Some lenders in Shanghai have set a timetable for a gradual reduction in joint offerings, while at least one in Shandong has completely suspended ties with the firm, the people said.
\n
The moves have taken place in parallel with Ant’s discussions with Chinese authorities on a restructuring plan. Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Ant has agreed to become a financial holding company, making it subject to capital requirements similar to those for banks.
\n
Consumer credit has been crucial in driving growth at Ant’s digital finance business, which contributed 63% of the firm’s revenue in the first half of 2020 before the authorities unleashed a barrage of rules to curb the country’s booming financial technology industry. Regulators also want to prevent any one firm from becoming too dominant.
\n
The regulators upended a $35 billion initial public offering by Ant Group in November, stunning investors from Shanghai to New York. In a conference call with investors on Tuesday, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Daniel Zhang said there is “substantial uncertainty” with Ant’s business and it is difficult to assess the impact of the new regulations. Alibaba owns a third of Ant and both were founded by billionaire Jack Ma.
\n
Ant declined to comment. The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission didn’t immediately respond to a request seeking comment.
\n
Among the hardest-hitting for Ant was the proposal to impose additional capital requirements on microlenders and demand that fintech platforms put up at least 30% of the funding for loans that are jointly offered with banks. Some lenders in Shanghai have set a timetable for a gradual reduction in joint offerings, while at least one in Shandong has completely suspended ties with the firm, the people said.\nThe moves have taken place in parallel with Ant’s discussions with Chinese authorities on a restructuring plan. Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Ant has agreed to become a financial holding company, making it subject to capital requirements similar to those for banks.\nConsumer credit has been crucial in driving growth at Ant’s digital finance business, which contributed 63% of the firm’s revenue in the first half of 2020 before the authorities unleashed a barrage of rules to curb the country’s booming financial technology industry. Regulators also want to prevent any one firm from becoming too dominant.\nThe regulators upended a $35 billion initial public offering by Ant Group in November, stunning investors from Shanghai to New York. In a conference call with investors on Tuesday, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Daniel Zhang said there is “substantial uncertainty” with Ant’s business and it is difficult to assess the impact of the new regulations. Alibaba owns a third of Ant and both were founded by billionaire Jack Ma.\nAnt declined to comment. The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission didn’t immediately respond to a request seeking comment.\nAmong the hardest-hitting for Ant was the proposal to impose additional capital requirements on microlenders and demand that fintech platforms put up at least 30% of the funding for loans that are jointly offered with banks. Before the proposal, only about 2% of the more than 1.7 trillion yuan ($263 billion) in loans remained on Ant’s balance sheet, with the bulk of funding coming from its about 100 bank partners.\nAnt needs to inject at least 70 billion yuan of new capital just for its credit-lending business to comply with the regulation, according to a November estimate by Francis Chan, a senior analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence in Hong Kong.\nLiang Tao, vice chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, said last month recent measures weren’t aimed at any specific company and have been well received by some in the industry. Small silver miners, which had leapt, also retraced some of their gains.\n“It is slowing down a bit,” said Gregor Gregersen, founder of Silver Bullion, a dealer in Singapore, after a wild 24 hours where he said sales exceeded average monthly levels from 2018 and orders above S$35,000 ($26,300) arrived every three minutes.\nReddit moderators had on Tuesday removed one of the most popular posts suggesting buying silver and many WallStreetBets posts focused on riding out the volatility.\n“WHO IS HOLDING GME WITH ME?” read one top post. “I’M HOLDING EVEN IF MY PORTFOLIO GOES DOWN TO ZERO,” read another.\n($1 = 0.8280 euros)\n($1 = 1.3108 Australian dollars)","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":75,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":315194692,"gmtCreate":1612216426016,"gmtModify":1703758898659,"author":{"id":"3573810478609459","authorId":"3573810478609459","name":"WayneOnn","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9a85861de8e5f206df55b678715a3977","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573810478609459","authorIdStr":"3573810478609459"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Come on everybody hold the line","listText":"Come on everybody hold the line","text":"Come on everybody hold the line","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/315194692","repostId":"1150739186","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150739186","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1612172682,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1150739186?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-02-01 17:44","market":"us","language":"en","title":"The market frenzy for stocks like Gamestop is not purely driven by retail investors","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150739186","media":"cnbc","summary":"KEY POINTS\n\nThe recent market frenzy in stocks such as Gamestop was unlikely to have been purely dri","content":"
\n
