XPEV.

Here are highlights from Monday’s Analyst Blog:Chinese Auto Sales on Fast Track - Will It Hit a Speed Bump?

Vehicle sales in China for the month of March soared for the 12th straight month to 2.53 million units, per the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (“CAAM”). Sales spiked 75% from the corresponding period of 2020, when the country’s vehicle demand was badly hit by coronavirus woes.

Digging Into Sales Numbers

For the first quarter of 2021, sales surged 76% year over year to top 6.48 million units. The massive jump was due to lower severity of COVID-19 impacts, which crimped showroom traffic in the comparable year-ago quarter.

In fact, automakers in China suffered their bleakest ever quarter in the January-March 2020 period. However, thanks to supportive government policies, gradual reopening of economic activities and pent-up vehicle demand, China is now at the forefront of global auto market recovery.

Deliveries of new light vehicles including sport utility vehicles, sedans and multi-purpose vehicles grew 77% to exceed 1.87 million units in March 2021. Deliveries of commercial vehicles including pickups and buses rose 68% year over year to 651,000 units. Electric vehicle sales jumped a whopping 240% year over year to 226,000 units.

New light vehicle deliveries in first-quarter 2021 climbed 75% from the comparable year-ago period to 5.08 million units. Sales of commercial vehicles and EVs spiked 77% and 280% to 1.41 million units and 515,000 units, respectively, on a year-over-year basis.

China EV Market on Fire, Competition Revs Up

Demand for new energy vehicles (NEVs) has been on the rise amid climate change concerns and favorable government policies. Importantly, the country projects electric vehicles (EVs) to account for 25% of new car sales by 2025.

Last April, the government of China announced plans to extend subsidies and tax breaks for NEVs such as electric or plug-in hybrid cars for another two years to spur sales. Buoyed by favorable government policies and improving consumer confidence and economy, China — world’s largest EV market — is seeing solid sales of zero-emission vehicles.

China-based EV makers includingBYD Co,NIO,Li AutoandXPengregistered strong EV sales last month. Warren Buffett-backed BYD sold 24,218 EVs in March, representing a year-over-year jump of 97.6%.

NIO — which currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) — delivered 7,257 EVs last month, skyrocketing 373% year over year. EV makers Li Auto and XPeng delivered 4,900 and 5,102 vehicles, up a whopping 238.6% and 384%, respectively, on a year-over-year basis. You can seethe complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank (Strong Buy) stocks here.

Foreign carmakers includingTesla,GMandFordare also registering strong sales and actively ramping up operations in the country. Per China Passenger Car Association, EV behemoth Tesla sold 35,478 China-made cars last month. The company commands a huge market share in the EV market of China, thanks to robust production from the Shanghai Gigafactory.

Overall vehicle sales by Ford and General Motors in China witnessed a year-over-year rally of 73% and 69%, respectively, for first-quarter 2021. General Motors is speeding up the development of advanced technologies in China to enable an all-electric future.

The company’s next-generation EVs (across all brands) in China will be powered by Ultium Drive. It should be noted that the Cadillac LYRIQ SUV would be the first Ultium-powered vehicle to be rolled out in China at Auto Shanghai 2021 later this month.

Importantly, Sales of Hong Guang mini-EV — under General Motors’ Wuling brand — exceeded 72,000 units in first-quarter 2021, retaining its position as the best-selling green vehicle in the country. Meanwhile, Ford is set to manufacture its electric Mustang Mach-E in China with its joint venture Changan Ford.

Amid soaring demand, competition is heating up in the China EV market. Even with the subsidies ending in 2022, the e-mobility battle in China is getting fiercer by the day with new upstarts, legacy automakers and tech titans foraying into the space.

A few days back, China’s leading smartphone maker Xiaomi announced that it is set to invest $10 billion in the development of EVs over the next 10 years. The company intends to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary with an initial investment of around $1.5 billion.

