But finding the right investment, the ‘one’ that will bring in the high returns, can sometimes be challenging. A smart investor will apply a few basic, common-sense rules – and stick to them.\nOne of the basic rules of investing is “buy low, sell high. This will naturally bring us to the low-cost, small-cap side of the stock market. While big names get the headlines, the small-cap stocks offer the highest returns.\nWith this in mind, we’ve used the TipRanks database to seek out three stocks that meet a profile; a market cap under $700 million and a share price below $10. Even better, these small-cap tickers have Strong Buy consensus ratings from the analyst community, and boast strong upside potential – starting at 80%.\nEnthusiast Gaming Holdings (EGLX)\nWe’ll start with a company that’s hardly new to gamers, although it is new on the NASDAQ. Enthusiast Gaming, based in Toronto, Canada, is a major of digital media in the online video gaming world. The company owns and manages scores of brands in online gaming, including forays into journalism, social media, community chats, and actual game play. The numbers are considerable -- the company’s esports brands boast over 100 million franchise fans, while Enthusiast Gaming’s ‘experiential’ segment, the annual live expo, saw more than 200 exhibitors, 30,000 attendees, and 5.6 million online viewers at last year’s event.\nAll of that generates a great deal of buzz, and Enthusiast Gaming rode that buzz right onto the NASDAQ index this past April. The move from the OTC exchange to the big board saw the EGLX ticker start trading on April 21.\nThe company has been growing rapidly, reflecting the popularity of online esports and video gaming. For the first quarter of 2021, EGLX reported C$30 million revenue (US$24.4 million), up 321% from the year-ago quarter. Gross profit came in at C$5.9 million (US$4.8 million), for an 80% yoy increase.\nDrilling down, Enthusiast Gaming reported a total of 137,000 paid subscribers as of the end of 1Q21, which indicated 12-month growth of 49%. The company’s direct advertising sales increased from C$60,000 one year ago to C$2.2 million (US$1.79 million) in the current report. And in a metric that bodes well for the future, Enthusiast Gaming reported 9.9 billion total views of its written and video online content.\nOn June 24, the company closed its acquisition of the online gaming data tracking company Tabwire, owner of TabStats. The deal was worth US$11 million, paid in cash and stock, and brings two main Tabwire assets to Enthusiast: its proprietary technology, and its gamer database, totaling 13 million profiles.\nCovering Enthusiast Gaming for H.C. Wainwright, 5-star analyst Scott Buck sees a clear path ahead for the company’s continued growth.\n\"The company’s owned and operated digital media platform includes more than 100 gaming related websites and more than 1,000 YouTube channels. This significant portfolio of digital properties is coupled with gaming and live event content creating a flywheel in which the company can monetize its digital assets. As monetization improves, revenue growth and gross margin expansion should serve as a meaningful catalyst in attracting new investors,” Buck opined.\nThe analyst added, \"While the COVID-19 pandemic likely accelerated growth in gaming during 2020, we believe there is a foundation of secular growth which is likely to continue for several years.\"\nTo this end, Buck rates EGLX a Buy and his $10 price target suggests an 80% one-year upside.\nBuck’s bullish stance on EGLX is hardly an outlier; in fact, Wall Street’s consensus is slightly more bullish. There are 3 recent Buy reviews on file, making the Strong Buy consensus rating unanimous. The shares are trading for $5.55, and the average price target of $10.45 indicates a potential upside of 88% for the next 12 months. \n\nMogo Finance Technology (MOGO)\nSwitching gears, let’s look at a fintech stock. Mogo is a Canadian small-cap finance company, based in Vancouver, BC, that offers a range of services to its customers, including personal loans, prepaid Visa cards, credit score viewing, identity fraud protection, and even mortgage services. The company bypasses the traditional banking system, basing its services online and focusing on direct contact with its customers. That customer base is extensive; Mogo has over 1.6 million registered members.\nThis company is still feeling the effects of the economic dislocation that hit during the COVID crisis. First quarter revenues for 2021, at C$11.4 million (US$9.28 million), were down 17% year-over-year – although they did rise 14% sequentially. In a benchmark that is perhaps more important than total revenue, the company registered the second straight quarter of sequential growth in subscription and services revenue, which were up 32% from Q4, reaching C$6 million (US$4.88 million).\nWhile still small, Mogo is growing, and reported two important news items in the last two months. During June, the company completed an acquisition of more shares in Coinsquare, Canada’s largest crypto platform. The recent move, which saw Mogo pick up another 2% Coinsquare, brings its total holding in the crypto platform to 37%. Mogo has retained its license to acquire up to 48% of Coinsquare.