referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer\">JuSun/iStock via Getty Images
\n
Overview
\n
ContextLogic (WISH) has been a wild ride for shareholders, as high volatility continues to cause significant price movements in recent weeks. The e-commerce platform initially went public in December at $20 per share before surging to an all-time high of $32 in February due to a momentum-driven rally. That said, shares have steadily plunged ever since, hitting an all-time low of just $7 in June, but are now recovering swiftly after increased interest from the retail trading sector. Here, the stock is favored due to its high volatility, short interest, and enormous upside potential.
\n
In this context, I believe that the high short interest has increasingly pushed shares below fair value and that patient investors could soon see $20 or more again as the company is working through logistic challenges and will soon return to economies of scale. In this regard, the e-commerce platform has a unique value proposition and is well-positioned to gain market share in a $6 trillion e-commerce industry.
\n
The Digital Dollar Tree
\n
Wish has been criticized heavily as an e-commerce platform, and I would almost argue that its image of being a third-party 'dropshipping' site for Chinese merchants has kept investors away from the stock so far. However, this may only be partially true. Essentially, Wish has inverted Amazon's(NASDAQ:AMZN)business model through low-priced (low-quality) products and sluggish delivery times that may lead to week-long delivery times. This is because Wish does not handle shipping itself, which is why it can offer these ultra-low prices of offering a hoodie for $2 plus $2 shipping.
\n
Frankly, Wish is still dependent on Chinese merchants, accounting for most of its product catalogs. This is unsurprising, considering that most goods are produced in China as the production costs are among the lowest in the world. Most of the goods being sold on Amazon or eBay(NASDAQ:EBAY)were also produced in China, although they earn a higher perception due to one-day delivery shipping programs or higher prices.
\n

\n
Now, I view Wish as the digital dollar tree, where online shoppers discover items that they want, not need. In the process, customers have more patience for products and are willing to wait longer for them to arrive. Wish is working towards addressing both of these issues (quality and merchant diversification) as its platform is gaining popularity. Here, it has been investing in logistics to offer quicker delivery, demonstrated by a 275% YoY increase in logistics revenue. Since these revenues provide low margins, its overall gross margins have decreased in accordance. However, once it achieves economies of scale in the segment, margin growth should reverse and trail back towards 70%.
\n
It is also addressing the second issue by continuously growing its international merchant base. Here, U.S. merchants increased by over 400% YoY, and a similar trend is to be seen in other countries. Moreover, it is growing Wish Local, a service connecting local businesses to the platform, accounting for 7% of all Wish orders. Wish local is mostly (or exclusively) available in the United States and thus increasingly mixes with other products on the website.
\n
Source: Sensor Tower
\n
I also like Wish's strategy to engage and retain users by utilizing an AI matching system that optimizes platform growth, user experience, and merchant return on investment. The strategy to create an interactive mobile shopping experience appears to be working well: Impressively, Wish gets over500,000reviews per day from users, surpassing even Amazon and other shopping sites in this regard, demonstrating just about how engaging the platform is. Around 80% of first-time shoppersreturnto buy again.
\n
Wish is, therefore, able to establish itself in the highly competitive E-commerce market that offers a tremendous runway for growth. Currently, around 40% of the E-commerce market share is owned just by Amazon. Compared to Amazon, its TAM may be limited as it concentrates on its lower-income niche, which is how it became popular in the first place. Still, this represents a +$3 trillion market opportunity for Wish to tap into. It is also worth noting that according toreports, Amazon tried to acquire Wish for $10 billion, yet Wish rejected, believing growing the business to $100 billion in annual sales, at which point it would be valued significantly higher.
\n
Negative Sentiment Baked In
\n
Wish's first two quarters have been slightly disappointing. While the company handily beat revenue estimates, the company burned through over $300 million in cash in order to invest in logistics. More importantly, however, is the fact that MAUs have dropped steadily, which the company blames on de-de-emphasizing advertising and customer acquisition as the company worked through logistics challenges it faced earlier in the year.
\n
\n
\n
\n
Year
\n
2020
\n
2019
\n
2018
\n
\n
\n
Revenue
\n
$2.54B
\n
$1.9B
\n
$1.73B
\n
\n
\n
Gross Profit
\n
$1.59B
\n
$1.46B
\n
$1.45B
\n
\n
\n
Sales and Marketing
\n
$1.71B (+17%)
\n
$1.46B (-7%)
\n
$1.57B
\n
\n
\n
MAUs
\n
107M (+19%)
\n

90M (+10%)

\n
82M
\n
\n
\n
Active Buyers
\n
64M (+3%)
\n
62M (-3%)
\n
64M
\n
\n
\n
\n
*Growth (Year-over-Year)
\n
The largest bear argument against Wish is its high marketing expenses, which account for 60% of its total revenues and over 100% of its gross profits. This is totally fine unless it grows its active buyers through marketing, which unfortunately has not been the case. This is a red flag and questions the long-term sustainability of Wish's business model. However, the company has been close to being cash flow positive, and it stated it already would be profitable if it weren't for its extensive marketing expense. That said, as long as Wish acquires new MAUs and increases value through logistic services, its marketing expenses pay off in the long run. Moreover, as a percentage of total revenues, Wish's marketing expenses have dropped to 60%, down from 67% in the year prior.
\n
Source: Wish IR
\n
In terms of the outlook, this is what the company is essentially stressing. It believes marketing expenses can decrease to 40-45%, leading to EBITDA margins of 25% at the midpoint range. If it achieves these ambitious goals (which is very well possible), its profitability margins would be similar to those of eBay or MercadoLibre(NASDAQ:MELI). In either way, Wish's business model is not perfect, but all these concerns are more than baked in its current valuation, IMO (In My Opinion).
