The company’s been hit withdeteriorating U.S.-China relations, and more recently,delisting threats. The globalchip shortageaffecting all EV stocks is still at play, providing additional downside momentum in recent weeks.</p><p>However, today, a couple of additional headwinds materialized. Let’s dive into what’s driving NIO stock lower today.</p><p><b>BYD, Competitors Threatening NIO Stock</b></p><p>On Tuesday, Warren Buffett-backed Chinese Automaker&nbsp;<b>BYD Company</b>(OTCMKTS:<b><u>BYDDF</u></b>)announcedit had delivered more than twice as many electric cars as Nio in March.</p><p>The race to capture market share in the fast-growing Chinese market is on. And right now, it appears Nio is losing ground to competitors.</p><p>Nio’s March deliveries of 7,257 cars didbeat analyst expectations. However, Nio isn’t the only game in town, and investors seem to be assessing how the market share of each competitor will ultimately shape up.</p><p>BYD and&nbsp;<b>Xpeng</b>(NYSE:<b><u>XPEV</u></b>) combined to produce roughly three times as many cars as Nio. An approximate 25% market share compared to its top two competitors isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. Accordingly, it appears the jury’s still out on which company will be the longer-term market leader in China.</p><p><b>Q2 Production Headwinds an Issue</b></p><p>Recentcommentsby Nio’s founder and CEO William Li have provided another cause for concern for investors in NIO stock.</p><p>This time, the issue is once again with a global chip shortage. Li said:</p><blockquote>“We still face difficulties in achieving our production goal — the issue (of chip shortage) remains tough in the second quarter, but it will affect our production only in the near term.”</blockquote><p>Concerns are that the global chip shortage could result in Nio missing its production targets. Given how much growth is priced into EV stocks, that’s not a good thing. Planet 13</h2>\n<p>Are you looking for a stock that will boom in a post-pandemic world? How about <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> that is in a high-growth industry? Planet 13 checks both those boxes. The Las Vegas-based cannabis producer has enormous potential. Although it has been delivering strong results amid the pandemic, as governments lift COVID-19 restrictions, the sky is only the limit for the pot stock. I only hope that it drops in value before that happens.</p>\n<p>Over the past 12 months, its shares are up a ridiculous 709%, blowing past the <b>S&amp;P 500</b>, which has risen 60% during that time. And it is easy to see why investors are excited. Voters in four states chose to legalize marijuana for recreational use in November 2020, and more markets could open up soon, including New York, which is taking a serious look at legalization this year. The growing optimism surrounding legalization (including at the federal level) has many pot stocks doing well; the <b>Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF</b> has climbed nearly 155% in the past 12 months.</p>\n<p>Planet 13 last reported earnings on Nov. 24, 2020, when sales of $22.8 million for the period ending Sept. 30, 2020, rose 36.5% year over year. But with travel in and around the U.S. down due to the pandemic, the company can generate a whole lot more growth once governments lift restrictions. Its dispensary in Las Vegas, called the \"Superstore,\" is 112,000 square feet in size and features many other businesses; the company hopes it will become a tourist attraction that brings in more than just cannabis consumers. Planet 13 is planning to launch a second location in Santa Ana, California, later this year. At 55,000 square feet, it won't be nearly as big as the Las Vegas location, but it will be strategic, just 10 minutes away from Disneyland.</p>\n<p>The only thing that keeps me from buying the stock is its price. Its price-to-sales (P/S) ratio (this is used rather than earnings as the company remains unprofitable) is around 15 -- well above the 4.6 times sales that the average stock on the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF trades at. Planet 13 is too pricey a buy right now, but that could change if there is a market crash.</p>\n<h2>2. Starbucks</h2>\n<p>Starbucks is a great buy-and-forget stock because of the company's cult following and strong, consistent sales numbers. Even though COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns have hindered its business over the past year, Starbucks is showing resilience. On Jan. 26, the company released its first-quarter results for fiscal 2021, and comparable-store sales in the U.S. were down a modest 5% for the period ending Dec. 27, 2020.