If market makers or other options traders who delta-hedge their positions are net long ATM options, expiration-related flow could have the effect of dampening stock price movements, causing the stock price to settle near the strike with large open interest. This situation is often referred to as a “pin” and can be an ideal situation fora large investor trying to enter/exit a stock position. Alternatively, if delta-hedgers are net short ATM options (have a “negative gamma” position), their hedging activity could exacerbate stock price moves.</p><p>What that means it expiration-related trades may cause trading activity to aggressively pick up for stocks with a significant amount of ATM open interest.</p><p>So to help traders looking to hop on for daytrading opportunities, here is a table identifying possible focus stocks with large ATM open interest expiring today, which is compared to the average daily volume of the underlying stocks. Don’t expect that to end any time soon.</p>\n<p>The price movements of almost allfinancial assets have reflected expectations for higher economic growth and inflation since September. Perhaps most importantly, interest rates have taken off, with opposite effects on the two sectors.</p>\n<p>Banks lend more when the economy is healthier, and have to set aside less money to cover potential losses on loans. At the same time, each loan is more profitable iflong-term interest rates riserelative to short-term borrowing costs, as they have recently. Banks pay short-term rates for funds they get from depositors and in the money market, and lend that cash out at long-term rates, for periods of as much as 30 years,</p>\n<p>The same rise in rates—the yield on the 10-year Treasury note more than doubled since September—has eaten into the valuations of stocks, reducing the present, discounted value of money to be earned in the future.It is a particular problem for hot growth stocks, many of them in the tech sector, because most of their earnings are expected to come years from now.</p>\n<p>Now, theFinancial Select Sector SPDR Fund(ticker: XLF) is up almost 90% since the low of the pandemic-induced bear market. TheTechnology Select Sector SPDR Fund(XLK) is up 82%.</p>\n<p>“Thanks to investors resetting their view on interest rates, there has been a swift and meaningful rotation out of technology stocks and into financials,” wrote Jason Goepfert, founder of Sundial Capital Research. In roughly the past year, the aggregate value of tech stocks has fallen to about five times that of financials, compared with 6.4 times.</p>\n<p>It isn’t too late to move into financial stocks.</p>\n<p>The economy is reopening, the government has spenttrillions of dollars to prop up growth, and many consumers and businesses are ready to spend. Prices for financial stocks reflect how they could benefit from all that, but several factors indicate the group may have more room to run.</p>\n<p>First,many observers expect the 10-year Treasury yield to hit roughly 2% by year-end, a major positive for bank profitability. So long as the Federal Reserve doesn’t lift interest rates too high before the economy can handle it, loan volumes shouldn’t suffer. Earnings growth for financial companies in the S&amp;P 500 could be 12% in 2022 , according to FactSet data.</p>\n<p>Plus, financial stocks’ valuations are low. Their ratios of stock prices to expected 2022 per-share earnings are 30% lower than for the average stock in the S&amp;P 500. And Marc Andreessen, head of the venture capital outfit, sits on Coinbase’s board.</p>\n<p>Coinbase has an ambitions echo those of Robinhood Markets</p>\n<p>“Coinbase is company with an ambitious vision: to create more economic freedom for every person and business,” Armstrong wrote in a letter appended to the company’s public-filing paperwork with the SEC.</p>\n<p><b>Biggest risk factor</b></p>\n<p>No doubt the biggest risk factor in Coinbase is that it is a bet on an unproven asset class that was created just over a decade ago. Coinbase attempts to make it clear that its fate is linked to the prospects for Bitcoin and ethereum and the thousands of other alternative coins that have been written into existence.</p>\n<p>But a decline in interest and tough regulations in the U.S. and elsewhere could wallop the exchange platform.