All three indexes breached key technical levels during the session.</p>\n<p>Late in the day, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control said the country had detected its first case of the Omicron variant, which had infected a person who came from South Africa, where the variant was initially discovered.</p>\n<p>Earlier on Wednesday, Federal Reserve ChairJerome Powellsaid policymakers needed to be ready to respond to the possibility inflation may not recede in the second half of next year as expected.</p>\n<p>Wall Street had already tumbled on Tuesday after Powell had surprised the market by signaling that the central bank would consider accelerating the withdrawal of its bond buying program at its December meeting amid a surge in inflation.</p>\n<p>\"The market's grappling with the twin concerns of the Omicron variant, which may or may not be able to evade the vaccine, and a more hawkish Powell than expected,\" said Chris Zaccarelli the chief investment officer at Independent Advisor Alliance in Charlotte, North Carolina.</p>\n<p>Wall Street had tumbled sharply on Friday when investors first heard of the Omicron variant with health officials saying they were unsure how transmissible or dangerous the variant is and how much protection existing vaccines provide.</p>\n<p>On Monday, the market rebounded sharply as investors looked for bargains after the sell-off, only to fall again on Tuesday following the Powell comments. [.N/C]</p>\n<p>\"We tried to buy the dip again (on Wednesday) but news that Omicron is here already has taken some of the wind out of the sails of the bulls,\" said Zaccarelli.</p>\n<p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 461.68 points, or 1.34%, to 34,022.04, the S&amp;P 500 lost 53.96 points, or 1.18%, to 4,513.04 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 283.64 points, or 1.83%, to 15,254.05.</p>\n<p>The Dow closed below its 200-day moving average for first time since July 13, 2020, while the S&amp;P finished below its 50-day moving average for first time since Oct. 13 and Nasdaq ended a session under its 50-day moving average for first time since Oct. 14.</p>\n<p>While all of the 11 major S&amp;P sectors were gaining into the early afternoon, all but one sector ended the day in the red. The communications services sector was the biggest loser with a 1.99% drop and consumer discretionary was not far behind with a 1.86% dip.</p>\n<p>The sole advancing sector was utilities, a more defensive sector which tends to draw interest when investors are fleeing from riskier bets. The bears will argue that the high price-to-sales (P/S) ratio will limit its upside, especially as rising interest rates and inflation make many high-growth tech stocks less attractive.</p>\n<p>But let's look beyond the near-term noise and see if Palantir can still generate big multibagger gains, or even become a trillion-dollar stock, over the next two decades.</p>\n<h2>How fast is Palantir growing?</h2>\n<p>Palantir expects to grow its revenue by at least 30% annually between fiscal 2021 and 2025. That forecast implies its revenue will rise from its target of $1.5 billion this year to at least $4.3 billion in 2025.</p>\n<p>The company expects that growth to be driven by its new and expanded contracts with government agencies, as well as the growth of its Foundry platform for large commercial customers. The accelerating growth of its commercial business over the past year, which notably outpaced the growth of its government business last quarter, supports that thesis.</p>\n<h2>Palantir's path toward a trillion-dollar market cap</h2>\n<p>Palantir hasn't provided any longer-term targets beyond 2025. But based on the growth trajectory of other big data companies like <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/CRM\">Salesforce</a> </b>(NYSE:CRM), its annual revenue increase could potentially decelerate and stabilize at about 20% over the following 10 years.</p>\n<p>If it hits its target for 2025, then continues to grow its revenue at an average rate of 20% over the following 10 years, it could generate nearly $27 billion in revenue in 2035.</p>\n<p>If Palantir's revenue growth then slows down to 15% per year, which would be more comparable to <b>Microsoft</b>'s (NASDAQ:MSFT) current rate, it could generate over $53 billion in revenue in 2040.</p>\n<p>Assuming the company is still valued at over 20 times sales, its market cap could surpass $1 trillion. But most tech giants that grow their revenue 15% to 25% annually aren't valued at more than 20 times sales.</p>\n<p>Microsoft, which is expected to generate 17% sales growth this year, trades at 13 times that estimate. Salesforce, which is expected to generate 24% sales growth this year, trades at just 11 times this year's sales.</p>\n<p>Therefore, Palantir's market cap could potentially hit $1 trillion by 2040, but it seems highly unlikely. Instead, it will likely be closer to $500 billion (which would still be a 12-bagger gain from its current valuation) if its stock is trading at a more reasonable P/S ratio of 10.