\nEarlier, in May, Mogo announced that it had received ‘Visa Ready’ certification for Carta Worldwide, its wholly-owned payments platform. The certification allows Carta to expand its reach across North America and Europe, with access to Visa’s partner network.\nCovering Mogo for BTIG, analyst Mark Palmer set a Buy rating and a $13 price target that indicates room for 83% share appreciation from the current $7.08 share price.\n\"We believe MOGO offers an attractive means through which investors can play both the digital disruption of the Canadian financial services industry and the increasing adoption of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The company's current valuation does not reflect to any meaningful extent the value of its investment in Coinsquare even as that stake is worth at least $5 per share, in our view,\" Palmer noted.\nOverall, Mogo has plenty of Wall Street love; the stock’s Strong Buy consensus rating is supported by a unanimous 5 reviews. The average price target of $12.80 implies ~81% upside from current levels.\n\nAvrobio, Inc. (AVRO)\nLast but not least is Avrobio, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, aiming to create one-dose gene therapy treatments for painful, debilitating, chronic disease conditions. Avrobio is working on treatments that will limit or stop the disease progression in lysosomal disorders, by inserting a therapeutic gene directly into the patient’s stem cells – and letting normal metabolic processes spread the gene through the body.\nAvrobio’s pipeline has passed the pre-clinical stage, and entered into Phase 1 and 2 trials. The company has 5 gene therapy agents in development. The leading candidates are AVR-RD-01, a new treatment for Fabry disease, and AVR-RD-02, a gene therapy for Gaucher disease.\nRegarding AVR-RD-01, after the completion of the Phase 1 trial, the company held discussions with the FDA on the regulatory path forward, and on the structure to be used for the registration trial. The Phase 1 included 5 patients dosed with AVR-RD-01, and early results demonstrated strong efficacy, acceptable safety, and good durability. Moving forward, the FAB-GT Phase 2 trial now has seven patients dosed, and enrollment continues in the US, Canada, and Australia. The company plans to enroll up to 14 patients in this trial.\nAVR-RD-02, the investigational gene therapy for Gaucher disease, is currently in a Phase 1/2 study of safety and efficacy. The study focuses on patients with Gaucher type 1. Enrollment has begun in Canada and Australia, and the company intends to recruit 8 to 16 patients for this trial. Early data, reported during Q1, showed that plasma chitotriosidase levels decreased 49% and toxic metabolite lyso-Gb1 levels decreased 44% in the first patient at six months post-gene therapy.\nStanding squarely in the bull camp is Needham analyst Gil Blum who rates AVRO a Buy along with a $28 price target. Investors could be pocketing gains of 183%, should Blum's forecast hit the mark over the next 12 months. \n“AvroBio's platform addresses key challenges with current and emerging treatments improving tissue distribution (i.e., CNS) while maintaining safety and long term activity. AvroBio has active clinical programs in 3 LSDs (Fabry, Gaucher type 1 and Cystinosis) with potential for >$2B in peak sales. We believe AvroBio’s encouraging early clinical results, the company’s early focus on commercial readiness using the Plato platform, and the promise of LV gene therapy in LSDs with CNS involvement set the company apart from its peers,\" Blum wrote.\nAll in all, there are 7 recent reviews on file for this biotech firm, and they break down 6 to 1 in favor of Buy over Hold, giving Avrobio its Strong Buy consensus rating. The shares are currently trading for $9.89 and have an average price target of $22.20; this implies a robust upside potential of 124% for the next 12 months.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":757,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":368672580,"gmtCreate":1614323874540,"gmtModify":1703476356453,"author":{"id":"3558131365333102","authorId":"3558131365333102","name":"Andriyanto_W","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cc0702a80ba5a766ed1fd82e45de1580","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Technical analysis still bearish[惊讶] ","listText":"Technical analysis still bearish[惊讶] ","text":"Technical analysis still bearish[惊讶]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/368672580","repostId":"1111681080","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1111681080","pubTimestamp":1614323230,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1111681080?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-02-26 15:07","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why NIO Stock Dropped Thursday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1111681080","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"Positive earnings from a Chinese EV peer hasn't helped stocks in the sector today. Many stocks in the electric-vehicle sector are sinking today, and Chinese EV maker NIO is no exception. Li Auto reported a surprise profit for its fourth quarter, which could bode well for what NIO has to say when it reports on Monday, March 1.