\n
Data byYCharts
\n
Even after the latest +50% rise, shares are still trailing far behind peers such as Poshmark(NASDAQ:POSH), eBay, Amazon, and (Shopify(NYSE:SHOP)). At over $3 billion estimated revenues, Wish is trading at just 1.8x Price to Sales, just half of eBay's current valuation and much lower than Poshmark. Current estimates are calling for over $6 billion in revenues by 2025 and $1 billion in free cash flow, meaning that Wish trades at just 7x free cash flow estimates, or 1 times sales. In early 2021, its P/S ratio stood closer to 5x, so there is potential for a valuation expansion.
\n
What about the Lawsuits?
\n
Perhaps you've seen the news (especially on Yahoo Finance) regarding the class actionlawsuits. These lawsuits are extensively posted to remind investors of recovering incurred losses after its share price dropped in recent months. Such lawsuits are not unusual when stocks drop sharply in a short period of time and are likely of no concern to investors. These lawsuits have also included companies such asCloverHealth(NASDAQ:CLOV), Skillz(NYSE:SKLZ), Array Technologies(NASDAQ:ARRY), etc.
\n
Short Interest - Still High
\n
Source: Fintel
\n
Wish has gained significant attraction from retail investors, as investors were looking for the next big short squeeze. Since most of Wish's shares have still been locked up, its exact short ratio was difficult to estimate. According to Seeking Alpha, the current short ratio stands at just 7%, but the figure is likely higher. Last week, its short interest as a percent of its equity float stood at roughly 48%, according to Bloomberg Terminal data. Other sources such as Fintel pin the current short volume at 20-30%. Now, it's difficult to give an exact estimate, but generally speaking, it's probably somewhere within this range, and many short calls are still to be covered. In the long term, the high-short interest could be an advantage, leading to a quicker acceleration if the stock begins trending upwards.
\n
The Bottom Line
\n
I believe that Wish remains one of the most underappreciated assets within e-commerce, boasting over 100 million monthly users on its platform and connecting thousands of merchants from all over the world. The mobile shopping app continues to be one of the top downloaded shopping apps in the space and has a unique value proposition, which is smarter than it appears at first sight. Moreover, its latestpartnershipwith PrestaShop will give over 300,000 merchants free access to a direct integration that connects them directly to Wish's merchant dashboard, further driving growth. While there are risks to Wish's imperfect business model, such as lagging profitability, patient investors could be rewarded mightily.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Wish Stock: Patient Investors Could Soon See $20 Again
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\nWish Stock: Patient Investors Could Soon See $20 Again\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-06-16 13:45 GMT+8 seekingalpha\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Summary\n\nWish (ContextLogic) remains one of the most underappreciated assets within e-commerce trading at just 1.3x forward EV to Sales.\nWish's latest partnership with PrestaShop will further ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{},"source_url":"https://seekingalpha.com/article/4434950-wish-stock-patient-investors-could-soon-see-20-again","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"1148768572","content_text":"Summary\n\nWish (ContextLogic) remains one of the most underappreciated assets within e-commerce trading at just 1.3x forward EV to Sales.\nWish's latest partnership with PrestaShop will further accelerate international expansion and growth initiatives.\nWhile accurate data regarding its short interest is difficult to find as most of its float is still locked up, I estimate a short interest between 30-40%.\nI believe bear arguments including high marketing spend and stalling user numbers are already baked in the current share price.\n\nJuSun/iStock via Getty Images\nOverview\nContextLogic (WISH) has been a wild ride for shareholders, as high volatility continues to cause significant price movements in recent weeks. More importantly, however, is the fact that MAUs have dropped steadily, which the company blames on de-de-emphasizing advertising and customer acquisition as the company worked through logistics challenges it faced earlier in the year.\n\n\n\nYear\n2020\n2019\n2018\n\n\nRevenue\n$2.54B\n$1.9B\n$1.73B\n\n\nGross Profit\n$1.59B\n$1.46B\n$1.45B\n\n\nSales and Marketing\n$1.71B (+17%)\n$1.46B (-7%)\n$1.57B\n\n\nMAUs\n107M (+19%)\n90M (+10%)\n82M\n\n\nActive Buyers\n64M (+3%)\n62M (-3%)\n64M\n\n\n\n*Growth (Year-over-Year)\nThe largest bear argument against Wish is its high marketing expenses, which account for 60% of its total revenues and over 100% of its gross profits. Moreover, as a percentage of total revenues, Wish's marketing expenses have dropped to 60%, down from 67% in the year prior.\nSource: Wish IR\nIn terms of the outlook, this is what the company is essentially stressing. It believes marketing expenses can decrease to 40-45%, leading to EBITDA margins of 25% at the midpoint range. If it achieves these ambitious goals (which is very well possible), its profitability margins would be similar to those of eBay or MercadoLibre(NASDAQ:MELI). In either way, Wish's business model is not perfect, but all these concerns are more than baked in its current valuation, IMO (In My Opinion).\nData byYCharts\nEven after the latest +50% rise, shares are still trailing far behind peers such as Poshmark(NASDAQ:POSH), eBay, Amazon, and (Shopify(NYSE:SHOP)). In early 2021, its P/S ratio stood closer to 5x, so there is potential for a valuation expansion.\nWhat about the Lawsuits?\nPerhaps you've seen the news (especially on Yahoo Finance) regarding the class actionlawsuits. These lawsuits are extensively posted to remind investors of recovering incurred losses after its share price dropped in recent months. Such lawsuits are not unusual when stocks drop sharply in a short period of time and are likely of no concern to investors. These lawsuits have also included companies such asCloverHealth(NASDAQ:CLOV), Skillz(NYSE:SKLZ), Array Technologies(NASDAQ:ARRY), etc.\nShort Interest - Still High\nSource: Fintel\nWish has gained significant attraction from retail investors, as investors were looking for the next big short squeeze. In the long term, the high-short interest could be an advantage, leading to a quicker acceleration if the stock begins trending upwards.\nThe Bottom Line\nI believe that Wish remains one of the most underappreciated assets within e-commerce, boasting over 100 million monthly users on its platform and connecting thousands of merchants from all over the world. While there are risks to Wish's imperfect business model, such as lagging profitability, patient investors could be rewarded mightily.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":257,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":169565742,"gmtCreate":1623843765886,"gmtModify":1634027246941,"author":{"id":"3578492611847076","authorId":"3578492611847076","name":"Zacong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/643d27a4633ec2fc8fd4a6cde44bd495","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578492611847076","authorIdStr":"3578492611847076"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good news","listText":"Good news","text":"Good news","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":0,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/169565742","repostId":"1133174841","repostType":2,"repost":{"id":"1133174841","pubTimestamp":1623078982,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1133174841?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-06-07 23:16","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Palantir Is Sandbagging Growth Projections","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1133174841","media":"seekingalpha","summary":"Summary\n\nFirst, I look at Palantir's price action this year.\nSecond, I examine PLTR's growth project","content":"
Summary
\n
\n
First, I look at Palantir's price action this year.
