This authentication service verifies the legitimacy of high-end footwear.
\n
What You Need To Know: eBay is making strides to protect its market share in the sneaker industry. Once the largest online reseller of sneakers, eBay has lost a good chunk of its market share to competitors such as StockX and Sneaker Con.
\n
eBay was previously working with Sneaker Con. Small Investors Keep Piling Into Flashy Growth Stocks","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1143924299","media":"WSJ","summary":"Conventional Wall Street wisdom says inflation is bad for growth and technology stocks. Many small i","content":"
Conventional Wall Street wisdom says inflation is bad for growth and technology stocks. Many small investors don’t care.
\n
Individual investors continue to stampede into shares of growth companies, the types of buzzy stocks that have enjoyed explosive price gains this year. Advanced Micro Devices Inc., Nvidia Corp. and Apple Inc. are the three stocks most purchased this month by individual investors, according to VandaTrack, a Vanda Research flow tracker that measures net purchases.
\n
Growth stocks are typically companies—often tech firms—that are expected to deliver faster-than-average profit growth in the future. They tend to flourish in a low-rate environment, including over the past year and a half. Investors are typically willing to pay higher prices for such companies when they don’t see many alternatives for making sizable profits.
\n
For example, 18 of the stocks that are most favored by individual investors, including the chip makers AMD and Nvidia, trade on average at nearly 13 times their trailing 12-month sales, according to an analysis by Dow Jones Market Data. Stocks in the S&P 500 trade at an average of three times their sales.
\n
But mounting inflation can be troublesome for growth stocks. That is because inflation brings the prospect of higher interest rates and higher bond yields, making the future cash flows of growth stocks less attractive. Traders, in turn, typically shuffle their portfolios to include other investments that stand to benefit from rising rates.
\n
A government report this month showed that the consumer-price index jumped 6.2% in October from a year earlier, climbing atthe fastest pace in three decades. Fund-flow tracker EPFR, whose data captures mostly institutional investor behavior, estimates that investors responded by yanking more than $2 billion out of U.S. tech-focused mutual and exchange-traded funds in the two weeks ended Nov. 17. That marks the worst stretch since a two-week period ended in early January 2019.
\n
At the same time, institutional investors are pumping money into more value-oriented sectors, such as consumer goods, healthcare and utilities, EPFR data show. Those industries tend to trade at lower valuations and tend to be more defensive moves for investors during times of heightened uncertainty.
\n
Greg Hahn, chief investment officer of Indianapolis-based Winthrop Capital Management, said his team has been paring back exposure to large-cap technology stocks.
\n
“We’re shifting out of growth,” Mr. Hahn said. Instead, the firm is focused on finding quality companies that have reasonable valuations and strong balance sheets—ones that are “sustainable in a potentially rough next market cycle,” he said.
\n
Recently, Mr. Hahn said, he has added exposure to a company that manufactures engines and generators and a pharmaceutical company that produces medicines and other products for animals.
\n
To be sure, U.S. stocks are still hovering near records, bond yields remain historically low and an earlier rally in gold prices has subsided. That suggests that inflation fears haven’t yet spurred many professional investors to entirely upend their playbooks. Some 61% of fund managers surveyed this month believe inflation is transitory, according to Bank of America Global Research.
\n
Still, the recent divergence in strategy between professional and individual investors is the latest example of the unusual dynamics that have played out in financial markets this year. Repeatedly, small investors have upended longstanding trading strategies by sending stocks such asGameStopCorp.andHertz Global HoldingsInc.HTZ11.06%soaring, with little regard for the companies’ underlying value. Some rely on classic momentum investing—a strategy of buying assets simply because they are rising.
\n
It isn’t uncommon for stocks favored by individual investors to be volatile. But those stocks can pay off too: AMD and Nvidia are each up 28% or more month-to-date, while Apple has climbed 8.1%. That compares with a 2.1% rise for the S&P 500.
\n
“The lesson we’ve learned over the past 12 to 18 months…is that IPOs, fiscal stimulus and other micro [events] are much bigger drivers for retail investor behavior” than inflation readings, said Viraj Patel, global macro strategist at Vanda Research. “We’ve never woken up the day after the CPI and seen huge selling from retail investors.”
\n
Matt Delao, a 28-year-old individual investor from California, said he has followed data on inflation and supply-chain snarls this year. Many small investors don’t care.\nIndividual investors continue to stampede into shares of growth companies, the types of buzzy stocks that have enjoyed explosive price gains this year. Advanced Micro Devices Inc., Nvidia Corp. and Apple Inc. are the three stocks most purchased this month by individual investors, according to VandaTrack, a Vanda Research flow tracker that measures net purchases.\nGrowth stocks are typically companies—often tech firms—that are expected to deliver faster-than-average profit growth in the future. They tend to flourish in a low-rate environment, including over the past year and a half. Investors are typically willing to pay higher prices for such companies when they don’t see many alternatives for making sizable profits.\nFor example, 18 of the stocks that are most favored by individual investors, including the chip makers AMD and Nvidia, trade on average at nearly 13 times their trailing 12-month sales, according to an analysis by Dow Jones Market Data. Stocks in the S&P 500 trade at an average of three times their sales.