expressed surprise that the news around car rental company Hertz Global Holdings was driving the stock price surge.
\n
The Tesla CEO tweeted to say he would like to “emphasize that no contract has been signed yet” between the two companies and that the “Hertz deal has zero effect” on the automaker’s economics.
\n
Ark has been booking profit in the stock since early September when shares of the company began an upward march.
\n
Including the latest sale, the New York-based money managing firm has sold about $1.23 billion worth of shares in Tesla since the start of September.
\n
Despite the sell-off, Tesla remains Ark Invest's biggest bet across ETFs — a stock it predicts would hit the $3,000 mark by the end of 2025.
\n
Ark Invest sold Tesla shares via the Ark Innovation ETF on Tuesday. Besides ARKK, the Ark Autonomous Tech. & Robotics ETF and the ArkNext Generation Internet ETF also have stakes in Tesla.
\n
Each of the three ETFs — which count Tesla as their largest exposure — has risen between 14% to 16% in the past month. Ahead of Tuesday’s trade, the three ETFs together held a total of 3.01 million shares — worth $3.64 billion — in the electric vehicle company.
\n
Here are a few other key trades for Ark on Tuesday:
\n
\n
Bought 746,860 shares — estimated to be worth $35.55 million in DraftKings Inc on the day the stock closed 2.9% lower at $47.60 a share.
\n
Sold 847,901 shares — estimated to be worth $21.97 million — in Palantir Technologies. But with the stock price, it's all about \"what have you done for me lately?\" Investors were disappointed with a \"miss\" on the Disney+ subscriber numbers from the most recent quarter, and the stock pulled back a bit after earnings. On this Motley Fool Live episode recorded on May 26, Motley Fool contributors Toby Bordelon and Brian Withers discuss the results from its recent quarter and whether the stock has \"priced in\" the reopening surge already.
\n
Toby Bordelon: Let's jump into the next stock here, and lets talk about Disney, what not to love? We got theme parks reopening. What's going on. We have California theme parks are open now. They opened at the end of April. They are heading to full capacity. June 1st of 4th, one of those. I can't remember the exact date, but next week or the week after, they will be at full capacity. This is fantastic.
\n
If you remember to pre-pandemic if you followed Disney, their biggest revenue segment was the theme parks, which also includes the cruise lines. But to have those parks getting back to full capacity is a very good thing. People are coming back to theaters. I saw a recent survey from a movie theater chain or Fandango I believe it was. The percentages are really high in terms of people who are going to theaters who want to go back, who are going to go see multiple movies at summer or plan to. That's a really good sign. Marvel's Phase Four is about to kick off in the theaters. We got a couple of new shows on Disney+ Loki starting up, beginning in June.
\n
But let's talk about one thing. Let's highlight one thing here. The recent earnings report with a little bit disappointing to some investors because of those Disney+ numbers. What were those numbers? They came in at 104 million subscribers, and were expecting 109 million, and so were quibbling at about a five percent difference. When if you look at what's happened in the past year-and-a-half, Disney+ has gone from 0-104 million in about 17 months. That's amazing and I don't want to, I think if you are quibbling over five million, you're missing the point here. They'll outperform Netflix in the quarter in terms of additional subscribers. ESPN+ seems to be growing, which is strange when we think about because that's the one that probably has the least amount of original content. They are doing well, average revenue per user is growing at that at ESPN+ turn, churn at Disney+ is not a problem. They seem to be doing quite well there. I think this company is doing fine. I don't think anyone should worry about this, and future looks good for them.
\n
Brian Withers: That's an exciting update. Toby, I love to see the parks coming back open again. But the market has already priced a lot of this reopening already into the stock. I looked at the stock prices from March of 2020, mid-March when the coronavirus really came in and started to shut things down. Disney [stock] has doubled since then. Do you think we could see Disney shares priced lower a year from now?
\n
Toby Bordelon: It's certainly possible. Like you said, there is a lot of priced in right now. But I think we may be surprised when we get to the end of this year about the rebound surge of the theme parks and the movie theaters. I'm not sure that even with pricing in this reopening trade as it were, that we're really capturing the fullness of what Disney can do.
