Given “they have huge power in terms of their ability to source semiconductors as such a key customer, then everyone else will be having greater issues than they are.”
\n
Apple’s scaleback is a clear sign that the supply disruptions that have wreaked havoc around the world are worsening, which may jeopardize the outlook for the post-pandemic economic recovery. Almost all major manufacturers have been impacted both by a lack of key materials such as semiconductors, but also an inability to get finished goods into the hands of consumers.
\n
President Joe Biden is set to focus on transportation bottleneckson Wednesday, with the congested Port of Los Angeles planning a 24 hours a day, seven days a week effort to confront the squeeze on goods. A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S said it had to divert some ships from the U.K.’s largest container port because of congestion tied to a trucker shortage.
\n

\n
“Recent rumblings from chip producers suggest that the problems are expected to persist,”Deutsche Bank AG strategists including Jim Reid, global head of fundamental credit strategy wrote in a note. That “will make central bank decisions even more complicated over the coming weeks as they grapple with increasing supply-side constraints that push up inflation whilst threatening to undermine the recovery.”
\n
Apple had expected to produce 90 million new iPhone models this year, but is now telling manufacturing partners that the total will be lower because Broadcom Inc.andTexas Instruments Inc.are struggling to deliver enough components, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the situation is private.
\n
Japan Display Inc., which gets more than half of its revenue from Apple, fell as much as 5.6%, joining U.S. suppliers that fell in postmarket trading.
\n
The shortage of semiconductors stems mainly from years of under-investment coupled with a failure to gauge the explosion in demand for connected devices. Even industry insiders were caught by surprise.ASML Holding NVCEO Peter Wennink, whose company sells the machines that enable most cutting-edge chipmaking, said in July it’s underestimated the growth of the semiconductor industry over the past 15 years.
\n
The amount of time that companies need to wait for chip orders to get filled has set records for nine straight months, signaling that semiconductor shortages will continue to plague businesses well into 2022 and likely beyond.Alix Partners, a global consulting firm, estimated last month that the global automotive industry will lose about $210 billion in sales for 2021 alone.
\n
Earlier this year, Apple had already warned that it would face supply constraints of the iPhone and iPad during the quarter that ended September. But it held off from reducing its internal projections at the time.
\n

\n
The timing couldn’t be worse. The year-end quarter was expected to be Apple’s biggest sales blitz yet, generating about $120 billion in revenue. Given “they have huge power in terms of their ability to source semiconductors as such a key customer, then everyone else will be having greater issues than they are.”\nApple’s scaleback is a clear sign that the supply disruptions that have wreaked havoc around the world are worsening, which may jeopardize the outlook for the post-pandemic economic recovery. Almost all major manufacturers have been impacted both by a lack of key materials such as semiconductors, but also an inability to get finished goods into the hands of consumers.\nPresident Joe Biden is set to focus on transportation bottleneckson Wednesday, with the congested Port of Los Angeles planning a 24 hours a day, seven days a week effort to confront the squeeze on goods. A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S said it had to divert some ships from the U.K.’s largest container port because of congestion tied to a trucker shortage.\n\n“Recent rumblings from chip producers suggest that the problems are expected to persist,”Deutsche Bank AG strategists including Jim Reid, global head of fundamental credit strategy wrote in a note. That “will make central bank decisions even more complicated over the coming weeks as they grapple with increasing supply-side constraints that push up inflation whilst threatening to undermine the recovery.”\nApple had expected to produce 90 million new iPhone models this year, but is now telling manufacturing partners that the total will be lower because Broadcom Inc.andTexas Instruments Inc.are struggling to deliver enough components, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the situation is private.\nJapan Display Inc., which gets more than half of its revenue from Apple, fell as much as 5.6%, joining U.S. suppliers that fell in postmarket trading.\nThe shortage of semiconductors stems mainly from years of under-investment coupled with a failure to gauge the explosion in demand for connected devices. Even industry insiders were caught by surprise.ASML Holding NVCEO Peter Wennink, whose company sells the machines that enable most cutting-edge chipmaking, said in July it’s underestimated the growth of the semiconductor industry over the past 15 years.\nThe amount of time that companies need to wait for chip orders to get filled has set records for nine straight months, signaling that semiconductor shortages will continue to plague businesses well into 2022 and likely beyond.Alix Partners, a global consulting firm, estimated last month that the global automotive industry will lose about $210 billion in sales for 2021 alone.