Even the June quarter could see them in the mid 40 million range.

He says this is the greatest demand trajectory in years, possibly going as far back as 2014 when the iPhone 6 was released. Even the June quarter could see them in the mid 40 million range. He says this is the greatest demand trajectory in years, possibly going as far back as 2014 when the iPhone 6 was released. As a result, Ives is keeping his outperform rating on the stock and a $175 per share price target. Factoring in Friday's closing price at a penny under $120, this would mean Apple has 46% upside still possible. There might be good reason for such bullishness. While he has maintained his bullish rating on the shares intact, he upped the ante and set a Street-high price target of $175 apiece this week – for upside of over 40% from current levels.
\n
Today, the Apple Maven looks closer into why the analyst believes Apple is such a strong buy today. I then add the perspective of another bullish expert, who believes Apple’s market value is heading to $3 trillion in the foreseeable future.
\n
Not all about the iPhone
\n
Apple has been most closely associated with iPhones in the past decade and a half. But this analyst supports his bullish thesis on factors that do not always make the headlines: services and wearables.
\n
Here is what Evercore currently sees:
\n
\n “A clear path to $100 billion in services revenue by fiscal 2025 and $70 billion for wearables. The growth should help drive margin expansion and help smooth out the cyclical nature of the hardware business.”\n
\n
Should the research shop be right about the services opportunity, Apple would effectively double segment revenues in five years, as it did between 2016 and 2020. I recently argued that the feat could be achieved, especially with the introduction of new service offerings (that are either too nascent or have yet to caught on, such as Fitness+ and Arcade+) and the launch of the Apple One bundle.
\n
On the wearables side, growing to $70 billion by 2025 would mean more than doubling fiscal 2020 revenues of $31 billion. There are a couple of ways that Apple could reach this goal, and the company would probably need to execute on all fronts at the same time to be successful:
\n
\n
Grow market penetration in smartwatches;
\n
Widen the product portfolio in earphones and home devices;
\n
Introduce category-defining products, such as mixed reality headsets.
\n
\n
Wrapping up the bull case, Evercore mentions two other factors. First, share buybacks could accelerate, as Apple tries to put its cash pile to use in a low-interest environment. Second, the research company sees valuation multiples staying higher for longer, as Apple earns a consumer goods premium.
\n
The usual suspects: 5G super cycle, Apple Car
\n
On the path to $175 per share, Evercore did not forget to mention some of the trendier, high-flying growth opportunities – among them, the Apple Car. But when it comes to seeing the longer-term trends, Wedbush’s Dan Ives is probably the analyst that relies on them the most to support his own $175 price target (or $225, under his best-case scenario).
\n
According to Wedbush, the “super cycle party” should continue with the launch of the iPhone 13, later in 2021. The analyst believes that roughly 40% of the global iPhone installed base is due for an upgrade.
\n
On the electric vehicle front, the opportunity could reach $5 trillion over the next decade. Don't be fooled by its gargantuan $2.1 trillion market capitalization. This dominant tech company's stock still has room to run.
\n
Impressive growth
\n
Apple's most recent quarterly results highlight the company's broad-based strength -- and whyinvestorsshould have the tech stock on their radar. In fiscal Q1 (the three-month period ending Dec. 26, 2020), Apple saw double-digit year-over-year growth rates in every product category. In addition, Apple achieved record revenue in every one of its geographic segments.
\n
In total, revenue for the period was $111.4 billion, up 21% year over year. Earnings per share jumped 35% year over year to $1.68.
\n
Meanwhile, the company has garnered a massive base of active users across its devices. In the company's fiscal first-quarter earnings call, management said it now boasts over 1.65 billion active devices. \"We hit a new high watermark for our installed base of active devices, with growth accelerating,\" management said.
\n
Monetization of this lucrative user base can be seen in Apple's services segment, which generated $53.8 billion in revenue in fiscal 2020 -- up 16% year over year. This segment importantly garners an impressive gross profit margin of 68%.