Ride-hailing platform Didi Chuxing has also launched an EV unit and collaborated with BYD to develop EVs designed for its services. Telecom equipment giant Huawei Technology also aims to launch electric cars under its brand and may roll out a couple of models this year. Search engine behemoth Baidu also announced plans to launch an electric car business in January.

Chip Deficit to Play Spoilsport

While China’s vehicle sales have rebounded quite strongly, will the recovery sustain amid the global chip crunch? Well, CAAM has already warned that the chip shortage is set to adversely impact auto production in the nation in second-quarter 2021. The agency does not expect the shortfall to ease until the fourth quarter of this year.

Although China is the largest auto market, it depends heavily on chip imports and is the largest buyer of semiconductors. Amid the chip shortfall, carmakers are scrambling to procure semiconductors, which are forcing them to undergo production cuts and idle factories. NIO shuttered operations for five days beginning Mar 29 due to microchip shortfall. Volvo Cars, owned by Geely Holdings, also halted production last month. In the absence of a quick solution to this chip problem, auto industry recovery in China may soon be losing steam.

These Stocks Are Poised to Soar Past the Pandemic

The COVID-19 outbreak has shifted consumer behavior dramatically, and a handful of high-tech companies have stepped up to keep America running. Right now, investors in these companies have a shot at serious profits. For example, Zoom jumped 108.5% in less than 4 months while most other stocks were sinking.

