The S&P 500 dipped 0.75% to 4,327.16 and the Nasdaq Composite shed 0.8% to 14,427.24.\nThe three averages closed the week lower to each snap 3-week win streaks. The Dow ended the week down 0.52%, while the S&P 500 dipped 0.97% and the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.87% during the same period.\n\nA U.S.consumer sentimentindex from the University of Michigan came in at 80.8 for the first half of July, down from 85.5 last month and worse than estimates from economists, who projected an increase. The report released Friday showed inflation expectations rising, with consumers believing prices will increase 4.8% in the next year, the highest level since August 2008.\nThe Dow gave up its gains early Friday shortly after the University of Michigan report came out 30 minutes into the session. Losses increased as the day went on with major averages closing at the lows of the session.\nThe consumer sentiment weakness “is at face value hard to square with the acceleration in employment growth and the continued resilience of the stock market,” said Andrew Hunter, senior U.S. economist at Capital Economics, but the report “suggested that concerns over surging inflation are now outweighing those positive trends.”\nInflation fears\nThe market was held back all week by inflation fears although the S&P 500 and Dow did touch new all-time highs briefly. On Tuesday, theconsumer price indexshowed a 5.4% increase in June from a year ago, the fastest pace in nearly 13 years.\nStocks got off to a good start Friday with the Dow rising more than 100 points to above 35,000 shortly after the open.Data released before the bell showed retail and food service salesrose 0.6% in June, while economists surveyed by Dow Jones had expected a 0.4% decline. If that level held, it would have been the Dow’s first close ever above 35,000.\nDespite the week’s losses, the Dow is still up 13% for the year and sits just 1.15% from an all-time high. The S&P 500 is up 15% on the year and is 1.51% below its record level.\n“The market looks broadly fairly valued to me, with most stocks priced to provide a market rate of return plus or minus a few percent,” Bill Miller, chairman and chief investment officer of Miller Value Partners, said in an investor letter.\n“There are pockets of what look like appreciable over-valuation and pockets of significant undervaluation in the US market, in my opinion. We can find plenty of names to fill our portfolios and so remain fully invested,” the value investor added.\nEnergy correction\nEnergy stocks, the hottest part of the market in 2021, fell into correction territory on Friday as oil prices pulled back from their highs.\nThe Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund fell more than 2% on Friday, the worst of any group, dropping 14% from its high. Still, the sector is up about 28% in 2021, making it the top performer of any of the 11 main industry groups.\nWeaker performance from technology stocks also weighed on the market Friday. Shares of Apple closed 1.4% lower afternotching a record closejust two days prior. Netflix shares fell ahead of the streaming giant’s second-quarter earnings report next week.\nInvestors digested strong earnings results from the first major week of second-quarter reports. Though some of the nation’s largest companies posted healthy earnings and revenues amid the economic recovery, the reaction in the stock market has so far been muted.\nThe Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund ended the week 1.5% lower despite big profit growth numbers posted by the likes of JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America.\n“Good earnings might have become an excuse for some investors to take profit. And with earnings expectations so high in general, it takes a really big beat for a company to impress,” JJ Kinahan, TD Ameritrade chief market strategist, said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":175,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":144086889,"gmtCreate":1626253658541,"gmtModify":1633928608705,"author":{"id":"3574980150965538","authorId":"3574980150965538","name":"真的钻石手","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/394063a289e727c8c5c2734207c9aabd","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574980150965538","authorIdStr":"3574980150965538"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Comment and like ","listText":"Comment and like ","text":"Comment and like","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/144086889","repostId":"2151059033","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":153,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":145707161,"gmtCreate":1626243148453,"gmtModify":1631888657813,"author":{"id":"3574980150965538","authorId":"3574980150965538","name":"真的钻石手","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/394063a289e727c8c5c2734207c9aabd","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574980150965538","authorIdStr":"3574980150965538"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Power","listText":"Power","text":"Power","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/145707161","repostId":"2151560584","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":297,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":157052337,"gmtCreate":1625557065029,"gmtModify":1633939684517,"author":{"id":"3574980150965538","authorId":"3574980150965538","name":"真的钻石手","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/394063a289e727c8c5c2734207c9aabd","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574980150965538","authorIdStr":"3574980150965538"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like when comment Thank you! 😁 [Miser] [Miser] ","listText":"Like when comment Thank you! 😁 [Miser] [Miser] ","text":"Like when comment Thank you! 😁 [Miser] [Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/157052337","repostId":"2149033827","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":202,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":155278404,"gmtCreate":1625442891308,"gmtModify":1633940738896,"author":{"id":"3574980150965538","authorId":"3574980150965538","name":"真的钻石手","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/394063a289e727c8c5c2734207c9aabd","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574980150965538","authorIdStr":"3574980150965538"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Help like and comment thanks ","listText":"Help like and comment thanks ","text":"Help like and comment thanks","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/155278404","repostId":"1169840279","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":329,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":106956718,"gmtCreate":1620085777934,"gmtModify":1634208009589,"author":{"id":"3574980150965538","authorId":"3574980150965538","name":"真的钻石手","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/394063a289e727c8c5c2734207c9aabd","crmLevel":9,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3574980150965538","authorIdStr":"3574980150965538"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Like and comment thank you ☺️😬😬[Miser] [Miser] ","listText":"Like and comment thank you ☺️😬😬[Miser] [Miser] ","text":"Like and comment thank you ☺️😬😬[Miser] [Miser]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":2,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":10,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/106956718","repostId":"1135819410","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1135819410","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1619999342,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1135819410?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-03 07:49","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Uber, Pfizer, PayPal, T-Mobile, ViacomCBS, General Motors, and Other Stocks for Investors to Watch This Week","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1135819410","media":"Barrons","summary":"It’s another packed week of earnings reports, with 130 S&P 500 companies on deck to release their fi","content":"
It’s another packed week of earnings reports, with 130 S&P 500 companies on deck to release their first-quarter results. Given the massive move since the market lows of March 2020, many investors sense that it is time to move to stocks that still have growth potential going forward but also pay a solid dividend. Despite some hand wringing over higher interest rates, they remain near generational lows across the board.