</p>\n<p>Here’s now Coinbase explains it:</p>\n<p>“<i>There is no assurance that any supported crypto asset will maintain its value or that there will be meaningful levels of trading activities. In the event that the price of crypto assets or the demand for trading crypto assets decline, our business, operating results, and financial condition would be adversely affected. A majority of our net revenue is from transactions in Bitcoin and ethereum. If demand for these crypto assets declines and is not replaced by new demand for crypto assets, our business, operating results, and financial condition could be adversely affected</i>,” Coinbase writes in its S-1 filing.</p>\n<p><b>How large is Coinbase?</b></p>\n<p>The crypto exchange platform ranks No. 3 among the largest digital asset exchanges in the world, according to data site CoinMarketCap.com. That ranking puts it behind Binance, based in Seattle and Huobi Global, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in China.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/183f3996adecd36a47a1b191cf6d3ca6\" tg-width=\"1260\" tg-height=\"453\"><span>COINMARKETCAP.COM</span></p>\n<p>In the U.S. Coinbase is by far the most well-known crypto platform but there are competitors, including Gemini, run by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who famously used their Facebook Inc.&nbsp;settlements to invest in bitcoins.</p>\n<p>Kraken is another popular crypto platform and direct competitor in the U.S.</p>\n<p><b>Odds &amp; Ends</b></p>\n<p>The company in its public filing offered a number of homages to the founder or founders of bitcoin and the digital currency age in its submission.</p>\n<p>For example, it listed the genesis block associated with Satoshi Nakamoto at “1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa,” whose white paper back in 2008 set bitcoin in motion. (Additionally, a “Satoshi” is the smallest unit of bitcoin—0.00000001 BTC).</p>\n<p>The company offers no physical address for its headquarters in California, citing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced a number of companies to have most, if not all, of its staffers work remotely. For that reason, Coinbase refers to itself as “a remote-first company.”</p>\n<p>However, having no address to some was viewed as aligning with the decentralized nature of blockchain and bitcoins.</p>\n<p>The company also offered a handy primer on cryptocurrency terms, including defining terms like “hodl,” which have become popular in crypto circles. Armstrong owns 11% of the Class A shares and 22% of the Class B shares, while Ehrsam owns 11.4% of the Class A and 9% of the Class B.</p>\n<p>According to Forbes, Armstrong’s networth is currently $6.5 billion based on his ownership in the company, which is likely to increase if the direct listing goes off successfully.</p>\n<p>Coinbase bills itself as a bet on the rapidly growing cryptoeconomy, which starts with the No. 1 crypto asset bitcoin but goes well beyond that, Armstrong and company argue.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/67e611f71f8557b80e1863da93d753c9\" tg-width=\"1260\" tg-height=\"639\"><span>COINBASE S-1</span></p>\n<p>Bitcoin prices&nbsp;have gained attention as it has soared to repeated records, most recently touching a recent peak above $58,000 over the weekend before beginning to give up some gains in recent trade.</p>\n<p>Last week, bitcoin hit a market value of $1 trillion and even though the asset created by a person or persons known as Satoshi Nakamoto represents about 70% of the total crypto market, there are still a number of other popular crypto assets trading on Coinbase, including ether&nbsp;on Ethereum’s blockchain, Bitcoin Cash&nbsp;and Litecoin,to name a few.</p>\n<p><b>Who else owns Coinbase?</b></p>\n<p>Venture-capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, is the largest owner of Coinbase, boasting about 25% of Class A shares and14% of Class B. And Marc Andreessen, head of the venture capital outfit, sits on Coinbase’s board.</p>\n<p>Coinbase has an ambitions echo those of Robinhood Markets</p>\n<p>“Coinbase is company with an ambitious vision: to create more economic freedom for every person and business,” Armstrong wrote in a letter appended to the company’s public-filing paperwork with the SEC.