</p>\n<p>Aside from <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> bad period in 2020 for the third quarter ending June 28, 2020, where sales of $4.2 billion declined by 38% year over year (due to pandemic-related lockdowns), the company's sales have stayed at or around $6 billion in revenue in each period during the pandemic. And its profit margins have also remained relatively steady at 5% or better, although they're below the 10%-or-higher margins Starbucks has enjoyed in previous years. Still, given the headwinds from COVID-19 (e.g. supply shortages and higher prices), it's not too surprising that the company's bottom line wasn't as strong in 2020.</p>\n<p>Starbucks is optimistic for the current fiscal year (which ends in September), anticipating that global comparable-store sales will grow at a rate of 18% to 23%, and that in the U.S. and Americas they will rise between 17% and 22%. It is projecting per-share profits as high as $2.62 (including a $0.10 impact from a 53rd week). That would indicate a near-complete recovery from the $2.92 earnings per share Starbucks reported in fiscal 2019.</p>\n<p>In the past 12 months, shares of Starbucks have risen more than 50%. And with a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 38, this is a bit of a steep price to pay right now given that the average stock in the <b>SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust&nbsp;</b>trades at only 28 times earnings. Starbucks is a great stock, but the price isn't right to buy it just yet.</p>\n<h2>3. Square</h2>\n<p>Square has a great business model for an era in which people are trying to avoid holding cash due to the pandemic. The company's terminals make it easy to transact using debit and credit cards, without the need to rent a costly device from a bank. Anyone can become a merchant without the hassle of worrying about paying monthly fees even if they aren't using the devices. And the need for digital payments is here to stay, with the pandemic likely accelerating that transition. <b><a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/PYPL\">PayPal</a> </b>CEO Dan Schulman says that companies need to offer digital payments, as they have moved from \"being a nice-to-have capability to a must-have essential service.\"</p>\n<p>But what's driving Square's growth right now is the rising popularity of <b>Bitcoin</b> (CRYPTO:BTC). The digital currency has skyrocketed more than 1,000% in the past year, and Square allows users to buy the crypto through its cash app. In 2020, Square generated $4.6 billion in Bitcoin-related revenue. Not only was that nearly nine times higher than 2019's tally of $516 million, but it now accounts for nearly half of the company's sales, which totaled $9.5 billion last year. In 2019, Bitcoin sales represented just 11% of Square's top line. Outside of Bitcoin, Square generated $4.9 billion in sales in 2020, which was a 17% improvement from the previous year.</p>\n<p>The exposure to Bitcoin can both be a blessing and a curse for Square, because if the digital currency crashes as it did in 2018, Square could go along with it. But if you are bullish on crypto, it's a great way to tap into that potential growth. Either way, you still might want to wait to buy Square, as it trades at a forward P/E of more than 190, an egregious valuation regardless of the industry you are investing in. And a good way to do that is to keep track of quality stocks that are simply too expensive to be investing in right now. That way, if there is a crash, you can act quickly and not miss out on deals that may not last for long.\nThree stocks currently on my watchlist that I would love to grab if there is a correction include Planet 13 Holdings (OTC:PLNH.F), Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX), and Square (NYSE:SQ). Their valuations are high right now, but if they come down, they could be some of the best stocks to buy for the long term.\n\nImage source: Getty Images\n1. Planet 13\nAre you looking for a stock that will boom in a post-pandemic world? How about one that is in a high-growth industry? Planet 13 checks both those boxes. The Las Vegas-based cannabis producer has enormous potential. Although it has been delivering strong results amid the pandemic, as governments lift COVID-19 restrictions, the sky is only the limit for the pot stock. I only hope that it drops in value before that happens.\nOver the past 12 months, its shares are up a ridiculous 709%, blowing past the S&P 500, which has risen 60% during that time. And it is easy to see why investors are excited. Voters in four states chose to legalize marijuana for recreational use in November 2020, and more markets could open up soon, including New York, which is taking a serious look at legalization this year. The growing optimism surrounding legalization (including at the federal level) has many pot stocks doing well; the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF has climbed nearly 155% in the past 12 months.