Yesterday saw both DWAC and fellow “Trump trade”CF Acquisition Corp. VI (NASDAQ:CFVI) rise all day as speculation grew that the two would be forming a partnership. Today, a new report has DWAC stock falling almost as quickly.
\n
What’s Happening With DWAC Stock
\n
Before markets opened this morning, Salon reported that a government watchdog organization had found evidence that Truth Social, the social media network that will be the primary subsidiary of TMTG, may have strong ties to an international government with a noted history of human rights violations. Accountable.US, a left-leaning watchdog organization has submitted a letter to the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform advocating for a government investigation into Trump’s attempts to gain favor from Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro in his social media venture’s international launch. This news has not been good for DWAC stock.
\n
The stock began the day by falling, and despite a quick rebound, it was even quicker to fall again. DWAC is down by more than 13% today and has been declining all afternoon. Following yesterday’s rise, DWAC stock is still in the green by more than 21% for the past week. However, for the month, it’s in the red by 0.82%. As can be expected, CFVI stock has also been falling all afternoon and is down by over 9% today.
\n
Why It Matters
\n
No one from the Trump team has commented on the report from Accountable.US, leaving plenty of room for speculation. It isn’t hard at all to believe that the report is accurate. Trump and Bolsonaro have a history of siding with each other and sharing the same extreme-right values that have often been called authoritarian. Recent reports have indicated that Brazil’s president is employing the same tactics in his upcoming election that the U.S. saw from Trump in 2020, such as attempting to discredit the press and cast doubt regarding the legitimacy of the electoral process.
\n
DWAC is already in hot water as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)continues its probe into the company’s involvement with Trump’s company prior to the merger announcements. Reports last year speculated that Trump’s defeat in 2020 would deprive Bolsoanro of a “clear political advantage.” With that in mind, it certainly makes sense that he would be incentivized to do what he could to help the former president get back into power. It’s also clear that Trump will need to do everything he can to help his social media platform gain international reach and that the first people to whom he would turn would be his closest allies abroad. Bolsonaro would be an especially tempting target, as he is facing the prospect of reelection in 2022.
\n
What It Means
\n
A partnership of this sort between Trump and Bolsonaro could prove mutually beneficial for both parties. That doesn’t mean that the path forward will be so straightforward for DWAC stock. Recent events have proven that the more details emerge from behind the scenes, the more complicated the road ahead looks for the company.
\n
As has been the case since October, all we can do is watch these companies closely, paying special attention DWAC stock. The way it looks from here, as DWAC goes, so go the Trump trades. All companies are worth watching as 2022 nears and with it, the alleged debut of Truth Social.
\n

","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
DWAC Stock Cools Down as the Trump SPAC’s ‘Brazil Ties’ Draw Attention
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nDWAC Stock Cools Down as the Trump SPAC’s ‘Brazil Ties’ Draw Attention\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-12-10 10:13 GMT+8 InvestorPlace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The market turbulence with which the stocks closely linked to former President Donald Trump have become synonymous continues today. When this point happens the stock may break out of the pennant pattern and see a strong move in the same direction as the break.\nThe stock crossed above the 50-day moving average (green) Tuesday but trades below the 200-day moving average (blue), indicating sentiment in the stock looks to be turning slightly more bullish.\nThe 50-day moving average may hold as support in the pattern, while the 200-day moving average may act as a resistance level.\nThe Relative Strength Index (RSI) bounced back a bit after falling for the last few weeks and sits at 49. This shows an increase in the amount of buyers in the stock and shows the overall buying pressure almost equals the selling pressure.\n\nWhat’s Next For Novavax?\nBullish traders are looking to see the stock continue to trade within the pennant pattern for a while before breaking above the pattern resistance. A break above pattern resistance with a period of consolidation would hint that the stock may be ready to continue on a bullish run higher.\nBearish traders are looking to see the stock fade back below the pattern support once again. In that context, the selloff this week was fairly typical.\nWe have yet to see a more substantive selloff (5%+) since October of last year - although we did very briefly see a 5% drawdown last Monday which however faded just as quickly - putting the duration (92nd percentile) as well as the size (93rd percentile) of this rally in the top decile.\n\nCourtesy of Deutsche Bank, here are some notable positioning indicators:\n\nThe consolidated measure of equity positioning has been falling since late June (from the 97th to the 60th percentile).\n\n\n\nBoth discretionary investors (72nd percentile) and systematic strategies (46th percentile) have cut exposure, with discretionary positioning now at the lowest since the post-election rally, while systematic positioning is at the lowest since May.