Over 300 stocks have more than doubled in 2021. Many of those winning investments will be lucky if they can hold those gains through the final three months of the year, but what about the names that have the potential to double again?
\n
Crocs (NASDAQ:CROX),AMC Entertainment(NYSE:AMC), andUpstart (NASDAQ:UPST)have more than doubled in value through the first nine months of 2021. Let's see why they have what it takes to possibly repeat the feat in the fourth quarter.
\n
1. Crocs
\n
Remember those bright rubbery shoes with holes in them? They're back in a big way. Crocs sales are booming since the pandemic began, and the stock is following suit with a 129% increase through the first nine months of 2021.
\n
The comfortable resin shoes were already making a comeback before the COVID-19 crisis with double-digit revenue growth in 2019 before repeating the feat in 2020. Momentum is what's really taking Crocs to a higher level in 2021.
\n
The year began with the footwear maker projecting 20%-to-25% top-line growth for the entire year back in February. Guidance was bumped higher -- to between 40% and 50% growth -- the following quarter. It happened again this summer, with Crocs now targeting a 60%-to-65% surge in revenue for all of 2021. What do you think will happen if those targets get pushed even higher when it reports third-quarter results later this month?
\n
Despite a stock that has popped nearly sixfold since the start of 2019, Crocs is reasonably priced given its accelerating growth. It's trading at 21 times this year's earnings and just 17 times next year's target. There's clearly room to increase those multiples, and Wall Street's finally as comfortable with Crocs as an investment as its customers are in its shoes.
\n
2. AMC Entertainment
\n
You may be surprised to find the country's leading multiplex operator on this list, but plot twists are what make movies so good. It's certainly true that AMC Entertainment has appreciated -- in terms of both stock price and a fivefold explosion in shares outstanding -- to the point where its valuation is out of whack relative to its peers'. If you want a pure investing play on the movie theater industry's recovery, you will find more attractively priced stocks toscratchthatitch.
\n
However, as ameme stockand cultural phenomenon it's hard to argue against what AMC has done to translate its popularity among retail investors into a legitimate market share grab in the recovery process. No company has seen its market cap inflate as much as AMC has this year, but this is also a stock that enters the fourth quarter with a stock price that is a little more than half of what it was when it peaked in June. In short, it would have to double from here to revisit its all-time high -- but isn't that always possible with the poster child for 2021 momentum stocks?
\n
Fundamentally speaking, the catalysts are also there.Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsshattered box office records over Labor Day weekend, but the initial excitement fizzled out when subsequent weekends were abysmal. However, it's all about the pipeline. Studios pushed out September releases into October and beyond when the delta variant resulted in a spike in COVID-19 cases. We're now seeing the highly anticipated films start to come back, starting with the new James Bond movie next weekend. The fourth quarter should be a lot stronger for the industry than the naysayers think, and if AMC stock gets back to where it was in early June -- fundamentally earned this time -- it will have to double from here.
\n
3. Upstart
\n
I love when industries ripe for disruption get upended, and that's what Upstart is doing with the lending industry. Upstart usesartificial intelligenceand machine learning to make better calls on assessing risk profiles and creditworthiness for folks who don't typically get approved for consumer loans.
\n
Growth is bonkers. Revenue seemed to be decelerating sharply, with slowing growth spurts of 89%, 52%, and 27% in the last three years respectively. Now that consumers are becoming aware of Upstart as a better alternative to payday loans and other predatory lending products, business is skyrocketing. Revenue rose 90% in the first quarter, only to surge 1,018% in its latest report. And no, that's not a typo.
\n
With Upstart now expanding into the auto loans market, the potential for its better alternative to stodgy credit scores is just getting started. Its stock has lagged the market year to date. But zooming out provides more context: Since Guardant Health's initial public offering in late 2018, it has easily outperformed the market. The company is well positioned to shatter average market returns in the long run. That's why adding shares of this healthcare stock while they are down could help you retire with a handsome pile of cash.
\n
2. Pinterest
\n
Add Pinterest to the list of companies that haven't performed well this year. The social media company benefited from people spending more time at home -- and on mobile devices -- during the pandemic. But the market seems to think Pinterest won't perform as well post-pandemic. The company's stock is down 15.4% year to date. With that said, long-term investors should keep their eyes on the prize. There are excellent reasons why Pinterest is likely to perform well for many years to come.