\nPlanet 13 last reported earnings on Nov. 24, 2020, when sales of $22.8 million for the period ending Sept. 30, 2020, rose 36.5% year over year. But with travel in and around the U.S. down due to the pandemic, the company can generate a whole lot more growth once governments lift restrictions. Its dispensary in Las Vegas, called the \"Superstore,\" is 112,000 square feet in size and features many other businesses; the company hopes it will become a tourist attraction that brings in more than just cannabis consumers. Planet 13 is planning to launch a second location in Santa Ana, California, later this year. At 55,000 square feet, it won't be nearly as big as the Las Vegas location, but it will be strategic, just 10 minutes away from Disneyland.\nThe only thing that keeps me from buying the stock is its price. Its price-to-sales (P/S) ratio (this is used rather than earnings as the company remains unprofitable) is around 15 -- well above the 4.6 times sales that the average stock on the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences ETF trades at. Planet 13 is too pricey a buy right now, but that could change if there is a market crash.\n2. Starbucks\nStarbucks is a great buy-and-forget stock because of the company's cult following and strong, consistent sales numbers. Even though COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns have hindered its business over the past year, Starbucks is showing resilience. On Jan. 26, the company released its first-quarter results for fiscal 2021, and comparable-store sales in the U.S. were down a modest 5% for the period ending Dec. 27, 2020.\nAside from one bad period in 2020 for the third quarter ending June 28, 2020, where sales of $4.2 billion declined by 38% year over year (due to pandemic-related lockdowns), the company's sales have stayed at or around $6 billion in revenue in each period during the pandemic. And its profit margins have also remained relatively steady at 5% or better, although they're below the 10%-or-higher margins Starbucks has enjoyed in previous years. Still, given the headwinds from COVID-19 (e.g. supply shortages and higher prices), it's not too surprising that the company's bottom line wasn't as strong in 2020.\nStarbucks is optimistic for the current fiscal year (which ends in September), anticipating that global comparable-store sales will grow at a rate of 18% to 23%, and that in the U.S. and Americas they will rise between 17% and 22%. It is projecting per-share profits as high as $2.62 (including a $0.10 impact from a 53rd week). That would indicate a near-complete recovery from the $2.92 earnings per share Starbucks reported in fiscal 2019.\nIn the past 12 months, shares of Starbucks have risen more than 50%. And with a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 38, this is a bit of a steep price to pay right now given that the average stock in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust trades at only 28 times earnings. Starbucks is a great stock, but the price isn't right to buy it just yet.\n3. Square\nSquare has a great business model for an era in which people are trying to avoid holding cash due to the pandemic. The company's terminals make it easy to transact using debit and credit cards, without the need to rent a costly device from a bank. Anyone can become a merchant without the hassle of worrying about paying monthly fees even if they aren't using the devices. And the need for digital payments is here to stay, with the pandemic likely accelerating that transition. PayPal CEO Dan Schulman says that companies need to offer digital payments, as they have moved from \"being a nice-to-have capability to a must-have essential service.\"\nBut what's driving Square's growth right now is the rising popularity of Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC). The digital currency has skyrocketed more than 1,000% in the past year, and Square allows users to buy the crypto through its cash app. In 2020, Square generated $4.6 billion in Bitcoin-related revenue. Not only was that nearly nine times higher than 2019's tally of $516 million, but it now accounts for nearly half of the company's sales, which totaled $9.5 billion last year. In 2019, Bitcoin sales represented just 11% of Square's top line. Outside of Bitcoin, Square generated $4.9 billion in sales in 2020, which was a 17% improvement from the previous year.\nThe exposure to Bitcoin can both be a blessing and a curse for Square, because if the digital currency crashes as it did in 2018, Square could go along with it. But if you are bullish on crypto, it's a great way to tap into that potential growth. Either way, you still might want to wait to buy Square, as it trades at a forward P/E of more than 190, an egregious valuation regardless of the industry you are investing in. That’s kept bets on the widely watched spread to the 10-year rate in play, as well as versus other maturities, such as the 5- and 7-year.