More than 129 million Americans have received Moderna's (NASDAQ:MRNA) vaccine. So far, the vaccines have appeared to be both highly effective and safe.
\n
However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is convening an \"emergency meeting\" of an advisory panel on June 18. The panel will discuss higher-than-expected reports of heart inflammation issues in young men following the second dose of the two messenger RNA (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccines. How worrisome are these heart issues reported with Pfizer's and Moderna's COVID-19 vaccines?
\n
Behind the concerns
\n
The CDC and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) jointly run the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which tracks reports of any side effects after individuals have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Most adverse events reported in VAERS aren't serious.
\n
However, the CDC noticed that higher numbers of myocarditis (inflammation of the middle layer of the heart wall) and pericarditis (inflammation of the pericardium tissue that surrounds the heart) were being reported for young men than would be expected based on the number of vaccines administered. These issues were especially notable after the second dose of the mRNA vaccines.
\n
As of May 31, 372 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis had been reported in VAERS after the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Another 201 cases of heart inflammation issues had been reported after the second dose of Moderna's vaccine. Nearly 80% of these reported cases occurred in men, with a median age of 24.
\n
The potential issues aren't limited to the United States. Earlier this month, Israel's Health Ministry announced that there was a \"probable link\" between heart inflammation issues observed primarily in young men and receiving the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
\n
Reason to worry?
\n
The CDC hasn't established any causal link between either of the mRNA vaccines and heart inflammation issues occurring in young men at this point. Moderna issued a public statement last week that confirmed it hasn't found any causal association between its vaccine and heart inflammation \"after carefully reviewing the safety data to date.\"
\n
The number of heart inflammation issues reported thus far, while higher than expected, is still really low overall. The CDC specifically stated that \"these reports are rare, given the number of vaccine doses administered.\"
\n
It's also important to note that most individuals affected by heart inflammation issues were treated successfully. Indeed, the CDC said, \"Most patients who received care responded well to medicine and rest and quickly felt better.\"
\n
Based on what is known now, there's no reason for individuals receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to worry. Finding rare side effects with a vaccine or a drug is launched occurs frequently. Usually, the actions taken include revising guidelines for evaluating the benefit-risk balance for affected groups and the follow-up monitoring for these groups.
\n
That could be what the CDC advisory panel that's scheduled to meet later this week will do after examining the available data. It's also possible that the panel will need more data before it makes any recommendations.
\n
Minimal movement
\n
Should investors worry about what all of this might mean for Pfizer, BioNTech, and/or Moderna? More than 129 million Americans have received Moderna's (NASDAQ:MRNA) vaccine. So far, the vaccines have appeared to be both highly effective and safe.\nHowever, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is convening an \"emergency meeting\" of an advisory panel on June 18. The panel will discuss higher-than-expected reports of heart inflammation issues in young men following the second dose of the two messenger RNA (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccines. How worrisome are these heart issues reported with Pfizer's and Moderna's COVID-19 vaccines?\nBehind the concerns\nThe CDC and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) jointly run the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which tracks reports of any side effects after individuals have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Most adverse events reported in VAERS aren't serious.\nHowever, the CDC noticed that higher numbers of myocarditis (inflammation of the middle layer of the heart wall) and pericarditis (inflammation of the pericardium tissue that surrounds the heart) were being reported for young men than would be expected based on the number of vaccines administered. These issues were especially notable after the second dose of the mRNA vaccines.\nAs of May 31, 372 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis had been reported in VAERS after the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Another 201 cases of heart inflammation issues had been reported after the second dose of Moderna's vaccine. Nearly 80% of these reported cases occurred in men, with a median age of 24.