</p>\n<p><b>Biggest risk factor</b></p>\n<p>No doubt the biggest risk factor in Coinbase is that it is a bet on an unproven asset class that was created just over a decade ago. Coinbase attempts to make it clear that its fate is linked to the prospects for Bitcoin and ethereum and the thousands of other alternative coins that have been written into existence.</p>\n<p>But a decline in interest and tough regulations in the U.S. and elsewhere could wallop the exchange platform.</p>\n<p>Here’s now Coinbase explains it:</p>\n<p>“<i>There is no assurance that any supported crypto asset will maintain its value or that there will be meaningful levels of trading activities. In the event that the price of crypto assets or the demand for trading crypto assets decline, our business, operating results, and financial condition would be adversely affected. A majority of our net revenue is from transactions in Bitcoin and ethereum. If demand for these crypto assets declines and is not replaced by new demand for crypto assets, our business, operating results, and financial condition could be adversely affected</i>,” Coinbase writes in its S-1 filing.</p>\n<p><b>How large is Coinbase?</b></p>\n<p>The crypto exchange platform ranks No. 3 among the largest digital asset exchanges in the world, according to data site CoinMarketCap.com. That ranking puts it behind Binance, based in Seattle and Huobi Global, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in China.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/183f3996adecd36a47a1b191cf6d3ca6\" tg-width=\"1260\" tg-height=\"453\"><span>COINMARKETCAP.COM</span></p>\n<p>In the U.S. Coinbase is by far the most well-known crypto platform but there are competitors, including Gemini, run by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who famously used their Facebook Inc.&nbsp;settlements to invest in bitcoins.</p>\n<p>Kraken is another popular crypto platform and direct competitor in the U.S.</p>\n<p><b>Odds &amp; Ends</b></p>\n<p>The company in its public filing offered a number of homages to the founder or founders of bitcoin and the digital currency age in its submission.</p>\n<p>For example, it listed the genesis block associated with Satoshi Nakamoto at “1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa,” whose white paper back in 2008 set bitcoin in motion. (Additionally, a “Satoshi” is the smallest unit of bitcoin—0.00000001 BTC).</p>\n<p>The company offers no physical address for its headquarters in California, citing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced a number of companies to have most, if not all, of its staffers work remotely. For that reason, Coinbase refers to itself as “a remote-first company.”</p>\n<p>However, having no address to some was viewed as aligning with the decentralized nature of blockchain and bitcoins.</p>\n<p>The company also offered a handy primer on cryptocurrency terms, including defining terms like “hodl,” which have become popular in crypto circles. Hodl was accidentally coined in a 2013 Reddit&nbsp;and means long-term holder of an investment.</p>\n<p class=\"t-img-caption\"><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/1d3d07b595555c3cb7e307056bde87a6\" tg-width=\"1260\" tg-height=\"348\"><span>SEC</span></p>\n<p><b>Armstrong crypto charity</b></p>\n<p>Back in 2018, Armstrong kicked off GiveCrypto.org, which makes direct cash transfers to people living in poverty.</p>\n<p>“People who invested early in crypto have amassed an enormous amount of wealth in a relatively short amount of time. Luckily for investors, the EV market is far from a zero-sum game and newcomers continue to enter the space. Chinese EV maker NIO is a rising star in the booming market, as its sales continue to grow. The company is also focused on autonomous driving tech, as well as batteries, which are the lifeblood of the industry.</p><p>NIO sells multiple models that are somewhat in-line with Tesla, from smaller SUVs to sedans. The company said in early January that it delivered 17,353 vehicles in the fourth quarter, which marked a 110% jump.