(NASDAQ:RIOT), and Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (OTC:GDLC) would have a rough few days.

Zuora shares climbed 3% for the week. The provider of cloud-based subscription services served up encouraging quarterly results, slightly beating analyst revenue and profit targets. Zuora's retention rate clocked in at its strongest rate in a year.

Riot Blockchain was the biggest gainer, soaring 19% last week. It was a down week for cryptocurrencies in general, but the week did kick off with B. Riley analyst Lucas Pipes initiating coverage of Riot Blockchain with a buy rating and a $43 price target.

Finally, there was Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund. It inched 1% higher, also defying the dip in digital currencies. The exchange-traded fund owns stakes in five leading cryptocurrencies.

Those three stocks averaged a 7.7% ascent for the week, fueled primarily by Riot Blockchain's bullish analyst initiation. The S&P 500 rose by 1.2% for the week, so I was wrong. Right now, I see AMC Entertainment Holdings (NYSE:AMC), Riot Blockchain, and Oatly (NASDAQ:OTLY) as vulnerable investments in the near term. Here's why I think these are three stocks to avoid this week.

1. AMC Entertainment

It was a big weekend at the movies, and that may give the rally in AMC shares a lift early in the holiday-abridged trading week. It's not likely to last.

Before you figure this is more of the same from a multiplex permabear, keep in mind that I have had plenty of kind things to say about AMC in recent months. I argued that investors shouldn't bury AMC when it was trading for three bucks and change in late January, just two days before it became a meme stock. I went on to make the seemingly unfashionable move of arguing a bullish case for owning AMC and even making a case for the country's leading exhibitor to be a buyout candidate in the months to follow.

Finally, seven weeks ago I singled out AMC as a stock that can double again. It did go on to double, and it's on the verge of tripling from that starting line.

However, with the stock a multi-bagger -- and its share count nearly quadrupling over the past year -- we can no longer assess AMC as a turnaround story. It's trading for more than it was in its prime with an enterprise value of $23 billion. I don't think AMC is going under like so many bears out there, but it's hard for someone who has seen the good in the multiplex operator in the past to continue arguing that it's a fair value here. When the frenzy is done and the bulls and bears move on to fresh playthings this will be less than a $23 billion business.

2. Riot Blockchain

Riot Blockchain may have been bailed out by a bullish analyst initiation last week, but it can't escape gravity forever. Crypto mining is coming under fire for its heavy drain on natural resources, even to the point that it was banned in Iran last week after the country blamed the practice for power outages in some cities.

I'm a long-term believer in cryptocurrencies, but Riot Blockchain was overvalued even before the market for digital currencies started correcting sharply last month. I see it giving back a good chunk of the gains it scored last week.

3. Oatly

Oat milk is booming in popularity, making it an opportune time for Oatly to go public. The Oatly IPO was a success, but perhaps it's been too successful. Oatly commands a market cap of $14 billion. Who would pay 30 times trailing sales for a distributor of oat milk-based products?

It's certainly true that Oatly is growing quickly. Revenue more than doubled last year. However, Oatly had to pay up for that growth. Gross margin contracted last year, and its net loss nearly doubled. Plant-based milk alternatives include soy, almond, and now oat, but it currently accounts for less 10% of the global milk market. There's market share for the taking, but ultimately this is just a commodity.

Oalty may be spending a lot of money on savvy marketing and scoring distribution deals, but is there really a difference between Oatly's product and the competition? No one holds a patent to plant-based milk products. It's just a matter of time before the market either demands profits -- and growth will slow dramatically -- or realizes that you don't pay 30 times deficit-saddled revenue for a commodity distributor.