\nThe potential issues aren't limited to the United States. Earlier this month, Israel's Health Ministry announced that there was a \"probable link\" between heart inflammation issues observed primarily in young men and receiving the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.\nReason to worry?\nThe CDC hasn't established any causal link between either of the mRNA vaccines and heart inflammation issues occurring in young men at this point. Moderna issued a public statement last week that confirmed it hasn't found any causal association between its vaccine and heart inflammation \"after carefully reviewing the safety data to date.\"\nThe number of heart inflammation issues reported thus far, while higher than expected, is still really low overall. The CDC specifically stated that \"these reports are rare, given the number of vaccine doses administered.\"\nIt's also important to note that most individuals affected by heart inflammation issues were treated successfully. Indeed, the CDC said, \"Most patients who received care responded well to medicine and rest and quickly felt better.\"\nBased on what is known now, there's no reason for individuals receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to worry. Finding rare side effects with a vaccine or a drug is launched occurs frequently. Usually, the actions taken include revising guidelines for evaluating the benefit-risk balance for affected groups and the follow-up monitoring for these groups.\nThat could be what the CDC advisory panel that's scheduled to meet later this week will do after examining the available data. It's also possible that the panel will need more data before it makes any recommendations.\nMinimal movement\nShould investors worry about what all of this might mean for Pfizer, BioNTech, and/or Moderna? No. Most investors haven't been worried, as evidenced by the minimal movement of the drug stocks after the initial CDC advisory committee meeting last week where the heart inflammation issues were discussed.\nGranted, it's possible that a clear link between the mRNA vaccines and heart inflammation issues in young men could be established. Even if that happens, though, the issues are rare enough that the number of doses administered of these vaccines probably wouldn't be impacted very much.\nThe emergence of new coronavirus strains makes it far more likely that more mRNA vaccine doses will be needed in the future. It actually started spiking about four days ago,” Zhen said in an interview Thursday on CNBC’s“The Exchange.”\n“The volume today has been insane, but we see a huge spike in advance of the run-up of the stock yesterday,” he said.\nZhen was referencing Wednesday’s major late-day gain in GameStop shares, which ultimately closed higher by more than 100%.The stock rallied further during Thursday’s volatile session and was halted multiple times. It ended up closing Thursday at $108.73 per share, up 18.6%. It had reached as high as $184.68 intraday.\nThe sudden surge followed news Tuesday that the company’s chief financial officer, Jim Bell, plans to resign in late March. Media reports suggested the departure could be linked to board member Ryan Cohen’s desire to see GameStop accelerate its digital transformation.\nThe stock’s big two-day move puzzled some on Wall Street, and CNBC’s Jim Cramer contended earlier Thursday that a CFO shakeup is unlikely to be a catalyst for such a significant rally. Whatever the cause, the GameStop resurgence calls to mind the Reddit-sparked trading mania that first engulfed the stock in January, when it soared to $483 per share.\n“What happened with GameStop when it went to $480 was one of the dumbest, most nonsensical things that I’ve seen in quite some time. This is the second dumbest,” Loop Capital Markets analyst Anthony Chukumba said Thursday on CNBC’s“Power Lunch.”He recently dropped his GameStop coverage, citing its disconnection from fundamentals.\n“I’m gobsmacked now, just as I was a few weeks ago,” Chukumba added.\nThe late January surge in GameStop put financial pressure on hedge funds and other investors who shorted the stock, which is essentially a bet that it will decrease in price.\nThe saga has in some ways served as a wake-up call for the hedge fund industry, according to Gabe Plotkin, founder of Melvin Capital. Plotkin’s fund got caught on the wrong end of the GameStop trade January.\nGoing forward, Plotkin told Congress earlier this month that he expects funds, including his own, to more closely monitor social media sites now that the power of forums like Reddit’s WallStreetBets have been demonstrated.\n“I think they saw an opportunity to drive the price of a stock higher and today with social media and other memes, there’s the ability to collectively do so,” he said. “That was a risk factor that, up until recently, we had never seen.”\nZhen co-founded Thinknum in 2014,according to his LinkedIn, but the company’s Reddit-specific dataset went live in late January as the GameStop frenzy was unfolding.