The stock market did not take the news too well and the drop in price of crude oil was a clear sentiment about how this can affect the spending. With concerns, countries imposing lockdowns & limiting air travels, there have spooked the market, causing what is typically known as a "black swan event".

6. Demystifying Options Part 6

If you have tried selling or buying options, you might encounter some common issues:

Issue 1: Unable to find any buyer or seller willing to take up your option contract, so your transaction is pending for a long time.

Issue 2: As a seller, your option mostly ended up ITM and getting exercised.

Issue 3: As a buyer, your option mostly ended up OTM or ATM, and expiring worthless.

7. Option Strategy – Straddle or Short-Straddle?

In the Short-Straddle Strategy, you will at least gain from 1 of the option, since either the call or the put option will go expire, with the other option being exercised. In a fortunate situation in which the final stock price falls in between the Call and Put Option strike price, both options will expire and you gain from the fees from selling them.

10. Options Amidst the Omicron Variant Uncertainty

Despite FED’s indication of speeding up the tapering process in December, it is already a “known fact” to many that tapering may come sooner than expected given the high inflation rates. There wouldn’t be another taper tantrum since FED has done a good job informing everyone about the issue.