Our research shows that 5 cutting-edge stocks could skyrocket from the exponential increase in demand for “stay at home” technologies. This could be one of the biggest buying opportunities of this decade, especially for those who get in early.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Chinese electric vehicle stocks fell sharply
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nChinese electric vehicle stocks fell sharply\n
\n\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n
\n
Tiger Newspress
\n
2021-04-15 22:09
\n
\n\n\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
(April 15) Chinese electric vehicle stocks fell sharply. As yields moved up, stocks, particularly high-multiple megacap stocks, moved down. If yields dropped, tech rallied.\nThat relationship has broken down.\nYields have been down three days in a row, yet tech did not react.\nMegacap tech like Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Micron, and Xilinx were down 1.5% to 3%.\nMore importantly, the market's favoritehigh-growth names got clobbered.\nWood'sARK Innovation Fund (ARKK), a bellwether for the big-growth tech crowd, was down 5% and is now 28% off the 52-week high it hit on February 16, which is just when interest rates starting moving up.\nArk Innovation Fund on Wednesday\n(largest holdings)\n\nCrispr down 9%\nBaidu down 9%\nZoom down 7%\nRokudown 7%\nTeladoc down 6%.\n\n\"You'd think with all this stimulus, money would be pouring into Cathie Wood [funds], and it's just not happening,\" Josh Brown, CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, said on CNBC.\n Are retail traders losing interest?\nOne major surprise has been a pullback in volume. The NYSE volume was 80% of the 30-day average, Nasdaq activity was 90% of the average, unusually low volume given the declines in certain sectors.\n\"Volume was heavy for Triple Witching last Friday, but Monday, Tuesday and today volumes have been light,\" Rich Repetto from Piper Sandler told me\nHave retail traders, who have been such a large part of the increase in volume last year, suddenly lost interest?\n\"It seems to show that the retail customer has walked away,\" Matt Maley from Miller Tabak told me. \"The question is, why? Is it higher rates? Concerns about lockdowns? Or are they betting on March Madness?\"\nAnother example: Reddit favorite GameStop wasdown all day on disappointing earningsbut collapsed going into the close, down 33%. But only 23 million shares changed hands, well short of the 30-day average of 34 million shares.\nLow volume on a big down day implies not a lot of owners interested in selling, but also not many buyers interested in purchasing, even with shares down over 30%.\nSame with another Reddit-crowd favorite: AMC, down 15% on volume two-thirds of its average.\nIs Cathie Wood the key?\nFor the high-beta, high-growth, high-momentum crowd, watching Wood has been an obsession. Maley says the flagship Ark Innovation fund is now set up for a key technical test.\n\n\"The closing low for ARK was $110.26 on March 8th,\" he told me. It bounced nicely off of that, but has been trending down for the last week, Maley noted.\n\"It closed today at $114. If it drops below that $110 level, that will be very negative on a technical basis,\" with the trader noting that a \"lower low\" is usually a negative indicator.\n\"If buy on weakness doesn't work this time, that is going to worry a lot of people,\" Maley said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":185,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":359779620,"gmtCreate":1616426511760,"gmtModify":1634525863337,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"High risk high return[冷漠] ","listText":"High risk high return[冷漠] ","text":"High risk high return[冷漠]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/359779620","repostId":"1196402560","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":357,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":327364392,"gmtCreate":1616060958616,"gmtModify":1703497040694,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wait till it goes more dipper [吃瓜] ","listText":"Wait till it goes more dipper [吃瓜] ","text":"Wait till it goes more dipper [吃瓜]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/327364392","repostId":"2120182059","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2120182059","pubTimestamp":1616029355,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2120182059?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-18 09:02","market":"us","language":"en","title":"3 Recent IPO Stocks Cathie Wood Is Buying Now","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2120182059","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The ARK Invest founder is making sizable bets on these fledgling public companies.","content":"
Cathie Wood has made quite a name for herself over the past couple of years. The founder and CEO of ARK Invest can boast of unrivaled results for her five flagship exchange-traded funds (ETFs) last year, as each generated returns of more than 100% in 2020. Wood has a knack for identifying some of the most important disruptive and emerging trends and investing accordingly, making her one of the most watched names on Wall Street.
\n
Many seasoned investors avoid newly public companies those stocks tend to carry greater risk. Over the past several weeks, however, Wood has been buying up a number of these recent issues. Given her track record, some of these stocks might be worth a look. Let's look at three stocks that went public within the past year that made their way onto Cathie Wood's radar and ultimately into ARK's portfolios.
\n
\n
Roblox
\n
What's most notable about the recent addition of Roblox (NYSE:RBLX) is that the ARK Next Generation Internet (NYSEMKT:ARKW) ETF added more than 500,000 shares of the video game platform on Wednesday, the day of the stock's direct listing. That's an unusually risky move, so it signals that Wood has a fair degree of confidence that Roblox will continue to succeed.
\n
It's easy to see why Roblox would be a good fit for Wood's investing style. The company boasts one of the most popular video game platforms for children, but it's much more. Roblox also hosts online training seminars that teach kids to develop their own games, which can then be hosted on the platform -- without the \"developers\" having to learn professional-level coding skills.
\n
Growth has been impressive over the past year. Revenue grew 82% year-over-year in 2020, up from 56% gains in 2019. Its net loss also accelerated, worsening 264% compared to the prior year. Perhaps more importantly, however, free cash flow soared 27-fold, which suggests that non-cash items are causing the losses. Roblox also grew its daily active user (DAU) base to 32.6 million, up 85% year-over-year. The number of developers on the platform topped 8 million, and the fees they earned for their creations nearly tripled.
\n
Given its skyrocketing growth, it's easy to understand why Wood jumped on Roblox early.
\n
\n
DraftKings
\n
Over the past several weeks, both the ARK Innovation (NYSEMKT:ARKK) ETF and the ARK Fintech Innovation (NYSEMKT:ARKF) ETF have made several purchases of DraftKings (NASDAQ:DKNG). The fantasy sports and online gambling company went public less than a year ago after merging with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), but certainly meets the fund's goal of finding disruptive products and services. Maybe that's why Wood added roughly 1.75 million shares last week alone.