\nBut mounting inflation can be troublesome for growth stocks. That is because inflation brings the prospect of higher interest rates and higher bond yields, making the future cash flows of growth stocks less attractive. Traders, in turn, typically shuffle their portfolios to include other investments that stand to benefit from rising rates.\nA government report this month showed that the consumer-price index jumped 6.2% in October from a year earlier, climbing atthe fastest pace in three decades. Fund-flow tracker EPFR, whose data captures mostly institutional investor behavior, estimates that investors responded by yanking more than $2 billion out of U.S. tech-focused mutual and exchange-traded funds in the two weeks ended Nov. 17. That marks the worst stretch since a two-week period ended in early January 2019.\nAt the same time, institutional investors are pumping money into more value-oriented sectors, such as consumer goods, healthcare and utilities, EPFR data show. Those industries tend to trade at lower valuations and tend to be more defensive moves for investors during times of heightened uncertainty.\nGreg Hahn, chief investment officer of Indianapolis-based Winthrop Capital Management, said his team has been paring back exposure to large-cap technology stocks.\n“We’re shifting out of growth,” Mr. Hahn said. Instead, the firm is focused on finding quality companies that have reasonable valuations and strong balance sheets—ones that are “sustainable in a potentially rough next market cycle,” he said.\nRecently, Mr. Hahn said, he has added exposure to a company that manufactures engines and generators and a pharmaceutical company that produces medicines and other products for animals.\nTo be sure, U.S. stocks are still hovering near records, bond yields remain historically low and an earlier rally in gold prices has subsided. That suggests that inflation fears haven’t yet spurred many professional investors to entirely upend their playbooks. Some 61% of fund managers surveyed this month believe inflation is transitory, according to Bank of America Global Research.\nStill, the recent divergence in strategy between professional and individual investors is the latest example of the unusual dynamics that have played out in financial markets this year. Repeatedly, small investors have upended longstanding trading strategies by sending stocks such asGameStopCorp.andHertz Global HoldingsInc.HTZ11.06%soaring, with little regard for the companies’ underlying value. Some rely on classic momentum investing—a strategy of buying assets simply because they are rising.\nIt isn’t uncommon for stocks favored by individual investors to be volatile. But those stocks can pay off too: AMD and Nvidia are each up 28% or more month-to-date, while Apple has climbed 8.1%. That compares with a 2.1% rise for the S&P 500.\n“The lesson we’ve learned over the past 12 to 18 months…is that IPOs, fiscal stimulus and other micro [events] are much bigger drivers for retail investor behavior” than inflation readings, said Viraj Patel, global macro strategist at Vanda Research. “We’ve never woken up the day after the CPI and seen huge selling from retail investors.”\nMatt Delao, a 28-year-old individual investor from California, said he has followed data on inflation and supply-chain snarls this year. But he said his trading strategy has focused mostly on screening for stocks that appear priced for a significant move. Recently, he has traded options for AMD and bitcoin-mining companyRiot Blockchain Inc.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":309,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":874858720,"gmtCreate":1637761245526,"gmtModify":1637761245641,"author":{"id":"3577433295437037","authorId":"3577433295437037","name":"Noob6","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/395476a9381e76bd4cd6eb8b78eddc5e","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577433295437037","authorIdStr":"3577433295437037"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok","listText":"Ok","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/874858720","repostId":"2185354952","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":417,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":875787947,"gmtCreate":1637690153986,"gmtModify":1637690154078,"author":{"id":"3577433295437037","authorId":"3577433295437037","name":"Noob6","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/395476a9381e76bd4cd6eb8b78eddc5e","crmLevel":5,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3577433295437037","authorIdStr":"3577433295437037"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ok ","listText":"Ok ","text":"Ok","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/875787947","repostId":"1156228294","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1156228294","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1637679908,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1156228294?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-11-23 23:05","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Aptevo Stock Rallies After Posting First Complete Remission In Early Acute Myeloid Leukemia Trial","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1156228294","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Aptevo Therapeutics Inc has announced a clinical update for its Phase 1b Expansion trial evaluating ","content":"
\n
Aptevo Therapeutics Inc has announced a clinical update for its Phase 1b Expansion trial evaluating APVO436 for acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
\n
\n
\n
A high-risk AML patient treated in Cohort 1 with a combination of chemotherapy plus APVO436 achieved a complete remission (CR) after one cycle of therapy.
\n
The chemotherapy regimen included the standard leukemia drugs Mitoxantrone, Etoposide, and Cytarabine.
\n
The patient tolerated treatment without evidence of over toxicity.
\n
Overexpression of CD123 is the hallmark of many forms of leukemia. For many individuals, the key objective is to construct a portfolio to at least beat inflation. But I guess it’s safe to say that most would like to beat the index, generating superior returns compared to the market’s benchmark. That way, you know you are investing right.