\n
Apple stock is worth its premium valuation
\n
Of course, with many tech stocks coming down in recent weeks compared to levels seen earlier this year, some investors may be nervous about taking a stake in Apple. They may be wondering if this is just another overvalued tech stock. After all, the company's price-to-earnings ratio of 34 doesn't exactly sound like a bargain.
\n
However, Apple has strong competitive advantages, putting it in a position to continue growing its active installed base in the coming years. After years of delivering quality hardware, software, and services to its customers, the company has earned strong brand power and customer loyalty. This, in turn, has led to impressive pricing power. The company's iPhone, iPad, Macs, and AirPods, for instance, all sell for prices much higher than the average prices of smartphones, tablets, computers, and headphones from many of its competitors.
\n
Further, Apple has shown no signs of losing its pricing power. Indeed, the prices of its most expensive iPhones have steadily risen in recent years. For instance, the company recently released a pair of $549 headphones -- and demand has exceeded supply.
\n
With shares down 15% from an all-time high earlier this year, now's a good time for investors to consider taking a stake in this top-notch tech stock. The tricky part is finding those potentially life-changing investments early on.
\n
Fortunately, companies that achieve great success tend to havecertain traits in common. For instance, they are often first movers in emerging industries. That could mean developing a new product or tackling an old problem with a novel solution.
\n
Enterprises likeLemonade(NYSE:LMND)andArista Networks(NYSE:ANET)check that box. Here's why investing in these two tech companies could make you rich.
\n
1. Lemonade: AI-powered insurance
\n
Lemonade is atech companythat sells insurance. Though its initial focus was on renters and homeowners policies, it entered the pet insurance andterm life insurancemarkets in 2020, and it plans to expand its portfolio again in 2021.
\n
Lemonade's digital approach to insurance differs dramatically from its rivals. While traditional insurers have agents who sell policies and handle claims, Lemonade automates these processes with AI-powered chatbots. In fact, the company uses artificial intelligence to improve virtually every aspect of its business: Marketing, underwriting, fraud detection, and the customer experience.
\n
So far, the results are encouraging. Lemonade's loss ratio dropped to 71% in 2020, meaning the company paid out $0.71 in claims for every $1 in earned premiums. That's a big improvement from its 161% loss ratio in 2017. More importantly, it puts Lemonade roughly in line with the top 20 property and casualty (P&C) insurance companies, which have an average loss ratio of roughly 72% in recent years.
\n
Likewise, Lemonade's sales and marketing expenses actually decreased 9% in 2020, but its customer base grew 56% and its premium per customer grew 20% during the same time period. In other words, Lemonade's AI-powered marketing is becoming more efficient.
\n
Moreover, the addition of new customers (and the rising premium per customer) have powered impressive growth in gross profit.
\n
But Lemonade has one more trick up its sleeve. The company also purchases reinsurance (insurance for insurance companies) to make its business less volatile. While this strategy cuts into Lemonade's top line, it also stabilizes its gross margin -- in fact, management estimates that Lemonade's gross margin will vary by no more than 3% in 95 out of every 100 years. That type of consistency is impressive in an industry that can literally depend on the weather.