\nEarlier this year, Apple had already warned that it would face supply constraints of the iPhone and iPad during the quarter that ended September. But it held off from reducing its internal projections at the time.\n\nThe timing couldn’t be worse. The year-end quarter was expected to be Apple’s biggest sales blitz yet, generating about $120 billion in revenue. That would be up about 7% from a year earlier -- and more money than Apple made in an entire year a decade ago.\nIn addition to facing tight iPhone availability, the company has struggled to make enough of the Apple Watch Series 7 and other products.\nSeparately, a protracted energy crisis in China may add to the iPhone maker’s headaches. Apple supplier TPK Holding Co.said last week that subsidiaries in the southeastern Chinese province of Fujian are modifying their production schedule due to local government power restrictions. That comes less than two weeks after iPhone assembler Pegatron Corp. adopted energy-saving measures amid government-imposed power curbs.\nSome analysts however spot an opportunity for Apple.\n“If Apple can’t meet near-term demand, the shortfall is likely to be even greater at competitors, creating an opportunity for share gains,”Morgan Stanley analysts wrote after Bloomberg’s report.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1071,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":817041346,"gmtCreate":1630893378085,"gmtModify":1632905293244,"author":{"id":"3554042150050333","authorId":"3554042150050333","name":"Iinus","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3554042150050333","authorIdStr":"3554042150050333"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Rich valuations ","listText":"Rich valuations ","text":"Rich valuations","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/817041346","repostId":"2165180292","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2165180292","kind":"highlight","pubTimestamp":1630891362,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2165180292?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-09-06 09:22","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Why Sea Limited Surged by 22.5% in August","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2165180292","media":"Motley Fool","summary":"The e-commerce company is going from strength to strength as it expands into more countries.","content":"
What happened
\n
Shares of Sea Limited (NYSE:SE) surged by 22.5% in August, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
\n
The gaming and e-commerce company's stock has surged by 72.6% since the beginning of the year and continues to scale new all-time highs.
\n
\n
So what
\n
Sea Limited reported a stellar set of earnings for its fiscal 2021 second quarter, continuing its impressive growth streak. On Thursday, they were among the market’s biggest losers.
\n
There’s a good reason for that. Banks generally make money by borrowing money short and lending it out long—andmaking a profit off the spread. When longer-term rates rise faster than shorter-term ones, bank margins generally get better, while the profits deteriorate when the opposite happens.
\n
After Wednesday’s meeting, the 10-year yield got a big bounce—it rose 0.071% to 1.569%—while thetwo-year yield rose0.038 percentage point to 0.203%, putting the spread between the two at 1.366 percentage points. That widening made the financial sector generally, and bank stocks specifically, one of the few sectors to react positively to the Fed’s announcement on Wednesday. The 10-year yield has fallen to 1.498%, while the two-year has risen to 0.238%, putting the gap at 1.26 percentage points. That so-called flattening of the yield curve is bad news for a rate-sensitive sector like banks. The SPDR S&P Bank ETF fell 4.5% on Thurdsay and 1% in premarket trading on Friday. JPMorgan dropped 2.9% on Thursday and is down about 1% on Friday. S&P 500 futures on Friday were down 0.6%, while Dow futures were down 0.8%. Otherwise, investors are going to bet on a repeat of the slow growth the U.S. experienced after the financial crisis of 2008. With jobless claims missing by a wide margin Thursday—and experiencing the first rise following six weeks of drops—the market decided to focus on the latter, not the former, says Evercore ISI strategist Dennis DeBusschere. “The risk to the economic outlook is the sharp turn to hawkish side, relative to what everyone previously thought, at the same time the labor market isn’t as strong as the Fed assumed,” he writes.
\n
Until that changes, it will be hard for bank stocks to bounce back.
","source":"lsy1601382232898","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Bank Stocks Were Fed Day Winners. It may not be a bad idea given the current economic backdrop. While the global economy is coming out of a rough patch caused by the coronavirus contagion, inflation is popping up in a big way in certain areas. And while we don't know what the future holds, it certainly seems as if several growth-first companies have become a bit riskier as investments than they were just a few months back.
\n
With this in mind, here's a rundown of three great all-weather dividend stocks that should be able to push through whatever economic headwind awaits on the horizon. In no particular order...
\n
1. JPMorgan Chase & Co.
\n
Dividend yield: 2.2%
\n
JPMorgan Chase's (NYSE:JPM) current yield of 2.2% is healthy, but it's hardly head-turning. Income-seeking investors could certainly find names with bigger payouts right now.