If you are looking for top growth stocks to buy, you should look for companies that could expand their top-line quickly. In general, a strong revenue growth trend may indicate that a company has excellent products that consumers can’t live without. But it’s also equally important to assess whether these companies can keep growing quickly. After all, being able to grow quickly today means nothing if it’s not sustainable over the longer term. With all that being said, let’s look at some of the best growth stocks to watch in thestock market today.

Best Growth Stocks To Watch Right Now

BlackBerry Ltd.(NYSE: BB)

Cloudflare Inc.(NYSE: NET)

Square Inc.(NYSE: SQ)

Zynga Inc.(NASDAQ: ZNGA)

Teladoc Health Inc.(NYSE: TDOC)

BlackBerry

While a big part of the rally has to do with Redditers pushing up the stock, the company’s development is what attracts me to BB stock. The company has a string of partnerships that would propel BB stock higher in the long run. Recall that the company partnered with Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) to develop an app store for connected cars. If you believe that its auto app store, IVY, will be a big hit, any weakness in BB stock is an opportunity to scoop up the shares at a discount. Given all these points, would you consider BB stock a long-term investment?

Cloudflare

Cloudflare is possibly one of the most exciting cloud companies to look out for if you are investing for the long term. For those unfamiliar with the business, Cloudflare’s aim is to build a better and safer internet. Some of the company’s potential growth drivers include serverless computing, internet of things (IoT), and 5G. These present massive opportunities for the company to tap into. With more businesses moving their operations to the cloud, Cloudflare could see explosive growth in this burgeoning cybersecurity industry. That’s because of its role in safeguarding and speeding up the internet.