\n\n\n\nHowever, there is a divergence between equity positioning for US large caps (read giga tech names), which has remained very robust, and that for others which has declined.\n\n\n\nA subset of positioning indicators specifically tracking large-caps has remained at the higher end since mid-July even as our aggregate measure has steadily moved lower.\n\n\n\nEquity inflows had been extremely strong going into the selloff, clocking in at over $50bn last week, the largest since March, and primarily benefiting US large caps.A significant proportion of last week’s huge flows then reversed over Friday (-$20bn) and Monday (-$16bn) but inflows have resumed since.\n\n\n\nHere, it's worth noting that most inflows have benefited almost exclusively large cap US funds, with mid caps hugging the flatline for the last year, and small caps barely higher.\n\n\n\nThe aggregate put/call volume ratio rose sharply on Monday as equities sold off, but over the week quickly fell back again into the low range that it has been in since last June. Both put and call volumes had spiked on Monday, but have normalized quickly.\n\n\n\nMost of the pickup in option volumes came from index and ETF options.\n\nWithin single stocks, puts and calls volumes fell last week across both large and small caps.\nVol Control funds, which had already cut their equity allocations (mostly large-cap) last Friday (67% to 65%), accelerated their selling on Monday (to 62%, 27th percentile),but quickly started buying back over the next three days, and their allocations are now back to 67% (43rd percentile).A spike and subsequent reversal in implied vol was the primary driver of the round.\nMeanwhile, Risk Parity funds trimmed their equity allocations only marginally during this week.\n\nCuriously, large cap trend signals remain strong and small cap signals actually improved slightly during the week.\nOne final observation: with Q3 earnings season coming on deck, some 25% of companies have now entered their buyback blackout period. Such has been the case since Digital World Acquisition(NASDAQ:DWAC) became an overnight sensation. That occurred following the news that it would be serving as the blank-check partner for the Trump Media & Technology Group(TMTG), and unforeseen news reports have helped shift markets in an entirely new direction since then.

Wall Street's main indexes finished Tuesday's session with strong gains as investors shook off some anxiety about the latest coronavirus variant and investors boosted Nasdaq by piling into technology stocks.
\n
Intel's announcement of plans to take its self-driving car unit Mobileye public in the United States next year pushed his shares to a 3% gain and cheered chip investors across the board.
\n
The Philadelphia SE Semiconductor index closed up 4.97% after hitting a near one-month low on Tuesday.
\n
Investors were also reassured by positive news about the Omicron variant of COVID-19, which had helped send them fleeing from risky bets last week.
\n
Before market open, British drugmaker GSK said an antibody-based COVID-19 therapy it is developing with Vir Biotechnology was effective against all mutations of the Omicron variant.
\n
That news added to the relief rally along with infectious disease official Anthony Fauci's comment on Tuesday that preliminary evidence indicates while Omicron likely has a higher degree of transmissibility, it appears to be less severe. Fauci had made similar comments on Sunday.
\n
\"A week ago we saw a big scare because of Omicron and over the following week it appeared to be very contagious but less severe than people were worried about,\" said Peter Tuz, president of Chase Investment Counsel in Charlottesville, Virginia.
\n
Michael James, managing director of equity trading at Wedbush Securities in Los Angeles, said the Glaxosmithkline headline was already \"instrumental to people's sentiment.\"
\n
He also cited the Intel news and investor bets that the market would see its traditional December boost, known as the Santa Claus rally.
\n
\"There's certainly fears of missing out on the Santa Claus rally,\" said James. \"It's a bigger picture risk-on mentality that's taking hold today.\"
\n
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 492.4 points, or 1.4%, to 35,719.43, the S&P 500 gained 95.08 points, or 2.07%, to 4,686.75 and the Nasdaq Composite added 461.76 points, or 3.03%, to 15,686.92.
\n
The CBOE volatility index , often referred to the Wall Street fear gauge, eased from a more than 10-month high last week. It ended the day down 19.5 points at 21.89, its lowest close since Oct. 6.
\n
All of the 11 major S&P sectors advanced, with information technology sector closing up 3.5% for its biggest one-day percentage gain since March 9, with consumer discretionary following suit with a 2.4% gain.
\n
The S&P 1500 Hotels, Restaurant and Leisure closed up 1.4%. After rallying for much of the day, the S&P 1500 Airlines closed down 0.6%. The airline index had gained 5% on Monday.
\n
In the semiconductor industry, other big gainers besides Intel were Nvidia , which added 7.96%, while NXP Semiconductor and Applied Materials both advanced 6.5%.
\n
Vir Biotechnology closed up 11.9%.
\n
Merck & Co fell 1.6% as Guggenheim downgraded the stock to \"neutral\" from \"buy\" after the drugmaker paused enrollment in two late-stage clinical trials testing its experimental drug for treatment and prevention of HIV-1.
\n
Advancing issues outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE by a 4.10-to-1 ratio; on Nasdaq, a 3.37-to-1 ratio favored advancers.
\n
The S&P 500 posted 37 new 52-week highs and no new lows; the Nasdaq Composite recorded 52 new highs and 48 new lows.
\n
On U.S. exchanges, 11.38 billion shares changed hands compared with the 11.55 billion average for the last 20 sessions.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html;
