This compares to loss of $0.04 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 75%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this work messaging service would post a loss of $0.05 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.01, delivering a surprise of 120%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates four times.

Slack, which belongs to the Zacks Technology Services industry, posted revenues of $250.6 million for the quarter ended January 2021, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to year-ago revenues of $181.9 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters.

The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.

Slack shares have lost about 4.7% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 1.7%.

What's Next for Slack?

While Slack has underperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock?

There are no easy answers to this key question, but one reliable measure that can help investors address this is the company's earnings outlook. Not only does this include current consensus earnings expectations for the coming quarter(s), but also how these expectations have changed lately.

Empirical research shows a strong correlation between near-term stock movements and trends in earnings estimate revisions. Investors can track such revisions by themselves or rely on a tried-and-tested rating tool like the Zacks Rank, which has an impressive track record of harnessing the power of earnings estimate revisions.

Ahead of this earnings release, the estimate revisions trend for Slack was mixed. While the magnitude and direction of estimate revisions could change following the company's just-released earnings report, the current status translates into a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for the stock. So, the shares are expected to perform in line with the market in the near future. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

It will be interesting to see how estimates for the coming quarters and current fiscal year change in the days ahead. The current consensus EPS estimate is -$0.03 on $257.41 million in revenues for the coming quarter and -$0.10 on $1.14 billion in revenues for the current fiscal year.

Investors should be mindful of the fact that the outlook for the industry can have a material impact on the performance of the stock as well. In terms of the Zacks Industry Rank, Technology Services is currently in the bottom 19% of the 250 plus Zacks industries. This compares to loss of $0.04 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items. This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 75%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this work messaging service would post a loss of $0.05 per share when it actually produced earnings of $0.01, delivering a surprise of 120%.Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates four times.Slack, which belongs to the Zacks Technology Services industry, posted revenues of $250.6 million for the quarter ended January 2021, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to year-ago revenues of $181.9 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates three times over the last four quarters. The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future earnings expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.Slack shares have lost about 4.7% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 1.7%.What's Next for Slack? While Slack has underperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock? There are no easy answers to this key question, but one reliable measure that can help investors address this is the company's earnings outlook. Not only does this include current consensus earnings expectations for the coming quarter(s), but also how these expectations have changed lately.Empirical research shows a strong correlation between near-term stock movements and trends in earnings estimate revisions. Investors can track such revisions by themselves or rely on a tried-and-tested rating tool like the Zacks Rank, which has an impressive track record of harnessing the power of earnings estimate revisions.Ahead of this earnings release, the estimate revisions trend for Slack was mixed. While the magnitude and direction of estimate revisions could change following the company's just-released earnings report, the current status translates into a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) for the stock. So, the shares are expected to perform in line with the market in the near future. You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.It will be interesting to see how estimates for the coming quarters and current fiscal year change in the days ahead. The current consensus EPS estimate is -$0.03 on $257.41 million in revenues for the coming quarter and -$0.10 on $1.14 billion in revenues for the current fiscal year.Investors should be mindful of the fact that the outlook for the industry can have a material impact on the performance of the stock as well. In terms of the Zacks Industry Rank, Technology Services is currently in the bottom 19% of the 250 plus Zacks industries. The offering could raise at least US$3.5 billion (S$4.68 billion), Bloomberg News has reported.\nA representative for the company declined to comment. Shares in Baidu fell 6.2 per cent in the US on Thursday (March 4) amid a selloff in technology stocks.\nBaidu follows online car-sales website Autohome in seeking a trading foothold in the Asian financial hub this year, after a wave of such share sales in 2020 which saw some US$17 billion raised. Other companies looking at selling shares in the city include Tencent Music Entertainment Group and video company Bilibili.\nA wave of US-listed Chinese firms have been listing in Hong Kong since Alibaba Group Holding kicked off the trend in late 2019. Deteriorating relations between the world's two biggest economies have risked threatening Chinese companies' access to America's capital markets. The second listings also enable the companies to expand their investor bases closer to their home markets.\nOnce one of China's big three tech leaders alongside Alibaba and Tencent Holdings, Baidu is now playing catch-up as the country's internet users increasingly shift from desktop to mobile. It began years ago to sink billions of dollars into areas from language learning to voice interaction and autonomous driving, betting on smart devices and vehicles of the future. But that endeavour ran into trouble in the initial stages, capped by the departures of several pivotal executives.\nNow, aided by steady investment in R&D and Beijing's focus on developing smart nationwide infrastructure, commercialization cases are finally coming to the fore: in January, the company announced it's teaming up with Zhejiang Geely Holding Group to produce smart electric vehicles. The tie-up is intended to help Baidu deploy its Apollo self-driving tech in more vehicles, a person familiar with the matter has said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":549,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":364165240,"gmtCreate":1614824527880,"gmtModify":1703481610480,"author":{"id":"3574247971218328","authorId":"3574247971218328","name":"4cbfc768","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[财迷] //@Mayonis: Great","listText":"[财迷] //@Mayonis: Great","text":"[财迷] //@Mayonis: Great","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/364165240","repostId":"1136603709","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1136603709","pubTimestamp":1614763912,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1136603709?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-03 17:31","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Bitcoin Rebounds Back to $50,000 as Risk Appetite Returns","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1136603709","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- Bitcoin climbed to a one-week high as risk appetite in markets returned and investors","content":"
(Bloomberg) -- Bitcoin climbed to a one-week high as risk appetite in markets returned and investors considered the regulatory issues facing cryptocurrencies.