\n
Look at those theme parks. We got the Star Wars hotel that's opening up, which is a multi-day experience that you stay in this hotel and you don't leave. The new Avengers Campus at Disneyland, I think that's opening up beginning of June as well. There is a lot going on to both bringing people back and to potentially bring in a new segment of people who might not have been big fans of Disneyland, Disney World parks before with The Avengers and Star Wars stuff. This is a major entertainment juggernaut and that's not going to change anytime soon. Maybe you see a little bit of drop-off in the stock price, but it's not something I would worry about really.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Disney's Reopening Is On Track, But What's Up With the Stock?
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nDisney's Reopening Is On Track, But What's Up With the Stock?\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-18 19:50 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Disney (NYSE:DIS) stock has doubled from its pandemic low in March 2020. I don't think anyone should worry about this, and future looks good for them.\nBrian Withers: That's an exciting update. Toby, I love to see the parks coming back open again. But the market has already priced a lot of this reopening already into the stock. I looked at the stock prices from March of 2020, mid-March when the coronavirus really came in and started to shut things down. Disney [stock] has doubled since then. Do you think we could see Disney shares priced lower a year from now?\nToby Bordelon: It's certainly possible. Like you said, there is a lot of priced in right now. But I think we may be surprised when we get to the end of this year about the rebound surge of the theme parks and the movie theaters. I'm not sure that even with pricing in this reopening trade as it were, that we're really capturing the fullness of what Disney can do.\nLook at those theme parks. Maybe you see a little bit of drop-off in the stock price, but it's not something I would worry about really.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":459,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":166272302,"gmtCreate":1624014875206,"gmtModify":1634024109228,"author":{"id":"3574902015347794","authorId":"3574902015347794","name":"junhong9788","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e8a1c754a393b8db54cd88b0bbf543","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574902015347794","authorIdStr":"3574902015347794"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wheres teslaaaa","listText":"Wheres teslaaaa","text":"Wheres teslaaaa","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/166272302","repostId":"1148576248","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1148576248","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1623979883,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1148576248?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-18 09:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"NIO Is Winning","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1148576248","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"NIO is #1 in China's electric SUV market for good reason. The company's success is driven by its brilliant innovations and marketing strategy.NIO is growing faster than Tesla, and yet, it is trading at a discount.NIO Inc. stands out for its strong market position- #1 market share in electric SUV in China- and innovation in the rapidly growing and highly competitive electric vehicle industry. The ES8 is equipped with ADAS and AI system [NOMI] and is comparable to the BYD Song, Tesla Model X, the Audi Q7 45 e-Tron, etc.
\n
Source: Company
\n
Leveraging the installed base and customer goodwill due to the highly successful ES8, NIO successfully launched the ES6 and EC6.Recently, the company launched the ET7, its first sedan.
\n
Today, NIO is the top-selling brand in China's all-electric SUV market in April with a 23% market share, higher than Tesla's 17%, WM Motor and XPeng Motors'(NYSE:XPEV)7%, according to China Automotive Technology and Research Center data.
\n
One of the biggest competitive differentiators is NIO'sbattery strategy, which all but eliminates range anxiety, one of the biggest barriers to mass EV adoption. Not only could NIO cars be charged at any charging station for EVs, but the company also built hundreds of battery swapping stations in key cities in China, with plans to expanding to Europe.
\n
NIO's battery swapping strategy also gives the company the ability to offer a battery-as-a-service [BaaS] solution, which reduces the upfrontcostof purchasing an NIO vehicle by ~$11,000. Since cost is another major barrier to mass EV adoption, NIO's battery strategy appears brilliant as it solves both the range and cost problems.
\n
Source: Company
\n
Another differentiator is the NIO brand, which management created brilliantly by introducing the EP9 in 2016. Six EP9s have been sold to NIO investors for 2.5 million pounds, creating an aura of exclusivity and quality around the brand. Next, NIO targeted the mass-market luxury SUV segment with the ES8, firmly establishing the company as a luxury car OEM.