\n
Investors should be aware that Lemonade is much smaller than market-leading rivals likeBerkshire Hathaway's group of insurance brands andAllstate. The tricky part is finding those potentially life-changing investments early on.\nFortunately, companies that achieve great success tend to havecertain traits in common. For instance, they are often first movers in emerging industries. That could mean developing a new product or tackling an old problem with a novel solution.\nEnterprises likeLemonade(NYSE:LMND)andArista Networks(NYSE:ANET)check that box. Here's why investing in these two tech companies could make you rich.\n1. Lemonade: AI-powered insurance\nLemonade is atech companythat sells insurance. Though its initial focus was on renters and homeowners policies, it entered the pet insurance andterm life insurancemarkets in 2020, and it plans to expand its portfolio again in 2021.\nLemonade's digital approach to insurance differs dramatically from its rivals. While traditional insurers have agents who sell policies and handle claims, Lemonade automates these processes with AI-powered chatbots. In fact, the company uses artificial intelligence to improve virtually every aspect of its business: Marketing, underwriting, fraud detection, and the customer experience.\nSo far, the results are encouraging. Lemonade's loss ratio dropped to 71% in 2020, meaning the company paid out $0.71 in claims for every $1 in earned premiums. That's a big improvement from its 161% loss ratio in 2017. More importantly, it puts Lemonade roughly in line with the top 20 property and casualty (P&C) insurance companies, which have an average loss ratio of roughly 72% in recent years.\nLikewise, Lemonade's sales and marketing expenses actually decreased 9% in 2020, but its customer base grew 56% and its premium per customer grew 20% during the same time period. In other words, Lemonade's AI-powered marketing is becoming more efficient.\nMoreover, the addition of new customers (and the rising premium per customer) have powered impressive growth in gross profit.\nBut Lemonade has one more trick up its sleeve. That type of consistency is impressive in an industry that can literally depend on the weather.\nInvestors should be aware that Lemonade is much smaller than market-leading rivals likeBerkshire Hathaway's group of insurance brands andAllstate. But the insurance industry is enormous, generating over $5 trillion in annual premiums worldwide. That means Lemonade has a massive opportunity, and capturing even a few percentage points of that market would translate into tens of billions of dollars on the top line. Moreover, the company's AI-powered business should give it a long-term advantage over its rivals.\n2. As part of the agreement, Ocugen gains rights to co-develop and commercialize Bharat's vaccine candidate in the United States. As a result, Ocugen shares have soared more than 400% since the start of the year. A recent report from Bharat's phase 3 trial in India showed the candidate -- Covaxin -- was 81% effective. The stock soared -- and now it's up about 290% year to date.
\n
In a recent update, Gritstone said it aims to generate phase 1 data by the middle of this year. Here's what makes this vaccine candidate stand out: It targets the coronavirus spike protein and other parts of the coronavirus antigen. That means it may have a good chance of working even if the spike protein mutates. And that could result in stronger protection against new strains of concern. Today's vaccines focus on the spike protein.
\n
If Gritstone's candidate is successful, it would be useful to protect against future pandemics -- so it represents opportunity down the road. The company also has eight other infectious disease and oncology candidates in the pipeline -- including three in phase 2. And Gritstone recently announced a collaboration with Gilead Sciences to develop a vaccine-based cure for HIV.
\n
Gritstone may become a 10-bagger this year if its coronavirus vaccine candidate produces strong trial results. If it doesn't, the shares will surely drop. But here's some good news: In either case, Gritstone's other pipeline candidates might have what it takes to make this biotech stock a 10-bagger in the long term.
\n
\n
Zomedica
\n
Now, let's turn to veterinary diagnostics. And that product is Truforma, a detection system for thyroid and adrenal disease in dogs and cats.
\n
The company will sell the toaster-size device along with three assays to veterinarians in a limited geographic area at first. Then it will expand the number of tests and its geographic presence later this year. Zomedica faces competition from bigger companies such as IDEXX Laboratories. But demand means there likely is room for Zomedica to take a comfortable spot in the market. The companion animal diagnostics market is expected to reach $3 billion by 2025, according to a Markets and Markets report.
\n
The main question now is: Will Zomedica win over veterinarians? So far, investors are optimistic. The stock has jumped more than 800% year to date. If the launch goes well, this stock probably will become a 10-bagger pretty quickly. The companion animal diagnostics market is expected to reach $3 billion by 2025, according to a Markets and Markets report.\nThe main question now is: Will Zomedica win over veterinarians? So far, investors are optimistic. The stock has jumped more than 800% year to date. If the launch goes well, this stock probably will become a 10-bagger pretty quickly. But for lasting gains, Zomedica will have to prove that it can deliver sustained sales growth. And that may take years. For cautious investors, it's a good idea to take a look at initial sales trends before leaping into this animal health stock right now.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":247,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":322676847,"gmtCreate":1615806507589,"gmtModify":1703493254197,"author":{"id":"3573635438482611","authorId":"3573635438482611","name":"muhdfaris","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/37ae4076e821106cdd5b32cc88b92836","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3573635438482611","idStr":"3573635438482611"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"watch out","listText":"watch out","text":"watch out","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/322676847","repostId":"1187214170","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1187214170","pubTimestamp":1615798793,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1187214170?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-15 16:59","market":"us","language":"en","title":"5 Stocks To Watch For March 15, 2021","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1187214170","media":"Benzinga","summary":"United States Steel Corporation issued profit forecast for the first quarter. It's added $1 billion in high-interest debt to its balance sheet with total corporate borrowings now clocking in at $5.7 billion, but there's a bigger concern for investors here, and its already bloated debt burden helps explain it.