The digital token climbed 7% to trade above $50,000 in early London trading. S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures declined 0.3% and 0.5%, respectively.\nStocks posted heavy losses during regular trading as rising bond yields spooked investors. The S&P 500 dipped 1.3%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 119 points, or 0.38%, lower. The Nasdaq Composite was the relative underperformer, falling 2.7% as tech names declined. The index is on track to post its third straight negative week — the longest weekly losing streak since September.\nThe weakness came as the 10-year Treasury yield extended gains. The benchmark rate climbed to a high of 1.49% on Wednesday before retreating slightly. Last week, the yield surged to a high of 1.6% in a move that some described as a \"flash\" spike.\n\"Our current strategy work suggests robust economic growth this year with a modest increase in inflation,\" noted Scott Wren, senior global equity strategist at Wells Fargo Investment Institute. \"In attempting to read the tea leaves, the steepening of the yield curve, in our opinion, reflects the market's belief that growth and inflation should continue to move back toward appropriate levels as the pandemic eases. We view this as a positive for stocks and other risk assets, like commodities,\" he added.\nDuring Wednesday's session, one bright spot was companies tied to the economy's reopening. Shares of airline and cruise line operators advanced after President Joe Biden said Tuesday that the U.S. will have enough Covid-19 vaccines for all adults by the end of May.\nAdditional stimulus measures could also inject optimism into the market. The Senate is currently debating the $1.9 trillion relief packagepassed by the House on Saturday.\n\"Our macro team sees the economy as spring loaded given the vaccinations and additional stimulus,\" Keith Lerner, Truist chief market strategist, wrote in a note to clients. \"The ability and desire of the consumer to spend on services and experiences should lead to the best economic growth we have seen in over 35 years.\"\nOn Thursday investors will get another look at the ongoing economic recovery when first-time jobless claims data for the week ending Feb. 27 is released. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones are forecasting 750,000 first-time filers.\nOn the earnings front,BJ's WholesaleandKrogerare among the names reporting before the open, whileBroadcom,CostcoandGapare on deck to provide quarterly updates after the closing bell.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":494,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":365672853,"gmtCreate":1614740004372,"gmtModify":1703480517110,"author":{"id":"3574247971218328","authorId":"3574247971218328","name":"4cbfc768","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[财迷] ","listText":"[财迷] ","text":"[财迷]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/365672853","repostId":"2116519632","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2116519632","pubTimestamp":1614735670,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2116519632?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-03 09:41","market":"us","language":"en","title":"U.S. gaming platform Roblox sees revenue doubling in first quarter","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2116519632","media":"Reuters","summary":"(Reuters) - Roblox Corp expects its revenue to double in the first quarter of 2021, the company said","content":"
(Reuters) - Roblox Corp expects its revenue to double in the first quarter of 2021, the company said on Tuesday, ahead of a high-profile market debut later this month.
\n
The company sees first-quarter revenue to be in a range of $320 million through $335 million. Advocates argue it is a better to way to price new stock than an IPO.\nRoblox will join a list of high-profile companies like Palantir Technologies Inc and Spotify Technology SA which also pursued the direct listing route to public markets.\nFor the full year ending Dec. 31, 2021, the company sees revenue between $1.44 billion and $1.52 billion.\nIn January, Reuters reported the company had postponed plans to go public because of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's scrutiny of how it recognizes revenue in its finances.\n(Reporting by Niket Nishant in Bengaluru; Editing by Uttaresh.V and Christopher Cushing)","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":247,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":362491429,"gmtCreate":1614654724361,"gmtModify":1703479417348,"author":{"id":"3574247971218328","authorId":"3574247971218328","name":"4cbfc768","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[财迷] ","listText":"[财迷] ","text":"[财迷]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/362491429","repostId":"2116550861","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":171,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":362996552,"gmtCreate":1614583694576,"gmtModify":1703478460166,"author":{"id":"3574247971218328","authorId":"3574247971218328","name":"4cbfc768","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[微笑] ","listText":"[微笑] ","text":"[微笑]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/362996552","repostId":"2116653810","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":407,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":367386966,"gmtCreate":1614910560755,"gmtModify":1703482855450,"author":{"id":"3574247971218328","authorId":"3574247971218328","name":"4cbfc768","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[冷漠] ","listText":"[冷漠] ","text":"[冷漠]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/367386966","repostId":"2117500955","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":549,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":320684583,"gmtCreate":1615093145242,"gmtModify":1703484686542,"author":{"id":"3574247971218328","authorId":"3574247971218328","name":"4cbfc768","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[微笑] ","listText":"[微笑] ","text":"[微笑]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/320684583","repostId":"1100698985","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":846,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":326818870,"gmtCreate":1615611504590,"gmtModify":1703491627451,"author":{"id":"3574247971218328","authorId":"3574247971218328","name":"4cbfc768","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"[微笑] ","listText":"[微笑] ","text":"[微笑]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/326818870","repostId":"1100128328","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1100128328","pubTimestamp":1615563404,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1100128328?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-12 23:36","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Tesla Stock Is Down. marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, led the television honors at Hollywood's Golden Globe awards on Sunday.