</p>\n<h2>Look beyond the market caps</h2>\n<p>Instead of focusing on Palantir's path toward joining the 12-zero club, investors should focus on its ability to generate sustainable growth.</p>\n<p>The company has gained a firm foothold with the U.S. government, but it still faces competition from internally developed systems. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), for example, has been developing its own platform to replace Palantir's Falcon. If other agencies follow ICE's lead, the company's dream of becoming the \"default operating system for data across the U.S. government\" could abruptly end.</p>\n<p>Palantir is making solid progress in the commercial market, but its Foundry platform still faces plenty of indirect competitors like <b>C3.ai</b>, <b>Salesforce</b>'s Tableau, and Glue from <b>Amazon</b> Web Services.</p>\n<p>The company likely believes its reputation as a battle-hardened platform for the U.S. military and government agencies will attract more enterprise customers. But there's no guarantee that this appeal will last for decades or fend off newer, hungrier, and more disruptive players in the data-mining market.</p>\n<h2>Is Palantir's stock still worth buying?</h2>\n<p>I still believe Palantir's stock is a promising long-term investment on the secular growth of the data-mining and analytics market. However, there's a lot of growth already baked into the stock, and its high valuations could limit its near-term and long-term potential. The bulls claimed its data-mining platforms would continue to grow as it signed more government and enterprise contracts.\nThe bears pointed out that Palantir was too heavily dependent on government clients, its enterprise business faced too many competitors, it was deeply unprofitable, and its stock was too expensive.\nPalantir's stock price has experienced some wild swings over the past year, but it has still more than doubled since its first trade at $10 per share.\nToday, Palantir is valued at $41.3 billion, or 27 times this year's sales. The bears will argue that the high price-to-sales (P/S) ratio will limit its upside, especially as rising interest rates and inflation make many high-growth tech stocks less attractive.\nBut let's look beyond the near-term noise and see if Palantir can still generate big multibagger gains, or even become a trillion-dollar stock, over the next two decades.\nHow fast is Palantir growing?\nPalantir expects to grow its revenue by at least 30% annually between fiscal 2021 and 2025. That forecast implies its revenue will rise from its target of $1.5 billion this year to at least $4.3 billion in 2025.\nThe company expects that growth to be driven by its new and expanded contracts with government agencies, as well as the growth of its Foundry platform for large commercial customers. The accelerating growth of its commercial business over the past year, which notably outpaced the growth of its government business last quarter, supports that thesis.\nPalantir's path toward a trillion-dollar market cap\nPalantir hasn't provided any longer-term targets beyond 2025. But based on the growth trajectory of other big data companies like Salesforce (NYSE:CRM), its annual revenue increase could potentially decelerate and stabilize at about 20% over the following 10 years.\nIf it hits its target for 2025, then continues to grow its revenue at an average rate of 20% over the following 10 years, it could generate nearly $27 billion in revenue in 2035.\nIf Palantir's revenue growth then slows down to 15% per year, which would be more comparable to Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) current rate, it could generate over $53 billion in revenue in 2040.\nAssuming the company is still valued at over 20 times sales, its market cap could surpass $1 trillion. But most tech giants that grow their revenue 15% to 25% annually aren't valued at more than 20 times sales.\nMicrosoft, which is expected to generate 17% sales growth this year, trades at 13 times that estimate. Salesforce, which is expected to generate 24% sales growth this year, trades at just 11 times this year's sales.\nTherefore, Palantir's market cap could potentially hit $1 trillion by 2040, but it seems highly unlikely. Instead, it will likely be closer to $500 billion (which would still be a 12-bagger gain from its current valuation) if its stock is trading at a more reasonable P/S ratio of 10.\nLook beyond the market caps\nInstead of focusing on Palantir's path toward joining the 12-zero club, investors should focus on its ability to generate sustainable growth.\nThe company has gained a firm foothold with the U.S. government, but it still faces competition from internally developed systems. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), for example, has been developing its own platform to replace Palantir's Falcon. If other agencies follow ICE's lead, the company's dream of becoming the \"default operating system for data across the U.S. government\" could abruptly end.