\n
But investors are knocking back stocks of these high fliers today after extended runs brought high valuations.
\n
Now what
\n
Li Auto reported a surprise positive net income of $16.5 million for its fourth quarter. While NIO competes with LI Auto, the companies offer slightly different products. Li's One SUV was designed to serve a specific niche in China. It includes a small gasoline engine onboard that can be used to recharge its batteries, allowing for longer travel between charging stations.
\n
NIO delivered 7,225 vehicles in January 2021 and 17,353 in its fourth quarter. These represented 352% and 111% year-over-year gains, respectively. With its fourth-quarter and full-year 2020 earnings looming, shares dropped as much as 10% Thursday.\nSo what\nFellow ChineseEV maker Li Auto reported its fourth-quarter earnings today, but the results shouldn't be scaring investors in the sector. Li Auto reported a surprise profit for its fourth quarter, which could bode well for what NIO has to say when it reports on Monday, March 1.\nBut investors are knocking back stocks of these high fliers today after extended runs brought high valuations.\nNow what\nLi Auto reported a surprise positive net income of $16.5 million for its fourth quarter. While NIO competes with LI Auto, the companies offer slightly different products. Li's One SUV was designed to serve a specific niche in China. It includes a small gasoline engine onboard that can be used to recharge its batteries, allowing for longer travel between charging stations.\nNIO delivered 7,225 vehicles in January 2021 and 17,353 in its fourth quarter. These represented 352% and 111% year-over-year gains, respectively. NIO recently announced its first luxury sedan, the ET7, which will also have a new longer-range battery option.\nIncluding today's drop, shares have already fallen more than 20% from highs earlier this year. NIO shares (NIO) are still up a little year to date, but are off 13% in February. XPeng stock (XPEV) has been hit hardest, falling 21% in February and leaving shares down about 11% year to date.
\n
That’s quite a reversal from recent trends. The three stocks are up an average of roughly 100% over the past six months.
\n
There isn’t anything specific to blame for the recent declines, but many EV stocks have sold off recently.Tesla(TSLA), for instance, is down almost 12% for the month.Rising inflationfears, for the moment, have investors focused on high valuations and not on EV penetration or growth.
\n
EV bulls will welcome earnings news, as long as it’s good news. Analysts expect Li to lose three or four cents a share from about $600 million in sales. The highest analyst estimate for earnings is break-even. A surprise profit would qualify as good news.
\n
Li has a shot at a profit. Deliveriesjumped 67%in the fourth quarter, hitting 14,464 vehicles, up from 8,660 vehicles in the third quarter of 2020. Li also reported a small profit, on an adjusted basis, in thethird quarter. Shares jumped the week following the earnings report.
\n
Li lost money in the third quarter on an unadjusted or GAAP (short for generally accepted accounting principles) basis. Most companies report adjusted and unadjusted earnings. Stock-based compensation expenses are the big difference between adjusted and GAAP earnings in the case of Li.