If you're looking for safe stocks, you aren't likely to find them in AMC Entertainment, Riot Blockchain, and Oatly this week.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Stocks to Avoid This Week
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Stocks to Avoid This Week\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-01 23:33 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
In my three stocks to avoid article last week, I predicted that Zuora (NYSE:ZUO), Riot Blockchain (NASDAQ:RIOT), and Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (OTC:GDLC) would have a rough few days.Zuora ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"OTLY":"Oatly Group AB","RIOT":"Riot Platforms","AMC":"AMC院线","ZUO":"祖睿","GDLC":"Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund LLC"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/06/01/3-stocks-to-avoid-this-week/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2140626460","content_text":"In my three stocks to avoid article last week, I predicted that Zuora (NYSE:ZUO), Riot Blockchain (NASDAQ:RIOT), and Grayscale Digital Large Cap Fund (OTC:GDLC) would have a rough few days.Zuora shares climbed 3% for the week. before the market close Monday afternoon, a few options traders made some large bets Apple stock will continue its upward trajectory over the coming weeks and months.
\n
The call sweeps and blocks purchased within the last 2 minutes of trading Monday total more than $7.58 million and range in expiry date from April 30 to Sept. 17.
\n
It will be interesting for retail traders to see if these calls are followed up with shorter dated calls on Tuesday.
\n
The Apple Trades:At 3:34 p.m. Monday, a trader executed a call block of 800 Apple options with a $135 strike price expiring on Sept. 17. The trade represented a $524,000 bullish bet for which the trader paid $6.55 per option contract.
\n
At 3:58 p.m., a trader executed a call sweep of 2,893 Apple options with a $120 strike price expiring on April 30. The trade represented a $2.27-million bullish bet for which the trader paid $7.83 per option contract.
\n
At 3:58 p.m., a trader executed a call sweep of 1,080 Apple options with a $120 strike price expiring on April 30. The trade represented a $847,800 bullish bet for which the trader paid $7.85 per option contract.
\n
At 3:59 p.m., a trader executed a call sweep of 1,743 Apple options with a $120 strike price expiring on April 30. The trade represented a $1.37-million bullish bet for which the trader paid $7.85 per option contract.
\n
At 3:59 p.m., a trader executed a call sweep of 3,268 Apple options with a $120 strike price expiring on April 30. The trade represented a $2.57-million bullish bet for which the trader paid $7.85 per option contract.
\n
Why It’s Important:When a sweep order occurs, it indicates the trader wanted to get into a position quickly and is anticipating an imminent large move in stock price. What That Means for the Stock.","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1169827391","media":"Barrons","summary":"Stock in Amazon.com has barely budged since the e-commerce and cloud- computing giant reported stell","content":"
Stock in Amazon.com has barely budged since the e-commerce and cloud- computing giant reported stellar fourth-quarter results that were overshadowed by the news that CEO Jeff Bezos will shift into the role of executive chairman, with Amazon Web Services chief Andy Jassy taking over the top slot.
\n
The combination of that pending change, along with uncertainty over how the reopening of the economy will affect shopping behavior, has some investors a little uneasy about the stock’s near-term prospects.
\n
They will get a fresh look at the situation after the close of trading on Thursday, when Amazon (ticker: AMZN) posts its results for the March quarter. Amazon has told investors to expect revenue of $100 billion to $106 billion, with operating income of between $3 billion and $6.5 billion, and about $2 billion in costs related to Covid-19. The Wall Street consensus calls for revenue of $104.5 billion, with profits of $9.54 a share.
\n
The Street also clearly expects the quarter’s results to show continued strength in e-commerce. According to FactSet, Wall Street analysts expect online-stores revenue of $51.5 billion, up 41% from a year ago, with third-party sales of $21.7 billion, up 50%. Subscription revenues are expected to be $7.3 billion, up 32%, while revenue from physical stores is expected to be $4.3 billion, down 8%. AWS revenues are projected at $13.2 billion, up 29%.
\n
One open question is what forecasts the company will make for the June quarter as parts of the country begin to return to more normal economic activity. The Street is projecting June quarter revenue of $108.7 billion and profits of $10.81 a share.
\n
In an earnings preview note, Truist analyst Youssef Squali reiterated a Buy rating on the stock and a target of $3,750 for the share price. The stock closed Tuesday at $3,417.43, up 4.9% year to date.
\n