\n
Source: Company
\n
Chinese companies must struggle against the common perception that they make low-quality products. This is the same perception issue that Japanese companies faced following their defeat after WW2. Japan solved this problem by moving up the value chain as their economy matured and creating high-quality brands such as Sony(NYSE:SONY). Today, Japan is known for its craftsmanship.
\n
China is following the same trajectory, and NIO is one of the emerging brands destroying the perception that \"made in China\" equates to poor quality. I strongly believe that investors who stubbornly hold on to that old perception will miss out on investing in some of the greatest brands the world will ever see.
\n
Buying an NIO car means much more than just getting a vehicle; it means getting into an exclusive club of services and convenience. Benefits include access to hundreds of swapping stations, lifetime free roadside rescue (including charge vans), lifetime free cellular connectivity, lifetime free warranty, and excellent customer service. This is a powerful selling point for NIO, differentiating it from Tesla, which hasrecentlydeveloped a poor reputation on the customer service front in China.
\n
Source: Company
\n
The company is pushing the envelope even further with NIO House, a literal clubhouse for customers, and NIO Life, which includes NIO branded lifestyle products. NIO's effort to build a lifestyle around its cars seems to be working. This is good news for investors because the only way to escape the competitive battlefield of automobile OEM is to sell services and lifestyles to customers. This is why Ferrari's (RACE) operating margin is well over 20%, while Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) are in the single digits.
\n
Financials & Valuation
\n
NIO is in hyper-growth mode. In 2020, the company generated $2.5 billion in revenue, up 126% y/y. In 2021, the company is expected to grow 117% y/y to $5.4 billion.
\n
The company is not yet profitable but is expected to be by 2022. Gross margin only turned positive in 2020 and is expected to be 19.3% in 2021. EBITDA is expected to be negative $258 million in 2021 and a positive $206 million in 2022. Free cash flow is expected to be negative $42 million in 2021 before turning to a positive $354 million in 2022.
\n
However, despite the cash burn expected in 2021, investors should feel at ease since the company exited 2020 with $5.9 billion of cash and cash equivalents. Including $600 million in short-term investments and subtracting ~$2.1 billion in debt and operating leases and the expected negative free cash flow in 2021, NIO should exit 2021 with over $4 billion in net cash and investments. That is plenty of buffers since NIO is expected to generate positive free cash flow in 2022.
\n
Since NIO is not yet profitable, we will look at the forward EV/Sales multiple as is typical for hyper-growth companies not yet generating a profit. The company went public in September 2018, trading at around 7 to 8 times EV/Sales, before bottoming out at around 0.7 times sales in May 2019. The market, however, caught the EV fever in April 2020 and sent NIO's valuation soaring to a peak of 14.6x by January 2021. After the growth sell-off we recently experienced, NIO is currently sitting at a much more reasonable 8 times forward sales. This is a significant discount to TSLA's 10.2 times forward EV/Sales despite growing twice as fast (TSLA is expected to grow revenues by 57% in 2021 compared to NIO's 117%).
\n
Risks
\n
There are many risks associated with owning NIO.
\n
Although its battery swapping strategy is highly differentiated and seems to be growing rapidly, the jury is still out on the ultimate market share of battery swapping or fast-charging infrastructure. If fast charging technology continues to advance significantly, it will likely erode a key advantage of battery swapping: speed.
\n
NIO's business model is innovative and new. Unfortunately, the flip side of that is that it is untested, and NIO remains unprofitable. For many investors, NIO will remain a \"show me\" story until the profitability of its business model improves.
\n
NIO's ability to expand globally may be limited by the rising geopolitical tension between China and the US, and to a lesser extent, with Japan and Europe. The geopolitical situation remains highly opaque and uncertain, and is a risk factor for all auto OEMs.
\n
Auto OEMs are currently facing a severe chip shortage. In addition, the chip density in automobiles is increasing, making the OEMs increasingly reliant on semiconductor suppliers and foundries.
\n
NIO's competitive advantages may not overcome the massive scale advantage of ICE OEMs and much bigger EV players like Tesla and China's BYD.
