It&nbsp;went public in 2012&nbsp;and changed its name from Berry Plastics in 2017. Its shares have lagged behind the broader market in the past few years and closed Friday at $66.47.</p>\n<p>Ancora said in the letter it believes Berry could be bought for $100 a share.</p>\n<p>Ancora also urged the company to consider other actions including increasing share buybacks by $1 billion and using sale-leasebacks for its real estate. Ancora said it is prepared to call a special meeting to try to replace directors if needed.</p>\n<p>Berry last week said it would buy back $50 million of its shares as part of a previously authorized repurchase program that will have $350 million left on it. Ancora called the latest move “an insult to investors.”</p>\n<p>Another Berry shareholder, Canyon Capital Advisors LLC, called for the company to explore a sale in early 2020. Canyon owns a roughly 2% stake, according to FactSet.</p>\n<p>Cleveland, Ohio-based Ancora was founded in 2003.
