The company says it is \"the world's first revolutionary robotic navigation platform.\" It specifically helps with alignments of the spine.</p>\n<p>The bulk of the company's revenue today comes from its musculoskeletal segment, which relates to its physical devices; in 2020, sales related to that segment totaled $748 million and represented 95% of its revenue. Its enabling technologies segment, which includes ExcelsiusGPS, generated a more modest $40.5 million in sales.</p>\n<p>However, the growth opportunities in this area are too enticing to ignore. Analysts project that the market for robot-assisted surgical systems could be worth nearly $18 billion by 2027, growing at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.8% until then.</p>\n<p>With a solid business today that provides hospitals with important implantable devices&nbsp;<i>plus</i> an exciting growth area related to robotics, Globus can be an investment that provides excellent returns for many years. The healthcare stock has already been picking up steam in the past 12 months, rising more than 70% and outperforming the&nbsp;<b>S&amp;P 500</b>, which is up just 42% during that period.</p>\n<h2>2. Microsoft</h2>\n<p>Tech giant Microsoft is an easy pick for long-term investors. The company provides businesses and individuals with many products and services that will be used for the foreseeable future. Its fastest-growing product is Azure, its cloud computing service where companies can build and test applications. Last quarter, for the first three months of 2021, its year-over-year growth rate was 50% -- highest among the company's segments.</p>\n<p>The cloud computing market is a high-growth sector to invest in, which could be worth more than $832 billion in 2025. It is already more prevalent than robotic-assisted surgery, but it is still growing at a strong CAGR of 17.5%.</p>\n<p>Microsoft also has a stable and growing business that is still generating great numbers. Its Office 365 suite, which includes popular programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, grew its commercial sales by 22% in the most recent quarter. And because Office365 is a recurring service, it should be an excellent source of revenue for the company as businesses and individuals renew their licenses.</p>\n<p>Now that companies are spending more time on the cloud, especially as employees look to continue working remotely, investing in businesses that have many attractive cloud-based products and services like Microsoft is a solid move. Shares of the tech stock are up 37% over the past year, and although they have underperformed the S&amp;P 500, investors shouldn't count on <i>that </i>trend lasting over the long term.</p>\n<h2>3. DraftKings</h2>\n<p>It has been more than three years since the U.S. Supreme Court lifted the federal ban on sports betting. It is a hot new sector to invest in, and it's only getting bigger as more states choose to legalize it.</p>\n<p>Although not everyone has gotten on board with the industry, more than two dozen states now permit some form of sports betting. Globally, the market could be worth $134 billion by 2024 -- growing at a CAGR of close to 10%.</p>\n<p>One company that is in an excellent position to benefit from that is DraftKings. It entered into an exclusive deal with ESPN last year, which will make DraftKings its \"exclusive daily fantasy sports provider.\" While sports activity has been muted during the pandemic, as the economy gets back to normal and sports leagues are back to operating at or near capacity, it could lead to some stellar results for DraftKings this year.</p>\n<p>When the company released its latest results on May 7, it upgraded its guidance and now projects that sales could top $1.15 billion in 2021 (up from a previous forecast that called for no more than $1 billion in revenue). That represents a year-over-year growth rate of 79%.</p>\n<p>Sports betting should only become more popular in the years ahead as more states legalize it, leading DraftKings to deliver fantastic returns to investors. They appear to have vanished, along with an estimated $3.6 billion in Bitcoin -- an amount that a lawyer for the brothers said was inflated.</p>\n<p>Attorney Gerhard Botha, who’s working on the firm’s liquidation case, said some of his clients last made contact with the brothers in May, and he was able to reach them before court proceedings kicked off in Johannesburg. But no “proactive response” was forthcoming from them, Botha said.</p>\n<p>A “To Let” sign could be spotted Saturday, fastened to a glass door of vacant office premises in Johannesburg’s upmarket Rosebank business hub that were listed in Africrypt’s communication with clients.