So I decided that there must be some value proposition here. After a throughout look, I came to the same conclusion as Warren Buffet. Apple stock is an excellent buy.</p>\n<p>Apple's potential on a global scale has not been adequately factored into the share price.</p>\n<p><b>Current Valuation</b></p>\n<p>To understand if something is undervalued, we first need to understand its current valuation. It is also trading at a lower PE ratio than the Nasdaq index (29.25).</p>\n<p>This establishes that Apple is not being valued at a premium to reflect the massive opportunity they have with international expansion.</p>\n<p><b>Apple In The US</b></p>\n<p>If you are like me and from America, it may seem like everyone that wants an iPhone has one. There is a good chance you are even reading this article on Apple's signature OLED screen.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/9e50a9091d291ea4b8efb3d37d00ad68\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"357\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Source: Statista</span></p>\n<p>Apple's market share in the US has been growing by low single-digit percentages since 2015 and currently has a US market share of just under 50% in 2021.</p>\n<p>I see no real reason that this will change significantly. Like I mentioned above, most people that want an iPhone already own one. When dealing with such a high market share, it is hard to grow, at least substantially.</p>\n<p>While I will not discuss this point in-depth, it is worth noting that in 2020, only about&nbsp;50% of their revenue came from iPhone, and there is considerable room to grow in their accessories and wearables, even in the US.</p>\n<p><b>The International Market</b></p>\n<p>This is where I see a massive opportunity for Apple. Apple is also close to overtaking Samsung as the worldwide market share leader, and at current rates, it appears the overtake will happen sometime in the next twelve months.</p>\n<p>The upward trend is seen again in Europe. Here is AAPL's European market share over the past 5 years.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/581ba5b6950f54cb812ad7a9d0e4960e\" tg-width=\"640\" tg-height=\"450\" width=\"100%\" height=\"auto\"><span>Source: Statcounter</span></p>\n<p>In this case, Apple just recently took over Samsung as the leading European smartphone vendor. With a population of around&nbsp;741 million people, nearly&nbsp;2x the population of the United States, taking the majority share of the smartphone market in Europe is huge.</p>\n<p><b>What does that mean?</b></p>\n<p>This is just the beginning, at least from a sales standpoint. Despite controlling the majority share in one of the largest continents, Apple only generated about 1/4 of its total revenue from Europe.</p>\n<p>One of the things that makes Apple such a strong company is that their iPhones are essentially a \"gateway product.\" Once you have an iPhone, you are compelled to purchase AirPods and an Apple Watch as physical accessories. Apple also offers iCloud photo storage, Apple Music, Apple TV, and Apple Arcade, to name a few.</p>\n<p>The proliferation of the iPhone on a global scale opens the door for Apple with its massive product line. Investors should look behind the numbers and realize the true scope of the opportunity that lies within growing iPhone sales.</p>\n<p><b>Conclusion</b></p>\n<p>Apple's relative undervaluation compared to competitors, as well as massive strides in international markets, makes it an appealing investment. Since the pandemic, Apple no longer gives revenue guidance, but the bulk of the revenue shortfall came from iPhone sales, which came in $2.1 billion below analysts expectations. Sales of Macs and iPads, however, exceeded estimates.</p>\n<p>Apple’s Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri told analysts that the ongoing supply constraints hurt its revenue by around $6 billion, and that the impact will be larger in the December quarter. The products most effected were the iPhone, the iPad and the Mac, and the constraints were caused by both semiconductor shortages and manufacturing disruptions because of the COVID-19 pandemic.</p>\n<p>Amazon reported an even sharper-than-expected drop in earnings, with a huge surge in expenses, as it tried to shore up staff and dealt with unprecedented supply-chain issues. Amazon’s costs to fulfill and ship orders increased to $18.5 billion from $14.71 billion. Amazon reported third-quarter earnings per share of $6.12, a drop of nearly 50% from the year-ago and below analysts’ average expectations of $8.90 a share.</p>\n<p>These higher fulfillment and employee costs, like Apple’s supply-chain constraints, will continue in the fourth quarter, usually the biggest for consumer-related tech companies. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said in a statement that Amazon expects to incur “several billion dollars of additional costs” in its consumer business, as it deals with “labor supply shortages, increased wage costs, global supply-chain issues, and increased freight and shipping costs.”</p>\n<p>The shares of both tech mega stars — which both trade over $1 trillion in market cap — tumbled in after-hours trading, with Apple falling 3.53% while Amazon lost 4%.</p>\n<p>While neither company is seeing any loss of demand — in fact the opposite is occurring because they cannot keep up with demand amid the global shipping and product constraints — the news was a downer for investors counting on them to finish the year strongly. As consumer-focused companies could have a harder time meeting all the demand in the upcoming holiday season, corporate-focused tech giants — such as Microsoft — could be a safer play for now.</p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Microsoft topped $20 billion in net income for the first time, with PC revenue beating expectations and the company’s fast-growing cloud business still its biggest driver. Chief Executive Pat Gelsinger still hopes to win back Apple Inc. as a customer, but says Intel will have to outcompete the tech giant to do so.</p>\n<p>In an interview aired Sunday night on \"Axios on HBO,\" Gelsinger told Axios reporter Ina Fried that he doesn't blame Apple&nbsp;for dropping Intel&nbsp;and deciding to make its own chips.</p>\n<p>\"Apple decided they could do a better chip themselves than we could,\" he said. \"And, you know, they did a pretty good job. So what I have to do is create a better chip than they can do themselves. I would hope to win back this piece of their business, as well as many other pieces of business, over time.\"</p>\n<p>\"In the meantime, I've gotta make sure our products are better than theirs, that my ecosystem is more open -- and vibrant -- than theirs, and that we create a more compelling reason for developers and users to land on Intel-based products,\" Gelsinger said. \"So I'm gonna fight hard to win [Apple CEO Tim Cook's] business in this area.\"</p>\n<p>Intel had made chips for Apple's Macs since 2005, before Apple carried out a long-rumored switch last year to making its own custom chips.</p>\n<p>Gelsinger noted that a reunion with Apple could take years, and mentioned that another option would be for Apple to eventually use Intel's chip-manufacturing facilities. Intel already makes chips for Amazon.com Inc.&nbsp;and Qualcomm Inc., among others.</p>\n<p>Intel is scheduled to report quarterly earnings Thursday. Analysts expect nearly flat earnings and revenue compared with a year ago.