\n
Second, I examine PLTR's growth projections.
\n
Third, I provide an overview of price-to-sales in PLTR's peer group.
\n
Lastly, I give my thoughts on price projections out through 2025.
\n
\n
First, I look at Palantir's(NYSE:PLTR)price action this year. I provide some quick thoughts on what I've seen. Second, I look into PLTR's growth projections. I believe the aggression is hidden and I reveal why I feel that way. Third, I provide an overview of price-to-sales in PLTR's peer group, and what that means going forward, especially in light of revenue growth into 2025. Lastly, I revisit the topic of price but also price projections for investors.
\n
Rollercoaster
\n
Here's what's happened thus far in 2021.
\n
The summary is simple. We are back where we started in January. If you bought and then closed your eyes, you would have gone absolutely nowhere. And, if your eyes were wide open, you would have experienced rather significant volatility, bouncing up against $39 but also muddling through $18. It goes without saying that PLTR has moved 50% top to bottom. But, importantly, we are back where we started.
\n
Now, here's where it gets interesting, because just putting money into the NASDAQ (QQQ) would give you superior returns with far less stomach-churning volatility. I'm not concerned with owning QQQ. I'm more than happy to own PLTR because, as I'll show later, it's likely to 5x my investment from this point in time. In any case, take a look at the relative calm of QQQ.
\n
Here I want to add another layer of paint. We started with PLTR itself, then added QQQ. What happens when we go back in time to PLTR's direct listing?
\n
This is the picture that matters most to me. Here's what this means in simple terms, which is what works best in my mind. If you bought early, nothing really happened for a few weeks but then PLTR really took off. Therefore, early investors -like me- took the risk and have benefitted greatly despite all volatility after the directly public offering. With a long view, volatility is not a threat or a \"risk\", but instead, it's an opportunity to buy low.
\n
In any case, if you started buying in 2021, then you're slightly behind versus the market but your investment certainly isn't trash. Furthermore, if you literally bought in the early part of 2021, and you held, then nothing bad has occurred. You are up. Again, volatility shakes out the weak hands. Long term, volatility is just noise - the price gets more and more smooth, year by year.
\n
Here's the insight. Buying and holding PLTR has worked out fine, even spectacularly, unless you bought during the big spikes in January, February, and March. Of course, if you traded against PLTR by shorting and buying puts during those times, you did fine. That's not my game, but I can see why it appeals to traders.
\n
Nevertheless, here's the key: For long-term buy-and-hold investors, PLTR is moving along just fine. Perhaps it's not winning like crazy in terms of price, but it's not exactly losing either. Our horizon is long and strong.
\n
There Is a Disturbance in the Force
\n
I'm rather surprised that there hasn't been more focus on PLTR's big picture projections. Specifically, I am talking about this:
\n
Source:PLTR Q4 Business Update Presentation
\n
See the numbers there?Revenue of $4 billion or more in 2025.
\n
We also know that PLTR grew Q1 2021 revenue by49% year-over-year, generating $341 million across government and commercial segments. That's above the 45% revenue growth previously projected. That's a run rate of $800 million for 2021. And, for Q2 2021, revenue growth is expected to be 43%, which translates to $360 million.
\n
Those numbers for 2021 are fine and dandy and useful to hear. However, what I like more is that PLTR expects 30% growth in 2021 and the next four years. Yes, there's an implication of growth slowing in H2 of 2021, I see that too. However, we can run some pretty simple calculus with these numbers.
\n
First, we can start with the $800 million projection for 2021, check it against the 30% growth expectations. Here's how it lines up.
\n
\n
2021 = $800 million
\n
2022 = $1,040 million (30% growth)
\n
2023 = $1,350 million (30% growth)
\n
2024 = $1,760 million (30% growth)
\n
2025 = $2,300 million (30% growth)
\n
\n
In other words, when we start with $800 million for 2021, it's pretty obvious that the 30% growth doesn't cut it. We cannot reach $4 billion by 2025 with \"only\" 30% growth. PLTR is perhapssandbaggingto keep expectations lower. It's hard to know for sure. It could also be that they expect faster growth in 2022 through 2025. Let's run these numbers again with 40% growth.