From the company’s first-quarter earnings, revenue came in 51% higher year-over-year to $138.1 million. More importantly, large customers now represent greater than 50% of revenue. Following these earnings, NET stock has surged more than 20% over the past month. With all that being said, let’s look at some of the best growth stocks to watch in thestock market today.Best Growth Stocks To Watch Right NowBlackBerry Ltd.(NYSE: BB)Cloudflare Inc.(NYSE: NET)Square Inc.(NYSE: SQ)Zynga Inc.(NASDAQ: ZNGA)Teladoc Health Inc.(NYSE: TDOC)BlackBerryWhile a big part of the rally has to do with Redditers pushing up the stock, the company’s development is what attracts me to BB stock. Given all these points, would you consider BB stock a long-term investment?CloudflareCloudflare is possibly one of the most exciting cloud companies to look out for if you are investing for the long term. The network security and content delivery network (CDN) provider also sees strong large customer growth, with a record addition of roughly 120 large customers in the quarter. More importantly, large customers now represent greater than 50% of revenue. Following these earnings, NET stock has surged more than 20% over the past month. It's bigger than you think.","content":"
It's easy to be skeptical about last week's launch of Netflix's(NASDAQ:NFLX) online merch store. The new platform -- available via Netflix.shop-- is limited to selling T-shirts and hoodies themed to itsYasukeandEdenanime. It's just designer streetwear right now, and it's not cheap. T-shirts range in price from $30 to $45. Hypland's Yasuke hoodie is going to set you back a beefy $82, or nearly half a year of a Netflix subscription.
\n
However, you may want to think twice before you dismiss the leading premium video service's chances here. There are some good reasons to bet on Netflix's latest move. Let's check them out.
\n
\n
1. Netflix is just getting started
\n
This is obviously just the opening act of Netflix.shop. You can get third-party -- admittedly unlicensed -- shirts for a lot less elsewhere. It will be harder to duplicate theYasukeandEdenaction figures that Netflix is promising will roll out later this month.
\n
Limited-edition apparel and decor inspired byLupin-- with the second season just dropping into your Netflix queue -- will hit the digital storefront this month. Last week's launch also teased upcoming exclusiveStranger ThingsandThe Witcherproduct lines. Reports also have Netflix working on aBridgertonclothing line alongside live events. And Fans ofLa Casa de Papel-- akaMoney Heist-- should be on the lookout for proprietary merch.
\n
Don't judge Netflix's new foray into the e-tail of physical merch based on what you see on today's landing page. The store will get bigger, and you'll get there once they roll around to paddling a new revenue stream based on one of your favorite shows.
\n
2. Never underestimate the Netflix audience
\n
It's not smart to bet against Netflix. It doesn't make a move unless it has thoroughly thought things through. How many times were we asking Netflix to rent video games by mail during its red envelope days? How many analysts have wondered about the money that Netflix could rake in it if sold ads on top of its streams in this era of rising connected-TV rates?
\n
Netflix is way smarter than me. It may also be smarter than you when it comes to how it runs its business. Bloomberg is reporting that Netflix is in the process of hiring heads of consumer products, podcasts, and video game businesses that don't currently exist. If they see the light of day -- as we're seeing with consumer product -- it's because the company knows what it's doing.
\n
Netflix had 207.6 million subscribersat the end of March, and we're talking about entire families here. The reach and breadth is larger than the account base. It's a captive audience spending hours a day getting lost in Netflix's growing digital catalog of content.
\n
Folks trust Netflix to get it right. They stick around, even if it means prices keep moving higher. Netflix has increased its monthly rates in the U.S.five times over the last seven years, and the sub count is always higher by the time the next hike rolls around.
\n
Netflix is a media stock. It's not a surprise that traditional media behemoths are generating significant sums of incremental revenue through vibrant consumer product sales. The new platform -- available via Netflix.shop-- is limited to selling T-shirts and hoodies themed to itsYasukeandEdenanime. It's just designer streetwear right now, and it's not cheap. T-shirts range in price from $30 to $45. Hypland's Yasuke hoodie is going to set you back a beefy $82, or nearly half a year of a Netflix subscription.\nHowever, you may want to think twice before you dismiss the leading premium video service's chances here. There are some good reasons to bet on Netflix's latest move. Let's check them out.\nIMAGE SOURCE: GETTY IMAGES.