\n
While the social media industry is highly competitive, Pinterest isn't just a copycat of its peers. As a social discovery company, it offers users an experience they can't find on any other social media sites. The selling point of the platform is that it helps users discover ideas and find inspiration pertaining to all sorts of creative endeavors and day-to-day activities, from cooking to fashion and much else besides. Users can save pictures and build a collection of these so-called \"pins\" over time.
\n
\n
In a world increasingly divided by political and social tensions, Pinterest prides itself on being a place where its users can, at least temporarily, avoid these tensions. As the company's CEO Ben Silbermann said: \"Pinterest is not the place to read the news or debate politics with your cousin or compare yourself to other people. It is a positive place to be inspired and get ideas in your future life.\" As of the end of the second quarter, the company had 454 million monthly active users, 9% higher than the year-ago period. That's a mere fraction of the number of MAUs on Facebook's family of apps (3.51 billion as of the end of the second quarter).
\n
In other words, there remains significant whitespace for Pinterest. Thanks to its unique business model and positive spin, the company can continue growing its user base. And with an increasing band of pinners, Pinterest's top line will remain on an upward trajectory. The platform is a great place to run targeted ads thanks to the analytical tools (including customer conversion metrics, automation tools, etc.) it provides that help businesses fine-tune their ad campaigns.
\n
More users on the platform will attract more businesses looking to reach customers in a bit of a network effect. The result could be higher revenue, higher earnings, and a soaring stock price. In short, even with its shares getting hammered recently, Pinterest remains an excellent buy-and-hold stock and a great component of any retirement-focused portfolio.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Investing in These 2 Top Stocks Could Make You a Millionaire Retiree
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nInvesting in These 2 Top Stocks Could Make You a Millionaire Retiree\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-09-30 23:09 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Most people want to be financially secure in retirement. The social media company benefited from people spending more time at home -- and on mobile devices -- during the pandemic. But the market seems to think Pinterest won't perform as well post-pandemic. The company's stock is down 15.4% year to date. With that said, long-term investors should keep their eyes on the prize. There are excellent reasons why Pinterest is likely to perform well for many years to come.\nWhile the social media industry is highly competitive, Pinterest isn't just a copycat of its peers. As a social discovery company, it offers users an experience they can't find on any other social media sites. The selling point of the platform is that it helps users discover ideas and find inspiration pertaining to all sorts of creative endeavors and day-to-day activities, from cooking to fashion and much else besides. Users can save pictures and build a collection of these so-called \"pins\" over time.\nImage source: Getty Images\nIn a world increasingly divided by political and social tensions, Pinterest prides itself on being a place where its users can, at least temporarily, avoid these tensions. That's a mere fraction of the number of MAUs on Facebook's family of apps (3.51 billion as of the end of the second quarter).\nIn other words, there remains significant whitespace for Pinterest. Thanks to its unique business model and positive spin, the company can continue growing its user base. And with an increasing band of pinners, Pinterest's top line will remain on an upward trajectory. The platform is a great place to run targeted ads thanks to the analytical tools (including customer conversion metrics, automation tools, etc.) it provides that help businesses fine-tune their ad campaigns.\nMore users on the platform will attract more businesses looking to reach customers in a bit of a network effect. The result could be higher revenue, higher earnings, and a soaring stock price. In short, even with its shares getting hammered recently, Pinterest remains an excellent buy-and-hold stock and a great component of any retirement-focused portfolio.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":341,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":868529891,"gmtCreate":1632675484213,"gmtModify":1632798643398,"author":{"id":"3569586413767440","authorId":"3569586413767440","name":"HoeMeng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/204cb10cf0f04fed8899705e7a54ea54","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy ","listText":"Buy ","text":"Buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/868529891","repostId":"1107241271","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1107241271","pubTimestamp":1632642043,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1107241271?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-09-26 15:40","market":"sh","language":"en","title":"Why Bitcoin, Ethereum And Dogecoin Could Be In For A Bumpy Road Ahead","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1107241271","media":"Benzinga","summary":"Thousands of traders just like you are earning second income stream trading options!
