The White House asked automakers, chip companies and others in Sep.23 to provide information on the chip shortage that has forced cuts to U.S. auto production, and to take the lead in helping to solve it.
The information includes the data of inventory, orders, sale records and so on, which is considered as trade secrets.
TSMC said in a statement to Reuters it is preparing and will respond to the U.S. request for information. The U.S. Commerce Department said last Thursday companies such as Intel$Intel(INTC)$ and Infineon$Infineon Technologies AG(IFNNF)$ had signaled they would cooperate with a voluntary request for data on the chips crisis, but may make it compulsory depending on the number and quality of responses. And Intel plummeted on slower PC sales, supply constraints.
As we all know the semiconductor shortage will last for a long time due to the COVID-19. Covid is RESURGING With the winter coming. That's another challenge.
Above all,
Does the U.S. really want to solve the shortage of the the semiconductor?
When will the capacity of chips recovery form the COVID-19?
Is it the bottom of the semiconductor stocks just like TSMC, Intel, AMD?
Hope to talk about these with you.😎
