Remember this synthetic shorting isn't sustainable long-term, but it does dodge SSR as it falls under bona fide market making. Like all synthetics, actions of an opposite reaction must be realized. They must buy-to-cover, like right now, or within a day or two. To me, this shows that the evergrande collapse is having a material impact on hedge funds. We all knew they would crash it down before the margin liquidation (just like right before the volkswagon squeeze in 2008). Let's gooo!!!