\nPalantir is making solid progress in the commercial market, but its Foundry platform still faces plenty of indirect competitors like C3.ai, Salesforce's Tableau, and Glue from Amazon Web Services.\nThe company likely believes its reputation as a battle-hardened platform for the U.S. military and government agencies will attract more enterprise customers. All three indexes breached key technical levels during the session.</p>\n<p>Late in the day, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control said the country had detected its first case of the Omicron variant, which had infected a person who came from South Africa, where the variant was initially discovered.</p>\n<p>Earlier on Wednesday, Federal Reserve ChairJerome Powellsaid policymakers needed to be ready to respond to the possibility inflation may not recede in the second half of next year as expected.</p>\n<p>Wall Street had already tumbled on Tuesday after Powell had surprised the market by signaling that the central bank would consider accelerating the withdrawal of its bond buying program at its December meeting amid a surge in inflation.</p>\n<p>\"The market's grappling with the twin concerns of the Omicron variant, which may or may not be able to evade the vaccine, and a more hawkish Powell than expected,\" said Chris Zaccarelli the chief investment officer at Independent Advisor Alliance in Charlotte, North Carolina.</p>\n<p>Wall Street had tumbled sharply on Friday when investors first heard of the Omicron variant with health officials saying they were unsure how transmissible or dangerous the variant is and how much protection existing vaccines provide.</p>\n<p>On Monday, the market rebounded sharply as investors looked for bargains after the sell-off, only to fall again on Tuesday following the Powell comments. [.N/C]</p>\n<p>\"We tried to buy the dip again (on Wednesday) but news that Omicron is here already has taken some of the wind out of the sails of the bulls,\" said Zaccarelli.</p>\n<p>The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 461.68 points, or 1.34%, to 34,022.04, the S&amp;P 500 lost 53.96 points, or 1.18%, to 4,513.04 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 283.64 points, or 1.83%, to 15,254.05.</p>\n<p>The Dow closed below its 200-day moving average for first time since July 13, 2020, while the S&amp;P finished below its 50-day moving average for first time since Oct. 13 and Nasdaq ended a session under its 50-day moving average for first time since Oct. 14.</p>\n<p>While all of the 11 major S&amp;P sectors were gaining into the early afternoon, all but one sector ended the day in the red. The communications services sector was the biggest loser with a 1.99% drop and consumer discretionary was not far behind with a 1.86% dip.</p>\n<p>The sole advancing sector was utilities, a more defensive sector which tends to draw interest when investors are fleeing from riskier bets. The next best performers on the day were also defensive sectors with the healthcare ending down 0.2% and consumer staples falling 0.4%.</p>\n<p>The CBOE market volatility index, often referred to as Wall Street's fear gauge, closed up 14.5 points at 31.12 after earlier rising to 32.61, its highest level since February.</p>\n<p>The economically sensitive Russell 2000 index of small cap companies did an almost complete about-face, closing down 2.3% after rising as much as 2.5% at its late morning peak.</p>\n<p>The World Health Organization said it expected to have more information on the transmissibility of the Omicron variant within days, and that the agency believes the existing COVID-19 vaccines will work against the variant.</p>\n<p>Lauren Goodwin, economist and portfolio strategist at New York Life Investments, said it was not surprising to see volatility as investors digest uncertainties including the lack of information on Omicron and the latest signals from the Fed.</p>\n<p>However Goodwin also pointed at Wednesday's positive economic data, which was \"reminding investors that the economic and corporate backdrop for this market is really strong.\"</p>\n<p>U.S. manufacturing activity picked up in November amid strong demand for goods.</p>\n<p>Salesforce.com Inc forecast current-quarter profit below estimates as it faces stiff competition from rivals including Microsoft, sending its shares down 11.7%.</p>\n<p>Declining issues outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by a 2.26-to-1 ratio; That forecast implies its revenue will rise from its target of $1.5 billion this year to at least $4.3 billion in 2025.</p>\n<p>The company expects that growth to be driven by its new and expanded contracts with government agencies, as well as the growth of its Foundry platform for large commercial customers. The accelerating growth of its commercial business over the past year, which notably outpaced the growth of its government business last quarter, supports that thesis.