\n
\n
Massive share dilution
\n
AMC finished 2019 with 103 million shares. By the end of the third quarter, that share count had only increased modestly to an average of 107.7 million, but it then began to explode.
\n
In September, the company announced an at-the-market equity offering program, essentially allowing it to dilute shareholders by selling new stock when it saw the need to do so. Since then, the company has filed to sell 300 million new shares and added 44.4 million in new shares from a debt conversion.
\n
On the earnings call, CFO Sean Goodman set the record straight, saying that the company had issued 278 million shares through the at-the-market offering. As of March 3, AMC had 450.2 million shares outstanding.
\n
In other words, if you're an AMC shareholder who held from the beginning of 2020 until today, your stake in the company is just 22% of what it was a year ago, as is your share of the company's potential earnings.
\n
AMC's management deserves some credit for raising the cash necessary to keep the business afloat. But shareholders are now in a terrible position, as it's essentially impossible for the company to generate enough profits to offset that dilution, especially as it's paying about $300 million in annual interest expense.
\n
Part of the reason the company had to dilute shareholders rather than raising new debt, which is generally considered to be cheaper than equity, is because it was so highly leveraged coming into the pandemic, and recent debt raises came with 15% interest rates attached.
\n
Management acknowledged as much on the call as Goodman said, \"We will continue to actively explore alternatives to raise additional capital and reduce our leverage.\" That means shareholders should expect the dilution to continue as the company seeks to pay down its borrowings and convert debt to equity.
\n
The pent-up demand question
\n
If there's a bull case for AMC, it's that pent-up demand will drive a surge in profitability once the pandemic ends. On the call, CEO Adam Aron cited a survey of its Stubs members, who reported that going to the movies was the activity they missed the most. However, that's from a group of confirmed movie-lovers willing to pay for a subscription to see as many flicks at AMC as they want.
\n
The level of demand from the broader public is less clear. While audiences will certainly return to theaters, the case for pent-up demand in the industry seems to be less convincing than in other hard-hit sectors like travel and restaurants, which are inherently social and experiential, making them unsafe during COVID-19.
\n
Movies, on the other hand, have a convenient substitute in at-home entertainment, and streaming options have both proliferated and thrived during the pandemic. Studios have gotten comfortable putting new releases directly on their streaming services, effectively eliminating exhibitors like AMC.
\n
While AMC's revenue may return to pre-pandemic levels, whether it will exceed that is still uncertain, especially given the company's financial challenges and the changes in the market.
\n
Still a sell
\n
Despite an awful year for the business, AMC shares are actually up more than 40% from the start of 2020, primarily because of attention from Reddit traders.
\n
Given the extreme and still-ongoing share dilution, heavy debt burden and interest payments, and the fundamental power shift in the entertainment industry away from movie theaters, the company's future still looks bleak. dilution is even worse than it looked.","content":"
AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) has made it through the darkest days of the pandemic, and it will come out on the other side.
\n
The company reaffirmed that in its fourth-quarter earnings report, saying that it was reopening theaters in major markets like New York and Los Angeles, even as it is burning around $100 million in cash every month.
\n
Optimism about the reopening later this year along with a likely boost from Reddit traders was enough to lift the stock after its earnings report as shares traded up as much as 10% on Thursday morning.
\n
However, the results shed new light on the company's troubled financial situation coming out of the pandemic, as it's been forced to raise billions of dollars during the crisis to stay alive.