\nAccording to a blog post on Thinknum’s website, the dataset “tracks the number of times NYSE and NASDAQ tickers are mentioned in the top 100 posts on r/WallStreetBets and r/Stocks in real time.”\nIn Thursday’s CNBC interview, Zhen stressed that Thinknum does not claim for its online datasets to be predictive of stocks poised to rally.\n“We provide a service where investors can track when the number of mentions on Reddit for any particular stock is increasing. We don’t interpret or analyze the data. We don’t claim the stock will go up,” said Zhen, who used to work at a hedge fund.\n“But what we are saying is that there’s a lot of chatter around the stock today ... and if you’re an investor, you need to pay attention,” he said.\nIn addition to the recently launched Reddit offering, Zhen said Thinknum has about 30 other datasets, such as those focused on product pricing and where companies are opening stores. “Reddit is one oversized sample recently but there are many other data trails that good investors pay attention to,” Zhen said.\nThe Securities and Exchange Commission said in January that it was reviewing the GameStop saga. When asked by CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin asked whether Thinknum has been contacted by the SEC, Zhen said: “We have gotten many inquiries from government bodies, which I can’t comment on specifically.”\nThinknum also has seen increased interest from investors and corporations, Zhen said. “The interest has been substantial. It’s the most I’ve seen in six years doing this.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":171,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":366441228,"gmtCreate":1614557708664,"gmtModify":1703478138204,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/366441228","repostId":"1117820997","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1117820997","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1614337504,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1117820997?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-02-26 19:05","market":"fut","language":"en","title":"Coinbase IPO: 5 things to know about the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1117820997","media":"MarketWatch","summary":"A long-awaited public offering of Coinbase Global Inc. appears near after the cryptocurrency trading","content":"
A long-awaited public offering of Coinbase Global Inc. appears near after the cryptocurrency trading platform filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday.
\n
Coinbase plans to list on the Nasdaq Inc. exchange under the ticker symbol “COIN,” with the aim of employing a nontraditional direct listing to take itself public. This method means it won’t raise any new money, similar to approaches used by Palantir Technologies,Slack Technologies and Spotify Technology in recent years.
\n
Here’s what to know about the popular trading platform ahead of its public offering.
\n
What is Coinbase?
\n
The Silicon Valley crypto exchange was co-founded in 2012 by Brian Armstrong, 38, who runs the platform chief executive. Fred Ehrsam, a Coinbase director, also helped to create the company.
\n
There are two class of Coinbase shares. Armstrong owns 11% of the Class A shares and 22% of the Class B shares, while Ehrsam owns 11.4% of the Class A and 9% of the Class B.
\n
According to Forbes, Armstrong’s networth is currently $6.5 billion based on his ownership in the company, which is likely to increase if the direct listing goes off successfully.
\n
Coinbase bills itself as a bet on the rapidly growing cryptoeconomy, which starts with the No. 1 crypto asset bitcoin but goes well beyond that, Armstrong and company argue.
\n
COINBASE S-1
\n
Bitcoin prices have gained attention as it has soared to repeated records, most recently touching a recent peak above $58,000 over the weekend before beginning to give up some gains in recent trade.
\n
Last week, bitcoin hit a market value of $1 trillion and even though the asset created by a person or persons known as Satoshi Nakamoto represents about 70% of the total crypto market, there are still a number of other popular crypto assets trading on Coinbase, including ether on Ethereum’s blockchain, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin,to name a few.
\n
Who else owns Coinbase?
\n
Venture-capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, is the largest owner of Coinbase, boasting about 25% of Class A shares and14% of Class B. And Marc Andreessen, head of the venture capital outfit, sits on Coinbase’s board.
\n
Coinbase has an ambitions echo those of Robinhood Markets
\n
“Coinbase is company with an ambitious vision: to create more economic freedom for every person and business,” Armstrong wrote in a letter appended to the company’s public-filing paperwork with the SEC.
\n
Biggest risk factor
\n
No doubt the biggest risk factor in Coinbase is that it is a bet on an unproven asset class that was created just over a decade ago. Coinbase attempts to make it clear that its fate is linked to the prospects for Bitcoin and ethereum and the thousands of other alternative coins that have been written into existence.