</p>\n<h2>Palantir's path toward a trillion-dollar market cap</h2>\n<p>Palantir hasn't provided any longer-term targets beyond 2025. But based on the growth trajectory of other big data companies like <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/CRM\">Salesforce</a> </b>(NYSE:CRM), its annual revenue increase could potentially decelerate and stabilize at about 20% over the following 10 years.</p>\n<p>If it hits its target for 2025, then continues to grow its revenue at an average rate of 20% over the following 10 years, it could generate nearly $27 billion in revenue in 2035.</p>\n<p>If Palantir's revenue growth then slows down to 15% per year, which would be more comparable to <b>Microsoft</b>'s (NASDAQ:MSFT) current rate, it could generate over $53 billion in revenue in 2040.</p>\n<p>Assuming the company is still valued at over 20 times sales, its market cap could surpass $1 trillion. But most tech giants that grow their revenue 15% to 25% annually aren't valued at more than 20 times sales.</p>\n<p>Microsoft, which is expected to generate 17% sales growth this year, trades at 13 times that estimate. Salesforce, which is expected to generate 24% sales growth this year, trades at just 11 times this year's sales.</p>\n<p>Therefore, Palantir's market cap could potentially hit $1 trillion by 2040, but it seems highly unlikely. Instead, it will likely be closer to $500 billion (which would still be a 12-bagger gain from its current valuation) if its stock is trading at a more reasonable P/S ratio of 10.</p>\n<h2>Look beyond the market caps</h2>\n<p>Instead of focusing on Palantir's path toward joining the 12-zero club, investors should focus on its ability to generate sustainable growth.</p>\n<p>The company has gained a firm foothold with the U.S. government, but it still faces competition from internally developed systems. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), for example, has been developing its own platform to replace Palantir's Falcon. If other agencies follow ICE's lead, the company's dream of becoming the \"default operating system for data across the U.S. government\" could abruptly end.</p>\n<p>Palantir is making solid progress in the commercial market, but its Foundry platform still faces plenty of indirect competitors like <b>C3.ai</b>, <b>Salesforce</b>'s Tableau, and Glue from <b>Amazon</b> Web Services.</p>\n<p>The company likely believes its reputation as a battle-hardened platform for the U.S. military and government agencies will attract more enterprise customers. But there's no guarantee that this appeal will last for decades or fend off newer, hungrier, and more disruptive players in the data-mining market.</p>\n<h2>Is Palantir's stock still worth buying?</h2>\n<p>I still believe Palantir's stock is a promising long-term investment on the secular growth of the data-mining and analytics market. However, there's a lot of growth already baked into the stock, and its high valuations could limit its near-term and long-term potential. The bears will argue that the high price-to-sales (P/S) ratio will limit its upside, especially as rising interest rates and inflation make many high-growth tech stocks less attractive.\nBut let's look beyond the near-term noise and see if Palantir can still generate big multibagger gains, or even become a trillion-dollar stock, over the next two decades.\nHow fast is Palantir growing?\nPalantir expects to grow its revenue by at least 30% annually between fiscal 2021 and 2025. That forecast implies its revenue will rise from its target of $1.5 billion this year to at least $4.3 billion in 2025.\nThe company expects that growth to be driven by its new and expanded contracts with government agencies, as well as the growth of its Foundry platform for large commercial customers. The accelerating growth of its commercial business over the past year, which notably outpaced the growth of its government business last quarter, supports that thesis.\nPalantir's path toward a trillion-dollar market cap\nPalantir hasn't provided any longer-term targets beyond 2025. But based on the growth trajectory of other big data companies like Salesforce (NYSE:CRM), its annual revenue increase could potentially decelerate and stabilize at about 20% over the following 10 years.\nIf it hits its target for 2025, then continues to grow its revenue at an average rate of 20% over the following 10 years, it could generate nearly $27 billion in revenue in 2035.\nIf Palantir's revenue growth then slows down to 15% per year, which would be more comparable to Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) current rate, it could generate over $53 billion in revenue in 2040.\nAssuming the company is still valued at over 20 times sales, its market cap could surpass $1 trillion. But most tech giants that grow their revenue 15% to 25% annually aren't valued at more than 20 times sales.\nMicrosoft, which is expected to generate 17% sales growth this year, trades at 13 times that estimate. Salesforce, which is expected to generate 24% sales growth this year, trades at just 11 times this year's sales.