</p>\n<p>Their cousin, Zakira Laher, said she was last able to make contact with the brothers in April and no one knows where they are. Raees Cajee directed all questions to a lawyer, John Oosthuizen, who wasn’t immediately available to comment.</p>\n<p>While Laher, 31, worked for the brothers briefly, she resigned from Africrypt in 2019 -- her role was only to do some administrative work and provide legal advice as the company was getting started. The brothers liked a “nice lifestyle,” filled with luxury cars and traveling -- nothing unusual considering they started making money with crypto ventures at an early age, she said.</p>\n<p>The brothers halted their operations in April, along with a message to investors that Africrypt had been hacked and funds were missing.</p>\n<p>A lawyer assisting some of the clients said the missing Bitcoin totaled as much as $3.6 billion. Another firm, working on bankruptcy proceedings, said they are aware of about 62 clients that have about 140 million rand ($9.9 million) at risk -- and possibly more coming forward.</p>\n<p>Africrypt’s Facebook page, with just two dozen followers, has also been eerily silent for weeks, punctuated by a rare entreaty from someone claiming to have been “totally duped.”</p>\n<p>Oosthuizen, a lawyer for Raees and Ameer Cajee, told the BBC that the brothers maintain the company was the victim of a hack and “categorically denied” they had absconded with funds. Oosthuizen also suggested the $3.6 billion figure for the missing Bitcoin was an overestimate.</p>\n<p>Although the brothers never notified the police about the hack, they intend to cooperate with any future investigation, Oosthuizen told the BBC. They had received death threats and reacted by trying to keep themselves and their families safe, he said.</p>\n<p>It wasn’t clear if the lawyer knew of their whereabouts.</p>\n<p>Raising Money</p>\n<p>Much of Africrypt’s marketing was achieved by word-of-mouth, said attorney Botha. The brothers will have to reply to the proceedings at the Johannesburg High Court by July 19, he said.</p>\n<p>Africrypt’s customer base spanned a variety of clients, from businesses and wealthy individuals to those who loaned money to keep up with their commitments.</p>\n<p>“There were rich people, without a doubt,” Botha said. “And people that invested their parents’ pension funds.”</p>\n<p>An Africrypt investor presentation paints Raees, the younger brother, as a prodigy. He was first introduced to Bitcoin in 2009 and started a business when he was 13 years old, it said. Africrypt invested capital “in a variety of crypto currencies which the parties have verbally discussed and understood,” according to a client contract.</p>\n<p>In a police statement from another investor seen by Bloomberg, Africrypt promised a fivefold return on the investment. They appear to have vanished, along with an estimated $3.6 billion in Bitcoin -- an amount that a lawyer for the brothers said was inflated.\nAttorney Gerhard Botha, who’s working on the firm’s liquidation case, said some of his clients last made contact with the brothers in May, and he was able to reach them before court proceedings kicked off in Johannesburg. But no “proactive response” was forthcoming from them, Botha said.\nA “To Let” sign could be spotted Saturday, fastened to a glass door of vacant office premises in Johannesburg’s upmarket Rosebank business hub that were listed in Africrypt’s communication with clients.\nTheir cousin, Zakira Laher, said she was last able to make contact with the brothers in April and no one knows where they are. Raees Cajee directed all questions to a lawyer, John Oosthuizen, who wasn’t immediately available to comment.\nWhile Laher, 31, worked for the brothers briefly, she resigned from Africrypt in 2019 -- her role was only to do some administrative work and provide legal advice as the company was getting started. The brothers liked a “nice lifestyle,” filled with luxury cars and traveling -- nothing unusual considering they started making money with crypto ventures at an early age, she said.\nThe brothers halted their operations in April, along with a message to investors that Africrypt had been hacked and funds were missing.\nA lawyer assisting some of the clients said the missing Bitcoin totaled as much as $3.6 billion. Another firm, working on bankruptcy proceedings, said they are aware of about 62 clients that have about 140 million rand ($9.9 million) at risk -- and possibly more coming forward.\nAfricrypt’s Facebook page, with just two dozen followers, has also been eerily silent for weeks, punctuated by a rare entreaty from someone claiming to have been “totally duped.”