\n
Takeaway
\n
NIO's technical and business model innovations make it a highly differentiated company in the exciting and rapidly growing EV market. The company is winning, and its competitive moat is getting bigger as its ecosystem of vehicles and services grows. Relative to the industry leader, Tesla, NIO's stock price seems like a bargain given its faster growth rate and lower multiples.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
NIO Is Winning
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nNIO Is Winning\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-18 09:31 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nNIO is #1 in China's electric SUV market for good reason.\nThe company's success is driven by its brilliant innovations and marketing strategy.\nNIO is growing faster than Tesla, and yet, it is...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"NIO":"蔚来"},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4435341-nio-is-winning","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1148576248","content_text":"Summary\n\nNIO is #1 in China's electric SUV market for good reason.\nThe company's success is driven by its brilliant innovations and marketing strategy.\nNIO is growing faster than Tesla, and yet, it is trading at a discount.\n\nPonyWang/E+ via Getty Images\nNIO Inc. I mean, you can't get a better leader than they have.\"\nIn the same \"Trading Nation\" interview, Matt Maley, chief market strategist at Miller Tabak, noted that Tesla's stock has been relatively flat for the past several months, trading around its 200-day moving average.\n\n\"You don't see that very often,\" he said. \"Whichever way it breaks away from that 200-day moving average will give us a little bit of a hint [about] its next move.\"\nThe stock is also forming a descending triangle pattern, Maley said, saying the upper end of the pattern is around $650 and the lower end sits at $563. Those are the two levels to watch, and where shares move relative to those levels will be very indicative of where Tesla is headed, he said.\n\"In the past, when the stock has been stuck in this sideways range, once it breaks out, it starts to move in a big way. This should be no different,\" he said.\nTesla's deliveries report in the first week of July could be a breakout catalyst, Maley said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":60,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":169445569,"gmtCreate":1623849204951,"gmtModify":1634027144224,"author":{"id":"3574902015347794","authorId":"3574902015347794","name":"junhong9788","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e8a1c754a393b8db54cd88b0bbf543","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574902015347794","authorIdStr":"3574902015347794"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Happy 7th anniversary tigers! Elon Musk's company ranks as the top position in Wood's flagship exchange-traded fund, ARK Innovation ETF. But Wood also likes several healthcare stocks. In this Motley Fool Live video recorded on April 7, Motley Fool contributors Keith Speights and Brian Orelli identify four healthcare stocks that are among Wood's top holdings that just might deliver bigger gains than Tesla.
\n
Keith Speights: All right. Let's switch to a fun story, Brian. Now, you and I, we cover healthcare. We don't get to talk about stocks like Tesla very often, we just don't. We're going to talk about Tesla, kind of.
\n
Cathie Wood, famous investor, very well-known investor, highly followed investor. Her ARK Invest came out not long ago with a 2025 price target for Tesla that caused all kinds of controversy. It's way higher than Tesla's current price. They took a beating for predicting that Tesla's shares were going to really just skyrocket over the next few years.
\n
But Cathie Wood also likes quite a few healthcare stocks. I'm curious, Brian. Are there any of Cathie Wood's favorite healthcare stocks that you think could deliver bigger gains than Tesla will over the next five years?
\n
Brian Orelli: Yeah. The only one in the top holdings that I saw that I own is Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX). It's big and in cystic fibrosis. Growth has been slowing down as it will treat more patients with its different medications. It's up to maybe three to four medications depending on how you count the combinations.
\n
It needs to find its next growth driver. There's plenty of pipeline candidates both internally developed, as well as licensed products. Among the licensed products, CRISPR Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CRSP) has a deal with the company. They have a treatment for beta-thalassemia and sickle cell that's already in clinical trials and has shown early efficacy, and then they have some earlier programs in Duchenne's muscular dystrophy, a disease called DM1, and cystic fibrosis.
\n
On the rest of her list, I really like Regeneron (NASDAQ:REGN). It's one that I've always wished I owned, but it always seemed a little expensive. But that's the way good companies go sometimes and so sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and buy it and I never did.