\n
\n
2021 = $800 million
\n
2022 = $1,120 million (40% growth)
\n
2023 = $1,570 million (40% growth)
\n
2024 = $2,195 million (40% growth)
\n
2025 = $3,070 million (40% growth)
\n
\n
Once again, even with 40% year-over-year growth, we do not reach the $4 billion projected for 2025. Now, here's the first thing I want to point out about this oddity. My numbers might be wrong. My math might be too simple. I understand that possibility, but what this tells me is that PLTR has a different view of growth than my \"straight line\" projections. They are predators, but they are cautious too.
\n
What happens if we go a little crazy and use 49%, which is what PLTR achieved in Q1 2021. That's nearly 50% growth, of course. Here's how it looks using the same approach I've been using above.
\n
\n
2021 = $800 million
\n
2022 = $1,200 million (49% growth)
\n
2023 = $1,776 million (49% growth)
\n
2024 = $2,246 million (49% growth)
\n
2025 = $3,943 million (49% growth)
\n
\n
Hopefully, now it's clear why I'm so surprised that this hasn't been given more attention. While I realize I'm using \"straight line\" projections year-over-year, I'm kind of shocked that these assumptions and projections haven't been better analyzed until now. The numbers are obvious and simple, and coming straight from PLTR.
\n
Again, maybe I've got something wrong here, but to achieve $4 billion in revenue in 2025,PLTR is going to have to grow by 50% every year, from 2022 through 2025. That's an empirical necessity. Therefore, either PLTR is dead wrong and cannot achieve $4 billion in revenue, or perhaps they expect growth to be 50% year-over-year, or maybe that growth will be 40%, then 50%, then even higher. That is, they expect growth to accelerate.
\n
I don't believe that PLTR would knowingly publish expectations of $4 billion in 2025 without strong conviction. That is to say, it doesn't appear to be aspirational given their relatively cautious and conservative leadership. After all, theywaited 17 years to go public. Plus, with their load of government customers, it's not like they can fly by the seat of their pants. It is not in their DNA or the culture of the business from what I've seen.
\n
Peers and Price
\n
Here we take an interesting turn. Although I've written about PLTR many times, I haven't revealed something publicly before. Specifically, I have direct experience with a defense contractor. To be even more precise, I worked inside a defense contractor in a privileged position with access to an amazing crew of programmers, engineers, and technicians. That experience gave me a direct, hands-on, real-world view of how government contracting works, how the government embraces technology, and how the pieces and parts are all stitched together. I'll stop short at this point; I can't provide more details.
\n
What I can tell you is that my previous work experience has helped me take a long view on PLTR. To wit, I bought PLTR early and I haven't sold a single share. Furthermore, as you might know already, I've boughtPLTR LEAPS.
\n
Additionally, I've had several people reach out to me 1-to-1 about PLTR, including their experiences and their views. During one of these exchanges, a high ranking official and I came to agree on PLTR's peer group. I'm certainly not talking about true competitors here. I'm very specifically talking about reasonablecomparisonsfor the sake of valuation. I'm talking about the general vibe of data analytics at enterprise scale, user behavior analytics, data frameworks, and so on, and so forth. Here's the list:
\n
\n
Snowflake (SNOW)
\n
Alteryx (AYX)
\n
Datadog (DDOG)
\n
Salesforce (CRM)
\n
Splunk (SPLK)
\n
\n
It's not necessary to agree on all of these. Instead, these are merely a reasonable cluster of companies that have similar characteristics to PLTR, although I would offer thatnone of them would be a true direct peer. I do not see even a single company that is as rich and robust as PLTR, nevertheless, we need something of a \"peer group\" to move forward.
\n
Now, with this in mind, here's how we'll proceed. Since PLTR is so newly listed and it's relatively young on the public market, I will keep things simple. I'm very interested in earnings and profits, of course, but here I want to simply compare PLTR on the basis of sales. Therefore, I feel it's somewhat rational to compare PLTR using price-to-sales. Here's how PLTR stacks up.
\n
Being really simple here, PLTR gets just 30-35% the P/S of SNOW. However, it gets triple that of CRM. That's quite a spread. Then again, SNOW is expecting 120% revenue growth in 2021 and86% in 2022. Right now, on the high end, SNOW has the growth edge. I am unclear about how that growth plays out into 2023, 2024, and 2025. I suspect the law of large numbers will kick in, and growth will slow. We'll see. Meanwhile, CRM is a large yet fast-growing company, clocking in with an impressive24% year-over-year revenue gain.
\n
I believe that SNOW's high growth rate will fall, as I hinted at above. Perhaps down into the 50-60% range over the next few years. We'll see. And, I believe that CRM will likely maintain a 22-25% growth rate. However, per PLTR's projections of $4 billion, I see growth above 30%. In fact, I see compound annual growth at 45-50%.
\n
In a funny way, all that doesn't even matter much. That's because the story I see is that PLTR doesn't need to massively grow beyond what we're already seeing. If we merely assume that PLTR can basically hang on to the growth it's getting right now - without any slowdown or acceleration - we can do some fun back-of-the-napkin math. The P/S ratios give us an indication that PLTR is trading at a price that is about right given its peers at this point in time. I'm not interested in SNOW vs. PLTR, or CRM vs. PLTR. I'm merely pointing out that PLTR's P/S is relatively rational given its growth. We can pivot a bit now.
\n
Here's another picture in my mind. If you take CRM and AYX, for example, both of which have a longer history than SNOW or PLTR, you can see that growing revenues translate to strongly growing stock prices. Furthermore, and more importantly, price growth roughly stays around revenue growth. Clearly, it's not perfect, but it sure looks highly correlated to me; 400% growth in AYX, and 150% growth in CRM. Timing matters here, of course, but the general trends here are telling.
\n
This makes me feel comfortable making some broad generalizations. I'm going to give year-by-year price ranges for PLTR given 30-50% growth rates. This is supported by what I've seen in PLTR's peer group, whereby P/S makes sense given growth rates, and the revenue growth vs. share price growth seems to mirror each other fairly well. I'm not trying to be exactly right here. I'm looking for potentiality, given publicly available information.