\nOosthuizen, a lawyer for Raees and Ameer Cajee, told the BBC that the brothers maintain the company was the victim of a hack and “categorically denied” they had absconded with funds. Oosthuizen also suggested the $3.6 billion figure for the missing Bitcoin was an overestimate.\nAlthough the brothers never notified the police about the hack, they intend to cooperate with any future investigation, Oosthuizen told the BBC. They had received death threats and reacted by trying to keep themselves and their families safe, he said.\nIt wasn’t clear if the lawyer knew of their whereabouts.\nRaising Money\nMuch of Africrypt’s marketing was achieved by word-of-mouth, said attorney Botha. The brothers will have to reply to the proceedings at the Johannesburg High Court by July 19, he said.\nAfricrypt’s customer base spanned a variety of clients, from businesses and wealthy individuals to those who loaned money to keep up with their commitments.\n“There were rich people, without a doubt,” Botha said. “And people that invested their parents’ pension funds.”\nAn Africrypt investor presentation paints Raees, the younger brother, as a prodigy. He was first introduced to Bitcoin in 2009 and started a business when he was 13 years old, it said. Africrypt invested capital “in a variety of crypto currencies which the parties have verbally discussed and understood,” according to a client contract.\nIn a police statement from another investor seen by Bloomberg, Africrypt promised a fivefold return on the investment. There’s an urgent need to help the workforce build digital skills to take on these jobs.”\nThe U.S. tech giant has also been focused on helping to reskill people who have been impacted by the pandemic.\n“What we’ve really designed that program to do is to meet the needs of Covid in real time. Among them, 90% intend to continue using these services even after the pandemic, the report said.\nIn order for Singapore to capitalize on these trends, several factors need to come together to fuel that growth, said Selena Ling, chief economist at OCBC Bank in Singapore.\n“You need to have a fairly internet savvy population, high mobile penetration (and) good internet connectivity which is affordable,” she said. According to analysts, Singapore-based <b>Sea Limited</b> (NYSE:SE) is expected to see its full-year sales skyrocket from $4.39 billion in 2020 to about $21.9 billion in 2024. That works out to a quintupling in full-year revenue in four years.</p>\n<p>Sea's secret sauce (say that three times fast) is that it has three rapidly growing operating segments. For the moment, it's being anchored by its digital gaming operations. The company ended March with close to 649 million active users, 12.3% of which were paying to play. That's well above the industry average, and it's notably higher than the 8.9% of quarterly active users who were paying <a href=\"https://laohu8.com/S/AONE.U\">one</a> year ago.</p>\n<p>However, the superstar for this company is its e-commerce platform, Shopee. It's the top shopping app downloaded in Southeastern Asia, and it's becoming especially popular in Brazil. In the first quarter of 2021, Shopee saw $12.6 billion in gross merchandise value (GMV) purchased. For some context here, Shopee did $10.3 billion in GMV in all of 2018. Both the coronavirus pandemic and the rise of the middle class throughout Southeastern Asia is driving online purchases.</p>\n<p>Lastly, Sea has its rapidly growing digital financial services segment. More than 26 million people were paying for mobile wallet services at the end of March. Over the next four years investors will struggle to find a green-energy stock expanding quicker than hydrogen fuel-cell solutions provider <b>Plug Power</b> (NASDAQ:PLUG). After delivering $337 million in sales in 2020, Plug has guided for $1.7 billion in full-year revenue for 2024. That's a cool 404% increase, if it comes to fruition.</p>\n<p>For the time being, climate change is Plug Power's best friend. Joe Biden winning the presidency last year, coupled with Democrats regaining control of the Senate by the narrowest of margins, gives the current administration an opportunity to pass a clean energy bill. While it's unclear what a final infrastructure bill might look like, it's almost a certainty that clean vehicle solutions, such as those developed by Plug Power, will benefit.</p>\n<p>Additionally, the company secured two joint ventures just days apart in January. First, SK Group took a 10% equity stake in the company, with the duo aiming to introduce hydrogen fuel-cell-powered vehicles and hydrogen refilling stations in South Korea. A few days later, Plug landed a deal with French automaker <b>Renault</b> that'll see the two go after Europe's light commercial vehicle market. In fiscal 2021, Snowflake's sales grew by 124% to $592 million. But based on Wall Street's consensus for fiscal 2025, it's on track to generate $3.9 billion in revenue. This would represent a four-year increase of 559%.