\n
If you're going to buy a large biotech company, you want to go for one with a lot of shots on goal and Regeneron has maybe almost the most shots on goal. It's really done well. I can't even think of Regeneron drug that has actually failed. I think maybe that's one of the reasons why it's doing well, even though it's had a really high price. Valuation is just because it's had so few failures, it's done really well at developing antibodies and being successful at that.
\n
Anything on the list that you saw?
\n
Speights: Yeah. First, I would agree with you on both Vertex and Regeneron. The tickers there by the way are VRTX for Vertex and REGN for Regeneron. Yeah. When you're looking at big biotechs, those two are my favorites.
\n
Like you Brian, I own Vertex. I don't own Regeneron, but also like you, I wish I had bought it several years ago. Those are great picks that I do think both of those depending on how their pipeline candidates play out over the next few years, both of those stocks could potentially beat Tesla.
\n
I also like and own Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC). Ticker there is TDOC. That's another Cathie Wood favorite that she is very bullish on. I think Teladoc Health has been beaten down quite a bit over the last couple of months, but I think it's a stock that could very easily outperform Tesla over the next five years as virtual care really gains momentum.
\n
I will throw in a much riskier stock that I don't own, but just I've started doing a little research into. It's a stock called Twist Bioscience (NASDAQ:TWST). The ticker there is TWST. What Twist does is it makes synthetic DNA. The company offers next-generation sequencing products. It develops antibodies for biopharma companies, it's working on storing data and DNA.
\n
The market cap right now is only around $6 billion. They generated revenue of $90 million last year. It's priced at a premium, but investors are expecting great things from Twist Bioscience. Again, it's one of Cathie Wood's favorite biotech stocks and it's one that, like I said, is really risky, but it could pay off over the long run. It's one that I'm keeping my eye on.
\n
Orelli: Twist just came on to my watchlist like in the last week.
\n
Speights: Yeah.
\n
Orelli: Because it was spurred on by this podcast. Luke Timmerman does a podcast called The Long Run, and the CEO, Emily Leproust was on the podcast. I'll put that link to that podcast in the chat. If anybody wants to get more information on Twist and what they're doing, I think that was a really interesting podcast.
\n
Speights: Maybe sometime in the not-too-distant future, Brian, you and I can go a little deeper, dive into Twist Bioscience just to give our viewers more information about this biotech that's on both of our watchlists right now.
\n
Orelli: Yeah, that sounds good.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
4 Cathie Wood Stocks That Could Deliver Bigger Gains Than Tesla
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n4 Cathie Wood Stocks That Could Deliver Bigger Gains Than Tesla\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-16 19:51 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Everyone knows that ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood is a huge fan of Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA). Elon Musk's company ranks as the top position in Wood's flagship exchange-traded fund, ARK Innovation ETF. But Wood also likes several healthcare stocks. In this Motley Fool Live video recorded on April 7, Motley Fool contributors Keith Speights and Brian Orelli identify four healthcare stocks that are among Wood's top holdings that just might deliver bigger gains than Tesla.\nKeith Speights: All right. Let's switch to a fun story, Brian. Now, you and I, we cover healthcare. We don't get to talk about stocks like Tesla very often, we just don't. We're going to talk about Tesla, kind of.\nCathie Wood, famous investor, very well-known investor, highly followed investor. Her ARK Invest came out not long ago with a 2025 price target for Tesla that caused all kinds of controversy. It's way higher than Tesla's current price. They took a beating for predicting that Tesla's shares were going to really just skyrocket over the next few years.\nBut Cathie Wood also likes quite a few healthcare stocks. I'm curious, Brian. Are there any of Cathie Wood's favorite healthcare stocks that you think could deliver bigger gains than Tesla will over the next five years?\nBrian Orelli: Yeah. The only one in the top holdings that I saw that I own is Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX). It's big and in cystic fibrosis. Growth has been slowing down as it will treat more patients with its different medications. It's up to maybe three to four medications depending on how you count the combinations.