\n
I must admit I initially had reservations about DraftKings, but there's no denying that the trend toward legal gambling is gaining steam. Online sports betting is one of the biggest gambling-related growth areas, and DraftKings is well-positioned to benefit from the trend.
\n
For the year ended Dec. 31, 2020, DraftKings delivered adjusted revenue that grew 90% year-over-year, though losses surged 491% as the company scrambled to build out its user base and leverage its platform. This strategy is beginning to bear fruit: Its monthly unique players (MUP) grew by 29%, while the average revenue per MUP (ARMUP) increased 31%. This highlights DraftKings' ability to not only attract new users, but also increase the revenue it generates from existing users.
\n
DraftKings is active in a dozen states, more than any rival, as it continues to reach critical mass. This is still a somewhat risky bet, but with the tailwind of legalized gambling and online sports wagering, the company could be among the biggest winners in the space.
\n
\n
Skillz
\n
Another stock that just hit the public markets that has been added to the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF in recent weeks is Skillz (NYSE:SKLZ). The mobile esports platform similarly opted for a speedier debut by merging with a SPAC in December.
\n
The Skillz platform allows users to turn any game created for Apple's iOS or Alphabet's Android into a competition that users can enter for cash and prizes or to accumulate points. This certainly meets Wood's criteria of finding cutting-edge products, likely contributing to her decision to add 1.18 million shares last week.
\n
For the year ended Dec. 31, 2020, revenue grew 92% year-over-year, while gross profit grew 91%. The company's net loss also accelerated, worsening to the tune of 408% as Skillz raced to add new members to increase the leverage of its platform. At the same time, the number of monthly active users (MAU) grew 121%, though the average revenue per paying monthly active user (ARPPU) slipped by about 12%.
\n
Skillz's management estimates its total addressable market at roughly $86 billion, which pales in comparison to the $230 million in revenue the company generated in 2020. This at least partially explains Wood's interest in this young company.
\n
\n
Caveat emptor -- buyer beware
\n
A quick look at these three companies reveals several noteworthy similarities, the most glaring of which is that none is yet profitable. Additionally, these companies fall squarely into the high-risk, high-reward category, with each carrying a somewhat lofty sticker price and a valuation to match. The founder and CEO of ARK Invest can boast of unrivaled results for her five flagship exchange-traded funds (ETFs) last year, as each generated returns of more than 100% in 2020. Wood has a knack for identifying some of the most important disruptive and emerging trends and investing accordingly, making her one of the most watched names on Wall Street.\nMany seasoned investors avoid newly public companies those stocks tend to carry greater risk. Over the past several weeks, however, Wood has been buying up a number of these recent issues. Given her track record, some of these stocks might be worth a look. Let's look at three stocks that went public within the past year that made their way onto Cathie Wood's radar and ultimately into ARK's portfolios.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nRoblox\nWhat's most notable about the recent addition of Roblox (NYSE:RBLX) is that the ARK Next Generation Internet (NYSEMKT:ARKW) ETF added more than 500,000 shares of the video game platform on Wednesday, the day of the stock's direct listing. That's an unusually risky move, so it signals that Wood has a fair degree of confidence that Roblox will continue to succeed.\nIt's easy to see why Roblox would be a good fit for Wood's investing style. The company boasts one of the most popular video game platforms for children, but it's much more. Roblox also hosts online training seminars that teach kids to develop their own games, which can then be hosted on the platform -- without the \"developers\" having to learn professional-level coding skills.\nGrowth has been impressive over the past year. The number of developers on the platform topped 8 million, and the fees they earned for their creations nearly tripled.\nGiven its skyrocketing growth, it's easy to understand why Wood jumped on Roblox early.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nDraftKings\nOver the past several weeks, both the ARK Innovation (NYSEMKT:ARKK) ETF and the ARK Fintech Innovation (NYSEMKT:ARKF) ETF have made several purchases of DraftKings (NASDAQ:DKNG). The fantasy sports and online gambling company went public less than a year ago after merging with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), but certainly meets the fund's goal of finding disruptive products and services. Maybe that's why Wood added roughly 1.75 million shares last week alone.\nI must admit I initially had reservations about DraftKings, but there's no denying that the trend toward legal gambling is gaining steam. Online sports betting is one of the biggest gambling-related growth areas, and DraftKings is well-positioned to benefit from the trend.\nFor the year ended Dec. This highlights DraftKings' ability to not only attract new users, but also increase the revenue it generates from existing users.\nDraftKings is active in a dozen states, more than any rival, as it continues to reach critical mass. This is still a somewhat risky bet, but with the tailwind of legalized gambling and online sports wagering, the company could be among the biggest winners in the space.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nSkillz\nAnother stock that just hit the public markets that has been added to the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF in recent weeks is Skillz (NYSE:SKLZ). The mobile esports platform similarly opted for a speedier debut by merging with a SPAC in December.\nThe Skillz platform allows users to turn any game created for Apple's iOS or Alphabet's Android into a competition that users can enter for cash and prizes or to accumulate points. This certainly meets Wood's criteria of finding cutting-edge products, likely contributing to her decision to add 1.18 million shares last week.\nFor the year ended Dec. 31, 2020, revenue grew 92% year-over-year, while gross profit grew 91%. The company's net loss also accelerated, worsening to the tune of 408% as Skillz raced to add new members to increase the leverage of its platform. At the same time, the number of monthly active users (MAU) grew 121%, though the average revenue per paying monthly active user (ARPPU) slipped by about 12%.\nSkillz's management estimates its total addressable market at roughly $86 billion, which pales in comparison to the $230 million in revenue the company generated in 2020. This at least partially explains Wood's interest in this young company.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nCaveat emptor -- buyer beware\nA quick look at these three companies reveals several noteworthy similarities, the most glaring of which is that none is yet profitable. Additionally, these companies fall squarely into the high-risk, high-reward category, with each carrying a somewhat lofty sticker price and a valuation to match. Skillz, DraftKings, and Roblox are currently selling at 29, 27, and 19 times forwards sales, respectively.