Ever since I started trading many years ago, I notice that it is very easy to go into greed or chase the “high flyer” or even FOMO. Very soon, profit turn into losses due to greed. So then I learned to stick to a indicator.
For SG, as long I am doing better than STI. For US, I aim to do better than $S&P500 ETF(SPY)$. Feel good to beat it!
Some mistakes:
At one point. I am up more than 20%. I always took some profit along the way so that I can be ready for a dips. Unfortunately, in the beginning of March, I got abit greedy so I only reduce too small a size. Therefore the sharp drop in the chart during the smaller tech sector drop.
I did get to accumulate a few stocks like $Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$and $Skillz Inc(SKLZ)$. But if I have taken a larger profit, I will be more comfortable to go in at a larger size.
Some good decision:
Before the sharp drop, I decided to close a few options at slight profit before 19/3. It is lower than my usual aim of 70%+. But this decision helped by not having to worry about assignment and also free up my buying power to sell more puts during the dips.
Overall, the market look good yesterday. If it can close green today before the holiday, we should be abit to ride the momentum up.
But things can still change very fast with China and US doesn’t look like giving way. I willcertainly sticks to the rules of taking some profit to keep some buying power for buy in during dips. Always ready for the unexpected is the best way to handle changes in the stock market. [思考]