We decided to screen the Goldman Sachs Americas Conviction List, which is a collection of the top equity ideas at the firm, looking for stocks that paid a solid and dependable dividend that was higher than the S&P 500 yield of 1.45% and the 30-year U.S. Treasury bond of 2.23%.

We found five that look like outstanding total return ideas now, and all are positioned well for the rest of 2021 and beyond. It is important to remember that no single analyst report should be used as a sole basis for any buying or selling decision.

Bristol Myers Squibb

This remains a solid pharmaceutical stock to own long term and offers among the best values now for investors. Bristol Myers Squibb Co. (NYSE: BMY) is a global pharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, licensing and marketing chemically synthesized drugs or small molecules and biologics in various therapeutic areas, including virology comprising human immunodeficiency virus infection (HIV), oncology, neuroscience, immunoscience and cardiovascular.

The company’s products include the following:

Opdivo for anti-cancer indications

Eliquis, an oral inhibitor targeted at stroke prevention in adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, and the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolic disorders

Orencia for adult patients with active RA and prostate-specific antigen, as well as reducing signs and symptoms in pediatric patients with active polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Shareholders receive a 3.04% dividend. Goldman Sachs has a massive $90 price target on the shares, while the Wall Street consensus target is $75.13. Bristol Myers Squibb stock closed trading on Thursday at $64.46 per share.

Marathon Petroleum

This is a solid way for investors who are more conservative to play the energy sector, which may still have some serious upside potential. Marathon Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: MPC) is one of the largest independent petroleum refining and marketing companies in the United States.

Until just recently, Marathon Petroleum operated approximately 2,750 retail sites under the Marathon and Speedway brands. In addition, it operates a logistics network of pipelines, barges, trucks and terminals that store and transport crude and products.

Last year, the company announced it would sell Speedway to 7-11 in an all-cash deal valued at $21 billion, or $16.5 billion after-tax. The sale transforms the company’s balance sheet and creates options to revisit the corporate structure of MPLX. Many on Wall Street feel that with Speedway removed, the dislocation in refining value becomes even more transparent as the company trades much cheaper than its industry peers do. The deal now is expected to close in this quarter.

Investors in Marathon Petroleum stock receive a 3.90% dividend. The Goldman Sachs price target is $66. The consensus target is just $46.27, but the shares closed most recently at $59.46 apiece.

PepsiCo

This top consumer staples stock fits the bill for worried investors. PepsiCo Inc. (NYSE: PEP) operates as a food and beverage company worldwide. Its Frito-Lay North America segment offers Lay’s and Ruffles potato chips; Doritos, Tostitos and Santitas tortilla chips; and Cheetos cheese-flavored snacks, branded dips and Fritos corn chips.

The Quaker Foods North America segment provides Quaker oatmeal, grits, rice cakes, natural granola and oat squares, as well as the recently renamed Aunt Jemima mixes and syrups, and Quaker Chewy granola bars, Cap’n Crunch cereal, Life cereal and Rice-A-Roni side dishes.

Pepsi’s North America Beverages segment offers beverage concentrates, fountain syrups and finished goods under the Pepsi, Gatorade, Mountain Dew, Diet Pepsi, Aquafina, Tropicana Pure Premium, Sierra Mist and Mug brands, as well as ready-to-drink tea and coffee, and juices.

Shareholders receive a 2.95% dividend. The $160 Goldman Sachs price target is above the $152.09 consensus target. PepsiCo stock closed at $145.55 a share on Thursday.