\n
\n
But there's an important detail that's not evident in the yield alone. That's the rate at which the company raises its dividend. Over the course of the past 10 years, JPMorgan's quarterly payout has improved from $0.25 to $0.90 per share, growing at an annualized clip of 13.7%. That's huge.
\n
Be aware that this diversified banking and finance name trimmed its dividend pretty significantly in the wake of the subprime mortgage meltdown, and could certainly do so again should the company find itself in similar circumstances. After all, about half of its revenue is ultimately linked to interest rates.
\n
Even with inflationary pressures rising, however, a recreation of those unusual underpinnings isn't very likely. Then, interest rates were peeling back from above-average highs, sapping loan margins in addition to piling on costs linked to soured loans. Now, conversely, rates are hovering near record lows and poised to rise in a way that actually makes lending more profitable. A recession curbs the demand for loans, but shouldn't outright kill that demand unless economic weakness turns downright cataclysmic. In the meantime, the other half of JPMorgan's business comes from things like asset management, credit cards, investment banking, and even consumer banking. These businesses are pretty resilient even if they don't exactly thrive in a lethargic environment.
\n
2. Hewlett Packard Enterprise
\n
Dividend yield: 3.1%
\n
Would it surprise you to know that technology company Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) is a dividend stock? Well, it is, and a good one too. Sure, you can find higher yields, but they're not easy to find within the tech sector.
\n
This company is, of course, the business and enterprise-facing half of the 2016 split of what used to just be known as Hewlett Packard, with the other consumer-facing half going its separate way. Then in 2017, Hewlett Packard Enterprise spun off its services business to merge it with Computer Sciences Corp., further narrowing its portfolio.
\n
They've been smart moves. A tighter focus on each organization's core customer has ultimately produced greater success than was being achieved as a bigger, broader outfit.
\n
That's not always been easy to see, granted. Revenue and earnings have been just as apt to fall as to rise since the company as we know it today first took shape. The thing is, even after adjusting for one-off, non-operating expenses, Hewlett Packard Enterprise has never really struggled to make its quarterly dividend payment. The current annualized payout of $0.48 per share is only a fraction of the $1.88 (give or take a few cents) per share the company expects to report on a non-GAAP earnings basis for the current fiscal year.
\n
Hewlett Packard Enterprise may not be a major growth machine, but surprisingly enough, it's evolving into a picture of consistent progress as the cloud computing and edge computing markets mature.
\n
3. The Coca-Cola Company
\n
Dividend yield: 3%
\n
Finally, add Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) to your shortlist of dividend stocks to consider adding to your portfolio.
\n
Like most other consumer-oriented companies, Coca-Cola's been crimped by the coronavirus pandemic. Its challenges were more logistical in their nature than linked to a lack of demand. The ultimate impact is the same though. Last year's top line tumbled 11%, clipping earnings by a similar degree.
\n
Yes, the beverage behemoth will work its way out of the pandemic-prompted slump. As fellow Fool writer Parkev Tatevosian points out, Coca-Cola is apt to gain lost market share as the world reopens for business since consumers are more likely to drink a Coke outside of their home than they are within it.
\n
That's not necessarily the top reason to step into this trade while the yield's at a respectable 3%, however. More compelling is the fact that the noise -- and impact -- of the pandemic obscured the upside of moves that Coca-Cola has been making since 2014, and in a big way since 2017. It may not be a bad idea given the current economic backdrop. While the global economy is coming out of a rough patch caused by the coronavirus contagion, inflation is popping up in a big way in certain areas. And while we don't know what the future holds, it certainly seems as if several growth-first companies have become a bit riskier as investments than they were just a few months back.\nWith this in mind, here's a rundown of three great all-weather dividend stocks that should be able to push through whatever economic headwind awaits on the horizon. In no particular order...\n1. JPMorgan Chase & Co.\nDividend yield: 2.2%\nJPMorgan Chase's (NYSE:JPM) current yield of 2.2% is healthy, but it's hardly head-turning. Income-seeking investors could certainly find names with bigger payouts right now.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nBut there's an important detail that's not evident in the yield alone. That's the rate at which the company raises its dividend. Over the course of the past 10 years, JPMorgan's quarterly payout has improved from $0.25 to $0.90 per share, growing at an annualized clip of 13.7%. That's huge.\nBe aware that this diversified banking and finance name trimmed its dividend pretty significantly in the wake of the subprime mortgage meltdown, and could certainly do so again should the company find itself in similar circumstances. After all, about half of its revenue is ultimately linked to interest rates.\nEven with inflationary pressures rising, however, a recreation of those unusual underpinnings isn't very likely. These businesses are pretty resilient even if they don't exactly thrive in a lethargic environment.