The stock has been a seven-bagger through the first three quarters of 2021, but the runway is long for this disruptive jet.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Stocks That Can Double Again in the Fourth Quarter
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Stocks That Can Double Again in the Fourth Quarter\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-10-02 13:35 GMT+8 The motley fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Key Points\n\nCrocs has jacked up its guidance every quarter this year. In short, it would have to double from here to revisit its all-time high -- but isn't that always possible with the poster child for 2021 momentum stocks?\nFundamentally speaking, the catalysts are also there.Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsshattered box office records over Labor Day weekend, but the initial excitement fizzled out when subsequent weekends were abysmal. However, it's all about the pipeline. Studios pushed out September releases into October and beyond when the delta variant resulted in a spike in COVID-19 cases. We're now seeing the highly anticipated films start to come back, starting with the new James Bond movie next weekend. The fourth quarter should be a lot stronger for the industry than the naysayers think, and if AMC stock gets back to where it was in early June -- fundamentally earned this time -- it will have to double from here.\n3. Upstart\nI love when industries ripe for disruption get upended, and that's what Upstart is doing with the lending industry. Upstart usesartificial intelligenceand machine learning to make better calls on assessing risk profiles and creditworthiness for folks who don't typically get approved for consumer loans.\nGrowth is bonkers. And no, that's not a typo.\nWith Upstart now expanding into the auto loans market, the potential for its better alternative to stodgy credit scores is just getting started. The stock has been a seven-bagger through the first three quarters of 2021, but the runway is long for this disruptive jet.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":577,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":866986428,"gmtCreate":1632723213664,"gmtModify":1632798291855,"author":{"id":"3569586413767440","authorId":"3569586413767440","name":"HoeMeng","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/204cb10cf0f04fed8899705e7a54ea54","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Buy ","listText":"Buy ","text":"Buy","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/866986428","repostId":"1163524833","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1163524833","pubTimestamp":1632714280,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1163524833?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-09-27 11:44","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Marathon Digital Stock Benefits From Bitcoin Ties","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1163524833","media":"InvestorPlace","summary":"MARA stock has buyers lurking on dips, but use caution with this crypto-related equity.\n\nThe discuss","content":"
\n MARA stock has buyers lurking on dips, but use caution with this crypto-related equity.\n
\n
The discussion today is about the opportunities that lie inMarathon Digital(NASDAQ:MARA) stock. A leaked Citibank report shows that the analysts over there think that the price could climb toward $300,000. Billionaire Tim Draper has gone on record multiple times saying Bitcoin prices will eclipse $250,000 by the end of 2022.
\n
And, in the most bullish call of them all, Anthony Pompliano– co-founder and partner at Morgan Creek Digital Assets – has said Bitcoin prices could soar to $1 million per token in the long run.
\n
Big numbers. Yes. But can Bitcoin really soar toward $200,000? $300,000? Even $500,000 or higher in the long run?
\n
Our short answer:Yes.
\n
And the reasoning is pretty simple. Bitcoin is the digital version of gold. The gold market is an $11 trillion market. If Bitcoin gets that big, you’re talking an $11 trillion market on 21 million tokens, which implies a price per token of about $500,000.
\n
That’s the back-of-the-envelope reasoning and math behind the $500,000 price target.
\n
Of course, that model rests on some major assumptions. One, Bitcoin is the digital version of gold, and two, the Bitcoin market will be as big as the gold market.
\n
We think both are fair assumptions.
\n
The modern value of gold derives from scarcity. Sure, maybe once upon a time, gold was used to barter for goods or used to make swords and shields. Not too long ago, it was used in some semiconductor chips.
\n
But those days are gone. Today, gold is used for nothing. Its value is in the fact that it has finite supply and, therefore, is a good store of value.
\n
The same is true for Bitcoin. In fact, it’s even more true for Bitcoin. There are, by definition, only 21 million Bitcoins in the world. There will never be more than that. Meanwhile, in the gold market, more gold mining efforts can always be put online to increase supply as demand increases.
\n
In other words, Bitcoin has more scarcity than gold and, therefore, isn’t just the digital version of gold – it is a digital and superior version of gold.