Realty Income

This is an ideal midcap stock for growth and income investors looking for a safer idea for the rest of 2021. Realty Income Corp. (NYSE: O) is an S&P 500 company dedicated to providing stockholders with dependable monthly income. The company is structured as a real estate investment trust (REIT), and its monthly dividends are supported by the cash flow from over 6,500 real estate properties owned under long-term lease agreements with commercial tenants.

To date, the company has declared 604 consecutive common stock monthly dividends throughout its 51-year operating history and increased the dividend 108 times since its public listing in 1994, and it is a member of the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats index.

Investors receive a 4.17% distribution. Goldman Sachs has set its target price on Realty Income stock at $84. That compares with the much lower $69.53 consensus figure and the $67.55 close on Thursday.

Verizon Communications

Shares of this top telecommunications company offer tremendous value at current levels. Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) is one of the largest U.S. telecom companies. It provides wireless and wireline service to retail, enterprise and wholesale customers.

The company’s wireless network serves approximately 120 million mobile connections with 115 million postpaid subscribers. Verizon’s wireline business has undergone a period of secular decline due to wireless substitution and cable competition.

Verizon acquired AOL and Yahoo to create the Oath digital content platform, which the company recently sold at a sizable loss to Apollo Global Management for $5 billion The sale allows Verizon to offload properties from the former internet empires, though it will keep a 10% stake in the company and it will be rebranded to just Yahoo.

Verizon also provides converged communications, information and entertainment services over America’s most advanced fiber-optic network, and it delivers integrated business solutions to customers worldwide.

Investors receive an outstanding 4.23% dividend. The Goldman Sachs price objective is $64. The posted consensus price target for Verizon Communications stock is $60.94. The shares ended Thursday’s trading session changing hands at $59.29 apiece.

The bottom line is that, by any measure, the stock market is overbought, expensive and long due for a breather. That probably means more than a one- or two-day 3% decline. With that noted, there are very few alternatives for those that need some growth and, most importantly, consistent and dependable income. These five stock all supply both and make sense for growth and income investors.
","source":"lsy1620372341666","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
5 Goldman Sachs Conviction List Growth Stocks to Buy Also Pay Big Dividends
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n5 Goldman Sachs Conviction List Growth Stocks to Buy Also Pay Big Dividends\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-05-08 10:30 GMT+8 24/7 wall street\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
As the aging bull market presses ahead, it is pretty easy to see there has been a big rotation out of growth and momentum stocks and into value and cyclical ones. Lizzie Borden was acquitted of the ax murders of her father and stepmother. A fresh, one-pound beef steak cost 10 cents.
\n
Panic Of 1893:On May 5, 1893, the Dow Jones Index dropped more than 24% from 39.90 to 30.02. It would mark the worst intraday sell-off in U.S. history at the time, a record that would stand until 1929.
\n
The Panic of 1893 was triggered in part by falling gold reserves in the U.S. Treasury. At the time, the U.S. was on the gold standard, meaning U.S. dollars could be redeemed for physical gold. When Treasury gold reserves dropped from $190 million in 1890 to $100 million by 1893, Americans grew concerned that the Treasury might run out of gold and began withdrawing bank notes and converting them to gold, placing extreme strain on the U.S. banking industry and credit markets.
\n
The May 5 sell-off was triggered in part by the bankruptcy of Nation Cordage the day before.General Electric CompanyGE 0.34%shares dropped 28% on the day from $80 to $58.
\n
Fortunately for investors, the Panic of 1893 didn’t last for long. By the end of the day, the market nearly completely recovered its losses. Lizzie Borden was acquitted of the ax murders of her father and stepmother. A fresh, one-pound beef steak cost 10 cents.\nPanic Of 1893:On May 5, 1893, the Dow Jones Index dropped more than 24% from 39.90 to 30.02. It would mark the worst intraday sell-off in U.S. history at the time, a record that would stand until 1929.\nThe Panic of 1893 was triggered in part by falling gold reserves in the U.S. Treasury. At the time, the U.S. was on the gold standard, meaning U.S. dollars could be redeemed for physical gold. When Treasury gold reserves dropped from $190 million in 1890 to $100 million by 1893, Americans grew concerned that the Treasury might run out of gold and began withdrawing bank notes and converting them to gold, placing extreme strain on the U.S. banking industry and credit markets.\nThe May 5 sell-off was triggered in part by the bankruptcy of Nation Cordage the day before.General Electric CompanyGE 0.34%shares dropped 28% on the day from $80 to $58.\nFortunately for investors, the Panic of 1893 didn’t last for long. By the end of the day, the market nearly completely recovered its losses. GE, for example, closed the session at $78.50.\nThe Panic of 1893 would ravage the U.S. economy, triggering a severe four-year depression. Roughly 14,000 U.S. businesses closed, and unemployment rose to 20%. The event would mark the worst economic downturn in U.S. history until the Great Depression began in