\n2. Hewlett Packard Enterprise\nDividend yield: 3.1%\nWould it surprise you to know that technology company Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE:HPE) is a dividend stock? Well, it is, and a good one too. Sure, you can find higher yields, but they're not easy to find within the tech sector.\nThis company is, of course, the business and enterprise-facing half of the 2016 split of what used to just be known as Hewlett Packard, with the other consumer-facing half going its separate way. Then in 2017, Hewlett Packard Enterprise spun off its services business to merge it with Computer Sciences Corp., further narrowing its portfolio.\nThey've been smart moves. A tighter focus on each organization's core customer has ultimately produced greater success than was being achieved as a bigger, broader outfit.\nThat's not always been easy to see, granted. Revenue and earnings have been just as apt to fall as to rise since the company as we know it today first took shape. The thing is, even after adjusting for one-off, non-operating expenses, Hewlett Packard Enterprise has never really struggled to make its quarterly dividend payment. The current annualized payout of $0.48 per share is only a fraction of the $1.88 (give or take a few cents) per share the company expects to report on a non-GAAP earnings basis for the current fiscal year.\nHewlett Packard Enterprise may not be a major growth machine, but surprisingly enough, it's evolving into a picture of consistent progress as the cloud computing and edge computing markets mature.\n3. The Coca-Cola Company\nDividend yield: 3%\nFinally, add Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) to your shortlist of dividend stocks to consider adding to your portfolio.\nLike most other consumer-oriented companies, Coca-Cola's been crimped by the coronavirus pandemic. Its challenges were more logistical in their nature than linked to a lack of demand. The ultimate impact is the same though. Last year's top line tumbled 11%, clipping earnings by a similar degree.\nYes, the beverage behemoth will work its way out of the pandemic-prompted slump. As fellow Fool writer Parkev Tatevosian points out, Coca-Cola is apt to gain lost market share as the world reopens for business since consumers are more likely to drink a Coke outside of their home than they are within it.\nThat's not necessarily the top reason to step into this trade while the yield's at a respectable 3%, however. More compelling is the fact that the noise -- and impact -- of the pandemic obscured the upside of moves that Coca-Cola has been making since 2014, and in a big way since 2017. Simply put, Coke has been stepping back from the bottling business by selling bottling operations back to franchisees so it can focus more on licensing. This diminishes revenue, but in that franchising and licensing is a (much) higher-margin business, the end result is greater overall profits.\nThis new and improved fiscal profile was just starting to come into view in 2020 when COVID-19 wrecked it. With the end of the pandemic in sight though, investors may be surprised to see just how well-suited Coca-Cola is for funding dividend payments.\nThen, of course, there's the fact that Coke hasn't failed to raise its dividend for 59 consecutive years now, putting it near the very top for longevity honors among all the Dividend Aristocrats.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":283,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":184375406,"gmtCreate":1623686733605,"gmtModify":1634030042694,"author":{"id":"3554042150050333","authorId":"3554042150050333","name":"Iinus","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3554042150050333","authorIdStr":"3554042150050333"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Not till 2022","listText":"Not till 2022","text":"Not till 2022","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/184375406","repostId":"2143018780","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2143018780","kind":"news","pubTimestamp":1623683116,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2143018780?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-14 23:05","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Will Pent-up Demand in the Cruise Industry Set Sail in 2021?","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2143018780","media":"Benzinga","summary":"It's arguable that travel stocks were the hardest hit by the COVID-19, including cruise stocks. It's","content":"
It's arguable that travel stocks were the hardest hit by the COVID-19, including cruise stocks. It's estimated that in Europe alone, over 200,000 jobs have been lost in the industry and dependent sectors since March 2020, and 18 cruise ships have been scrapped or sold. The sector lost an estimated $50 billion and 1.17 million jobs worldwide.
\n
But with vaccines rolling out and countries opening their doors to tourists once again, the cruise industry is angling for a revival. Travelers, tour operators, and investors are all watching carefully to see what happens next to cruise stocks.
\n
Early pessimism was proved unfounded
\n
Cruise ships already had a patchy reputation for health, and concerns over environmental damage and overtourism didn't help. And then the pandemic hit hard. In early 2020, there were a number of coronavirus outbreaks on cruise ships, causing multiple deaths and trapping passengers on board. In Australia, for example, the Ruby Princess was linked to over 900 cases and 28 deaths - a lot for a country with 910 total deaths.