\nCompanies that are new to public markets tend to be riskier and more volatile, so they represent just a small portion of ARK Invest's overall holdings. That said, given Wood's track record for keeping her finger on the pulse of technology and identifying disruptive companies that change the way we live, these fledgling upstarts certainly warrant further consideration.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":290,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"hots":[{"id":359779620,"gmtCreate":1616426511760,"gmtModify":1634525863337,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"High risk high return[冷漠] ","listText":"High risk high return[冷漠] ","text":"High risk high return[冷漠]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/359779620","repostId":"1196402560","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":357,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":366164335,"gmtCreate":1614413367327,"gmtModify":1703477416683,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$就看你能耗盡我的耐性沒有","listText":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$就看你能耗盡我的耐性沒有","text":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$就看你能耗盡我的耐性沒有","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/5733b2e6df94d53659e124799f37f167","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/366164335","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":410,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":368797150,"gmtCreate":1614351816770,"gmtModify":1703476811245,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$hold on tight and cheer [晕] ","listText":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$hold on tight and cheer [晕] ","text":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$hold on tight and cheer [晕]","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/fe1464019080b63ec9a4f022d336f09c","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":3,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/368797150","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":528,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":134420257,"gmtCreate":1622254536779,"gmtModify":1634102754271,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Really? None of the major Wall Street banks call it a sell.“Most affluent consumers did not see their earnings power much affected by the pandemic, but they saw their spending opportunities shrink. The iPhone is the best illustration of this, driving close to record shipments in FY21, implying the iPhone 12 is the second best-ever received iPhone,” the note said. However, the confluence of events that made the iPhone 12 a success means that demand has been pulled forward, creating a risk for a disappointing follow-up in the company’s 2022 fiscal year, New Street said.“We see material downside risk – shipments in the 180-200m range vs. consensus at 234m, and downgrade the stock to sell,” the note said.Apple, like several other Big Tech stocks, has underperformed the broader market this year. The S&P 500 slipped 0.2% after setting a record high intraday and finished at 3,962.71, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite clung to a gain of about 0.1% to close at 13,471.57.\nThe S&P 500 and Dow are still close to record highs, but there’s growing concern among investors that interest rates may continue to climb, snuffing out the comeback for equities. The market fell to its session lows when the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield briefly rose above 1.62% in afternoon trading.\nTraders will get more guidance from the Federal Reserve on rates and inflation on Wednesday. The central bank kicks off its two-day meeting on Tuesday, followed by a statement and briefing from Chairman Jerome Powell the following day.\n“The markets are going to be tuned in to every word” of Powell’s press conference, said Rick Rieder, BlackRock’s CIO for global fixed income. “If he says nothing, it will move markets. If he says a lot it will move markets.”\nThe recent jump in bond yields has prompted a rotation out of growth stocks, as the companies’ future cash flows begin to look less attractive relative to other assets.\n“The distribution of COVID-19 vaccines is bringing us closer to a fully reopened economy and is likely the most important factor in assessing economic growth prospects for 2021,” noted strategists at LPL Financial. “We expect interest rates to fade as a threat to markets,” the firm added.\nThe market on Tuesday was supported by megacap tech stocks, with Apple and Google-parent Alphabet each rising 1.3% and 1.4% and Amazon adding 0.3%. Apple and Amazon have underperformed in recent months as investors have shifted from growth stocks to value plays, but some of the more mature tech stocks now appear less expensive, according to some strategists.\n“These are highly profitable businesses with excellent balance sheets,” said Angelo Kourkafas, an investment strategist at Edward Jones. “They could be relative underperformers, but I have hard time, based on the valuations they’re trading at, imagining that they could have a severe or sustained pullback.”\nFebruary retail sales fell by more than expected, down 3%, data released Tuesday showed, reflecting in part a month marked by severe weather across the United States. However, January’s retail sales figures was revised upward to a 7.6% jump from a 5.3% increase, so the markets largely ignored the number.\nThe calm in stocks on Tuesday was reflected in the Cboe Volatility Index, which fell below 20 and hit its lowest level since February of last year. The index measure the size of expected future price moves for stocks implied by options pricing.\nTuesday’s market action followed a positive day for the three major indexes. During Monday’s session, the Dow jumped 174 points, notching its 21st record intraday high of the year and 14th record closing high of 2021. The S&P 500, meanwhile, gained 0.64% for its 13th record closing high of the year, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.05%.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":61,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":329635347,"gmtCreate":1615239324489,"gmtModify":1703486068845,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"It didn't go far, went down afterwards[捂脸] ","listText":"It didn't go far, went down afterwards[捂脸] ","text":"It didn't go far, went down afterwards[捂脸]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/329635347","repostId":"1150086259","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1150086259","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"为用户提供金融资讯、行情、数据,旨在帮助投资者理解世界,做投资决策。","home_visible":1,"media_name":"老虎资讯综合","id":"102","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1615214068,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1150086259?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-08 22:34","market":"us","language":"en","title":"US stocks open higher:Dow rises about 170 points","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1150086259","media":"老虎资讯综合","summary":"U.S. stocks edged higher on Monday after hedge fund manager David Tepper said the recent rapid rise ","content":"
U.S. stocks edged higher on Monday after hedge fund manager David Tepper said the recent rapid rise in rates is set to stabilize and it's hard to be bearish on stocks.

