Parts from the U.S. plant were previously not involved in the recall.\nThe automaker plans to replace the vehicle’s costly battery cell modules. GM also said it is working with LG to rectify the cause of the defects and increase production of the new modules.\n“Our focus on safety and doing the right thing for our customers guides every decision we make at GM,” Doug Parks, a GM executive vice president who oversees products, purchasing and supply chains, said in a release. “As leaders in the transition to an all-electric future, we know that building and maintaining trust is critical. GM customers can be confident in our commitment to taking the steps to ensure the safety of these vehicles.”\nThe expansion follows the companies finding that the batteries for these vehicles may have two manufacturing defects — a torn anode tab and folded separator — present in the same battery cell, which increases the risk of fire.\nGM has confirmed one fire in the new population of recalled vehicles. That’s in addition to at least nine previous confirmed fires in the first round of vehicles that were recalled.\nGM also said it will notify customers when replacement parts are ready.\nIn the meantime, GM is asking affected Bolt EV owners to set their vehicles to a 90% state of charge limitation using Hilltop Reserve mode (for 2017-2018 model years) or Target Charge Level (for 2019 model year) mode.\nGM also is asking owners to avoid depleting their battery below approximately 70 miles of remaining range and, as it advised last week, continue to not park their vehicles inside or charge them unattended overnight “out of an abundance of caution.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":476,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":808091996,"gmtCreate":1627540959015,"gmtModify":1633763969815,"author":{"id":"3587037754746901","authorId":"3587037754746901","name":"SharkRider","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de2adeb4ae77e489f87ea6b1daebff81","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Well, the two things in life that are certain are death and taxes... Each household can also receive only two distinct visitors per day. This does not apply to grandchildren who are being cared for daily by their grandparents.\nWork-from-home will remain the default at workplaces, and social gatherings at the workplace will not be allowed, said the Ministry of Health in a press release. Employers should continue to stagger the start times of employees who need to return to the workplace and implement flexible working hours.\nBoth indoor and outdoor dine-in F&B establishments, including hawker centres and food courts, will only be able to offer takeaway and delivery options during this period.\nStrenuous indoor exercise classes are also not allowed. Other activities that require masks to be off - including personalised services such as facials, saunas and make-up services, singing, and the playing of wind and brass instruments - are also banned.\nThese restrictions will not apply to medical and dental consultations, MOH said, but non-medical facial treatments will not be exempted from these restrictions.\nFor businesses that remain open during this period, their staff must continue with the regular 14-day fast and easy test requirement, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.\nSpeaking at a virtual press conference, Finance Minister and task force co-chair Lawrence Wong said the tighter restrictions will be reviewed in two weeks, and the task force will decide whether to update the measures based on the Covid-19 situation at that point time.\nTrade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong said the authorities have decided not to differentiate their measures for vaccinated people, given the \"heightened alert\".\n\"We will consider doing so once we have hit higher vaccination rates, or when the situation has stabilised,\" he said.\n\"I know today's announcement feels like a huge setback to many who have been observing the rules and doing whatever it takes to keep themselves and the larger population safe. We appreciate your efforts,\" Mr Gan said.\n\"Once we have slowed down the new clusters and hit higher vaccination rates, we will be able to continue with our reopening,\" he said.\nAs of July 19, 50 per cent of Singapore's population have completed their full vaccination regime, said Health Minister Ong Ye Kung. However, there remains 200,000 unvaccinated seniors over 60 years old, and they have a likelihood of falling critically ill once infected, he said.\nSingapore was on the verge of relaxing its Covid-19 restrictions, when a large cluster involving several KTV lounges emerged last week. The cases have since spread to Jurong Fishery Port, Singapore's main fishery port, as well as an increasing number of markets and food centres islandwide.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":291,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":179518459,"gmtCreate":1626562684671,"gmtModify":1633925935283,"author":{"id":"3587037754746901","authorId":"3587037754746901","name":"SharkRider","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de2adeb4ae77e489f87ea6b1daebff81","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Hopefully, the trend will return to slow steady growth - need to take a break... The world's leading subscription-based streaming service will announce its first-quarter results after having posted wildly different growth rates in the previous two reports.
\n
Netflix's late April earnings showed much slower user growth than management had forecast, which executives blamed on temporary challenges like a light content release schedule rather than rising competition from rivals like Disney (NYSE:DIS).
\n
That explanation raises the bar for Netflix to issue an optimistic forecast for the second half of 2021 in its announcement on July 20. Let's take a look at the key metrics to follow in that report.
\n
Meeting low expectations
\n
Growth expectations are low following last quarter's surprise slowdown. Netflix is aiming to add just 1 million global subscribers after gaining 4 million last quarter. The same factors that powered that weak Q1 result will affect Q2. Those include a return to more normal TV trends as people turned to other entertainment activities in the wake of the pandemic.
\n
The big growth question is whether Netflix is feeling heat from competition like Disney's expanding streaming service. Executives said in April that these threats weren't to blame for the slow start to the year, given that engagement remained strong with existing members and growth was sluggish across many markets rather than just in the ones with new competition. Tuesday's report will mark Netflix's opportunity to show that it is still the leader in the niche.