\n
\n
Today = $24
\n
2022 = $31 (30% growth)
\n
2023 = $41 (30% growth)
\n
2024 = $52 (30% growth)
\n
2025 = $69 (30% growth)
\n
\n
Now, let's juice the growth to 40%.
\n
\n
Today = $24
\n
2022 = $34 (40% growth)
\n
2023 = $47 (40% growth)
\n
2024 = $66 (40% growth)
\n
2025 = $92 (40% growth)
\n
\n
I still don't think that's accurate per my discussion up above. To achieve $4 billion in revenue, PLTR needs to hit about 50% growth every year. I'm going \"straight line\" again, with no assumptions about increasing or decreasing growth along the way. Again, I'm keeping this simple and easy. Here's how the price looks at that level of growth:
\n
\n
Today = $24
\n
2022 = $36 (50% growth)
\n
2023 = $54 (50% growth)
\n
2024 = $81 (50% growth)
\n
2025 = $122 (50% growth)
\n
\n
Perspective Is Everything
\n
Clearly, it's possible to be happy or sad about PLTR's price depending on when you bought. It would be understandable to be frustrated with PLTR if you bought around in the $35-45 range. On the other hand, if you bought down around $10-15, then you're probably feeling just fine. This isn't just how it works with PLTR, of course. Nevertheless, it's a healthy reminder.
\n
In the past, I've said I believe that PLTR will hit $75 by 2023. Even my relatively aggressive numbers above with 50% growth do not hit $75 in 2023, and in fact, I'm seeing $54 in 2023. However, here's the critical point. I still believe that PLTR is likely to hit $70-75 in 2023. I don't expect it to hold that price for long, but I do think because it's a growth company and because news and contacts are \"lumpy\" that we'll see spikes into the $70-75 range. Yet, since I don't trade, I'm fine sticking with my $50-55 normalized target. After all, I'm still doubling my money from this point. And it'll actually be about 5x my original investment in 2023 and 8-10x by 2025. I'm looking ahead about 3-4 years, and I'm seeing a 10-bagger for myself, given my cost basis. For most investors, PLTR appears to be an easy hold, and in fact, I think at $22-25, PLTR is a rational buy right now. I'd be far less interested in buying if the price spiked to $35 or above unless I was trading short-term options.
\n
And finally, what I'm seeing indicates thatPLTR is sandbagging on growth, otherwise, its $4 billion in 2023 would have been revised downward. Therefore, given that large revenue target, I think it's safe to assume that PLTR actually must expect 45-50% growth, not the lower projection of 30%+ revenue growth as they have indicated in theQ4 2020andQ1 2021Earnings Call presentations. Lastly, I revisit the topic of price but also price projections for investors.\nRollercoaster\nHere's what's happened thus far in 2021.\nThe summary is simple. But, importantly, we are back where we started.\nNow, here's where it gets interesting, because just putting money into the NASDAQ (QQQ) would give you superior returns with far less stomach-churning volatility. I'm not concerned with owning QQQ. I'm more than happy to own PLTR because, as I'll show later, it's likely to 5x my investment from this point in time. In any case, take a look at the relative calm of QQQ.\nHere I want to add another layer of paint. We started with PLTR itself, then added QQQ. What happens when we go back in time to PLTR's direct listing?\nThis is the picture that matters most to me. Here's what this means in simple terms, which is what works best in my mind. If you bought early, nothing really happened for a few weeks but then PLTR really took off. Therefore, early investors -like me- took the risk and have benefitted greatly despite all volatility after the directly public offering. With a long view, volatility is not a threat or a \"risk\", but instead, it's an opportunity to buy low.\nIn any case, if you started buying in 2021, then you're slightly behind versus the market but your investment certainly isn't trash. Furthermore, if you literally bought in the early part of 2021, and you held, then nothing bad has occurred. You are up. Again, volatility shakes out the weak hands. Long term, volatility is just noise - the price gets more and more smooth, year by year.\nHere's the insight. Buying and holding PLTR has worked out fine, even spectacularly, unless you bought during the big spikes in January, February, and March. Of course, if you traded against PLTR by shorting and buying puts during those times, you did fine. That's not my game, but I can see why it appeals to traders.\nNevertheless, here's the key: For long-term buy-and-hold investors, PLTR is moving along just fine. Perhaps it's not winning like crazy in terms of price, but it's not exactly losing either. Our horizon is long and strong.\nThere Is a Disturbance in the Force\nI'm rather surprised that there hasn't been more focus on PLTR's big picture projections. Specifically, I am talking about this:\nSource:PLTR Q4 Business Update Presentation\nSee the numbers there?Revenue of $4 billion or more in 2025.\nWe also know that PLTR grew Q1 2021 revenue by49% year-over-year, generating $341 million across government and commercial segments. That's above the 45% revenue growth previously projected. That's a run rate of $800 million for 2021. And, for Q2 2021, revenue growth is expected to be 43%, which translates to $360 million.\nThose numbers for 2021 are fine and dandy and useful to hear. However, what I like more is that PLTR expects 30% growth in 2021 and the next four years. Yes, there's an implication of growth slowing in H2 of 2021, I see that too. However, we can run some pretty simple calculus with these numbers.\nFirst, we can start with the $800 million projection for 2021, check it against the 30% growth expectations. Here's how it lines up.\n\n2021 = $800 million\n2022 = $1,040 million (30% growth)\n2023 = $1,350 million (30% growth)\n2024 = $1,760 million (30% growth)\n2025 = $2,300 million (30% growth)\n\nIn other words, when we start with $800 million for 2021, it's pretty obvious that the 30% growth doesn't cut it. We cannot reach $4 billion by 2025 with \"only\" 30% growth. PLTR is perhapssandbaggingto keep expectations lower. It's hard to know for sure. It could also be that they expect faster growth in 2022 through 2025. Let's run these numbers again with 40% growth.\n\n2021 = $800 million\n2022 = $1,120 million (40% growth)\n2023 = $1,570 million (40% growth)\n2024 = $2,195 million (40% growth)\n2025 = $3,070 million (40% growth)\n\nOnce again, even with 40% year-over-year growth, we do not reach the $4 billion projected for 2025. Now, here's the first thing I want to point out about this oddity. My numbers might be wrong. My math might be too simple. I understand that possibility, but what this tells me is that PLTR has a different view of growth than my \"straight line\" projections. They are predators, but they are cautious too.