</p>\n<p>And with the front-end anchored for a long, long time, the question then becomes what is the most lucrative steepener trade. “Some steepeners are better than others,” said Patrick Leary, senior trader and chief market strategist for Incapital. He expects the 2s10s to keep widening, but has taken profits on steepeners and is looking for a better point to re-enter. Other see potential in the 5- to 30-year steepener. TD Securities has recommended entering that bet at 146.5 basis points, targeting 170, based on what it said was a high bar for hikes and the prospect of elevated coupon supply.</p>\n<p>Taking a step back, the reason why traders have been so focused on the 5-year part of the curve, i.e., \"the belly\", is because it’s seen as one place that may bear the brunt of any subsequent selloff should rate-hike speculation mount further, since the bulk of the liftoff regime is expected to take place within the maturity of a 5 Year note issued now.</p>\n<p>Furthermore, as Bloomberg notes already certain corners of the market are turning their attention to the potential for multiple rate hikes.<b>In swaptions,</b><b><u>a position has emerged targeting the Fed to hike seven to eight times by March 2025, according to a Barclays analysis</u></b><b>.</b></p>\n<p>There is, of course, the risk that markets have gotten ahead of themselves - the whole point of a recent RIC report from BofA, which does not see anywhere nearly enough sustained inflation to justify a 2022 rate hike, let alone 7 by 2025: “it’s possible the market may have gotten a little ahead of itself in the belly,” causing the 5-year rate to rise too much, said Jamie Anderson, head of U.S. trading for Insight Investment. If the data come in weak or the Fed is on hold for longer than expected, “the belly should rally and the curve re-steepen,” he said.</p>\n<p>For Incapital’s Leary, the narrowing in the 5s30s gap came on the view that officials may discuss - or even announce - a twist next week. Such an operation, involving the sale of shorter-dated holdings and purchase of longer maturities to control yields, would put more pressure on the belly, he says. That would follow the European Central Bank’s decision to ramp up its bond-buying pace.</p>\n<p>“All these trades are highly dependent on the Fed being on the sidelines and not changing its policy stance,” Leary said.<b>“The market is definitely playing a game of chicken with the Fed, by testing how high yields can get before tightening financial conditions and forcing the Fed to step in.\"</b></p>\n<p>Meanwhile, even as some strategists have brushed aside the yield risk for growth stocks, claiming that tech has shown a fickle relationship with Treasuries over time, Joe Kalish, chief global macro strategist at Ned Davis Research,<b>found that since 2014, the Nasdaq 100’s forward earnings yield - the inverse of its price-earnings ratio where the higher it is, the cheaper stocks are - has moved almost in lockstep with forecast corporate bond rates.</b></p>\n<p>In his model, if 10-year Treasury yields rise to 2% this year, that in turn could drive long-term Baa-rated bond rates to 4.5%, a scenario where<b>the Nasdaq 100 would have to drop as much as 20% to stay attractive, all else equal.</b>If yields climbed but the Nasdaq didn’t move, this would indicate over-valuation, Kalish said, adding his model correctly flashed warnings in 1987 and 2000.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/4e1270022eb5742b2cf2a7c328a5d897\" tg-width=\"500\" tg-height=\"380\">Also keep in mind that even after the recent drop, the price-earnings ratio of the Nasdaq 100 - at 28 - is nowhere near cheap relative to other stocks, and is a 7% premium over the S&amp;P 500.</p>\n<p>Finally, the growth advantage that has sustained tech’s outperformance in all but one year since 2009 is poised to disappear - at least for the next two years - as pandemic-beaten firms like airlines and automakers roar back. Profits from software and internet companies are expected to expand 22% this year and 12% in 2022. Both companies have recently introduced sedan models that each hopes will be significant drivers of future sales growth.</p>\n<p>XPeng's P7 sports sedan has surpassed a total of 20,000 cumulative deliveries since its launch in early 2020, as it moves ahead of the G3 compact SUV as the company's most popular vehicle. That marked the fastest pace to 20,000 vehicle deliveries of any Chinese EV start-up.</p>\n<p>NIO introduced its new ET7 luxury sedan earlier this year. The ET7 will be available early next year, and has some intricate features. If many holdings are down sharply, there probably isn't much specific terrible news about any particular holding -- instead, it's probably that the whole market, as measured by the Dow Jones Industrial Index or the S&amp;P 500, has dropped sharply.</p>\n<p>The more the market drops, the more many investors panic and sell stocks they own. That can send stocks down even more, fueling further selling. It's generally best to not follow the crowd and not worry. Here are three reasons why.