\n1. Netflix is just getting started\nThis is obviously just the opening act of Netflix.shop. You can get third-party -- admittedly unlicensed -- shirts for a lot less elsewhere. It will be harder to duplicate theYasukeandEdenaction figures that Netflix is promising will roll out later this month.\nLimited-edition apparel and decor inspired byLupin-- with the second season just dropping into your Netflix queue -- will hit the digital storefront this month. Last week's launch also teased upcoming exclusiveStranger ThingsandThe Witcherproduct lines. Reports also have Netflix working on aBridgertonclothing line alongside live events. And Fans ofLa Casa de Papel-- akaMoney Heist-- should be on the lookout for proprietary merch.\nDon't judge Netflix's new foray into the e-tail of physical merch based on what you see on today's landing page. The store will get bigger, and you'll get there once they roll around to paddling a new revenue stream based on one of your favorite shows.\n2. Never underestimate the Netflix audience\nIt's not smart to bet against Netflix. It doesn't make a move unless it has thoroughly thought things through. How many times were we asking Netflix to rent video games by mail during its red envelope days? How many analysts have wondered about the money that Netflix could rake in it if sold ads on top of its streams in this era of rising connected-TV rates?\nNetflix is way smarter than me. It may also be smarter than you when it comes to how it runs its business. Bloomberg is reporting that Netflix is in the process of hiring heads of consumer products, podcasts, and video game businesses that don't currently exist. If they see the light of day -- as we're seeing with consumer product -- it's because the company knows what it's doing.\nNetflix had 207.6 million subscribersat the end of March, and we're talking about entire families here. The reach and breadth is larger than the account base. It's a captive audience spending hours a day getting lost in Netflix's growing digital catalog of content.\nFolks trust Netflix to get it right. They stick around, even if it means prices keep moving higher. Netflix has increased its monthly rates in the U.S.five times over the last seven years, and the sub count is always higher by the time the next hike rolls around.\nNetflix is a media stock. It's not a surprise that traditional media behemoths are generating significant sums of incremental revenue through vibrant consumer product sales. Why wouldn't Netflix -- a company that's been collecting gobs of data on your viewing habits for years -- be as good at nailing what you'll want to buy next as it is at knowing what you want to view next? We may never see a theme park, though I would be the first in line through the turnstiles of Netflixlandia to ride theOzarkroller coaster or experience theStranger Thingsdark ride. Netflix lost 430,000 subscribers in the U.S. and Canada lastquarteras life began to return to normal in North America after a year of lockdown and stay-at-home orders that fuelled demand for the home-based entertainment.
\n
Disney, which had 103.6 million streaming customers at the end of April, has enjoyed explosive growth over the past year and a half as its Disney+ service quickly became a formidable streaming competitor for Netflix. After its launch in November 2019, the service provided the company a much needed boost when sales from its theme parks and theaters plunged.
\n
Disney Weekly Chart.
\n
The slowing growth in Disney+ subscriptions has also taken some shine off its shares in recent weeks. The stock has fallen 13% since hitting a record high of $203 intraday in early March. The stock closed on Tuesday at $177.07.
\n
Return To Normal
\n
Despite this uncertainty, there are clear signs that Disney has emerged much stronger after the pandemic, and its growth will soon return to normal levels, thanks to huge pent-up demand for travel and entertainment outside the home.
\n
For the quarter that ended June 30, analysts expect sales to grow 42% to $16.76 billion compared with the same period last year. The earnings per share is projected to reach $0.54, rebounding from a loss of $0.64 from last year.
\n
There could be some bumps on this road to recovery as the pandemic evolves and the emergence of virus variants could delay a full reopening, but Disney’s diversified business has all it takes to ultimately rebound.
\n
Already, executives have said bookings for Disney World in Orlando, Florida, are back to levels seen in 2019, while guest spending per capita at the park in the latest period jumped by double digits from a year ago. As far as growth at Disney+ is concerned, the company is keeping its guidance of 260 million global subscribers by the end of 2024, helped by a robust content slate after production delays and the shuttering of theaters for over a year.
\n
Morgan Stanley, which has an overweight rating on Disney’s stock, recommends investors buy this stock if its shares show weakness. Its recent note said:
\n
\n “Shares are flat for the year, digesting last year’s big 4Q run-up and concerns over near-term streaming estimates.