\"The Crown\" was named best TV drama, one of four awards in total, including best actress for Emma Corrin, who played the young Diana struggling to adapt to life in the royal family.

\"Most of all, thank you so much to Diana,\" a surprised Corrin said as she accepted her award at the largely virtual ceremony via video. \"You have taught me compassion and empathy beyond any measure that I could ever imagine.\"

Josh O'Connor, who played Prince Charles, won best drama actor, and Gillian Anderson was named best supporting drama actress for her turn as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Feel-good comedy \"Schitt's Creek\" landed the Golden Globes trophy for best TV comedy series, along with best comedy actress for Catherine O'Hara. And Netflix's \"The Queen's Gambit,\" about a female chess champion battling drug and alcohol addiction, won best limited series and best actress for Anya Taylor-Joy.

In total, Netflix topped all distributors with six television honors and four movie awards at the Golden Globes, the annual accolades handed out by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association .

The television competition was heated this year as streaming TV emerged as a main source of entertainment in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic forced movie theaters to close and kept many people largely confined to their homes.

\"Schitt's Creek\" found new viewers in its sixth and final season. The show aired on small U.S. cable network Pop TV, owned by ViacomCBS Inc , and Canada's CBC, and the series gained widespread buzz as audiences discovered older episodes on Netflix.

The show created by father-and-son team Eugene and Dan Levy tells the story of a once-wealthy family who lose everything and are forced to move to a small town called Schitt's Creek they had bought as a joke. Local residents welcome them and turn out to celebrate a gay wedding in the final episode.

\"This acknowledgement is a lovely vote of confidence in the messages 'Schitt's Creek' has come to stand for: the idea that inclusion can bring about growth and love to a community,\" Dan Levy said as he accepted the comedy award.

Among other TV awards, Jason Sudeikis was named best comedy actor for playing a charming American who coaches an English soccer team in \"Ted Lasso\" on Apple TV+ .

(Reporting by Lisa Richwine;
