the biggest penalties imposed on a U.S. tech giant in Europe.
\n
Amazon said it \"strongly disagreed\" with the Italian regulator's decision and would appeal.
\n
Global regulatory scrutiny of tech giants has been increasing after a string of scandals over privacy and misinformation, as well as complaints from some businesses that they abuse their market power.
\n
As well as Amazon, Alphabet's Google, Facebook Inc, Apple Inc and Microsoft Corp have drawn heightened scrutiny in Europe.
\n
Italy's watchdog said in a statement that Amazon had leveraged its dominant position in the Italian market for intermediation services on marketplaces to favour the adoption of its own logistics service - Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) - by sellers active on Amazon.it.
\n
The authority said Amazon tied to the use of FBA access to a set of exclusive benefits, including the Prime label, that help increase visibility and boost sales on Amazon.it.
\n
\"Amazon prevents third-party sellers from associating the Prime label with offers not managed with FBA,\" it said.
\n
The Prime label makes it easier to sell to the more than 7 million most loyal and high-spending consumers members of Amazon’s loyalty program.
\n
The antitrust authority also said it would impose corrective steps that will be subject to review by a monitoring trustee.
\n
Amazon said FBA \"is a completely optional service\" and that the majority of third-party sellers on Amazon do not use it.
\n
\"When sellers choose FBA, they do so because it is efficient, convenient and competitive in The target presents an 18% increase from Apple’s (ticker: AAPL) $161.84 closing price on Friday. The stock was up 1.2% to $163.73 in premarket trading Monday.
\n
Of the 42 analysts covering the stock surveyed by FactSet, 32 have it at a Buy or Overweight rating, nine rated it at Hold, and one rated it Underweight.
\n
“While AAPL is expensive by historical valuations, we find AAPL attractive relative to other mega-caps,” Nispel wrote on Monday.
\n
The analyst outlined three main reasons for his bullish take. Nispel doesn’t believe iPhone unit sales have peaked, with the 5G upgrade cycle potentially pushing Apple past its current peak; he believes the company has managed to increase its product breadth to reduce reliability on iPhone sales; and he foresees services to grow at rates multiple times faster than user growth.
\n
The analyst forecasts Apple to have 1.09 billion active iPhones and 1.8 billion active installed devices by the end of the first quarter of the 2022 fiscal year. This presents a 7% and 8% year-over-year increase, respectively.
\n
“This shows a healthy growing user base where Apple iPhone market share is low relative to key geographies outside the United States,” Nispel wrote. “As the installed base grows, a larger base can support more sales on lower upgrade rates.”
\n
Apple’s international segment is likely to grow faster in the coming years as other countries adapt to 5G, prompting a wave of upgrades to compatible hardware, Nispel wrote. He estimates every 1% increase in 5G upgrade rates could drive an incremental 11 million iPhone unit sales.
\n
As hardware adoption grows, so does Apple’s services business. The segment, which includes services such as Apple TV+, Music, News+, AppleCare, Advertising, and Cloud, has grown 27% in the 2021 fiscal year. The target presents an 18% increase from Apple’s (ticker: AAPL) $161.84 closing price on Friday. The stock was up 1.2% to $163.73 in premarket trading Monday.\nOf the 42 analysts covering the stock surveyed by FactSet, 32 have it at a Buy or Overweight rating, nine rated it at Hold, and one rated it Underweight.\n“While AAPL is expensive by historical valuations, we find AAPL attractive relative to other mega-caps,” Nispel wrote on Monday.\nThe analyst outlined three main reasons for his bullish take. Nispel doesn’t believe iPhone unit sales have peaked, with the 5G upgrade cycle potentially pushing Apple past its current peak; he believes the company has managed to increase its product breadth to reduce reliability on iPhone sales; and he foresees services to grow at rates multiple times faster than user growth.\nThe analyst forecasts Apple to have 1.09 billion active iPhones and 1.8 billion active installed devices by the end of the first quarter of the 2022 fiscal year. This presents a 7% and 8% year-over-year increase, respectively.\n“This shows a healthy growing user base where Apple iPhone market share is low relative to key geographies outside the United States,” Nispel wrote. “As the installed base grows, a larger base can support more sales on lower upgrade rates.”\nApple’s international segment is likely to grow faster in the coming years as other countries adapt to 5G, prompting a wave of upgrades to compatible hardware, Nispel wrote. He estimates every 1% increase in 5G upgrade rates could drive an incremental 11 million iPhone unit sales.\nAs hardware adoption grows, so does Apple’s services business. The segment, which includes services such as Apple TV+, Music, News+, AppleCare, Advertising, and Cloud, has grown 27% in the 2021 fiscal year. Over time, it could become a key profitability driver, growing to more than $100 billion by 2024, Nispel said.\nNispel recognized that Apple’s App Store legal battles were concerning, but were “likely more a bend, not break outcome.” The company has had to make modest changes to its App Store guidance in response to court rulings and regulatory changes, including lowering its commission for some developers. It will likely make more concessions over time, such as allowing developers to provide third-party payment options, Nispel said.\n“We expect regulation to take time to implement, and believe Apple’s competitive advantage is unlikely to be substantially harmed,” he added.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":971,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":608950296,"gmtCreate":1638602654856,"gmtModify":1638602654913,"author":{"id":"4098524475474940","authorId":"4098524475474940","name":"AnthonyFoo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/35478c05f1aca1611dc6bce1780bc4aa","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4098524475474940","authorIdStr":"4098524475474940"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Why????","listText":"Why????","text":"Why????","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/608950296","repostId":"1140678193","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":802,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":608927499,"gmtCreate":1638602542266,"gmtModify":1638602542616,"author":{"id":"4098524475474940","authorId":"4098524475474940","name":"AnthonyFoo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/35478c05f1aca1611dc6bce1780bc4aa","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"4098524475474940","authorIdStr":"4098524475474940"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"It's a lose-lose situation if happen. Retirement","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2186432895","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"A little money can go a long way.","content":"
Thanks to the wonders of compound interest, it doesn't take a lot of money to grow a million-dollar nest egg. For example, investing $300 a month could grow into more than $1 million in 30 years if it can generate a 12% annual return. That's slightly better than the average stock market return over the last 50 years of nearly 11%.