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/0b41c06213a97009af9123ba237d6cd5\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"466\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<p><b>1. Stock market crashes often don't last too long</b></p>\n<p>Every stock market investor needs to understand that the stock market is volatile, and \"corrections\" (drops of 10% to 20%) and \"crashes\" (drops of 20% or more) will happen -- and not infrequently. The good news is that while these corrections and crashes can sometimes be sharp and severe, they often don't last that long.</p>\n<p>A study by Charles Schwab noted that between 2000 and 2019, the stock market dropped at least 10% in 11 of those 20 years (that's more than half of the years!), with an average drop of 15%. (In two other years, the market dropped almost 10%.) That all sounds bad, right? But in fully 15 of those 20 years, the market ended up with a year-end gain, <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE\">one</a> that averaged 6%. Corrections typically last only about six months.</p>\n<p><b>2. Stock market crashes can be great buying opportunities</b></p>\n<p>The next reason not to be upset at a stock market crash is that it's likely to present some great buying opportunities. As my colleague Brian Feroldi recently tweeted:</p>\n<blockquote>\n My investing mindset:Stocks Down: \n</blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n Hooray! If you were paying attention and not panicking, you might have been able to pick up some shares of companies you'd been wanting to buy. If you do pounce early and nab some desired stocks, understand that they may still fall further for a while and that it<i>could</i>take some years before they're back in the black for you. There are few guarantees in the stock market, and patience comes in handy.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d1c239906e64ac38efa13a0577e2f357\" tg-width=\"700\" tg-height=\"499\"><span>Image source: Getty Images.</span></p>\n<p><b>3. Stock market crashes are OK if you're prepared</b></p>\n<p>Finally, the last reason not to worry too much about a stock market crash is that you're prepared for it. You may not be right now, but you can take steps to ensure that you're prepared for a future market retraction.</p>\n<p>The most important way to protect yourself from market crashes is to not invest any money you'll need in the next five or so years -- or even 10 if you want to be extra conservative. The market can swoon at any time, and you don't want it to take a third of an upcoming down payment with it.</p>\n<p>Another smart thing to do is to have a watch list of stocks you'd love to own. I have <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a>, in the form of an online portfolio, and I enter stocks in it at the price they're trading on the day they're added to it. Then, days or months later, I can see at a glance how much they've fallen or risen since I added them. And after a market crash, I can see which ones look most tempting.</p>\n<p>You won't be able to pounce on any sudden bargains if you have no cash, so you might consider keeping a small portion of your portfolio in cash, for future opportunities. Don't keep a big portion in cash, though, because the market might not drop for several months or even years, during which time that money won't be growing for you.</p>\n<p>Finally, remember to always pay attention to valuation. If you overpay for a good stock, it might fall and take a<i>long</i>time to recover.<b>Cisco Systems</b> (NASDAQ:CSCO) is a great cautionary example. Consider that way back in March 2000, it was trading above $77 per share; it was recently trading for about $48 per share, some 21 years later! It's not that Cisco is a bad company -- there are plenty of reasons to buy shares today -- but when it was at $77, it was simply way overvalued. Aim to buy stocks for less than their intrinsic worth&nbsp;by seeking a margin of safety.</p>\n<p>So, try to be more like Brian Feroldi when investing -- enjoy seeing your net worth grow when the market is rising, and get ready to hunt for bargains when it drops. Yikes! If many holdings are down sharply, there probably isn't much specific terrible news about any particular holding -- instead, it's probably that the whole market, as measured by the Dow Jones Industrial Index or the S&P 500, has dropped sharply.\nThe more the market drops, the more many investors panic and sell stocks they own. That can send stocks down even more, fueling further selling. It's generally best to not follow the crowd and not worry. Here are three reasons why.\nImage source: Getty Images.\n1. Stock market crashes often don't last too long\nEvery stock market investor needs to understand that the stock market is volatile, and \"corrections\" (drops of 10% to 20%) and \"crashes\" (drops of 20% or more) will happen -- and not infrequently. The good news is that while these corrections and crashes can sometimes be sharp and severe, they often don't last that long.