\n
But a decline in interest and tough regulations in the U.S. and elsewhere could wallop the exchange platform.
\n
Here’s now Coinbase explains it:
\n
“There is no assurance that any supported crypto asset will maintain its value or that there will be meaningful levels of trading activities. In the event that the price of crypto assets or the demand for trading crypto assets decline, our business, operating results, and financial condition would be adversely affected. A majority of our net revenue is from transactions in Bitcoin and ethereum. If demand for these crypto assets declines and is not replaced by new demand for crypto assets, our business, operating results, and financial condition could be adversely affected,” Coinbase writes in its S-1 filing.
\n
How large is Coinbase?
\n
The crypto exchange platform ranks No. 3 among the largest digital asset exchanges in the world, according to data site CoinMarketCap.com. That ranking puts it behind Binance, based in Seattle and Huobi Global, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in China.
\n
COINMARKETCAP.COM
\n
In the U.S. Coinbase is by far the most well-known crypto platform but there are competitors, including Gemini, run by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who famously used their Facebook Inc. settlements to invest in bitcoins.
\n
Kraken is another popular crypto platform and direct competitor in the U.S.
\n
Odds & Ends
\n
The company in its public filing offered a number of homages to the founder or founders of bitcoin and the digital currency age in its submission.
\n
For example, it listed the genesis block associated with Satoshi Nakamoto at “1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa,” whose white paper back in 2008 set bitcoin in motion. (Additionally, a “Satoshi” is the smallest unit of bitcoin—0.00000001 BTC).
\n
The company offers no physical address for its headquarters in California, citing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced a number of companies to have most, if not all, of its staffers work remotely. For that reason, Coinbase refers to itself as “a remote-first company.”
\n
However, having no address to some was viewed as aligning with the decentralized nature of blockchain and bitcoins.
\n
The company also offered a handy primer on cryptocurrency terms, including defining terms like “hodl,” which have become popular in crypto circles. Hodl was accidentally coined in a 2013 Reddit and means long-term holder of an investment.
\n
SEC
\n
Armstrong crypto charity
\n
Back in 2018, Armstrong kicked off GiveCrypto.org, which makes direct cash transfers to people living in poverty.
\n
“People who invested early in crypto have amassed an enormous amount of wealth in a relatively short amount of time. Yet the reputation of the crypto community has been dominated by images of ‘bros in Lambos,’ whose antics get a lot of attention,”wrote Armstrong in a separate blog post on Mediumin 2018.
\n
Armstrong has reportedly donated at least $1 million to GiveCrypto.
","source":"market_watch","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Coinbase IPO: 5 things to know about the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nCoinbase IPO: 5 things to know about the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-02-26 19:05 GMT+8 MarketWatch\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
A long-awaited public offering of Coinbase Global Inc. appears near after the cryptocurrency trading platform filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday.\nCoinbase plans to...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"GBTC":"Grayscale Bitcoin Trust","SPOT":"Spotify Technology S.A.","SQ":"Block","PLTR":"Palantir Technologies Inc.","PYPL":"PayPal","NDAQ":"纳斯达克OMX交易所","TSLA":"特斯拉"},"source_url":"https://www.marketwatch.com/story/coinbase-ipo-5-things-to-know-about-the-u-s-cryptocurrency-exchange-11614290534?mod=home-page","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/599a65733b8245fcf7868668ef9ad712","article_id":"1117820997","content_text":"A long-awaited public offering of Coinbase Global Inc. appears near after the cryptocurrency trading platform filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday.\nCoinbase plans to list on the Nasdaq Inc. exchange under the ticker symbol “COIN,” with the aim of employing a nontraditional direct listing to take itself public. Armstrong owns 11% of the Class A shares and 22% of the Class B shares, while Ehrsam owns 11.4% of the Class A and 9% of the Class B.\nAccording to Forbes, Armstrong’s networth is currently $6.5 billion based on his ownership in the company, which is likely to increase if the direct listing goes off successfully.\nCoinbase bills itself as a bet on the rapidly growing cryptoeconomy, which starts with the No. 1 crypto asset bitcoin but goes well beyond that, Armstrong and company argue.\nCOINBASE S-1\nBitcoin prices have gained attention as it has soared to repeated records, most recently touching a recent peak above $58,000 over the weekend before beginning to give up some gains in recent trade.\nLast week, bitcoin hit a market value of $1 trillion and even though the asset created by a person or persons known as Satoshi Nakamoto represents about 70% of the total crypto market, there are still a number of other popular crypto assets trading on Coinbase, including ether on Ethereum’s blockchain, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin,to name a few.\nWho else owns Coinbase?\nVenture-capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, is the largest owner of Coinbase, boasting about 25% of Class A shares and14% of Class B. And Marc Andreessen, head of the venture capital outfit, sits on Coinbase’s board.