\nWhat happens if we go a little crazy and use 49%, which is what PLTR achieved in Q1 2021. That's nearly 50% growth, of course. Here's how it looks using the same approach I've been using above.\n\n2021 = $800 million\n2022 = $1,200 million (49% growth)\n2023 = $1,776 million (49% growth)\n2024 = $2,246 million (49% growth)\n2025 = $3,943 million (49% growth)\n\nHopefully, now it's clear why I'm so surprised that this hasn't been given more attention. While I realize I'm using \"straight line\" projections year-over-year, I'm kind of shocked that these assumptions and projections haven't been better analyzed until now. The numbers are obvious and simple, and coming straight from PLTR.\nAgain, maybe I've got something wrong here, but to achieve $4 billion in revenue in 2025,PLTR is going to have to grow by 50% every year, from 2022 through 2025. That's an empirical necessity. Therefore, either PLTR is dead wrong and cannot achieve $4 billion in revenue, or perhaps they expect growth to be 50% year-over-year, or maybe that growth will be 40%, then 50%, then even higher. That is, they expect growth to accelerate.\nI don't believe that PLTR would knowingly publish expectations of $4 billion in 2025 without strong conviction. That is to say, it doesn't appear to be aspirational given their relatively cautious and conservative leadership. After all, theywaited 17 years to go public. Plus, with their load of government customers, it's not like they can fly by the seat of their pants. It is not in their DNA or the culture of the business from what I've seen.\nPeers and Price\nHere we take an interesting turn. I'll stop short at this point; I can't provide more details.\nWhat I can tell you is that my previous work experience has helped me take a long view on PLTR. To wit, I bought PLTR early and I haven't sold a single share. Furthermore, as you might know already, I've boughtPLTR LEAPS.\nAdditionally, I've had several people reach out to me 1-to-1 about PLTR, including their experiences and their views. Here's the list:\n\nSnowflake (SNOW)\nAlteryx (AYX)\nDatadog (DDOG)\nSalesforce (CRM)\nSplunk (SPLK)\n\nIt's not necessary to agree on all of these. Instead, these are merely a reasonable cluster of companies that have similar characteristics to PLTR, although I would offer thatnone of them would be a true direct peer. I do not see even a single company that is as rich and robust as PLTR, nevertheless, we need something of a \"peer group\" to move forward.\nNow, with this in mind, here's how we'll proceed. Here's how PLTR stacks up.\nBeing really simple here, PLTR gets just 30-35% the P/S of SNOW. We'll see. Meanwhile, CRM is a large yet fast-growing company, clocking in with an impressive24% year-over-year revenue gain.\nI believe that SNOW's high growth rate will fall, as I hinted at above. Perhaps down into the 50-60% range over the next few years. We'll see. And, I believe that CRM will likely maintain a 22-25% growth rate. However, per PLTR's projections of $4 billion, I see growth above 30%. In fact, I see compound annual growth at 45-50%.\nIn a funny way, all that doesn't even matter much. We can pivot a bit now.\nHere's another picture in my mind. Timing matters here, of course, but the general trends here are telling.\nThis makes me feel comfortable making some broad generalizations. I'm looking for potentiality, given publicly available information.\n\nToday = $24\n2022 = $31 (30% growth)\n2023 = $41 (30% growth)\n2024 = $52 (30% growth)\n2025 = $69 (30% growth)\n\nNow, let's juice the growth to 40%.\n\nToday = $24\n2022 = $34 (40% growth)\n2023 = $47 (40% growth)\n2024 = $66 (40% growth)\n2025 = $92 (40% growth)\n\nI still don't think that's accurate per my discussion up above. To achieve $4 billion in revenue, PLTR needs to hit about 50% growth every year. I'm going \"straight line\" again, with no assumptions about increasing or decreasing growth along the way. Again, I'm keeping this simple and easy. Here's how the price looks at that level of growth:\n\nToday = $24\n2022 = $36 (50% growth)\n2023 = $54 (50% growth)\n2024 = $81 (50% growth)\n2025 = $122 (50% growth)\n\nPerspective Is Everything\nClearly, it's possible to be happy or sad about PLTR's price depending on when you bought. It would be understandable to be frustrated with PLTR if you bought around in the $35-45 range. On the other hand, if you bought down around $10-15, then you're probably feeling just fine. This isn't just how it works with PLTR, of course. Nevertheless, it's a healthy reminder.\nIn the past, I've said I believe that PLTR will hit $75 by 2023. I'd be far less interested in buying if the price spiked to $35 or above unless I was trading short-term options.\nAnd finally, what I'm seeing indicates thatPLTR is sandbagging on growth, otherwise, its $4 billion in 2023 would have been revised downward. Therefore, given that large revenue target, I think it's safe to assume that PLTR actually must expect 45-50% growth, not the lower projection of 30%+ revenue growth as they have indicated in theQ4 2020andQ1 2021Earnings Call presentations. In short, I place my bets on more growth, not less. If that's true, the price will easily hold. Or, more likely, the price moves upward more aggressively over the coming years.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":146,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":199190803,"gmtCreate":1620689738302,"gmtModify":1634197176556,"author":{"id":"3578492611847076","authorId":"3578492611847076","name":"Zacong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/643d27a4633ec2fc8fd4a6cde44bd495","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578492611847076","authorIdStr":"3578492611847076"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good news","listText":"Good news","text":"Good news","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":4,"commentSize":1,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/199190803","repostId":"2134551566","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2134551566","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Reuters.com brings you the latest news from around the world, covering breaking news in markets, business, politics, entertainment and technology","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Reuters","id":"1036604489","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/443ce19704621c837795676028cec868"},"pubTimestamp":1620678383,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2134551566?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-11 04:26","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Wall Street closes lower as inflation fears prompt tech sell-off","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2134551566","media":"Reuters","summary":"* Electric vehicle shares drop after Workhorse miss. * Indexes down: Dow 0.10%, S&P 1.04%, Nasdaq 2.55%. This represents a 109% year-over-year increase and 2.2% sequential growth. Quarterly production was at 180,338.