\n
Earnings will matter to investors Thursday. So will the outlook. Deliveries inJanuary fellcompared with December. Investors will want to know the Chinese EV market remains hot.
\n
After Li, NIO (NIO) reports earnings on March 1. Xpeng (XPEV) follows on March 8.
\n
Analysts expect losses from NIO and XPeng. All three EV makers are still new and growing rapidly. Li delivered about 32,600 vehicles in 2020. Tesla, the EV leader, delivered almost 500,000.
\n
Analysts appear to think good news is coming. They are bullish on Li stock. About 71% of analysts covering the company rate shares Buy. TheaverageBuy-rating ratio for stocks in theS&P 500andDow Jones Industrial Averageis about 55%. However, it's a much different story over a longer period. Three of the ARK ETFs rank in the top 10 best performers (and the only ETFs with greater returns are all leveraged).
\n
Wood deservedly stands out as one of the most successful stock pickers around. The good news is that small investors can profit from her ideas just as she can. Here are three especially promising stocks that Cathie Wood is buying that should be on your list, too.
\n

\n
\n
Etsy
\n
Etsy (NASDAQ:ETSY) isn't among the largest holdings in Wood's ARK Next Generation Internet ETF. However, Wood clearly likes the e-commerce stock and scooped up more shares earlier this month.
\n
After a fantastic performance in 2020, Etsy's shares are around 25% below their highs from earlier this year. Some investors are less bullish about the stock because Etsy expects its growth rate to decelerate after the pandemic-fueled surge. I suspect that Wood sees a huge long-term opportunity for the company that puts any temporary growth slowdown in perspective.
\n
The COVID-19 pandemic made Etsy more visible than ever before. Not only does the company have more users, but an increasing number of them have also become repeat buyers. Even with growth rates slowing, Etsy's actual growth remains impressive.
\n
More importantly, the company has only scratched the surface of the market potential for the handcrafted products that have made it a go-to site for consumers. Etsy is also expanding beyond its niche by acquiring London-based online clothing reseller Depop. This deal appears to be a smart move for Etsy. Wood seemingly agrees since she bought more shares roughly one week after the acquisition was announced.
\n
Unity Software
\n
Unity Software (NYSE:U) clearly ranks as one of Wood's favorite stocks. It's the eighth-largest holding in the ARK Innovation ETF and No. 10 holding in the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF. And Wood bought more shares of the gaming platform company for both ETFs in June.
\n
Like Etsy, Unity is well off its peak from earlier this year. Also like Etsy, Unity expects its growth to slow somewhat after a sizzling performance during 2020. Wood, however, knows that focusing on the long term is the way to make money investing.
\n
Unity's executives believe the company's addressable market totals close to $29 billion. Its biggest opportunity is in online gaming. Over half of the top mobile games, PC games, and console games were developed using Unity's platform.
\n
The company also sees plenty of room for growth outside of gaming that could expand its addressable market significantly. Developers are using Unity's platform to design automobiles and buildings, simulate autonomous driving, use augmented reality in employee training, and more. Unity is the kind of stock that just might double your money over the next few years -- and Wood knows it.
\n
Vertex Pharmaceuticals
\n
Wood remains a big fan of biotech stocks, with Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX) as one of her top picks. It's the sixth-largest position in the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF.
\n
Vertex announced a setback earlier this month with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) candidate VX-864. Although the experimental drug met the primary endpoint of a phase 2 study, the company opted not to advance it into late-stage testing because it wasn't likely to achieve a \"substantial clinical benefit.\"
\n
Although Vertex's shares tanked on the news, Wood saw a buying opportunity. Vertex enjoys a monopoly in treating the underlying cause of rare genetic disease cystic fibrosis (CF). As a result, it's amassed a growing cash stockpile that will likely be put to use in acquiring and/or licensing new pipeline programs.