\nIt needs to find its next growth driver. There's plenty of pipeline candidates both internally developed, as well as licensed products. Among the licensed products, CRISPR Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CRSP) has a deal with the company. They have a treatment for beta-thalassemia and sickle cell that's already in clinical trials and has shown early efficacy, and then they have some earlier programs in Duchenne's muscular dystrophy, a disease called DM1, and cystic fibrosis.\nOn the rest of her list, I really like Regeneron (NASDAQ:REGN). It's one that I've always wished I owned, but it always seemed a little expensive. But that's the way good companies go sometimes and so sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and buy it and I never did.\nIf you're going to buy a large biotech company, you want to go for one with a lot of shots on goal and Regeneron has maybe almost the most shots on goal. It's really done well. I can't even think of Regeneron drug that has actually failed. I think maybe that's one of the reasons why it's doing well, even though it's had a really high price. Valuation is just because it's had so few failures, it's done really well at developing antibodies and being successful at that.\nAnything on the list that you saw?\nSpeights: Yeah. First, I would agree with you on both Vertex and Regeneron. The tickers there by the way are VRTX for Vertex and REGN for Regeneron. Yeah. When you're looking at big biotechs, those two are my favorites.\nLike you Brian, I own Vertex. I don't own Regeneron, but also like you, I wish I had bought it several years ago. Those are great picks that I do think both of those depending on how their pipeline candidates play out over the next few years, both of those stocks could potentially beat Tesla.\nI also like and own Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC). Ticker there is TDOC. That's another Cathie Wood favorite that she is very bullish on. I think Teladoc Health has been beaten down quite a bit over the last couple of months, but I think it's a stock that could very easily outperform Tesla over the next five years as virtual care really gains momentum.\nI will throw in a much riskier stock that I don't own, but just I've started doing a little research into. It's a stock called Twist Bioscience (NASDAQ:TWST). The ticker there is TWST. What Twist does is it makes synthetic DNA. The company offers next-generation sequencing products. It develops antibodies for biopharma companies, it's working on storing data and DNA.\nThe market cap right now is only around $6 billion. They generated revenue of $90 million last year. It's priced at a premium, but investors are expecting great things from Twist Bioscience. Again, it's one of Cathie Wood's favorite biotech stocks and it's one that, like I said, is really risky, but it could pay off over the long run. It's one that I'm keeping my eye on.\nOrelli: Twist just came on to my watchlist like in the last week.\nSpeights: Yeah.\nOrelli: Because it was spurred on by this podcast. Luke Timmerman does a podcast called The Long Run, and the CEO, Emily Leproust was on the podcast. I'll put that link to that podcast in the chat. If anybody wants to get more information on Twist and what they're doing, I think that was a really interesting podcast.\nSpeights: Maybe sometime in the not-too-distant future, Brian, you and I can go a little deeper, dive into Twist Bioscience just to give our viewers more information about this biotech that's on both of our watchlists right now.\nOrelli: Yeah, that sounds good.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":36,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":630850473,"gmtCreate":1642778330993,"gmtModify":1642778331086,"author":{"id":"3574902015347794","authorId":"3574902015347794","name":"junhong9788","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e8a1c754a393b8db54cd88b0bbf543","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574902015347794","authorIdStr":"3574902015347794"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"😔","listText":"😔","text":"😔","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/630850473","repostId":"1104201332","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1104201332","kind":"news","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1642777462,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1104201332?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2022-01-21 23:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Palantir Shares Fell More Than 6% Following the Market","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1104201332","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Palantir shares fell more than 6% following the market.","content":"

Palantir shares fell more than 6% following the market.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; But with the stock price, it's all about \"what have you done for me lately?\" Investors were disappointed with a \"miss\" on the Disney+ subscriber numbers from the most recent quarter, and the stock pulled back a bit after earnings.