KEY POINTS\n\nThe recent market frenzy in stocks such as Gamestop was unlikely to have been purely driven by retail investors, argues INSEAD's Bart Zhou Yueshen.\nInvestors have been piling into stocks ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","source":"cnbc_highlight","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Investors were piling into stocks with a large percent of their shares sold \"short\" and creating \"short squeezes,\" or driving traders on the other side of the bet to buy more stock to cover their losses.\nShort selling is a strategy in which investors borrow shares of a stock at a certain price in expectations that the market value will fall below that level when it's time to pay for the borrowed shares.\n\"It is also very difficult to believe that in this short squeeze, the buy side is completely driven by the retail and there is no institutions jumping in,\" he added: \"Institutions are not dumb right? They look at these short-squeeze opportunities, they can definitely go in there.\"\nRetail traders have been largely credited with spawning these rallies, especially investors in the WallStreetBets community on Reddit. The market upheaval has generally been viewed through apopulist lens, pitting Wall Street professionals against amateur tradersarmed with zero-commission trading apps like Robinhood.\nChallenge for regulators\nAs individual investors expressed enthusiasm over GameStop, AMC and other stocks on Reddit, questions began to surface about whether this trading activity amounted to market manipulation.\nZhou said while regulators \"can definitely try to step in,\" it's not clear whether they will find evidence of market manipulation.\n\"In order to establish manipulation, you would need to establish some kind of malintention in the first place,\" the professor said. \"That is, in my opinion, not so obvious in this case.\"\nHe explained the chatter on platforms such as Reddit can be characterized as investors simply \"expressing their opinions\" over stocks they wish to buy and sell.\n\"The hedge funds can do the same,\" Zhou said. \"Nothing ... in this regard is particularly concerning.\"\nThe burden of proof now falls upon regulators to establish \"hard evidence\" of wrong doing, a task that Zhou admitted was \"quite difficult to establish.\"\nFor its part, the Securities and Exchange Commission said it willreview the recent trading volatility, saying: \"We will act to protect retail investors when the facts demonstrate abusive or manipulative trading activity that is prohibited by the federal securities laws.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":296,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":315195533,"gmtCreate":1612216281122,"gmtModify":1703758897967,"author":{"id":"3573810478609459","authorId":"3573810478609459","name":"WayneOnn","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9a85861de8e5f206df55b678715a3977","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573810478609459","authorIdStr":"3573810478609459"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Looking good","listText":"Looking good","text":"Looking good","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/f59fff9c70582a87e228e192afe879d5","width":"750","height":"2356"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/315195533","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":287,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":315195836,"gmtCreate":1612216237225,"gmtModify":1703758897448,"author":{"id":"3573810478609459","authorId":"3573810478609459","name":"WayneOnn","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9a85861de8e5f206df55b678715a3977","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573810478609459","authorIdStr":"3573810478609459"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$BlackBerry(BB)$Hold the line!","listText":"$BlackBerry(BB)$Hold the line!","text":"$BlackBerry(BB)$Hold the line!","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/eaed053512c2c65bdf30f9a8ec792617","width":"828","height":"1434"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/315195836","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":471,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":312608303,"gmtCreate":1612129551502,"gmtModify":1703757805468,"author":{"id":"3573810478609459","authorId":"3573810478609459","name":"WayneOnn","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9a85861de8e5f206df55b678715a3977","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573810478609459","authorIdStr":"3573810478609459"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hmmm ","listText":"Hmmm ","text":"Hmmm","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/312608303","repostId":"2106780283","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2106780283","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1611730617,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2106780283?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-01-27 14:56","market":"sh","language":"en","title":"ByteDance says cutting India workforce, unsure of comeback","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2106780283","media":"Reuters","summary":"NEW DELHI, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Nothing to do but hold now,” wrote one user, who said he had bought in to GameStop shares at $370. GameStop last traded in Frankfurt at 80.80 euros ($97.05) and AMC at 7.40 euros. U.S. premarket trading begins at 0900 GMT.\nFee-free online broker Robinhood, which has been at the centre of the phenomenon, has further relaxed trading restrictions on the hottest retail-trader stocks before U.S. markets open on Thursday.\nTraders can now buy as many as 500 GameStop shares, up from a limit of 100. Investors were piling into stocks with a large percent of their shares sold \"short\" and creating \"short squeezes,\" or driving traders on the other side of the bet to buy more stock to cover their losses.\nShort selling is a strategy in which investors borrow shares of a stock at a certain price in expectations that the market value will fall below that level when it's time to pay for the borrowed shares.\n\"It is also very difficult to believe that in this short squeeze, the buy side is completely driven by the retail and there is no institutions jumping in,\" he added: \"Institutions are not dumb right? \"Nothing ... in this regard is particularly concerning.\"\nThe burden of proof now falls upon regulators to establish \"hard evidence\" of wrong doing, a task that Zhou admitted was \"quite difficult to establish.