\nTherefore, Palantir's market cap could potentially hit $1 trillion by 2040, but it seems highly unlikely. Instead, it will likely be closer to $500 billion (which would still be a 12-bagger gain from its current valuation) if its stock is trading at a more reasonable P/S ratio of 10.\nLook beyond the market caps\nInstead of focusing on Palantir's path toward joining the 12-zero club, investors should focus on its ability to generate sustainable growth.\nThe company has gained a firm foothold with the U.S. government, but it still faces competition from internally developed systems. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), for example, has been developing its own platform to replace Palantir's Falcon. If other agencies follow ICE's lead, the company's dream of becoming the \"default operating system for data across the U.S. government\" could abruptly end.\nPalantir is making solid progress in the commercial market, but its Foundry platform still faces plenty of indirect competitors like C3.ai, Salesforce's Tableau, and Glue from Amazon Web Services.\nThe company likely believes its reputation as a battle-hardened platform for the U.S. military and government agencies will attract more enterprise customers. But there's no guarantee that this appeal will last for decades or fend off newer, hungrier, and more disruptive players in the data-mining market.\nIs Palantir's stock still worth buying?\nI still believe Palantir's stock is a promising long-term investment on the secular growth of the data-mining and analytics market. However, there's a lot of growth already baked into the stock, and its high valuations could limit its near-term and long-term potential. Nvidia</h2>\n<p>Nvidia has been a stock market darling in 2021 thanks to the booming demand for its graphics cards, which are used across a wide variety of applications such as personal computers (PCs), data centers, automotive, and other markets. The terrific graphics card demand has translated into outstanding growth at Nvidia. The company's fiscal 2022 third-quarter revenue was up 50% year over year to $7.1 billion, while diluted earnings per share shot up 60% to $1.17.</p>\n<p>The gaming and data center businesses that produced 86% of the company's total revenue last quarter grew 42% and 55%, respectively, year-over-year, and they are unlikely to slow down any time soon. Nvidia controls 83% of the discrete graphics card market, and it was the only GPU (graphics processing unit) supplier to have increased shipments in the third quarter, according to Jon Peddie Research.</p>\n<p>The chipmaker has been able to increase the supply of its graphics cards to meet the robust end-market demand. Nvidia's strong grip over this space is great news, as the GPU market's revenue is expected to jump to $44 billion by 2023, setting the stage for further growth in the gaming business. Meanwhile, the growing deployment of hyperscale data centers and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) applications are turning out to be tailwinds for Nvidia.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/7d37411519d470ff3c53a15776d3013c\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"466\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Image source: Getty Images</span></p>\n<p>The hyperscale data center market is expected to grow at nearly 27% a year through 2025, according&nbsp;to market research provider TechNavio. The demand for data center accelerators, on the other hand, is reportedly increasing at an annual pace of nearly&nbsp;37%. With Nvidia holding&nbsp;80% of the cloud and data center accelerator market as per Omdia's estimates, its data center business looks set for impressive growth.</p>\n<p>What's more, emerging applications such as the metaverse have given Nvidia bulls more reasons to cheer in recent weeks, as they could add to the already-solid catalysts the company is sitting on. In all, it isn't surprising to see why analysts are expecting&nbsp;Nvidia to deliver annual earnings growth of almost 40% for the next five years, which could help it remain a top growth stock for years to come.</p>\n<h2>2. Synaptics</h2>\n<p>Synaptics is winning big from the growing demand for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The company got 55% of its total revenue&nbsp;from IoT products in the first quarter of fiscal 2022, recording 70% year-over-year revenue growth in this segment.</p>\n<p>The impressive growth of the IoT business led to a 13% year-over-year increase in Synaptics' quarterly revenue to $372.7 million. More importantly, Synaptics' guidance indicates that its streak of strong growth is here to stay. The company expects $405 million in revenue this quarter and earnings of $3.05 per share, which means that its top and bottom lines could jump&nbsp;13% and 32%, respectively, over the year-ago period.</p>\n<p>The IoT business is expected to produce 58% of Synaptics' total revenue this quarter, indicating that the segment's influence on the company's top line is increasing. Looking ahead, the IoT business could keep getting better, as Synaptics is witnessing strong demand for its wireless chips, which are finding use in several applications ranging from handheld scanners to fitness equipment.