He expects revenue to come in at the high end of the range Amazon predicted, saying e-commerce demand has remained strong both in the U.S. and internationally, given that the pandemic has been slow to subside. Conversations with people in the industry and strong earning disclosed last week by Snap bode well for Amazon’s ad business, which is lumped into a category called “other,” he wrote. He also thinks the market continues to underestimate the long-term growth potential of the dominance of the company’s two key businesses—e-commerce and AWS—as well as the company’s “emerging leadership in online advertising.”
\n
Stifel analyst Scott Devitt is similarly bullish, repeating a Buy rating and $4,000 target price. Amazon has told investors to expect revenue of $100 billion to $106 billion, with operating income of between $3 billion and $6.5 billion, and about $2 billion in costs related to Covid-19. The Wall Street consensus calls for revenue of $104.5 billion, with profits of $9.54 a share.\nThe Street also clearly expects the quarter’s results to show continued strength in e-commerce. AWS revenues are projected at $13.2 billion, up 29%.\nOne open question is what forecasts the company will make for the June quarter as parts of the country begin to return to more normal economic activity. The Street is projecting June quarter revenue of $108.7 billion and profits of $10.81 a share.\nIn an earnings preview note, Truist analyst Youssef Squali reiterated a Buy rating on the stock and a target of $3,750 for the share price. The stock closed Tuesday at $3,417.43, up 4.9% year to date.\nHe expects revenue to come in at the high end of the range Amazon predicted, saying e-commerce demand has remained strong both in the U.S. and internationally, given that the pandemic has been slow to subside. Conversations with people in the industry and strong earning disclosed last week by Snap bode well for Amazon’s ad business, which is lumped into a category called “other,” he wrote. He also thinks the market continues to underestimate the long-term growth potential of the dominance of the company’s two key businesses—e-commerce and AWS—as well as the company’s “emerging leadership in online advertising.”\nStifel analyst Scott Devitt is similarly bullish, repeating a Buy rating and $4,000 target price. He sees 40% top-line growth, a little ahead of the Street consensus. “The focus on the report will largely center on the outlook as Amazon laps the difficult prior year compares from the onset of the pandemic,” he wrote in a research note.\n“Growth in a post-Covid environment remains largely uncertain for Amazon and across the e-commerce landscape,” Devitt said. “Our [June quarter] revenue estimates are ahead of consensus as we see tailwinds stemming from strong growth in new Prime members and diversification across geographies and categories supporting the retail business as economies recover.” He also said AWS and the ad business are well positioned for a recovery.\nWedbush analyst Michael Pachter likewise maintained an Outperform rating and $4,000 target. He thinks the company will post more revenue and operating income than it had forecast, an outperformance resulting from market-share gains in e-commerce. \n“We believe that a more stable economy, continued imposition of shelter-in-place orders in many of Amazon’s markets, continued expansion into the very large grocery segment, and outstanding execution likely drove strong results in Q1,” he said. “In addition, Amazon Pharmacy (launched February 2) represents a U.S. [addressable market] of around $600 billion, so any market share gains could provide further upside.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":58,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":375545285,"gmtCreate":1619370746147,"gmtModify":1634273981211,"author":{"id":"3579225325376117","authorId":"3579225325376117","name":"Greenfirefox","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f8a02efbcd5913de0f514930d43c908b","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3579225325376117","authorIdStr":"3579225325376117"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Sigh","listText":"Sigh","text":"Sigh","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/375545285","repostId":"1101099559","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1101099559","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1619191663,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1101099559?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-23 23:27","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Dow rebounds 200 points led by banks and tech as market shrugs off higher tax fears","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1101099559","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"U.S. stocks rebounded on Friday as Wall Street reassessed concerns arising from news that the White ","content":"
U.S. stocks rebounded on Friday as Wall Street reassessed concerns arising from news that the White House could seek a hike to the capital gains tax.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 200 points amid a jump in Goldman Sachs and Apple shares.