\n
Capital questions
\n
The improving cash flow picture has been a big factor behind Netflix's stock price surge, and that's likely to be another highlight of this report. Ironically, the worry is that the company can't spend cash quickly enough to keep the content pipeline fully stocked. Most TV and movie production paused early last year and has only now started back up. Management is hoping to spend as much as $17 billion on content this year while marking its first year of positive cash flow.
\n
NFLX Cash from Operations (TTM) data by YCharts
\n
Look for a new financial metric this quarter, too: stock buyback spending. Executives started that program in Q2 after the company found plenty of room to invest in the business while paying down its debt.
\n
The forecast for the second half
\n
Netflix has been telling investors that the business will resume its impressive growth rate in the second half of the year, mainly thanks to the flood of new releases that will hit its servers. Tuesday's report is management's opportunity to back up those claims with hard numbers.
\n
The company will issue a new subscriber outlook that should reflect its industry leadership position and its unusually high member loyalty. Anything less might be a reason for shareholders to worry. Meanwhile, Netflix's updated profit outlook should continue forecasting at least a 20% operating margin, assuming management is right about its ability to raise prices as user engagement rises.
\n
The forecast for the fall and winter months might seem weak compared to the blockbuster growth the service enjoyed in 2019 and 2020. But with global membership rising further above 200 million, it should also reinforce the idea that Netflix is still in the early days of improving on its current base of just 10% of total TV screen time in the U.S. market.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Netflix Earnings: What to Watch
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nNetflix Earnings: What to Watch\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-07-17 21:22 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) investors are bracing for a volatile trading week ahead. After all, they’ve worked hard to try to enjoy life as a senior and to not worry about their financial position. The best way to solve this problem is a well-rounded portfolio with the right balance of dividend, growth and value stocks. This article specifically focuses on the growth stocks to buy and how they can super-charge your retirement portfolio.
\n
Growth stocks typically belong to those companies that are growing at an above-average rate in their respective industries. Moreover, these companies are poised to expand over a long-term horizon thanks to their ability to innovate and reinvent themselves. Growth investors look at forward profitability and cash flow metrics when picking out the best growth stocks to buy.
\n
With that being said, this list below covers seven of the most promising growth stocks to buy, which will deliver returns across several markets.
\n
\n
Cloudflare(NYSE:NET)
\n
Shopify(NYSE:SHOP)
\n
Square(NYSE:SQ)
\n
Snap(NYSE:SNAP)
\n
Alibaba Group(NYSE:BABA)
\n
Etsy(NASDAQ:ETSY)
\n
Roku(NASDAQ:ROKU)
\n
\n
Cloudflare (NET)
\n
Cloudflare has arguably one of the most active companies in the past year, launching more than 550 new products. The cloud platform has been growing rapidly and has expanded its total addressable market to over $70 billion. Additionally, it plans to spread into other profitable areas apart from its traditional content delivery services. Moreover, NET stock’s 12-month returns are at a staggering 180%.
\n
Earnings in the past year have been nothing short of amazing, with double-digit growth in revenues for the past three quarters. Year-over-year revenue growth is at a healthy 51%, with forward estimates at 42%. As it looks to expand its product suite into large TAM areas such as cybersecurity and MPLS/SD-WAN, it will continue to post strong sales numbers for the foreseeable future.
\n
Shopify (SHOP)
\n
Shopify is a leading merchant platform that has consistently delivered for its long-term investors. With businesses having to close down during the pandemic, Shopify became a beacon of hope for small merchants starting their online businesses. As a result, its year-over-year revenue growth is dumbfounding 99.6%, which dwarfs its competition. Hence, with a wide moat and the ability to constantly evolve more than justifies SHOP stocks lofty valuation.
\n
2020 was another stellar year for the company, but it looks like it still has multiple chapters to write in its growth story. Its fulfillment center strategy is one of them, giving Amazon(NASDAQ:AMZN) a run for its money. Moreover, its Payments division and international markets are two major catalysts for future growth. The company expects to grow its revenues by $5 billion by 2023 and take a larger bite out of the e-commerce market.
\n
Square (SQ)
\n
Square has turned into a new-age financial services juggernaut. It has posted stellar growth rates, delivering monster quarterly results and outperforming its already high expectations. It continues to expand its distinct ecosystems, which includes its and Seller and Cash App. Both ecosystems exhibit a $160 billion addressable market opportunity collectively. Moreover, SQ stock has generated over 130% returns in the past 12-months.
\n
The Cash App platform has been a key driver of the company’s growth. Its monthly active users have grown by 50% to over 36 million in 2020. Through its Bitcoin(CCC:BTC-USD) functionalities and the impact of the Cash Card, it creates several monetization opportunities. Additionally, the re-opening of the U.S. and the worldwide economy will propel the stock further as more small and medium-sized enterprises regain their footing.