</p><p>Overall, NIO’s full-year deliveries surged 113% to nearly 44,000 vehicles in 2020. And its January 2021 figures were even more impressive, with deliveries up 350% from the year-ago period to push its overall cumulative deliveries to 83K.</p><p>With this in mind, Zacks estimates call for NIO’s FY20 revenue to jump 120% to $2.49 billion, with FY21 projected to come in another 97% higher to reach $4.89 billion. The Chinese EV company is also expected to significantly shrink its adjusted losses during this stretch.</p><p>NIO has topped our EPS estimates in the trailing two periods and its positive earnings revisions help it land a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) heading into the release of its Q4 results on March 1.</p><p><img src=\"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5b6233d1784a5cb7db62b437f7632a3f\" tg-width=\"620\" tg-height=\"314\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\"></p><p>NIO, which rocks an “A” grade for Growth in our Style Scores system, has seen its stock skyrocket over 1,000% in the last year and 300% in the past six months. Luckily for investors who missed the ride, NIO has cooled down, up only 12% in the last three months.</p><p>At roughly $55 per share, it’s down about 13% from its late January records. The recent downturn has seen it fall from overbought in terms of the Relative Strength Index to around 45—an RSI above 70 is often regarded as overbought, with any number below 30 considered oversold.</p><p>NIO’s recent price performance could give it room to run if it’s able to impress Wall Street. And the stock jumped over 1% through morning trading Friday, as it bounces off its 50-day moving average. NIO shares also trade at a discount compared to other high-flyers at 12.7X forward sales, which marks a discount against Tesla’s 15.5X and comes in 25% below its own six-months highs.</p><p>Three out of the nine brokerage recommendations that Zacks has for NIO come in at a “Strong Buy,” with none below a “Hold.” NIO might be worth buying as a long-term play that’s far less expensive than Tesla ($784 a share), in a world where EVs already accounted for over 30% of Volvo’s new car sales in Europe in 2020. Many see them as cheap, based on 2019 results. Others see them greatly exceeding those results due to pent-up demand.</p>\n<p>It’s a dream you can feel. Roads are crowded again. Plus, savings rates were high during the pandemic for those who had jobs they could do from home. Much of that money will be spent this year with the economic reopening.</p>\n<p>Travel companies should benefit from both efficiency and rising prices post-pandemic. But which stocks are right for you? For this article, I’ve looked at eight of the best-known names. My views on them vary. Generally, I think the companies that were strongest going in should be stronger coming out. Other companies are speculative and have already had good runs through early 2021.</p>\n<p>But I’m just the writer. You’re the decider. There should be profits coming throughout the sector, but your mileage as an investor will vary with where you decide to put your money.</p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>Southwest Airlines</b>(NYSE:<b><u>LUV</u></b>)</li>\n <li><b>Airbnb</b>(NASDAQ:<b><u>ABNB</u></b>)</li>\n <li><b>Disney</b>(NYSE:<b><u>DIS</u></b>)</li>\n <li><b>Royal Caribbean</b>(NYSE:<b><u>RCL</u></b>)</li>\n <li><b>Delta Air Lines</b>(NYSE:<b><u>DAL</u></b>)</li>\n <li><b>Tripadvisor</b>(NASDAQ:<b><u>TRIP</u></b>)</li>\n <li><b>United Airlines</b>(NASDAQ:<b><u>UAL</u></b>)</li>\n <li><b>Carnival</b>(NYSE:<b><u>CCL</u></b>)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Southwest (LUV):&nbsp; The Strongest Airline</b></p>\n<p>The strongest airline going into the pandemic was&nbsp;<b>Southwest Airlines</b>&nbsp;(NYSE:<b><u>LUV</u></b>). It’s also the strongest one&nbsp;coming out of it.</p>\n<p>But analysts know this. That’s part of why Southwest is also the most expensive airline stock. Its price of about $62 per share today is above where it was before the pandemic hit, before it suspended its 18 cent quarterly dividend.</p>\n<p>LUV stock is strong because, while it added $9 billion in long-term debt to its balance sheet during 2020, it ended the year with $13 billion in cash. It has also already begun&nbsp;calling back pilots&nbsp;for the summer flying season.