\nA study by Charles Schwab noted that between 2000 and 2019, the stock market dropped at least 10% in 11 of those 20 years (that's more than half of the years!), with an average drop of 15%. (In two other years, the market dropped almost 10%.) That all sounds bad, right? But in fully 15 of those 20 years, the market ended up with a year-end gain, one that averaged 6%. Corrections typically last only about six months.\n2. Stock market crashes can be great buying opportunities\nThe next reason not to be upset at a stock market crash is that it's likely to present some great buying opportunities. As my colleague Brian Feroldi recently tweeted:\n\n My investing mindset:Stocks Down: \n\n\n Hooray! I can buy my favorite stocks cheaper!\n\n\n Stocks Up: Hooray! My net worth went up!\n\nThe Nasdaq experienced a correction of about 12% recently, falling from 14,153 on Feb. 16 to 12,422 on March 5. If you were paying attention and not panicking, you might have been able to pick up some shares of companies you'd been wanting to buy. If you do pounce early and nab some desired stocks, understand that they may still fall further for a while and that itcouldtake some years before they're back in the black for you. Stock market crashes are OK if you're prepared\nFinally, the last reason not to worry too much about a stock market crash is that you're prepared for it. You may not be right now, but you can take steps to ensure that you're prepared for a future market retraction.\nThe most important way to protect yourself from market crashes is to not invest any money you'll need in the next five or so years -- or even 10 if you want to be extra conservative. The market can swoon at any time, and you don't want it to take a third of an upcoming down payment with it.\nAnother smart thing to do is to have a watch list of stocks you'd love to own. I have one, in the form of an online portfolio, and I enter stocks in it at the price they're trading on the day they're added to it. Then, days or months later, I can see at a glance how much they've fallen or risen since I added them. And after a market crash, I can see which ones look most tempting.\nYou won't be able to pounce on any sudden bargains if you have no cash, so you might consider keeping a small portion of your portfolio in cash, for future opportunities. Don't keep a big portion in cash, though, because the market might not drop for several months or even years, during which time that money won't be growing for you.\nFinally, remember to always pay attention to valuation. If you overpay for a good stock, it might fall and take alongtime to recover.Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) is a great cautionary example. Consider that way back in March 2000, it was trading above $77 per share; it was recently trading for about $48 per share, some 21 years later! It's not that Cisco is a bad company -- there are plenty of reasons to buy shares today -- but when it was at $77, it was simply way overvalued. Aim to buy stocks for less than their intrinsic worth by seeking a margin of safety.\nSo, try to be more like Brian Feroldi when investing -- enjoy seeing your net worth grow when the market is rising, and get ready to hunt for bargains when it drops. Ark’s flagship fund — Ark Innovation — returned nearly 150% in 2020 as the pandemic accelerated innovation trends and now has more than $17 billion in net assets. However, ARKK is down more than 11% this year amid recent weakness in technology stocks, pressured by rising interest rates.\n“We are getting great opportunities” in the sell-off to buy the pure play names in the funds, said Wood. “When we get opportunities like this to invest in pure plays instead of more mature plays...we will move back into pure plays.”\n“We are becoming more and more optimistic about our portfolios in this sell-off,” she added.\nWood took the recent tech weakness as an opportunity to buy the dip in some of her ETF’s top holdings. Wood has made big purchases ofTesla,Teladoc,Zoom VideoandPalantir, according to the firm’s disclosures. Ark Innovation also scooped up shares of Square, Roku, Zillow and Shopifyrecently.\n\nInvestors have exited some of their high growth names as bond yields rise in recent weeks. Wood said Ark Invest is struck that the market never priced in 0.5%, 1%, or 1.5% yield on the U.S. 10-year Treasury.\n“We do think the speed of the increase in interest rates is scaring people. It became very comfortable in a low interest rate environment: nothing much changing, the Fed has our back and so forth,” said Wood.\nWood added that this type of pullback happened to Ark during the fourth quarter of 2016, when President Donald Trump was elected and promised to lower tax rates. During that period, Ark’s strategies went negative.\n“The bull market was broadening out to incorporate value or more cyclical sectors and I thought that was going to be very good news for our strategies longer run.