\n
Snap (SNAP)
\n
Social media giant Snap was in a tough spot a couple of years ago, as its user base stagnated considerably. However, it is now back in the game with improvements in monetization, augmented reality and unique content. Analysts point towards multiple years of double-digit revenue growth ahead, and its high long-term margin structure makes SNAP stock a highly attractive investment.
\n
Daily Active Users (DAUs) for the company increased on a year-over-year basisin each of the four quarters last year. The trend continued in the first quarter, where its DAUs grew by a healthy 22%. Moreover, revenues in the quarter were up 66% year-over-year to $170 million. It has multiple monetization avenues left to explore, including Maps, Spotlight, Stories and others. Hence, with forward revenue estimates of roughly 50%, the company is in pole position to deliver strong returns for the foreseeable future.
\n
Alibaba Group (BABA)
\n
Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has been one of the fastest-growing companies in the past several years. In the past seven years, its business has grown at a spectacular 23.8% CAGR and is still growing at an impressive pace. Year-over-year revenue growth has been at a remarkable 41%, with forward estimates over 35%. Analysts believe that BABA stock could generate over 300% returns in the next five years.
\n
Alibaba has gone a great job of diversifying its income streams from its traditional retail business. Some of these include cloud computing, entertainment, digital media and others. Cloud computing, in particular, is an area where Alibaba will look to invest heavily in the coming years. The high-margin business will help narrow down its losses and open up new opportunities in adjacent areas.
\n
Etsy (ETSY)
\n
Etsy is an online niche marketplace with a wide and sustainable moat. It has witnessed massive growth during the pandemic, as its revenues increased by triple-digit percentages in the past four quarters. Its gross merchandise value (GMV) and revenues increased by roughly 106% and 111%, respectively, in 2020. Moreover, its EBITDA growth on a year-over-year basis is at a stunning 391%. No wonder ETSY stock has surged over 78% in the past 12 months.
\n
With last year’s blow-out performance, investors are worried about whether the company can continue its progress. Etsy is expanding its business through some smart acquisitions. It recently acquired Reverb and Depop to expand its music and fashion recommerce expertise. These acquisitions will also facilitate the company’s global outreach.Etsy posted a 141% year-over-year growth in its first quarter, which suggests that it isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
\n
Roku (ROKU)
\n
Streaming giant Roku has been on a roll in the past year, with its revenues and subscribers fueled by the pandemic. It gained an unbelievable 16.7 million new users during the pandemic and now has 53.6 million users. It is likely to achieve a record 65 million users by the conclusion of this year. With strong user monetization and active user growth, ROKU stock could potentially surge to new heights.
\n
Looking ahead, the company has multiple growth drivers which could push its stock price higher in the future. Its CTV ad segment, in particular, could pay a lot of dividends with the gradual shift from linear to CTV. Moreover, it continues to invest heavily in its content library, with its recent launch of Roku Originals and its acquisition of Saban Films. Hence, it has an incredible growth runway ahead and should continue posting strong top and bottom-line numbers.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
7 Growth Stocks to Buy and Hold for a Golden Retirement
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n7 Growth Stocks to Buy and Hold for a Golden Retirement\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-28 17:39 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
These growth stocks to buy will add a ton of value to your retirement portfolio by providing a growing return on investment\nThe last thing any retiree would want to do is to sit around and fret about ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"ETSY":"Etsy, Inc.","SHOP":"Shopify Inc","SQ":"Block","ROKU":"Roku Inc","BABA":"阿里巴巴","SNAP":"Snap Inc","NET":"Cloudflare, Inc."},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/2021/06/7-great-growth-stocks-to-buy-and-hold-for-a-golden-retirement/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1103992527","content_text":"These growth stocks to buy will add a ton of value to your retirement portfolio by providing a growing return on investment\nThe last thing any retiree would want to do is to sit around and fret about their portfolio.
The cases have since spread to Jurong Fishery Port, Singapore's main fishery port, as well as an increasing number of markets and food centres islandwide.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":291,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":150275756,"gmtCreate":1624919139675,"gmtModify":1633947164163,"author":{"id":"3587037754746901","authorId":"3587037754746901","name":"SharkRider","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de2adeb4ae77e489f87ea6b1daebff81","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good bunch of stocks to consider.
That’s in addition to at least nine previous confirmed fires in the first round of vehicles that were recalled.\nGM also said it will notify customers when replacement parts are ready.\nIn the meantime, GM is asking affected Bolt EV owners to set their vehicles to a 90% state of charge limitation using Hilltop Reserve mode (for 2017-2018 model years) or Target Charge Level (for 2019 model year) mode.\nGM also is asking owners to avoid depleting their battery below approximately 70 miles of remaining range and, as it advised last week, continue to not park their vehicles inside or charge them unattended overnight “out of an abundance of caution.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":476,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":124838148,"gmtCreate":1624757773884,"gmtModify":1633949058210,"author":{"id":"3587037754746901","authorId":"3587037754746901","name":"SharkRider","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/de2adeb4ae77e489f87ea6b1daebff81","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"And the battle continues...