</p>\n<p>One of the biggest risks in the stock before the pandemic, though, was Southwest’s dependence on&nbsp;<b>Boeing</b>&nbsp;(NYSE:<b><u>BA</u></b>) aircraft, especially the troubled 737-MAX. The company has doubled down on that this year,ordering 100 more&nbsp;of the planes. CEO Gary Kelly says he has&nbsp;complete faith&nbsp;in the aircraft, but some have already been&nbsp;grounded again&nbsp;after Boeing reported electrical problems.</p>\n<p>That said, Southwest is also changing its route structure post-pandemic, focusing on smaller vacation markets like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and&nbsp;dramatically increasing&nbsp;the number of flights to Austin, Texas. It’s this ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions that makes Southwest one of the best reopening stocks to buy for post-pandemic growth.</p>\n<p><b>Is Airbnb (ABNB) the New King of Travel?</b></p>\n<p>Before the pandemic,<b>Booking Holdings</b>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<b><u>BKNG</u></b>), which began life as Priceline, was&nbsp;the unquestioned king&nbsp;of the travel market. However, there’s a new king in the post-pandemic era: Airbnb.</p>\n<p>Airbnb only came public in 2020, but ABNB stock rocketed out of the gate. Shares were offered&nbsp;at $68 each. However, they started trading at $146 on Dec. 10. Since then, they’re up another 21%, even after investors took profit when they briefly rose over $200 per share in February.</p>\n<p>But Airbnb may now be overvalued. Currently, it has a market capitalization of $107 billion on 2020 sales of $3.4 billion. Even if you write that year off, its selling at over 22 times its 2019 revenue of $4.8 billion.</p>\n<p>Airbnb specializes in renting out bedrooms, apartments and personal homes. That’s the promise. But as the company has grown, professionals and investors have moved in. Just 5% of owners now control&nbsp;one-third&nbsp;of all listings. Additionally, some cities are fighting Airbnb. This strict regulation,especially in tourist cities, could dramatically slow its growth.</p>\n<p>Rivals aren’t sitting on their hands, either. Booking has a comparable&nbsp;version&nbsp;of Airbnb and&nbsp;<b>Expedia</b>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<b><u>EXPE</u></b>) is heavily advertising its version, Vrbo. Plus, Airbnb’s new “Experiences” business, which some analysts consider to be a&nbsp;growth catalyst, is a copy of something Tripadvisor&nbsp;has been doing&nbsp;for years.</p>\n<p>It’s possible that this company will keep rising as one of the reopening stocks. It’s also possible it won’t.</p>\n<p><b>Travel Gives Disney (DIS) a Second Stage of Growth</b></p>\n<p>Disney has been a&nbsp;standout during the pandemic. Shares of DIS stock are up 77% over the past one year, thanks mainly to the success of its streaming strategy. It now has&nbsp;some 137 million&nbsp;paying customers across its various streaming services like Hulu, ESPN+ and&nbsp;Disney+.</p>\n<p>Now, it’s possible that travel will add a second stage to Disney’s rocketing success. Before the pandemic, its travel and resorts business represented some 40% of the company’s revenue. Most of that was shut down in early 2020. Now, though, it’s coming back. As it does, revenue should quickly recover from the&nbsp;22% hit&nbsp;Disney suffered in 2020.</p>\n<p>Unfortunately, many analysts think those gains&nbsp;may already be in the stock. Shares were hit by profit-taking in&nbsp;early 2021&nbsp;and now trade below their February highs.</p>\n<p>Still, if you’re looking for long-term value, most analysts still believe in Disney as one of the reopening stocks. Of the 20 analysts following it at&nbsp;<i>Tipranks,</i>17 say&nbsp;it’s a buy.<b>Bank of America</b>&nbsp;(NYSE:<b><u>BAC</u></b>) is especially optimistic, despite the shares now trading for&nbsp;about 135 times&nbsp;levered annual cash flow. It was selling at around 25 times before the pandemic hit.</p>\n<p><b>Royal Caribbean (RCL) Is the Most Investable Cruise Line</b></p>\n<p>During the latter part of the last decade, Royal Caribbean chose to grow its fleet of ships at a sustainable rate. It’s now benefitting from that strategy, becoming the most“investable”of the cruise line stocks. Right now, shares of RCL stock are up 125% for the past one year, as optimism grows for reopening stocks.