</p>\n<p>What makes Snowflake so special is the company's competitive advantages. For example, it's shunned subscriptions in favor of a pay-as-you-go operating model. Customers pay for the amount of data they store and the number of Snowflake Compute Credits used. This allows the company's clients to keep better tabs on their expenses.</p>\n<p>Also, since Snowflake's solutions are built atop the most popular cloud infrastructure platforms, customers can share data seamlessly, even across competing services.</p>\n<p>Though it's the fastest-growing cloud stock, Snowflake is also one of the priciest. It's currently valued at 67 times projected sales for fiscal 2022 and roughly 19 times estimated sales four years from now. Though <b>Tesla</b>&nbsp;and the U.S. EV market tend to get a lot of attention, the biggest opportunity is actually China. That's why <b>NIO</b> (NYSE:NIO) finds itself as one of the fastest-growing large-cap stocks on the planet. If all goes well, full-year sales can catapult from about $2.5 billion in 2020 to $16.8 billion in 2024. That's a sales increase of approximately 561%.</p>\n<p>Despite a global chip shortage, NIO has shown Wall Street that it can effectively scale its production. After delivering 20,060 vehicles in the first quarter, the company is on pace to deliver between 21,000 and 22,000 EVs in the second quarter. Once global chip supply issues are resolved, NIO will look to boost its annual delivery capacity to around 150,000 EVs.</p>\n<p>For NIO, innovation is extremely important. It's been introducing one new vehicle each year, with the sportier EC6 crossover SUV hitting showrooms last summer. It's quickly become a hit with EV buyers.</p>\n<p>Additionally, NIO introduced a battery-as-a-service program. For a monthly fee, this subscription service allows buyers to replace or upgrade their vehicle's batteries. It also reduces the initial purchase price of the vehicle. Following a pandemic-ravaged year where it brought in $476 million in sales, Wall Street is looking for Novavax to generate $5.8 billion in annual revenue in 2024. That's your run-of-the-mill sales increase of 1,118% over the coming four years.</p>\n<p>As you may have rightly guessed, Novavax's core catalyst is a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine. The company's candidate, NVX-CoV2373 (these scientific names just roll off the tongue), demonstrated nearly 90% efficacy in a large U.K. study, and recently reported a 90.4% trial efficacy in the United States.&nbsp; With efficacy rates this high, Novavax could potentially displace <b>Johnson &amp; Johnson</b>'s single-dose vaccine, which offered an efficacy of 72%.</p>\n<p>Though you'd think this was a cut-and-dried success story, Novavax has delayed its emergency-use authorization filings in Europe, the U.S., and U.K. until the third quarter, and it likely won't be at full production capacity till the fourth quarter. Analysts project that the market for robot-assisted surgical systems could be worth nearly $18 billion by 2027, growing at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.8% until then.</p>\n<p>With a solid business today that provides hospitals with important implantable devices&nbsp;<i>plus</i> an exciting growth area related to robotics, Globus can be an investment that provides excellent returns for many years. The healthcare stock has already been picking up steam in the past 12 months, rising more than 70% and outperforming the&nbsp;<b>S&amp;P 500</b>, which is up just 42% during that period.</p>\n<h2>2. Microsoft</h2>\n<p>Tech giant Microsoft is an easy pick for long-term investors. The brothers liked a “nice lifestyle,” filled with luxury cars and traveling -- nothing unusual considering they started making money with crypto ventures at an early age, she said.</p>\n<p>The brothers halted their operations in April, along with a message to investors that Africrypt had been hacked and funds were missing.</p>\n<p>A lawyer assisting some of the clients said the missing Bitcoin totaled as much as $3.6 billion. Another firm, working on bankruptcy proceedings, said they are aware of about 62 clients that have about 140 million rand ($9.9 million) at risk -- and possibly more coming forward.</p>\n<p>Africrypt’s Facebook page, with just two dozen followers, has also been eerily silent for weeks, punctuated by a rare entreaty from someone claiming to have been “totally duped.”