Ms. Khan is a former House antitrust staffer who worked on the big tech investigation. She is expected to refocus the agency’s enforcement efforts on anticompetitive problems.</p>\n<p>But the White House suggested further work might be needed on some of the legislation, reflecting potential problems ahead.</p>\n<p>“The president is encouraged by the bipartisan work to address problems created by big tech platforms,” a White House official said. “We hope the legislative process continues to move forward on these bipartisan proposals, and we look forward to working with Congress to continue developing these ideas.”</p>\n<p>The legislative effort also has run into fierce opposition from many big tech companies and their Washington allies on both sides of the aisle.</p>\n<p>Google pushed lawmakers to delay action on the bills pending more debate. “American consumers and small businesses would be shocked at how these bills would break many of their favorite services,” said Mark Isakowitz, vice president of government affairs and public policy for Google. “This would all dramatically undermine U.S. technology leadership, damage the way small businesses connect with consumers and raise serious privacy and security concerns.”</p>\n<p>Apple released a report on Wednesday arguing against provisions of the American Choice and Innovation Online Act that would allow users to download apps onto their iPhoneswithout having to use Apple’s App Store. The company said that would harm customers by threatening their privacy and parental controls and potentially exposing users’ data to ransomware attacks.</p>\n<p>Many Republicans also voiced concern that the package was overreaching by handing too much new power to government agencies, while a few tech-friendly Democrats raised concerns that the legislation had not been adequately refined.</p>\n<p>Rep. The analyst established a bull case target of $1,250 upping it from the previous $1,000 target.</p><p><b>The Tesla Thesis:</b>The Elon Musk-led automaker now exceeds the one million delivery threshold in 2022 and could approach five million deliveries annually by the end of the decade, if global EV demand maintains the current pace, Ives wrote in a note Thursday.</p><p>“We believe overall that EVs, which make up 3% of global auto sales today, could reach 5% by the end of 2021 and 10% by 2025,” he said.</p><p>Ives termed Tesla’s competitors like<b>Nio Inc</b>NIO 1.98%,<b>Xpeng Inc</b>XPEV 2.54%, and<b>Li Auto Inc</b>LI 2.39% in the key Chinese market as “impressive.”</p><p>“There are 150+ auto makers aggressively going after the EV opportunity globally, right now in the EV market we believe it's Tesla's world and everyone else is paying rent.”</p><p>Wedbush expects 40% of Tesla’s overall delivery sales would come from China, followed by Europe and the U.S.</p><p>“We believe that the China growth story is worth at least $100 per share in a bull case to Tesla as this EV penetration is set to ramp significantly over the next 12 to 18 months, along with major battery innovations coming out of Giga 3.”</p><p>Other positives for the Palo Alto, California-based automaker include a Biden White House and a Blue Senate.
