Stock","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1111156856","media":"TheStreet","summary":"Apple shares rallied through most of April, but they failed to climb on Apple's Spring Loaded day. B","content":"
Apple shares rallied through most of April, but they failed to climb on Apple's Spring Loaded day. Below are three key reasons why the event still matters to Apple stock.
\n
Apple hosted the Spring Loaded event on April 20. The most relevant product upgrade came with the new iPad Pro. Updates on the iMac, services, home and wearable devices were also announced.
\n
Despite the exciting product and service news, Apple stock failed to climb on the day of the event. Looking past the intraday share price behavior, I think that yesterday's announcements were meaningful for the Cupertino company.
\n
I list below three reasons why I believe that Apple bulls should remain encouraged.
\n
#1 - M1 chip shows its value
\n
The M1 chip and other technological advances have allowed Apple to narrow the gap between their more mainstream and their pro products. This helps to explain, for example, the extinction of the Intel-powered iMac Pro.
\n
The new iPad Pro, now equipped with M1 chip, has faster performance and better graphics. Apple is going pedal-to-the-metal in 2021, betting both on single-product innovation and the power of the ecosystem. Much of what has been happening is a result of the new M1 chip and architecture, announced during last year's WWDC event.
\n
From a product development perspective, this is exciting times for Apple.
\n
Figure 1: Apple's M1 chip.
\n
#2 - Product portfolio looks strong
\n
The iPad Pro, the star of Tuesday's show, seems upgraded enough (M1, 5G, ultra wide camera) to make it stand out during a year in which Apple's tablet segment will start facing tough comps in the June quarter.
\n
When it comes to the new iMac, there is no question to its is beauty and power. At a starting price of $1,300, I believe that Apple makes the right moves by introducing a compelling desktop computer that is relatively affordable.
\n
The question is whether the iMac matters enough to investors. I think it does, but only to the extent that the complete ecosystem is important to the investment thesis (see next section). Time will tell if I may be underestimating Apple's new desktop model.
\n
Beyond the intraday stock price behavior that was underwhelming, I think that the announcements of April 20 were good for the Cupertino company. The product portfolio is looking as strong as ever, in my view. Bullishness reinforced.
\n
Figure 2: Apple's new 5G capable iPad Pro, equipped with M1 chip.
\n
#3 - Apple develops its ecosystem
\n
When it comes to the breadth of the product refresh, Apple did not disappoint. In addition to the new iPad Pro and new iMac, we also saw AirTags, Apple TV 4K, updates on Apple Card and Apple Podcast. Not all announcements will amount to much, from the perspective of future financial performance. But they all add to Apple's diverse ecosystem.
\n
Tim Cook opened his presentation with news on services. A quick update on Apple Card Family means that other members of a household can share credit scores and access credit. This can prove to be a significant development, as it adds purchasing power to Apple's consumer base.
\n
Later, updates within the Wearables and Home segment were unveiled, including the Apple TV 4K with A12 Bionic chip. Apple does not break down revenues or profits within the Wearables and Home segment, where Apple TV belongs. Below are three key reasons why the event still matters to Apple stock.\nApple hosted the Spring Loaded event on April 20. The most relevant product upgrade came with the new iPad Pro. Updates on the iMac, services, home and wearable devices were also announced.\nDespite the exciting product and service news, Apple stock failed to climb on the day of the event. Looking past the intraday share price behavior, I think that yesterday's announcements were meaningful for the Cupertino company.\nI list below three reasons why I believe that Apple bulls should remain encouraged.\n#1 - M1 chip shows its value\nThe M1 chip and other technological advances have allowed Apple to narrow the gap between their more mainstream and their pro products. This helps to explain, for example, the extinction of the Intel-powered iMac Pro.\nThe new iPad Pro, now equipped with M1 chip, has faster performance and better graphics. Apple is going pedal-to-the-metal in 2021, betting both on single-product innovation and the power of the ecosystem. Much of what has been happening is a result of the new M1 chip and architecture, announced during last year's WWDC event.\nFrom a product development perspective, this is exciting times for Apple.\nFigure 1: Apple's M1 chip.\n#2 - Product portfolio looks strong\nThe iPad Pro, the star of Tuesday's show, seems upgraded enough (M1, 5G, ultra wide camera) to make it stand out during a year in which Apple's tablet segment will start facing tough comps in the June quarter.\nWhen it comes to the new iMac, there is no question to its is beauty and power. At a starting price of $1,300, I believe that Apple makes the right moves by introducing a compelling desktop computer that is relatively affordable.\nThe question is whether the iMac matters enough to investors. I think it does, but only to the extent that the complete ecosystem is important to the investment thesis (see next section). Time will tell if I may be underestimating Apple's new desktop model.\nBeyond the intraday stock price behavior that was underwhelming, I think that the announcements of April 20 were good for the Cupertino company. The product portfolio is looking as strong as ever, in my view. Bullishness reinforced.\nFigure 2: Apple's new 5G capable iPad Pro, equipped with M1 chip.\n#3 - Apple develops its ecosystem\nWhen it comes to the breadth of the product refresh, Apple did not disappoint. In addition to the new iPad Pro and new iMac, we also saw AirTags, Apple TV 4K, updates on Apple Card and Apple Podcast. Not all announcements will amount to much, from the perspective of future financial performance. But they all add to Apple's diverse ecosystem.\nTim Cook opened his presentation with news on services. A quick update on Apple Card Family means that other members of a household can share credit scores and access credit. This can prove to be a significant development, as it adds purchasing power to Apple's consumer base.