\n
Many companies have a long history of beating the market. Three companies that appear likely to continue doing so in the decades ahead are Brookfield Renewable , Crown Castle International , and NextEra Energy . Because of that, $100 invested in each one every month could grow into a $1 million nest egg by retirement.
\n
Benefiting from a powerful megatrend
\n
Brookfield Renewable has enriched its investors over the years. Since its inception, the renewable energy producer has generated an annualized total return of 19%. The company had done that by investing billions of dollars into expanding its renewable energy portfolio. That has powered more than 10% annual growth in its cash flow per share, supporting 6% annual dividend increases over the last decade.
\n
However, Brookfield's best days appear to lie ahead. The global economy needs to invest trillions of dollars to decarbonize the energy sector over the next 30 years. That should enable Brookfield to continue to invest in expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
\n
The company currently has 36 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects in development. That's bigger than the company's current operating portfolio of about 21 GW. Combined with rising power rates, and its growing scale, these projects should support up to 11% annual cash flow per share growth through at least 2026.
\n
Meanwhile, Brookfield sees up to another 9% yearly boost from future acquisitions. Add that growing renewable-powered cash flow stream to the company's 3%-yielding dividend, and Brookfield appears to have the power to produce double-digit annual returns for decades to come.
\n
Connected to the data supercycle
\n
Crown Castle has been an exceptional value creator over the years. The infrastructure-focused real estate investment trust (REIT) has delivered a more than 13% annual total return over the two-plus decades since its initial public offering.
\n
A major driver of those returns has been the billions of dollars the company has poured into expanding its communications infrastructure portfolio. Over the last decade alone, the REIT spent $31 billion on acquisitions and capital expenditures (capex), powering 9% annual dividend growth since 2014.
\n
The company still sees significant investment opportunities ahead. Crown Castle noted that the telecom industry's rollout of 5G networks represents a decade-long investment cycle. Meanwhile, some see a 100-year data infrastructure upgrade investment opportunity to support the digital economy. Because of that, Crown Castle has a lot of growth ahead of it, which should drive continued strong returns.
\n
Crown Castle expects to grow its 3.2%-yielding dividend at a 7% to 8% annual rate in the near term. That suggests the company could deliver double-digit total returns in the coming years.
\n
Plugged into several growth catalysts
\n
NextEra Energy has also created an enormous amount of wealth for its investors over the years. The utility has generated a roughly 700% total return over the last decade alone, crushing the 276% total return produced by the S&P 500. Powering the company's robust results has been its ability to deliver above-average earnings and dividend growth. It has increased its earnings per share at an 8.7% compound annual rate since 2005, supporting 9.6% compound annual dividend growth.
\n
A major catalyst has been the company's leadership in renewable energy. It has grown into one of the world's largest wind and solar energy producers.
\n
That leadership should continue since it has one of the world's biggest backlogs of wind and solar energy development projects. In addition to tried-and-true technologies like wind and solar, NextEra is a leader in emerging technologies, including battery storage and green hydrogen. Meanwhile, it's tapping into other sources of growth like water infrastructure. Because of that, NextEra should have plenty of power to continue growing its earnings and dividend in the decades ahead.