The S&P 500 up 0.28%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 150 points. The April increase was a massive shortfall from the one million jump expected by some economists.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":367,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":379889247,"gmtCreate":1618715175889,"gmtModify":1634291295499,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Does electric car specukation over[抠鼻] ","listText":"Does electric car specukation over[抠鼻] ","text":"Does electric car specukation over[抠鼻]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/379889247","repostId":"1156256429","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":563,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":352325850,"gmtCreate":1616897163070,"gmtModify":1634523628935,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Chance to pick up[抠鼻] ","listText":"Chance to pick up[抠鼻] ","text":"Chance to pick up[抠鼻]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/352325850","repostId":"1194339221","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1194339221","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1616767480,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1194339221?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-26 22:04","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Hot Chinese concept stocks Rebound","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1194339221","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"Hot Chinese concept stocks Rebound in Friday morning trading. The shares of Pinduoduo,JD.COM and Bilibili gain 5%,Alibaba and NTES gain 2%.\n\nThey had once fell as U.S. SEC begins roll-out of law aimed at delisting Chinese firms.","content":"
Hot Chinese concept stocks Rebound in Friday morning trading. The shares of Pinduoduo,JD.COM and Bilibili gain 5%,Alibaba and NTES gain 2%.

They had once fell as U.S. SEC begins roll-out of law aimed at delisting Chinese firms.

