\" Gil said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":305,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":106488764,"gmtCreate":1620139373758,"gmtModify":1634207517411,"author":{"id":"3583026016063122","authorId":"3583026016063122","name":"LoveShare","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/a06c752ab2b2674bc19e6cfea66acc5e","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3583026016063122","authorIdStr":"3583026016063122"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/106488764","repostId":"1168397171","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1168397171","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1620136572,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1168397171?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-04 21:56","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Semiconductor stocks fell in morning trading Tuesday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1168397171","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"(May 4) Semiconductor stocks fell in morning trading Tuesday, however, Citi says, Semiconductor stoc","content":"
(May 4) Semiconductor stocks fell in morning trading Tuesday, however, Citi says, Semiconductor stocks still have 'more upside before the crash'.
\n

\n
Three semiconductors have now warned that a correction is coming, but Citi thinks \"it's too early\" and expects \"more upside beforethe crash.\"
\n
Analyst Christopher Danely notes that Texas Instruments(TXN-0.6%), ON Semiconductor(ON-0.6%), and Power Integrations(POWI-0.8%) provided guidance for a \"below-seasonal quarter due to double ordering.\"
\n
Danely: \"We believe it’s too early to downgrade as all three companies are not experiencing a decline in bookings or lead times, they are just concerned that business is 'too strong'.\"
\n
Citi thinks the correction will happen at \"some point\" but only after the shortages are fixed and lead times narrow, which could happen in Q4 or the first half of next year.