\n
Grow rich slowly
\n
Compound interest can do wonders for your retirement. Steadily investing a few hundred dollars each month into high-performing stocks can create an enormous amount of wealth. One of the keys to finding stocks that can deliver decades of strong returns is focusing on those benefiting from megatrends. For example, investing $300 a month could grow into more than $1 million in 30 years if it can generate a 12% annual return. That's slightly better than the average stock market return over the last 50 years of nearly 11%. \nMany companies have a long history of beating the market. Three companies that appear likely to continue doing so in the decades ahead are Brookfield Renewable , Crown Castle International , and NextEra Energy . Because of that, $100 invested in each one every month could grow into a $1 million nest egg by retirement.\nBenefiting from a powerful megatrend\nBrookfield Renewable has enriched its investors over the years. Since its inception, the renewable energy producer has generated an annualized total return of 19%. The company had done that by investing billions of dollars into expanding its renewable energy portfolio. That has powered more than 10% annual growth in its cash flow per share, supporting 6% annual dividend increases over the last decade. \nHowever, Brookfield's best days appear to lie ahead. The global economy needs to invest trillions of dollars to decarbonize the energy sector over the next 30 years.
The underperformance of its American depositary receipts—U.S.-listed securities—could be ending.
\n
Citigroup analyst Jeff Chung wrote Tuesday that recent weakness in NIO (ticker: NIO) ADRs was related to the company selling shares. Those sales are done and he sees positive catalysts for the stock coming in 2022.
\n
He rates NIO ADRs at Buy and has an $87 price target, more than 100% higher than recent levels.
\n
NIO (ticker: NIO) ADRs rose 7% Monday, closing at $41.49. Monday’s rise was related to a late Friday news release in which NIO said it had finished selling about 53 million ADRs raising about $2 billion in cash.
\n
Since that sale was announced in early September, NIO ADRs slipped about 5% until the capital raise finally finished.XPeng (XPEV) ADRs rose about 12% over the same span.Li Auto (LI) ADRs dipped a little, falling about 1%, but Tesla (TSLA) stock roared ahead, rising more than 50% over the comparable span.
\n
NIO was the worst performer of that group, but the ADRs are making up for some of the underperformance again on Tuesday. NIO ADRs are up another 3.8% in early Tuesday trading. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average are both up about 0.2%.
\n
The removal of the sale is one positive factor for the NIO. Looking ahead, Chung sees November vehicle deliveries, an analyst event on Dec. 18, and pricing details for the company’s new ET5 sedan helping to lift the ADRs.
\n
The ET5 should compete with the likes of a Tesla Model 3.
\n
Chung is a NIO bull, and his price target is the highest on the Street, according to Bloomberg. His peers on Wall Street also love NIO. About 84% of analysts covering the company rate NIO at Buy. The average Buy-rating ratio for stocks in the S&P 500 is about 55%.
\n
The average analyst price target stands at about $60, about two-thirds of Chung’s price target, but it still implies about 44% gains from recent levels.
\n
Coming into Tuesday trading, NIO ADRs are down about 15% year to date, which has helped them grow into their valuation. At the end of 2020, ADRs traded for about 14 times estimated next year’s sales. The underperformance of its American depositary receipts—U.S.-listed securities—could be ending.\nCitigroup analyst Jeff Chung wrote Tuesday that recent weakness in NIO (ticker: NIO) ADRs was related to the company selling shares. Those sales are done and he sees positive catalysts for the stock coming in 2022.\nHe rates NIO ADRs at Buy and has an $87 price target, more than 100% higher than recent levels.\nNIO (ticker: NIO) ADRs rose 7% Monday, closing at $41.49. Monday’s rise was related to a late Friday news release in which NIO said it had finished selling about 53 million ADRs raising about $2 billion in cash.\nSince that sale was announced in early September, NIO ADRs slipped about 5% until the capital raise finally finished.XPeng (XPEV) ADRs rose about 12% over the same span.Li Auto (LI) ADRs dipped a little, falling about 1%, but Tesla (TSLA) stock roared ahead, rising more than 50% over the comparable span.\nNIO was the worst performer of that group, but the ADRs are making up for some of the underperformance again on Tuesday. NIO ADRs are up another 3.8% in early Tuesday trading. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average are both up about 0.2%.\nThe removal of the sale is one positive factor for the NIO. Looking ahead, Chung sees November vehicle deliveries, an analyst event on Dec. 18, and pricing details for the company’s new ET5 sedan helping to lift the ADRs.\nThe ET5 should compete with the likes of a Tesla Model 3.\nChung is a NIO bull, and his price target is the highest on the Street, according to Bloomberg. His peers on Wall Street also love NIO. About 84% of analysts covering the company rate NIO at Buy. The average Buy-rating ratio for stocks in the S&P 500 is about 55%.\nThe average analyst price target stands at about $60, about two-thirds of Chung’s price target, but it still implies about 44% gains from recent levels.\nComing into Tuesday trading, NIO ADRs are down about 15% year to date, which has helped them grow into their valuation. At the end of 2020, ADRs traded for about 14 times estimated next year’s sales. Shares are now trading for about 7.5 times estimated next year’s—or 2022, in this case—sales.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":128,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":608927499,"gmtCreate":1638602542266,"gmtModify":1638602542616,"author":{"id":"4098524475474940","authorId":"4098524475474940","name":"AnthonyFoo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/35478c05f1aca1611dc6bce1780bc4aa","crmLevel":3,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"4098524475474940","idStr":"4098524475474940"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"It's a lose-lose situation if happen.
