"The 100,000 van order [with Rivian] still stands, according to Amazon, which also has about a 20% stake in Rivian."
[Amazon was already a customer of Stellantis for ICE engine, and it will be a customer for BEV RAM as well. Nothing new]
[For Rivian, for next 5 years, customer demand is NOT a problem but increasing production capacity is. While the new BEV van competition from Stallantis is not nice for Rivian, It is a good challenge for Rivian. If Rivian rises up to the challenge and produce a best in class EDV700, Rivian can equally sell the van to other customers , such as UPS, FedEx, and even USPS. ]
The vast majority of Amazon’s branded delivery fleet in the U.S. — which at last count stood at more than 70,000 — have internal combustion engines. Stellanris is one of its primary suppliers, with tens of thousands of light commercial vehicles making their way into Amazon since 2018. The light commercial vehicles, used for Amazon’s last-mile operations in North America and Europe, includes Ram ProMaster, Fiat Ducato, and Peugeot and Citroën vehicles.$Rivian Automotive, Inc.(RIVN)$ $Amazon.com(AMZN)$