</p>\n<p>Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity and Silversea cruises as well as its namesake fleet. It completed the purchase of Silversea last year, then sold Azamara, a luxury brand,to private equity. It also took a Spanish line called Pullmantur bankrupt and hopes to relaunch it later this year.</p>\n<p>While the company’s net debt rose 42% during 2020&nbsp;to $16.45 billion, the company had $4.4 billion in cash at the end of December. It’s also loaning $40 million&nbsp;to travel agents&nbsp;to get them through and hopes to return to full U.S. service&nbsp;by November. Meanwhile, pent-up demand is so great that it’s already filling ships in Singapore for“cruises to nowhere.”</p>\n<p><b>Delta (DAL) Has Yet to Regain Its Highs</b></p>\n<p>While Southwest now sells for more than it did before the pandemic, shares of Delta Air Lines&nbsp;remain&nbsp;about 20% below&nbsp;where they were. Today, DAL stock trades for almost $47.</p>\n<p>That’s because, while domestic travel is starting to return to normal and Delta&nbsp;plans on filling its middle seats&nbsp;in May, international travel remains slow. Even domestic travel is running on optimism. About 1.6 million people flew one day&nbsp;in early April. Before the pandemic, back in 2019, that number was well over 2 million on the same day.</p>\n<p>Despite the government’s turning some of its pandemic loans into grants, Delta ended 2020 with&nbsp;$33 billion in long term debt, against assets of $71 billion. Moreover, Delta had an&nbsp;adjusted loss&nbsp;of $3.55 per share for its first-quarter earnings.</p>\n<p>Once Delta has positive free cash flow again,<i>InvestorPlace’s</i>&nbsp;Mark Hake expects the stock to&nbsp;take off. Most analysts don’t, however. Basically, it wants to become the&nbsp;<b>Amazon</b>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<b><u>AMZN</u></b>) of travel.</p>\n<p>That doesn’t mean running the whole travel business. Instead, it means charging customers $99 per year for special discounts and perks on rooms. It calls this&nbsp;new program&nbsp;Tripadvisor Plus.</p>\n<p>This idea could be a win-win-win. Hotels and resorts will get loyal customers at a discount. Customers who sign up will get discounts and perks. And Tripadvisor will get cash for running the program.</p>\n<p>Right now, though, the company badly needs investors to forget 2020, when it lost $2.14 per share on revenue of just $604 million. Rather, it wants them to remember 2019, when the company made $126 million, or 91 cents per share, on&nbsp;revenue of $1.56 billion. Essentially, they want a mulligan for the past year.</p>\n<p>But 2020&nbsp;<i>did happen</i>— and it did substantial financial damage at that. That said, while 2021 should start off slow, results should also rise sharply once the new program’s revenues start coming in. So, if you believe in it’s new program’s pitch, TRIP stock maybe one of the better reopening stocks for you.</p>\n<p><b>Speculators Are Now Betting on United Airlines (UAL)</b></p>\n<p>Investment often reminds me of westward migration; the speculators come in first, then come the investors. Right now, UAL stock is&nbsp;benefitting from speculation.</p>\n<p>While Southwest Airlines has passed its 2020 high and Delta Air Lines&nbsp;is approaching it, United is just halfway back. Its market cap of $18 billion is less than half its 2019 revenue of&nbsp;$43 billion.</p>\n<p>The airline should survive, but it’s going to be a bumpy ride. Analysts expect a&nbsp;first-quarter loss&nbsp;of $6.23 per share. The airline’s bond rating is also&nbsp;below investment grade&nbsp;and its most recent debt issue carried an&nbsp;interest rate&nbsp;of 4.875%. Still, speculators have been rushing in as the airline said it was probably&nbsp;cash flow positive&nbsp;in March.</p>\n<p>Going beyond speculative gains, however, will mean regaining the&nbsp;trust of employees, the government and passengers, which was not helped by an engineblowing out&nbsp;back in February.</p>\n<p>As a result, analysts are divided on United, with only about half of them saying it’s a buy on&nbsp;<i>Tipranks</i>. Even&nbsp;<i>InvestorPlace’s</i>&nbsp;Louis Navellier calls this one of the reopening stocks“a poor way to make money.”