Carnival shares fell 17.9% with rival Norwegian Cruise Line seeing its shares slide 18.3%. Wynn Resorts stock fell 19.6%, matching the loss logged by Las Vegas Sands. OCU400 is a gene-therapy candidate targeting several degenerative eye diseases that severely impair vision. Despite the news, OCGN stock is down 6.3% today as investors seem reluctant to buy into the struggling med-tech company.\nShankar Musunuri, chief executive and co-founder of Ocugen, commented on the significance of this recent development.\n\n“We are delighted to advance OCU400 into clinical trials, which exemplifies our goal of offering new options to people with genetic diseases where none currently exist. … We’re collaborating with leading centers in eye care and have been vital partners to getting our trial launched and receive patients. With this final decision by the FDA, we are embarking on a new pathway of care through this innovative gene therapy.”\n\nThe news comes as a welcome change of pace for the company. Ocugen is perhaps best known for its Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin, which largely lags behind the competition. On Nov. 30, the FDA issued a hold on an approval application for late-stage clinical testing of its vaccine.\nOcugen represents just the North American side of the vaccine’s distribution. Meanwhile, Bharat Biotech, co-developer of the vaccine, has earned approval for use in 17 countries, including the company’s native India. This stands in stark contrast to Ocugen, who many investors believe is too little too late. Ocugen has come under fire for attempting to penetrate largely saturated Western markets as it pertains to vaccine options.\nWill this latest news shake things up for the struggling pharma company?\nOCU400: A Silver Lining for Struggling OCGN stock\nArguably, OCU400 is Ocugen’s main prize-horse going forward. The robust relative premiums on these mostly growth stocks likely explains why their performance has been subpar in a market that has tilted more toward value sectors for a good portion of 2021.</p>\n<p>These nine \"shared favorites\" have lagged the S&amp;P 500 by 14 percentage points this year (6% gain vs. 20% appreciation), according to Goldman's findings.</p>\n<p>\"The strategy of owning shared favorites has a historical track record of outperformance. They include: Adobe , Fiserv (FISV), General Motors , Liberty Broadband , Mastercard (MA), Square , Twilio, Visa (V) and Wells Fargo .\nThe stocks — mostly of the growth variety (save for Wells Fargoand General Motors) aren't cheap from a valuation perspective, however.\nGoldman notes these nine stocks trade at a stiff 63% valuation premium to the S&P 500 (^GSPC). The robust relative premiums on these mostly growth stocks likely explains why their performance has been subpar in a market that has tilted more toward value sectors for a good portion of 2021.\nThese nine \"shared favorites\" have lagged the S&P 500 by 14 percentage points this year (6% gain vs. 20% appreciation), according to Goldman's findings.\n\"The strategy of owning shared favorites has a historical track record of outperformance. That followed Walton's upgrade of the stock to buy from neutral on May 20, but trimmed his price target to $36 from $40, saying that valuation was now attractive as investor fears over test-flight delays and competitive pressures were overblown. \n\n\n  The fact that most of the remaining insider stakes were locked up through October was another reason to be bullish. (A lockup refers to an agreement by insiders not to sell the shares they own for a previously agreed upon time.) \n\n\n  Interestingly, the stock closed on the day Walton turned bullish at $19.81, or just 0.2% above current levels. \n\n\n  In Monday's note, he said with the start of commercial operations pushed out to the fourth quarter of 2022, it moves the cumulative delay to 2 1/2 years from the mid-2020 target the company had when it went public two years ago. \n\n\n  \"With a cumulative delay longer than the time the company has been public, it'll be a challenge to get too optimistic on flight cadence, and we've further lowered our outyear trajectory,\" Walton wrote. \n\n\n  The stock has now tumbled 34.5% over the past three months, and has shed 11.9% over the past 12 months.