Maybe you see a little bit of drop-off in the stock price, but it's not something I would worry about really.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":459,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":161021251,"gmtCreate":1623897187873,"gmtModify":1631885595994,"author":{"id":"3574902015347794","authorId":"3574902015347794","name":"junhong9788","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e8a1c754a393b8db54cd88b0bbf543","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574902015347794","authorIdStr":"3574902015347794"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$[难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] ","listText":"$SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$[难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] ","text":"$SINGAPORE AIRLINES LTD(C6L.SI)$[难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过] [难过]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/161021251","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":811,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":169445569,"gmtCreate":1623849204951,"gmtModify":1634027144224,"author":{"id":"3574902015347794","authorId":"3574902015347794","name":"junhong9788","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e8a1c754a393b8db54cd88b0bbf543","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574902015347794","authorIdStr":"3574902015347794"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Happy 7th anniversary tigers! (NYSE:NIO) stands out for its strong market position- #1 market share in electric SUV in China- and innovation in the rapidly growing and highly competitive electric vehicle industry. This article will discuss why NIO is winning against some stiff competition, including against Tesla (TSLA).
\n
In addition, we will discuss NIO's business, financials, trading, valuation, and risks so readers could reach their own informed decision.
\n
Business: Why NIO Wins
\n
NIO positions itself in the premium SUV segment, focusing on smart EVs with a differentiated battery strategy.
\n
Delivered in March 2019, the company's first model, the ES8, is a luxury 7-seater SUV that is still the company's flagship product today.
(NYSE:NIO) stands out for its strong market position- #1 market share in electric SUV in China- and innovation in the rapidly growing and highly competitive electric vehicle industry. This article will discuss why NIO is winning against some stiff competition, including against Tesla (TSLA).\nIn addition, we will discuss NIO's business, financials, trading, valuation, and risks so readers could reach their own informed decision.\nBusiness: Why NIO Wins\nNIO positions itself in the premium SUV segment, focusing on smart EVs with a differentiated battery strategy.\nDelivered in March 2019, the company's first model, the ES8, is a luxury 7-seater SUV that is still the company's flagship product today. The ES8 is equipped with ADAS and AI system [NOMI] and is comparable to the BYD Song, Tesla Model X, the Audi Q7 45 e-Tron, etc.\nSource: Company\nLeveraging the installed base and customer goodwill due to the highly successful ES8, NIO successfully launched the ES6 and EC6.Recently, the company launched the ET7, its first sedan.\nToday, NIO is the top-selling brand in China's all-electric SUV market in April with a 23% market share, higher than Tesla's 17%, WM Motor and XPeng Motors'(NYSE:XPEV)7%, according to China Automotive Technology and Research Center data.\nOne of the biggest competitive differentiators is NIO'sbattery strategy, which all but eliminates range anxiety, one of the biggest barriers to mass EV adoption. Not only could NIO cars be charged at any charging station for EVs, but the company also built hundreds of battery swapping stations in key cities in China, with plans to expanding to Europe.\nNIO's battery swapping strategy also gives the company the ability to offer a battery-as-a-service [BaaS] solution, which reduces the upfrontcostof purchasing an NIO vehicle by ~$11,000. Since cost is another major barrier to mass EV adoption, NIO's battery strategy appears brilliant as it solves both the range and cost problems.\nSource: Company\nAnother differentiator is the NIO brand, which management created brilliantly by introducing the EP9 in 2016. Six EP9s have been sold to NIO investors for 2.5 million pounds, creating an aura of exclusivity and quality around the brand. Next, NIO targeted the mass-market luxury SUV segment with the ES8, firmly establishing the company as a luxury car OEM.\nSource: Company\nChinese companies must struggle against the common perception that they make low-quality products. This is the same perception issue that Japanese companies faced following their defeat after WW2. Japan solved this problem by moving up the value chain as their economy matured and creating high-quality brands such as Sony(NYSE:SONY). Today, Japan is known for its craftsmanship.\nChina is following the same trajectory, and NIO is one of the emerging brands destroying the perception that \"made in China\" equates to poor quality. I strongly believe that investors who stubbornly hold on to that old perception will miss out on investing in some of the greatest brands the world will ever see.