\n
One survey in late 2020 found that 47% of participants didn’t trust cruise lines to look after them if something went wrong, and 67% were less willing to take a cruise as a result of the pandemic. Alongside concerns over traveler demand, cruise lines worried about how long it would be before countries opened their ports and permitted travelers to disembark.
\n
Allan E. Jordan, an industry expert, reported in February 2021 that \"forecasts are that it might be at least a year before the industry has restored a meaningful portion of its operations.\" But just a couple of months later, the outlook looks much more hopeful.
\n
Some travel prophets predicted that the industry would have to rely on loyal cruisers while it rebuilt trust, but early booking data includes many first-time travelers. Older tourists haven't been avoiding ships, either. “We really thought older people would be more cautious. Turns out they want to get out of the house, too,” said Royal Caribbean CEO Richard Fain.
\n
Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corp, agrees, noting “Demand will not be an issue for us; people are ready to sail. The challenge is to do so safely and with the support from governments.” Research conducted by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) found that two-thirds of people who have been on a cruise previously would go again within the next year, while 58% of new cruisers want to join one in the next few years.
\n
Vaccine rollout definitely helps. Cruise lines in the US have been fast-tracking vaccination for crew members, and the managing director of Silversea Cruises explained that swift vaccinations are the reason they were able to resume services to the Greek islands.
\n
Cruise lines are rebuilding trust
\n
When it comes to enticing travelers back on board, trust and risk perception is everything. Cruisers are generally thought to be a risk-averse group, and cruise ships were referred to as \"floating petri dishes.\"
\n
Cruise line managers are aware that they need to prove their competence, and they're doing everything they can to stress their safety profile and deliver transparency. The Royal Caribbean, for example, established a Healthy Cruising Panel. The CLIA has released detailed policies for cruise ship operators, including cleaning and hygiene protocols, and lower capacities.
\n
Companies are embracing technology to track passenger movements and enable contact-free interactions, assisted by the closed system on cruise ships. \"On a ship, tracking can have almost totalitarian features, without passengers being very aware of it,\" cruise analyst Thomas P. Illes says. \"Epidemiologists on land would love to have such track and trace capacities.\" Royal Caribbean rolled out mandatory waterproof bracelets for guests and implemented surveillance tech, in the form of facial and body recognition.
\n
Cruise lines also accept the need to offer flexible booking policies, raise on-board healthcare provision, and operate with transparency around the measures they'll take to deal with the \"inevitable\" cases that will appear on board.
\n
It's clear that there's a pent-up demand for cruise trips among consumers. Country restrictions and health guidelines, not demand, appear to be dictating the pace of reopening.
\n
The first signs of revival
\n
Limited cruises have been taking place in parts of Europe, Asia and the South Pacific since July 2020. Although only around 400,000 passengers and crew took part in 200 sailings, these \"cruises to nowhere\" are being touted by the CLIA as proof that it's possible to run coronavirus-free cruises.
\n
In December, Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas began operations out of Singapore, TUI Cruises, an affiliate of Royal Caribbean, has been sailing three ships in and out of the Canary Islands since November. The Royal Caribbean is taking bookings for cruises in the Mediterranean, Asia-Pacific, around the British Isles, and to the Bahamas for summer 2021; Norwegian Cruises has a trip planned for the Mediterranean in July; and Carnival Cruises looks forward to restarting cruises from Texas and Florida in July.
\n
There's still uncertainty around cruises departing from the US, because the CDC hasn't agreed to blanketly reopen ports, but the signs are positive. In May 2021, the CDC approved simulated cruise trials to test conditions, and invited cruise lines to apply for conditional sailing certificates. Royal Caribbean received approval on May 25th, followed by Carnival on May 28th. Both cruise operators have trips planned from the US for July, and Norwegian plans to sail to Alaska in August.
\n
The first ship to leave a US port this year on a revenue-raising run is a Royal Caribbean-owned Celebrity Cruises trip, heading to the Caribbean on June 26th. It's received approval to sail as long as the crew and passengers are 95% vaccinated.
\n
Investors are taking their cue
\n
Following a catastrophic year-plus, some investors may see cruise ship stocks as worth a buy. Sailing approvals for the Royal Caribbean and Carnival lines boosted stock performance for the sector as a whole, and those cruise lines which survived may have emerged stronger.