Focus On Regulatory Credits, Automotive Margins: The focus is likely to be on regulatory credits, which accounted for 4.3% of its revenues in the fourth quarter of 2020. Zero-emission vehicle regulations adopted by several states allow EV manufacturers to earn regulatory credits, which can be monetized by selling to legacy automakers, who are not able to achieve the minimum target set for the proportion of green energy vehicles sold.

Automotive gross margin slipped to 24.1% in the fourth quarter of 2020 from 27.7% in the previous quarter. It's likely the company could see a further moderation in margins, as production of the higher priced Model S/X vehicles was stalled in the quarter to allow for model refreshes.

View more earnings on TSLA

With competitive pressure intensifying, Tesla could aggressively slash vehicles prices in order to achieve volume production targets, long-time Tesla bear Gordon Johnson said in a note previewing the quarterly results.

Tesla investors may also be keen to find out more about the company's Bitcoin investment strategy and its decision to allow the use of Bitcoin for vehicle purchases.

Forward Outlook: Tesla is well positioned to capitalize on the opportunity presented by the exponential growth that is anticipated for green energy vehicles. Its Giga Shanghai factory is now churning out both Model S and Model Y vehicles, and more capacity is expected to come on line with the opening of factories in Berlin and Texas.

Tesla's CFO Zach Kirkhorn said on the earnings call that the company is shooting for a 50% compounded annual growth rate in volume sales and expects to materially exceed the target in 2021.

Stock Take: Tesla's shares, which were flying high until early February, joined the tech sell-off that ensued. If analysts are accurate, Zoom could rocket to $476 a share over the next year.
\n
Zoom is what you might call a no-brainer beneficiary in the pandemic environment. With the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) shuttering offices and forcing employees to work from home, Zoom's Web conferencing platform became the default winner. Last year, Zoom recorded $2.65 billion in sales, which was up 326% year over year, and it effectively tripled the company's full-year forecast offered just weeks before the pandemic really took shape.
\n
The great thing about Zoom is that its technology isn't going to fade into the background when the pandemic ends. Zoom has been able to lure businesses in with its freemium model, and many choose to upgrade to a paid subscription when they see the value that point-and-click connection can offer.
\n
In particular, it's done a bang-up job of attracting smaller businesses. In fiscal 2021 (ended Jan. 31, 2021), the number of subscribing businesses with at least 10 employees jumped 470% to 467,100.
\n
Zoom is also the clear share leader among U.S. web conferencing services. According to business information site Datanyze, Zoom controls nearly 40% of U.S. conferencing share, which is nearly double its next closest competitor.
\n
Lastly, CEO and founder Eric Yuan still owns more than 25 million shares of Zoom stock. When founders and insiders have large stakes that align their interests with those of their shareholders, we often see good things happen over the long run.
\n
Image source: Getty Images.
\n
Trulieve Cannabis: Implied upside of 80%
\n
Another exceptionally fast-growing company with serious upside potential is U.S. marijuana stock Trulieve Cannabis (OTC:TCNNF). The company has a price target north of $70, and Wall Street believes it offers up to 80% upside over the next 12 months.
\n
To start with the obvious, the U.S. is a massive marijuana opportunity, relative to other markets. According to New Frontier Data, the U.S. pot industry should grow by an average of 21% annually between 2019 and 2025, ultimately hitting $41.5 billion in annual sales by mid-decade. By comparison, cannabis-focused analytics company BDSA is only looking for Canada to have topped $6 billion in annual sales by 2026. The U.S. is where the green is going to be made.
\n
What makes Trulieve Cannabis such an intriguing investment opportunity is the company's strategy, which has primarily focused on building out its presence in one state, Florida. Of its 84 operational dispensaries, 79 are currently located in the medical-marijuana-legal Sunshine State.
\n
Note that this figure doesn't take into account a handful of recently announced small acquisitions in other states. By focusing its attention in one state, Trulieve has been able to effectively build up a loyal following without breaking the bank with marketing costs. Not surprisingly, it's also been profitable for 12 consecutive quarters.
\n
Just how dominant is Trulieve? According to the company, it controlled 53% of the Sunshine State's dried cannabis flower market in 2020, along with 49% of its higher-margin oils market.
\n
Wall Street is expecting the company to grow its sales by more than 60% in 2021, then top $1.1 billion in revenue the following year. If it can duplicate its success in other states, Trulieve could be one of the best cannabis stocks to own.
\n
The NIO ES8 luxury EV SUV. Image source: NIO.