</p>\n<p><b>Will Cruising Resume Soon Enough for Carnival (CCL)?</b></p>\n<p>Of all the reopening stocks on this list, CCL stock stands out as&nbsp;a cautionary tale.</p>\n<p>Before the pandemic, Carnival was buying boats with both hands, planning to add&nbsp;22 new liners&nbsp;by 2025. Basically, it was putting all of its cash flow to work.</p>\n<p>Then the music stopped. While based in Miami, Carnival has its legal home in Panama. This made it ineligible for pandemic relief. It was only thanks to the Federal Reserve’s expansion of the money supply that Carnival was able to survive. But the price was steep. One&nbsp;$4 billion bond&nbsp;carries an interest rate of 11.5%, while another $1.75 billion bond is convertible into stock, diluting shareholders.</p>\n<p>Now in April, though, shares are back to around $28 with a market cap of $32 billion after 2019 revenue of $20.8 billion. That’s still less than the&nbsp;$57 billion in assets&nbsp;it carries on the books, mainly in the form of “property and equipment” like its boats.</p>\n<p>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now believes cruising&nbsp;could resume&nbsp;this summer. That should save Carnival the company. Many see them as cheap, based on 2019 results. Others see them greatly exceeding those results due to pent-up demand.\nIt’s a dream you can feel. Roads are crowded again. Plus, savings rates were high during the pandemic for those who had jobs they could do from home. Much of that money will be spent this year with the economic reopening.\nTravel companies should benefit from both efficiency and rising prices post-pandemic. But which stocks are right for you? For this article, I’ve looked at eight of the best-known names. My views on them vary. Generally, I think the companies that were strongest going in should be stronger coming out. Other companies are speculative and have already had good runs through early 2021.\nBut I’m just the writer. You’re the decider. There should be profits coming throughout the sector, but your mileage as an investor will vary with where you decide to put your money.\n\nSouthwest Airlines(NYSE:LUV)\nAirbnb(NASDAQ:ABNB)\nDisney(NYSE:DIS)\nRoyal Caribbean(NYSE:RCL)\nDelta Air Lines(NYSE:DAL)\nTripadvisor(NASDAQ:TRIP)\nUnited Airlines(NASDAQ:UAL)\nCarnival(NYSE:CCL)\n\nSouthwest (LUV):  The Strongest Airline\nThe strongest airline going into the pandemic was Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV). It’s also the strongest one coming out of it.\nBut analysts know this. That’s part of why Southwest is also the most expensive airline stock. Its price of about $62 per share today is above where it was before the pandemic hit, before it suspended its 18 cent quarterly dividend.\nLUV stock is strong because, while it added $9 billion in long-term debt to its balance sheet during 2020, it ended the year with $13 billion in cash. It has also already begun calling back pilots for the summer flying season.\nOne of the biggest risks in the stock before the pandemic, though, was Southwest’s dependence on Boeing (NYSE:BA) aircraft, especially the troubled 737-MAX. The company has doubled down on that this year,ordering 100 more of the planes. CEO Gary Kelly says he has complete faith in the aircraft, but some have already been grounded again after Boeing reported electrical problems.\nThat said, Southwest is also changing its route structure post-pandemic, focusing on smaller vacation markets like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and dramatically increasing the number of flights to Austin, Texas. It’s this ability to respond quickly to changing market conditions that makes Southwest one of the best reopening stocks to buy for post-pandemic growth.\nIs Airbnb (ABNB) the New King of Travel?\nBefore the pandemic,Booking Holdings (NASDAQ:BKNG), which began life as Priceline, was the unquestioned king of the travel market. However, there’s a new king in the post-pandemic era: Airbnb.\nAirbnb only came public in 2020, but ABNB stock rocketed out of the gate. Shares were offered at $68 each. However, they started trading at $146 on Dec. 10. Since then, they’re up another 21%, even after investors took profit when they briefly rose over $200 per share in February.