\"\nFor its part, the Securities and Exchange Commission said it willreview the recent trading volatility, saying: \"We will act to protect retail investors when the facts demonstrate abusive or manipulative trading activity that is prohibited by the federal securities laws.\"","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":296,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":312601770,"gmtCreate":1612129390490,"gmtModify":1703757805296,"author":{"id":"3573810478609459","authorId":"3573810478609459","name":"WayneOnn","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9a85861de8e5f206df55b678715a3977","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573810478609459","authorIdStr":"3573810478609459"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Huat","listText":"Huat","text":"Huat","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/312601770","repostId":"1131015158","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":98,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":312136294,"gmtCreate":1612061862718,"gmtModify":1703757573836,"author":{"id":"3573810478609459","authorId":"3573810478609459","name":"WayneOnn","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9a85861de8e5f206df55b678715a3977","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3573810478609459","authorIdStr":"3573810478609459"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wowwwe","listText":"Wowwwe","text":"Wowwwe","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/312136294","repostId":"2107829287","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2107829287","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1611887400,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2107829287?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-01-29 10:30","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Southeastern Grocers Postpones Initial Public Offering","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2107829287","media":"StreetInsider","summary":"Southeastern Grocers, Inc. (“fuboTV”) (NYSE: FUBO), the leading sports-first live TV str","content":"
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--fuboTV Inc. (“fuboTV”) (NYSE: FUBO), the leading sports-first live TV streaming platform, today announced the pricing of $350 million aggregate principal amount of 3.25% convertible senior notes due 2026 (the “notes”) in a private offering to persons reasonably believed to be qualified institutional buyers pursuant to Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the “Securities Act”). The offering is expected to close on February 2, 2021, subject to customary closing conditions. fuboTV also granted the initial purchaser a 13-day option to purchase up to an additional $52.5 million aggregate principal amount of notes.
\n
The notes will be general unsecured obligations of fuboTV and will accrue interest payable semiannually in arrears on February 15 and August 15 of each year, beginning on August 15, 2021, at a rate of 3.25% per year. The notes will mature on February 15, 2026, unless earlier converted, repurchased or redeemed. The initial conversion rate will be 17.3063 shares of fuboTV’s common stock per $1,000 principal amount of notes (equivalent to an initial conversion price of approximately $57.78 per share). The initial conversion price of the notes represents a premium of approximately 45% over the closing price of fuboTV’s common stock on January 28, 2021. The notes will be convertible under certain circumstances into cash, shares of fuboTV’s common stock or a combination of cash and shares of fuboTV’s common stock, at fuboTV’s election.
\n
fuboTV may redeem for cash all or any portion of the notes, at its option, on or after February 20, 2024 and prior to the 41st scheduled trading day immediately preceding the maturity date if the last reported sale price of fuboTV’s common stock has been at least 130% of the conversion price then in effect for at least 20 trading days (whether or not consecutive) during any 30 consecutive trading day period (including the last trading day of such period) ending on, and including, the trading day immediately preceding the date on which fuboTV provides notice of redemption at a redemption price equal to 100% of the principal amount of the notes to be redeemed, plus accrued and unpaid interest to, but excluding, the redemption date.
\n
fuboTV estimates that the net proceeds from the offering will be $338.4 million (or $389.5 million if the initial purchaser exercises its option to purchase additional notes). fuboTV intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including working capital, business development, sales and marketing activities, capital expenditures, repayment of outstanding debt, potential acquisitions and strategic transactions. If the initial purchaser exercises its option to purchase additional notes, fuboTV will use the net proceeds from the sale of such additional notes for working capital and other general corporate purposes as described above. However, it has not designated any specific uses and has no current agreements with respect to any material acquisition or strategic transaction.
\n
Neither the notes, nor any shares of fuboTV’s common stock issuable upon conversion of the notes, have been registered under the Securities Act or any state securities laws, and unless so registered, may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from, or in a transaction not subject to, the registration requirements of the Securities Act and other applicable securities laws.
\n
This press release is neither an offer to sell nor a solicitation of an offer to buy any securities, nor shall it constitute an offer, solicitation or sale of the securities in any jurisdiction in which such offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to the registration or qualification under the securities laws of any such jurisdiction.
","source":"highlight_streetinsider","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
fuboTV Announces Pricing of $350 Million Convertible Senior Notes Offering
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nfuboTV Announces Pricing of $350 Million Convertible Senior Notes Offering\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-01-29 14:35 GMT+8 StreetInsider\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--fuboTV Inc.