","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; As yields moved up, stocks, particularly high-multiple megacap stocks, moved down. If yields dropped, tech rallied.\nThat relationship has broken down.\nYields have been down three days in a row, yet tech did not react.\nMegacap tech like Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Micron, and Xilinx were down 1.5% to 3%.\nMore importantly, the market's favoritehigh-growth names got clobbered.\nWood'sARK Innovation Fund (ARKK), a bellwether for the big-growth tech crowd, was down 5% and is now 28% off the 52-week high it hit on February 16, which is just when interest rates starting moving up.\nArk Innovation Fund on Wednesday\n(largest holdings)\n\nCrispr down 9%\nBaidu down 9%\nZoom down 7%\nRokudown 7%\nTeladoc down 6%.\n\n\"You'd think with all this stimulus, money would be pouring into Cathie Wood [funds], and it's just not happening,\" Josh Brown, CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, said on CNBC.\n Are retail traders losing interest?\nOne major surprise has been a pullback in volume. The NYSE volume was 80% of the 30-day average, Nasdaq activity was 90% of the average, unusually low volume given the declines in certain sectors.\n\"Volume was heavy for Triple Witching last Friday, but Monday, Tuesday and today volumes have been light,\" Rich Repetto from Piper Sandler told me\nHave retail traders, who have been such a large part of the increase in volume last year, suddenly lost interest?\n\"It seems to show that the retail customer has walked away,\" Matt Maley from Miller Tabak told me. \"The question is, why? Is it higher rates? Concerns about lockdowns? Or are they betting on March Madness?\"\nAnother example: Reddit favorite GameStop wasdown all day on disappointing earningsbut collapsed going into the close, down 33%. But only 23 million shares changed hands, well short of the 30-day average of 34 million shares.\nLow volume on a big down day implies not a lot of owners interested in selling, but also not many buyers interested in purchasing, even with shares down over 30%.\nSame with another Reddit-crowd favorite: AMC, down 15% on volume two-thirds of its average.\nIs Cathie Wood the key?\nFor the high-beta, high-growth, high-momentum crowd, watching Wood has been an obsession. Maley says the flagship Ark Innovation fund is now set up for a key technical test.\n\n\"The closing low for ARK was $110.26 on March 8th,\" he told me. It bounced nicely off of that, but has been trending down for the last week, Maley noted.\n\"It closed today at $114. If it drops below that $110 level, that will be very negative on a technical basis,\" with the trader noting that a \"lower low\" is usually a negative indicator.\n\"If buy on weakness doesn't work this time, that is going to worry a lot of people,\" Maley said.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":185,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":363773504,"gmtCreate":1614176750008,"gmtModify":1631889413928,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$JFrog Ltd(FROG)$就看你能耗多久","listText":"$JFrog Ltd(FROG)$就看你能耗多久","text":"$JFrog Ltd(FROG)$就看你能耗多久","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/363773504","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":313,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":360779093,"gmtCreate":1613984812912,"gmtModify":1631884564173,"author":{"id":"3571463229344698","authorId":"3571463229344698","name":"WayneLo","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/14093ba883674abafbe66f8cf1adf5d3","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$又來挑戰我耐性[无语] ","listText":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$又來挑戰我耐性[无语] ","text":"$Affirm Holdings, Inc.(AFRM)$又來挑戰我耐性[无语]","images":[{"img":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8537d6a771a2b0a38db81e6795ababc1","width":"1080","height":"1920"}],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/360779093","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":72,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":1,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