\nCoinbase has an ambitions echo those of Robinhood Markets\n“Coinbase is company with an ambitious vision: to create more economic freedom for every person and business,” Armstrong wrote in a letter appended to the company’s public-filing paperwork with the SEC.\nBiggest risk factor\nNo doubt the biggest risk factor in Coinbase is that it is a bet on an unproven asset class that was created just over a decade ago. Coinbase attempts to make it clear that its fate is linked to the prospects for Bitcoin and ethereum and the thousands of other alternative coins that have been written into existence.\nBut a decline in interest and tough regulations in the U.S. and elsewhere could wallop the exchange platform.\nHere’s now Coinbase explains it:\n“There is no assurance that any supported crypto asset will maintain its value or that there will be meaningful levels of trading activities. In the event that the price of crypto assets or the demand for trading crypto assets decline, our business, operating results, and financial condition would be adversely affected. A majority of our net revenue is from transactions in Bitcoin and ethereum. If demand for these crypto assets declines and is not replaced by new demand for crypto assets, our business, operating results, and financial condition could be adversely affected,” Coinbase writes in its S-1 filing.\nHow large is Coinbase?\nThe crypto exchange platform ranks No. 3 among the largest digital asset exchanges in the world, according to data site CoinMarketCap.com. That ranking puts it behind Binance, based in Seattle and Huobi Global, a Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange that was founded in China.\nCOINMARKETCAP.COM\nIn the U.S. Coinbase is by far the most well-known crypto platform but there are competitors, including Gemini, run by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who famously used their Facebook Inc. settlements to invest in bitcoins.\nKraken is another popular crypto platform and direct competitor in the U.S.\nOdds & Ends\nThe company in its public filing offered a number of homages to the founder or founders of bitcoin and the digital currency age in its submission.\nFor example, it listed the genesis block associated with Satoshi Nakamoto at “1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa,” whose white paper back in 2008 set bitcoin in motion. (Additionally, a “Satoshi” is the smallest unit of bitcoin—0.00000001 BTC).\nThe company offers no physical address for its headquarters in California, citing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced a number of companies to have most, if not all, of its staffers work remotely. For that reason, Coinbase refers to itself as “a remote-first company.”\nHowever, having no address to some was viewed as aligning with the decentralized nature of blockchain and bitcoins.\nThe company also offered a handy primer on cryptocurrency terms, including defining terms like “hodl,” which have become popular in crypto circles. Hodl was accidentally coined in a 2013 Reddit and means long-term holder of an investment.\nSEC\nArmstrong crypto charity\nBack in 2018, Armstrong kicked off GiveCrypto.org, which makes direct cash transfers to people living in poverty.\n“People who invested early in crypto have amassed an enormous amount of wealth in a relatively short amount of time. Yet the reputation of the crypto community has been dominated by images of ‘bros in Lambos,’ whose antics get a lot of attention,”wrote Armstrong in a separate blog post on Mediumin 2018.\nArmstrong has reportedly donated at least $1 million to GiveCrypto.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":113,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":693513488,"gmtCreate":1640049028413,"gmtModify":1640049028537,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Very godo","listText":"Very godo","text":"Very godo","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/693513488","repostId":"1198736123","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":495,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":693519073,"gmtCreate":1640048873001,"gmtModify":1640048873183,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Yay","listText":"Yay","text":"Yay","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/693519073","repostId":"1198736123","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":636,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":362486010,"gmtCreate":1614658354030,"gmtModify":1703479463680,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thats not good news","listText":"Thats not good news","text":"Thats not good news","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/362486010","repostId":"2116563789","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2116563789","kind":"highlight","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1614649483,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2116563789?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-02 09:44","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Oil extends losses on worry over possible supply increase from OPEC","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2116563789","media":"Reuters","summary":"TOKYO, March 2 (Reuters) - Oil prices fell more than 1% on Tuesday, extending losses that began last","content":"
TOKYO, March 2 (Reuters) - Oil prices fell more than 1% on Tuesday, extending losses that began last week, as investors unwound long positions on concern that OPEC may agree to increase global supply in a meeting this week and Chinese demand may be slipping.

