Now, I'm not saying that the stock is necessarily undervalued today; but I can't shake an appreciation for the profitability of the business itself. Loss-making companies are always racing against time to reach financial sustainability, but time is often a friend of the profitable company, especially if it is growing. \n Check out our latest analysis for Air Products and Chemicals \n How Fast Is Air Products and Chemicals Growing? \n If you believe that markets are even vaguely efficient, then over the long term you'd expect a company's share price to follow its earnings per share (EPS). Because oftentimes, the purchase of stock is a sign that the buyer views it as undervalued. However, insiders are sometimes wrong, and we don't know the exact thinking behind their acquisitions. \n The good news for Air Products and Chemicals shareholders is that no insiders reported selling shares in the last year. So it's definitely nice that Independent Director Edward Monser bought US$48k worth of shares at an average price of around US$238. \n Along with the insider buying, another encouraging sign for Air Products and Chemicals is that insiders, as a group, have a considerable shareholding.