</p>\n<p>Synaptics CEO Michael Hurlston pointed out on the November earnings conference call that \"our wireless products are seeing increased design win traction across a long tail of customers and applications, giving us confidence in believing we will achieve our target of doubling revenues again over the next 18 months.\"</p>\n<p>A third-party estimate points out that the cellular IoT market could clock 25.7% annual growth through 2027 as the need for chips and modules to connect different things increases. As a result, the demand for Synaptics' wireless chips powered by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth should continue to increase in the long run.</p>\n<p>With Synaptics trading at 25 times forward earnings, compared to the <b>NASDAQ-100</b> index's&nbsp; forward earnings multiple of 30, and its earnings expected&nbsp;to grow at 15% a year for the next five years, it looks like a solid pick for investors looking to get into an IoT stock right now.</p>\n<h2>3. Applied Materials</h2>\n<p>The world is facing a semiconductor shortage, and Applied Materials is <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> of those companies helping to alleviate the lack of chips that has hamstrung several industries, ranging from smartphones to automotive to computers. The demand for Applied Materials' semiconductor manufacturing equipment has jumped impressively over the past year and a half, translating into strong top- and bottom-line growth.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f1826ce98a3d4b3ecadb34a8856d173a\" tg-width=\"720\" tg-height=\"449\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>AMAT Revenue (TTM) data by YCharts</span></p>\n<p>Applied Materials' revenue in the recently concluded fiscal 2021 (ending on Oct. 31, 2021) increased 34% over the prior year to $23 billion, while adjusted earnings shot up 64% year-over-year to $6.84 per share. The company can sustain such impressive growth in the new fiscal year thanks to the terrific growth in its orders.</p>\n<p>The orders in Applied Materials' semiconductor systems business, which produced 70% of its revenue last year, increased 78% in fiscal 2021. What's more, the company closed the year with momentum on its side, as semiconductor systems orders shot up 136% year-over-year in Q4. It is also worth noting that Applied Materials expects its order book to grow at a faster pace in the first half of fiscal 2022 as compared to the second half of fiscal 2021.</p>\n<p>Applied Materials CFO Bob Halliday's comments on the November earnings call indicate just why the company sees an acceleration in its order book:</p>\n<blockquote>\n Industrywide, we are tracking 59 fab projects with available and announced expansion capacity of 3.5 million wafer starts. Nvidia\nNvidia has been a stock market darling in 2021 thanks to the booming demand for its graphics cards, which are used across a wide variety of applications such as personal computers (PCs), data centers, automotive, and other markets. The company expects $405 million in revenue this quarter and earnings of $3.05 per share, which means that its top and bottom lines could jump 13% and 32%, respectively, over the year-ago period.\nThe IoT business is expected to produce 58% of Synaptics' total revenue this quarter, indicating that the segment's influence on the company's top line is increasing. Looking ahead, the IoT business could keep getting better, as Synaptics is witnessing strong demand for its wireless chips, which are finding use in several applications ranging from handheld scanners to fitness equipment.\nSynaptics CEO Michael Hurlston pointed out on the November earnings conference call that \"our wireless products are seeing increased design win traction across a long tail of customers and applications, giving us confidence in believing we will achieve our target of doubling revenues again over the next 18 months.\"\nA third-party estimate points out that the cellular IoT market could clock 25.7% annual growth through 2027 as the need for chips and modules to connect different things increases. The demand for Applied Materials' semiconductor manufacturing equipment has jumped impressively over the past year and a half, translating into strong top- and bottom-line growth.\nAMAT Revenue (TTM) data by YCharts\nApplied Materials' revenue in the recently concluded fiscal 2021 (ending on Oct. 31, 2021) increased 34% over the prior year to $23 billion, while adjusted earnings shot up 64% year-over-year to $6.84 per share. The company can sustain such impressive growth in the new fiscal year thanks to the terrific growth in its orders.\nThe orders in Applied Materials' semiconductor systems business, which produced 70% of its revenue last year, increased 78% in fiscal 2021. What's more, the company closed the year with momentum on its side, as semiconductor systems orders shot up 136% year-over-year in Q4.