\n
Some industry insiders are discussing the potential for the sector to come back even better, having used the break to improve the environmental profile of their ships and develop sustainable tourism policies for the most over-visited destinations like Dubrovnik and Venice.
\n
The Royal Caribbean, in particular, has weathered the coronavirus storm relatively well. Although it announced a net loss of nearly $5.8 billion in 2020, that was lower than predicted and shares rose by about 8% over 5 trading days at the end of May. Consensus estimates indicate that ticket sales for 2022 amount to around $10.1 billion, only slightly below the $10.9 billion in revenue the company posted in 2019. Crucially, the company has plenty of liquidity for the foreseeable future, having raised approximately $9.3 billion in new capital.
\n
It's clear that cruise stocks aren't going to spring back to 2019 levels overnight, but there are good reasons to hope that they will find a way back to consistent profits. Either way, it's clearly far too early to mourn the demise of the cruise market.
\n
Important Disclosures:
\n
Fund holdings are subject to change and should not be considered recommendations to buy or sell any securities. Both cruise operators have trips planned from the US for July, and Norwegian plans to sail to Alaska in August.\nThe first ship to leave a US port this year on a revenue-raising run is a Royal Caribbean-owned Celebrity Cruises trip, heading to the Caribbean on June 26th. It's received approval to sail as long as the crew and passengers are 95% vaccinated.\nInvestors are taking their cue\nFollowing a catastrophic year-plus, some investors may see cruise ship stocks as worth a buy. Sailing approvals for the Royal Caribbean and Carnival lines boosted stock performance for the sector as a whole, and those cruise lines which survived may have emerged stronger.\nSome industry insiders are discussing the potential for the sector to come back even better, having used the break to improve the environmental profile of their ships and develop sustainable tourism policies for the most over-visited destinations like Dubrovnik and Venice.\nThe Royal Caribbean, in particular, has weathered the coronavirus storm relatively well. Crucially, the company has plenty of liquidity for the foreseeable future, having raised approximately $9.3 billion in new capital.\nIt's clear that cruise stocks aren't going to spring back to 2019 levels overnight, but there are good reasons to hope that they will find a way back to consistent profits. Either way, it's clearly far too early to mourn the demise of the cruise market.\nImportant Disclosures:\nFund holdings are subject to change and should not be considered recommendations to buy or sell any securities.

That would be up about 7% from a year earlier -- and more money than Apple made in an entire year a decade ago.
\n
In addition to facing tight iPhone availability, the company has struggled to make enough of the Apple Watch Series 7 and other products.
\n
Separately, a protracted energy crisis in China may add to the iPhone maker’s headaches. Apple supplier TPK Holding Co.said last week that subsidiaries in the southeastern Chinese province of Fujian are modifying their production schedule due to local government power restrictions. That comes less than two weeks after iPhone assembler Pegatron Corp. adopted energy-saving measures amid government-imposed power curbs.
\n
Some analysts however spot an opportunity for Apple.
\n
“If Apple can’t meet near-term demand, the shortfall is likely to be even greater at competitors, creating an opportunity for share gains,”Morgan Stanley analysts wrote after Bloomberg’s report.
","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; Given “they have huge power in terms of their ability to source semiconductors as such a key customer, then everyone else will be having greater issues than they are.”\nApple’s scaleback is a clear sign that the supply disruptions that have wreaked havoc around the world are worsening, which may jeopardize the outlook for the post-pandemic economic recovery. That comes less than two weeks after iPhone assembler Pegatron Corp. adopted energy-saving measures amid government-imposed power curbs.\nSome analysts however spot an opportunity for Apple.\n“If Apple can’t meet near-term demand, the shortfall is likely to be even greater at competitors, creating an opportunity for share gains,”Morgan Stanley analysts wrote after Bloomberg’s report.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":1071,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":817041346,"gmtCreate":1630893378085,"gmtModify":1632905293244,"author":{"id":"3554042150050333","authorId":"3554042150050333","name":"Iinus","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3554042150050333","authorIdStr":"3554042150050333"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Rich valuations ","listText":"Rich valuations ","text":"Rich valuations","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/817041346","repostId":"2165180292","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":291,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":120428052,"gmtCreate":1624333404476,"gmtModify":1634007627592,"author":{"id":"3554042150050333","authorId":"3554042150050333","name":"Iinus","avatar":"https://static.laohu8.com/default-avatar.jpg","crmLevel":4,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3554042150050333","authorIdStr":"3554042150050333"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"What happens if oil reaches $100?
