I don't think bitcoin is anything like gold. Gold is valuable as it taps into every human's innate desire to show off their wealth. 3 traits allow it to do so - it is eyecatching (sparkly and shiny), easy to wear (jewelry) and credible (if you wear it, you show ownership over it). 

Bitcoin has none of these traits - it only exists virtually (so you can't attract attention or show it off) and isn't credible (anyone can claim to own it, impossible to verify).

    某种意义上讲比特币和黄金有相同的属性，但是黄金是美国的重点打压对象，所以黄金可能比不上比特币有投资价值。

    I also prefer gold though i dont mind investing a little in cryptocurrency related stocks such as Coinbase when the price is right. 😀

      Agreed. It's prudent to put in a little. The danger comes when people get blinded by greed, forget crypto is highly speculative and risky, and start allocating most of their  portfolio to it.

      That's true and a part of the value, but it isn't really the key driver. Many other metals are even rarer and have more industrial uses, but are seen as less valuable.