\nBut Airbnb may now be overvalued. Currently, it has a market capitalization of $107 billion on 2020 sales of $3.4 billion. Even if you write that year off, its selling at over 22 times its 2019 revenue of $4.8 billion.\nAirbnb specializes in renting out bedrooms, apartments and personal homes. That’s the promise. But as the company has grown, professionals and investors have moved in. Just 5% of owners now control one-third of all listings. Additionally, some cities are fighting Airbnb. This strict regulation,especially in tourist cities, could dramatically slow its growth.\nRivals aren’t sitting on their hands, either. Booking has a comparable version of Airbnb and Expedia (NASDAQ:EXPE) is heavily advertising its version, Vrbo. Plus, Airbnb’s new “Experiences” business, which some analysts consider to be a growth catalyst, is a copy of something Tripadvisor has been doing for years.\nIt’s possible that this company will keep rising as one of the reopening stocks. It’s also possible it won’t.\nTravel Gives Disney (DIS) a Second Stage of Growth\nDisney has been a standout during the pandemic. Shares of DIS stock are up 77% over the past one year, thanks mainly to the success of its streaming strategy. It now has some 137 million paying customers across its various streaming services like Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+.\nNow, it’s possible that travel will add a second stage to Disney’s rocketing success. Before the pandemic, its travel and resorts business represented some 40% of the company’s revenue. Most of that was shut down in early 2020. Now, though, it’s coming back. As it does, revenue should quickly recover from the 22% hit Disney suffered in 2020.\nUnfortunately, many analysts think those gains may already be in the stock. Shares were hit by profit-taking in early 2021 and now trade below their February highs.\nStill, if you’re looking for long-term value, most analysts still believe in Disney as one of the reopening stocks. Of the 20 analysts following it at Tipranks,17 say it’s a buy.Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) is especially optimistic, despite the shares now trading for about 135 times levered annual cash flow. It was selling at around 25 times before the pandemic hit.\nRoyal Caribbean (RCL) Is the Most Investable Cruise Line\nDuring the latter part of the last decade, Royal Caribbean chose to grow its fleet of ships at a sustainable rate. It’s now benefitting from that strategy, becoming the most“investable”of the cruise line stocks. Right now, shares of RCL stock are up 125% for the past one year, as optimism grows for reopening stocks.\nRoyal Caribbean owns Celebrity and Silversea cruises as well as its namesake fleet. It completed the purchase of Silversea last year, then sold Azamara, a luxury brand,to private equity. It also took a Spanish line called Pullmantur bankrupt and hopes to relaunch it later this year.\nWhile the company’s net debt rose 42% during 2020 to $16.45 billion, the company had $4.4 billion in cash at the end of December. It’s also loaning $40 million to travel agents to get them through and hopes to return to full U.S. service by November. Meanwhile, pent-up demand is so great that it’s already filling ships in Singapore for“cruises to nowhere.”\nDelta (DAL) Has Yet to Regain Its Highs\nWhile Southwest now sells for more than it did before the pandemic, shares of Delta Air Lines remain about 20% below where they were. Today, DAL stock trades for almost $47.\nThat’s because, while domestic travel is starting to return to normal and Delta plans on filling its middle seats in May, international travel remains slow. Even domestic travel is running on optimism. About 1.6 million people flew one day in early April. Before the pandemic, back in 2019, that number was well over 2 million on the same day.\nDespite the government’s turning some of its pandemic loans into grants, Delta ended 2020 with $33 billion in long term debt, against assets of $71 billion. Moreover, Delta had an adjusted loss of $3.55 per share for its first-quarter earnings.\nOnce Delta has positive free cash flow again,InvestorPlace’s Mark Hake expects the stock to take off.