\n
In the meantime, Vertex has several promising candidates outside of CF. However, it's a much different story over a longer period. Three of the ARK ETFs rank in the top 10 best performers (and the only ETFs with greater returns are all leveraged).\nWood deservedly stands out as one of the most successful stock pickers around. The good news is that small investors can profit from her ideas just as she can. Here are three especially promising stocks that Cathie Wood is buying that should be on your list, too.\n\nImage source: Getty Images.\nEtsy\nEtsy (NASDAQ:ETSY) isn't among the largest holdings in Wood's ARK Next Generation Internet ETF. However, Wood clearly likes the e-commerce stock and scooped up more shares earlier this month.\nAfter a fantastic performance in 2020, Etsy's shares are around 25% below their highs from earlier this year. Some investors are less bullish about the stock because Etsy expects its growth rate to decelerate after the pandemic-fueled surge. I suspect that Wood sees a huge long-term opportunity for the company that puts any temporary growth slowdown in perspective.\nThe COVID-19 pandemic made Etsy more visible than ever before. Not only does the company have more users, but an increasing number of them have also become repeat buyers. Even with growth rates slowing, Etsy's actual growth remains impressive.\nMore importantly, the company has only scratched the surface of the market potential for the handcrafted products that have made it a go-to site for consumers. Etsy is also expanding beyond its niche by acquiring London-based online clothing reseller Depop. This deal appears to be a smart move for Etsy. Wood seemingly agrees since she bought more shares roughly one week after the acquisition was announced.\nUnity Software\nUnity Software (NYSE:U) clearly ranks as one of Wood's favorite stocks. It's the eighth-largest holding in the ARK Innovation ETF and No. 10 holding in the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF. And Wood bought more shares of the gaming platform company for both ETFs in June.\nLike Etsy, Unity is well off its peak from earlier this year. Also like Etsy, Unity expects its growth to slow somewhat after a sizzling performance during 2020. Wood, however, knows that focusing on the long term is the way to make money investing.\nUnity's executives believe the company's addressable market totals close to $29 billion. Its biggest opportunity is in online gaming. Over half of the top mobile games, PC games, and console games were developed using Unity's platform.\nThe company also sees plenty of room for growth outside of gaming that could expand its addressable market significantly. Developers are using Unity's platform to design automobiles and buildings, simulate autonomous driving, use augmented reality in employee training, and more. Unity is the kind of stock that just might double your money over the next few years -- and Wood knows it.\nVertex Pharmaceuticals\nWood remains a big fan of biotech stocks, with Vertex Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:VRTX) as one of her top picks. It's the sixth-largest position in the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF.\nVertex announced a setback earlier this month with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) candidate VX-864. Although the experimental drug met the primary endpoint of a phase 2 study, the company opted not to advance it into late-stage testing because it wasn't likely to achieve a \"substantial clinical benefit.\"\nAlthough Vertex's shares tanked on the news, Wood saw a buying opportunity. Vertex enjoys a monopoly in treating the underlying cause of rare genetic disease cystic fibrosis (CF). As a result, it's amassed a growing cash stockpile that will likely be put to use in acquiring and/or licensing new pipeline programs.\nIn the meantime, Vertex has several promising candidates outside of CF. CTX001, a gene-editing therapy being developed with CRISPR Therapeutics, could effectively cure rare blood disorders beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease. Vertex thinks that VX-147 could be a winner in treating kidney diseases in individuals with APOL1 gene variants. It's also evaluating a gene therapy in early-stage clinical testing targeting type 1 diabetes.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":567,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":329457336,"gmtCreate":1615273987125,"gmtModify":1703486571392,"author":{"id":"3558131365333102","authorId":"3558131365333102","name":"Andriyanto_W","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/cc0702a80ba5a766ed1fd82e45de1580","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"No more cash to pump[害羞] ","listText":"No more cash to pump[害羞] ","text":"No more cash to pump[害羞]","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/329457336","repostId":"1177211195","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1177211195","pubTimestamp":1615213425,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1177211195?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-03-08 22:23","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Top tech stocks are in correction territory.
