Alibaba Joint Venture with World Duty Free Shopping Dufry 🙌 🎉🎉

Dufry announced that it will work with Alibaba to set up a Chinese joint venture company to develop China's tourism retail business. Alibaba holds 51% and Dufry holds 49%.

Dufry Ltd is publicly listed in Switzerland. The company's history goes back to its foundation in 1865. Dufry has more than 60 years of travel retail experience – just one of the factors that has contributed to the company's successful position today as leading travel retailer worldwide. Dufry has close to 20% market share in airport retail and 11% market share in travel retail across all channels pre-COVID. Increasing market power, even in a COVID-19 battered market environment.

Dufry aims to become the world's first digital tourism retail company. Dufry and Alibaba will set up a joint venture in China, Alibaba will introduce its established network and digital capabilities in China, and Dufry will contribute its existing tourism retail business in China to the joint venture. 🌈