Brent crude dropped 78 cents, or 1.2%, to $62.91 a barrel by 0138 GMT, after losing 1.1% the previous day. That includes allowing listings of dual-class shares and attracting U.S.-listed Chinese companies to seek a secondary listing in Hong Kong, he said.\nHong Kong in 2020 was one of the top markets for listings globally as Chinese firms such as e-commerce giant JD.com and gaming company NetEase raised funds through secondary listings.\nIn total, the city’s stock exchange saw 132 initial public offerings worth $32.1 billion, and 199 further offerings worth $62.9 billion last year, according to data compiled by consultancy PwC.\nWith such “robust” capital markets activity, raising the trading stamp duty may offer Hong Kong “a quick solution” to increase its tax revenue in the short term, said Stanley Ho, a partner for corporate tax advisory at consultancy KPMG China.\n“However, it is also important for Hong Kong’s capital markets to stay competitive with global financial markets, many of which are trending towards reducing or removing such duties,” Ho said in a statement after Chan’s budget speech.\nChan said he remains confident of Hong Kong’s prospects as an international financial center.\nHe explained that the government is working on promoting Hong Kong as a center for sustainable and green finance, developing further the city’s fixed income markets and encouraging more activity in the asset and wealth management sectors.\nOn the stock market sell-off after his announcement of the trading tax hike, Chan said Hong Kong wasn’t the only one experiencing a “downward adjustment” following a previous run-up.\n“So, I would not be bothered by temporary fluctuations in the market. What we believe is we continue to work hard to enhance the offering of our market to further enhance the competitiveness and attractiveness of the Hong Kong market,” he said.\n“We will continue to attract inflow of international capital.”","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":323,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":693513171,"gmtCreate":1640048947909,"gmtModify":1640048948001,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Ah","listText":"Ah","text":"Ah","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/693513171","repostId":"2193982135","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":571,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":185646473,"gmtCreate":1623648388392,"gmtModify":1631892186656,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":1,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/185646473","repostId":"1108874297","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":262,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":691563288,"gmtCreate":1640221468491,"gmtModify":1640221517114,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wa","listText":"Wa","text":"Wa","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/691563288","repostId":"2193118014","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":535,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":691563312,"gmtCreate":1640221449444,"gmtModify":1640221474523,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Snsn","listText":"Snsn","text":"Snsn","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/691563312","repostId":"2193113565","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":745,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":691569715,"gmtCreate":1640221440949,"gmtModify":1640221473825,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"A","listText":"A","text":"A","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/691569715","repostId":"2193211571","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":562,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":693513391,"gmtCreate":1640048935495,"gmtModify":1640048935590,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Aa","listText":"Aa","text":"Aa","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/693513391","repostId":"2193135733","repostType":2,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":899,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":693519476,"gmtCreate":1640048920212,"gmtModify":1640048920306,"author":{"id":"3568674001722127","authorId":"3568674001722127","name":"blee047","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/2272fea5e036f865e5904a18ededa7b1","crmLevel":6,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3568674001722127","authorIdStr":"3568674001722127"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wh","listText":"Wh","text":"Wh","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"ht