\nBuying an NIO car means much more than just getting a vehicle; it means getting into an exclusive club of services and convenience. Benefits include access to hundreds of swapping stations, lifetime free roadside rescue (including charge vans), lifetime free cellular connectivity, lifetime free warranty, and excellent customer service. This is a powerful selling point for NIO, differentiating it from Tesla, which hasrecentlydeveloped a poor reputation on the customer service front in China.\nSource: Company\nThe company is pushing the envelope even further with NIO House, a literal clubhouse for customers, and NIO Life, which includes NIO branded lifestyle products. NIO's effort to build a lifestyle around its cars seems to be working. This is good news for investors because the only way to escape the competitive battlefield of automobile OEM is to sell services and lifestyles to customers. This is why Ferrari's (RACE) operating margin is well over 20%, while Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) are in the single digits.\nFinancials & Valuation\nNIO is in hyper-growth mode. In 2020, the company generated $2.5 billion in revenue, up 126% y/y. In 2021, the company is expected to grow 117% y/y to $5.4 billion.\nThe company is not yet profitable but is expected to be by 2022. Gross margin only turned positive in 2020 and is expected to be 19.3% in 2021. EBITDA is expected to be negative $258 million in 2021 and a positive $206 million in 2022. Free cash flow is expected to be negative $42 million in 2021 before turning to a positive $354 million in 2022.\nHowever, despite the cash burn expected in 2021, investors should feel at ease since the company exited 2020 with $5.9 billion of cash and cash equivalents. Including $600 million in short-term investments and subtracting ~$2.1 billion in debt and operating leases and the expected negative free cash flow in 2021, NIO should exit 2021 with over $4 billion in net cash and investments. That is plenty of buffers since NIO is expected to generate positive free cash flow in 2022.\nSince NIO is not yet profitable, we will look at the forward EV/Sales multiple as is typical for hyper-growth companies not yet generating a profit. This is a significant discount to TSLA's 10.2 times forward EV/Sales despite growing twice as fast (TSLA is expected to grow revenues by 57% in 2021 compared to NIO's 117%).\nRisks\nThere are many risks associated with owning NIO.\nAlthough its battery swapping strategy is highly differentiated and seems to be growing rapidly, the jury is still out on the ultimate market share of battery swapping or fast-charging infrastructure. If fast charging technology continues to advance significantly, it will likely erode a key advantage of battery swapping: speed.\nNIO's business model is innovative and new. Unfortunately, the flip side of that is that it is untested, and NIO remains unprofitable. For many investors, NIO will remain a \"show me\" story until the profitability of its business model improves.\nNIO's ability to expand globally may be limited by the rising geopolitical tension between China and the US, and to a lesser extent, with Japan and Europe. The geopolitical situation remains highly opaque and uncertain, and is a risk factor for all auto OEMs.\nAuto OEMs are currently facing a severe chip shortage. In addition, the chip density in automobiles is increasing, making the OEMs increasingly reliant on semiconductor suppliers and foundries.\nNIO's competitive advantages may not overcome the massive scale advantage of ICE OEMs and much bigger EV players like Tesla and China's BYD.\nTakeaway\nNIO's technical and business model innovations make it a highly differentiated company in the exciting and rapidly growing EV market. The company is winning, and its competitive moat is getting bigger as its ecosystem of vehicles and services grows. Relative to the industry leader, Tesla, NIO's stock price seems like a bargain given its faster growth rate and lower multiples.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":167,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":161022353,"gmtCreate":1623897296472,"gmtModify":1634026180984,"author":{"id":"3574902015347794","authorId":"3574902015347794","name":"junhong9788","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e8a1c754a393b8db54cd88b0bbf543","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574902015347794","authorIdStr":"3574902015347794"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"PLTR future 😬","listText":"PLTR future 😬","text":"PLTR future 😬","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/161022353","repostId":"2144797778","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":12,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":169444854,"gmtCreate":1623849268778,"gmtModify":1634027143637,"author":{"id":"3574902015347794","authorId":"3574902015347794","name":"junhong9788","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/15e8a1c754a393b8db54cd88b0bbf543","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574902015347794","authorIdStr":"3574902015347794"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Tesla!