\n
Meanwhile, Bitcoin is digital, while gold is physical, and the whole world is pivoting toward digitization these days. Media is digital. Shopping is digital. Entertainment is digital. Communications are digital. Work is digital. Health is digital. Everything is digital.
\n
In that world, money will inevitably become digital, too. Indeed, that’s already happening. Venmo. Cash App. PayPal. SoFi. All of these digital money apps are soaring in usage right now, while the volume of cash transactions is plummeting.
\n
Therefore, Bitcoin is gold made for the modern world. You can’t send gold through a social media platform, or a streaming service, or use it buy a good online. But you can use Bitcoin for that.
\n
To that extent, it’s easy to see why folks will ditch their physical store of value (gold) for a digital store of value (Bitcoin) – and why the Bitcoin market will become as big as (if not bigger than) the gold market.
\n
All in all, we think the fundamental reasoning underlying the Bitcoin market supports that Bitcoin prices will trend towards $500,000 in the long run.
\n
How long will it take to get there? No one really knows. Our best guess is about 10 years – and if so, you’re talking about an asset that will increase 10X in value in 10 years.
\n
That’s an amazing return.
","source":"lsy1606302653667","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
If Bitcoin Really Is Digital Gold, Then $500,000 Is the Next Stop
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nIf Bitcoin Really Is Digital Gold, Then $500,000 Is the Next Stop\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-09-24 11:37 GMT+8 investorplace\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Everyone loves to throw out long-term price targets on Bitcoin.\nARK Invest fund manager Cathie Wood last week reiterated her firm’s call for Bitcoin to trend toward $500,000 per coin over the next ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"COIN":"Coinbase Global, Inc."},"source_url":"https://investorplace.com/hypergrowthinvesting/2021/09/if-bitcoin-really-is-digital-gold-then-500000-is-the-next-stop/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1199759162","content_text":"Everyone loves to throw out long-term price targets on Bitcoin.\nARK Invest fund manager Cathie Wood last week reiterated her firm’s call for Bitcoin to trend toward $500,000 per coin over the next several years. If Bitcoin gets that big, you’re talking an $11 trillion market on 21 million tokens, which implies a price per token of about $500,000.\nThat’s the back-of-the-envelope reasoning and math behind the $500,000 price target.\nOf course, that model rests on some major assumptions. One, Bitcoin is the digital version of gold, and two, the Bitcoin market will be as big as the gold market.\nWe think both are fair assumptions.\nThe modern value of gold derives from scarcity. Sure, maybe once upon a time, gold was used to barter for goods or used to make swords and shields. Not too long ago, it was used in some semiconductor chips.\nBut those days are gone. Today, gold is used for nothing. Its value is in the fact that it has finite supply and, therefore, is a good store of value.\nThe same is true for Bitcoin. In fact, it’s even more true for Bitcoin. There are, by definition, only 21 million Bitcoins in the world. There will never be more than that. Meanwhile, in the gold market, more gold mining efforts can always be put online to increase supply as demand increases.\nIn other words, Bitcoin has more scarcity than gold and, therefore, isn’t just the digital version of gold – it is a digital and superior version of gold.\nMeanwhile, Bitcoin is digital, while gold is physical, and the whole world is pivoting toward digitization these days. Media is digital. Shopping is digital. Entertainment is digital. Communications are digital. Work is digital. Health is digital. Everything is digital.\nIn that world, money will inevitably become digital, too. Indeed, that’s already happening. Venmo. Cash App. PayPal. SoFi. All of these digital money apps are soaring in usage right now, while the volume of cash transactions is plummeting.\nTherefore, Bitcoin is gold made for the modern world. You can’t send gold through a social media platform, or a streaming service, or use it buy a good online. But you can use Bitcoin for that.\nTo that extent, it’s easy to see why folks will ditch their physical store of value (gold) for a digital store of value (Bitcoin) – and why the Bitcoin market will become as big as (if not bigger than) the gold market.\nAll in all, we think the fundamental reasoning underlying the Bitcoin market supports that Bitcoin prices will trend towards $500,000 in the long run.\nHow long will it take to get there? No one really knows. Our best guess is about 10 years – and if so, you’re talking about an asset that will increase 10X in value in 10 years.\nThat’s an amazing return.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":274,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