</p>\n<p>Oosthuizen, a lawyer for Raees and Ameer Cajee, told the BBC that the brothers maintain the company was the victim of a hack and “categorically denied” they had absconded with funds. Oosthuizen also suggested the $3.6 billion figure for the missing Bitcoin was an overestimate.</p>\n<p>Although the brothers never notified the police about the hack, they intend to cooperate with any future investigation, Oosthuizen told the BBC. They had received death threats and reacted by trying to keep themselves and their families safe, he said.</p>\n<p>It wasn’t clear if the lawyer knew of their whereabouts.</p>\n<p>Raising Money</p>\n<p>Much of Africrypt’s marketing was achieved by word-of-mouth, said attorney Botha. The brothers will have to reply to the proceedings at the Johannesburg High Court by July 19, he said.</p>\n<p>Africrypt’s customer base spanned a variety of clients, from businesses and wealthy individuals to those who loaned money to keep up with their commitments.</p>\n<p>“There were rich people, without a doubt,” Botha said. “And people that invested their parents’ pension funds.”</p>\n<p>An Africrypt investor presentation paints Raees, the younger brother, as a prodigy. He was first introduced to Bitcoin in 2009 and started a business when he was 13 years old, it said. Africrypt invested capital “in a variety of crypto currencies which the parties have verbally discussed and understood,” according to a client contract.</p>\n<p>In a police statement from another investor seen by Bloomberg, Africrypt promised a fivefold return on the investment. But what sets Singapore apart (is) its policies and its initiatives that help cultivate an environment for the digital industry and the digital economy to thrive,” said Ben King, country director at Google Singapore.\nStill, the city-state faces a skills shortage for digital talent — and that’s critical for its ambition to become a global e-commerce player, he told CNBC’s Christine Tan.\nTo address the issue, the government partnered with Google under the Skills Ignition SG initiative, to provide jobs training for those looking for a digital career.\n“The one challenge we see in realizing this vision of Singapore really becoming a much more meaningful and much more advanced regional e-commerce hub is talent development,” said King. “The problem that we’re seeing is not necessarily jobs — it’s skills. There’s an urgent need to help the workforce build digital skills to take on these jobs.”\nThe U.S. tech giant has also been focused on helping to reskill people who have been impacted by the pandemic.\n“What we’ve really designed that program to do is to meet the needs of Covid in real time. It’s really geared towards taking people who have found themselves out of work, providing opportunities for them to train over a six- or a nine-month window,” King said.\n“What we’re trying to do is develop skills that we think are going to be pivotal to the development and the evolution of e-commerce across the region.”\nShifts in consumers trends\nDespite the pandemic headwinds, internet usage across Southeast Asia continued to surge.\nSome 40 million new users in the region joined the internet last year, according to an e-commerce report on Southeast Asia by Google, Temasek and global consultancy Bain & Company.\nThe pandemic has brought about a “permanent and massive digital adoption spurt,” the report said.\nAbout 36% — or more than 1 in 3 digital service consumers — were new to online services. Among them, 90% intend to continue using these services even after the pandemic, the report said.\nIn order for Singapore to capitalize on these trends, several factors need to come together to fuel that growth, said Selena Ling, chief economist at OCBC Bank in Singapore.\n“You need to have a fairly internet savvy population, high mobile penetration (and) good internet connectivity which is affordable,” she said. Plenty of offerings in terms of both goods and services are also essential, she added.\nAs part of Singapore’s e-commerce strategy, the government plans to launch two 5G networks across the city-state by 2025. 5G networks are the next generation of mobile internet connectivity that promise faster speeds.\nThey will “form the backbone” of Singapore’s digital economy and boost the infrastructure’s capacity to manage large online sales orders internationally,according to the Ministry of Trade and Industry.\nThe Singapore government has taken the lead by putting in place a “smart nation” strategy, OCBC’s Ling pointed out.\n“The three key pillars of the smart nation (are) really to have a digital economy, a digital government — but also a digital society.