\nLater, updates within the Wearables and Home segment were unveiled, including the Apple TV 4K with A12 Bionic chip. Apple does not break down revenues or profits within the Wearables and Home segment, where Apple TV belongs. But I do not believe the product to represent a large chunk of the pie, certainly not compared to the Apple Watch and AirPods.\nOnce again, all updates were not necessarily an eye-catcher for investors, but interesting pieces of the puzzle instead. Apple's ecosystem strength, which is arguably the core of the company's business model, has been boosted.\nFigure 3: Apple's Air Tag.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":25,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":120536107,"gmtCreate":1624327229709,"gmtModify":1634007736820,"author":{"id":"3569638094156050","authorId":"3569638094156050","name":"Estada","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/035b646e17ea259fd1e75b59654ef1ff","crmLevel":1,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"authorIdStr":"3569638094156050","idStr":"3569638094156050"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Must ask crystal ball","listText":"Must ask crystal ball","text":"Must ask crystal ball","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/120536107","repostId":"1195761455","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1195761455","pubTimestamp":1624326856,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1195761455?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-22 09:54","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Amazon Price Predictions: Where Will Amazon Stock Go in 2021?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1195761455","media":"investorplace","summary":"Today is the first day of Amazon’s(NASDAQ:AMZN) Prime Day event, a two-day consumer event where you ","content":"
Today is the first day of Amazon’s(NASDAQ:AMZN) Prime Day event, a two-day consumer event where you can shop the e-commerce platform for astoundingly good deals. What organizers called the \"largest incentive prize in history\" will last for four years through Earth Day, 2025.
\n
Carbon capture and storage has drawn growing interest as a warming climate has melted glaciers, intensified tropical storms and resulted in \"sunny day flooding\" of more and more coastal areas. While countries are working to reduce emissions, scientists say carbon removal technology will also be crucial to the goal of getting emissions to net zero by 2050.
\n
Carbon capture projects have already drawn backing from Silicon Valley startups aiming for a technological solution to climate change, public officials worried about the slow pace of cutting emissions, and emitters including oil companies seeking to offset their climate impacts.
\n
The technology is not yet commercially viable. Removing carbon costs more than $300 per metric tonne in a world that each year emits greenhouse gases equivalent to about 50 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide. By 2050, some 10 billion tonnes of carbon capture may be needed, by some estimates.
\n
Musk's $100 million XPRIZE Carbon Removal is aimed at finding a viable solution for taking 1,000 tonnes out of the atmosphere annually, with potential to scale up dramatically.
\n
Musk has built a reputation as an industrialist focused on environmentalism, turning electric car maker Tesla into the world's most valuable vehicle company and expanding into solar power so customers can charge their rides carbon-free.
\n
Contest entrants should \"show a sustainable path to achieving low cost at gigatonne scale,\" organizers XPRIZE has said on its website.
\n
There are plenty of Silicon Valley startups eager to compete. All three resumed trading after being shut on Monday for a public holiday.\nOvernight the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at record highs, helped by tech names, though the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.25%.\nU.S. stock futures, the S&P 500 e-minis, were also up 0.11%.\n\"We are still getting markets responding positively to the lower volatility in the bond markets and lower yields, and a sense that inflation will be reasonably temporary and the Fed won't have to slam the breaks on,\" said Kyle Rodda, market analyst at brokerage IG.\n\"I suspect in the next 24-48 hours we'll see a lot of chop, first on the upside, then a little correction as the market positions itself, and then we're off to the races if we get the green light from the Fed Thursday morning,\" said Rodda.\nTraders will look closely at any hints from the meeting's final statement about whether and when the Fed plans to taper its bond buying programme, amid concerns from some quarters about inflation as the U.S. economy bounces back from the pandemic fallout. Why? Well, most would argue that this part of thestock marketis home to some of the top growth stocks today. For newer investors, growth stocks belong to companies that are anticipated to grow at a quicker rate than the broader market. More often than not, these companies place most of their revenue back towards improving their offerings. This would accurately describe tech companies who are constantly innovating and competing in their respective fields. Sure, tech stocks have taken a breather earlier this year. But, tech continues to evolve, nonetheless. Accordingly, there would be no shortage of news for tech investors today.

Speaking of news, we are currently in the midst of a heated earnings season for big tech now. Tech goliaths such as Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) continue to report stellar figures. For starters, Microsoft exceeded Wall Streets’ estimates with an earnings per share of $1.95 on revenue of $41.71 billion. This was followed by a 19% annualized revenue growth for the quarter, Microsoft’s largest quarterly increase since 2018. Elsewhere, Apple also reported a blowout quarter as company-wide sales surged by 54% year-over-year thanks to booming iPhone sales. All in all, tech stocks continue to make headlines this year. If all this has you looking to add some to your watchlist, here are four in focus on thestock market today.

Top Tech Stocks To Watch Right Now

International Business Machines Corporation(NYSE: IBM)

Zoom Video Communications Inc.(NASDAQ: ZM)

Amazon.com Inc.(NASDAQ: AMZN)

PayPal Holdings Inc.(NASDAQ: PYPL)

International Business Machines Corporation

IBM is a multinational technology company that has operations in over 170 countries.