\n
NIO: Implied upside of 53%
\n
A third hypergrowth stock that Wall Street professionals believe could soar over the next year is China-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer NIO (NYSE:NIO). Following the company's recent swoon, the Street is forecasting upside of as much as 53%.
\n
The \"Why NIO?\" question is pretty simple to answer: EVs are the future of the auto industry, and China is the largest auto market in the world. By 2035, the Society of Automotive Engineers of China has predicted that half of all auto sales will be new-energy vehicles, with roughly 95% of those being EVs. The Chinese EV market is ripe for the picking, which should allow NIO to secure a piece of a really large pie.
\n
NIO has been successfully ramping up its production, as well. After delivering a little over 20,500 EVs in all of 2019, the company increased deliveries to 43,728 in 2020. If not for chip shortages, which are hampering the entire automotive industry at the moment, NIO would probably be delivering 9,000 to 10,000 vehicles a month at the moment. Even with the chip issues, NIO's revenue is expected to more than double its sales to $5.2 billion this year.
\n
The company also deserves serious credit for its battery-as-a-service (BaaS) operating model, which should be a long-term operating margin and loyalty driver. Buyers who sign up for the program can receive replacement or upgraded batteries in the future. In turn, they pay a monthly fee to NIO and receive an upfront discount on their vehicle. NIO is effectively trading away some near-term margin for considerably higher BaaS margins and loyalty over the long run.
\n
Then again, a $59 billion valuation for a company that's delivered 95,701 vehicles since its inception seems a bit excessive. Although it's done well with its early stage ramp up and has laid to bed any funding concerns, next-big-thing technologies like EVs won't be without hiccups. Between increasing competition and a steep learning curve, a wait-and-see approach might be prudent, even with Wall Street's aggressive price target.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Hypergrowth Stocks With 44% to 80% Upside, According to Wall Street
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Hypergrowth Stocks With 44% to 80% Upside, According to Wall Street\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-04-22 20:59 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
Over the long run, there's arguably no greater wealth creator on the planet than the stock market. AFP/Getty Images
\n
After posting record sales and profits in its latest fiscal year, Apple Inc. is expected to show how much of its financial success will get delivered back to shareholders this year.
\n
Apple $(AAPL)$ is expected to increase its dividend and authorize further stock buybacks when it announces fiscal second-quarter earnings Wednesday, part of the company's continued focus on returning money to shareholders as it aims to reduce its sizable cash pile. The company typically makes updates to its capital-return program alongside its March-quarter report, and the coming announcement could be a driver of Apple's post-earnings stock momentum.
\n
\"We think Apple's capital return update could be the most incremental consideration coming out of Apple's upcoming F2Q21 results,\" Wells Fargo analyst Aaron Rakers wrote.
\n
Though Apple shares have nearly doubled in the past year, Morgan Stanley's Katy Huberty anticipates that the company will remain aggressive with its buybacks. She predicts that the company could add $60 billion to its buyback authorization this quarter, compared with the $50 billion increase that Apple approved a year ago .
\n
Apple's pace of repurchases is unlikely to \"materially slow\" in the next 12 to 18 months, Huberty argued, as she projected that the company could buy back $18 billion worth of its stock each quarter until the end of fiscal 2022. That would reduce the number of shares outstanding by about 3% and leave Apple with a net-cash position of about $75 billion.
\n
She also projects a 10% increase in Apple's dividend, which would bring the annual payout to 90 cents a share.
\n
Apple's dividend announcement could be a bigger driver of stock performance than the buyback plans, Wells Fargo's Rakers suggested. He thinks Apple could raise its dividend by at least 10%, an increase that would mark the highest annual hike since Apple's 16% bump in 2018 and stand in comparison to the \"more modest\" increases of 5.5% and 6.5% that Apple delivered in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
\n
\"Our positive view on Apple's continued ability to generate strong [free-cash flow] supports our view that the company could return its annual dividend growth trajectory into the double-digit [percent] range,\" he wrote.
\n
Rakers is expecting a roughly $50 billion increase to the buyback program, flat with a year ago.
\n
The company has set out to become net-cash-neutral, opting against blockbuster acquisitions and in favor of capital returns as it tries to winnow down its sizable net-cash balance, which stood at more than $80 billion as of Apple's last report. But Apple is also generating strong free-cash flow, with Huberty predicting a 30% increase this fiscal year and suggesting that it will take time before Apple achieves its target.
\n
\"Apple is firing on all cylinders today and even as the company spends nearly $100 billion per year on shareholder returns, we believe the path to a net-cash-neutral position requires multiple more years of sustained strong shareholder returns,\" Huberty wrote.
\n
Apple repurchased an average of 2.5 million shares a day in the last nine months of 2020, Rakers noted, accounting for about 1.6% of the stock's daily trading volume.
\n
What to expect
\n
Earnings: Analysts tracked by FactSet expect that Apple earned 98 cents a share in the latest quarter, up from 64 cents a year earlier. According to Estimize, which crowdsources projections from hedge funds, academics and others, the average estimate calls for $1.02 a share.
\n
Revenue: The FactSet consensus models revenue of $76.7 billion, while the average estimate on Estimize is for $78.3 billion. Apple posted $58.3 billion in revenue during the prior March quarter, as COVID-19 shutdowns affected China and began to cause store closures in other parts of the world.
\n
Stock movement: Apple shares have fallen following three of the past five earnings reports. Shares have gained 91% over the past 12 months as the Dow Jones Industrial Average , of which Apple is a component, has risen 44%.
\n
Of the 42 analysts tracked by FactSet who cover Apple's stock, 30 have buy ratings, nine have hold ratings, and three have sell ratings, with an average price target of $151.12.
\n
What else to watch for
\n
Apple has seen strong momentum in recent quarters amid a surge in demand for Macs and iPads during the pandemic and a successful iPhone 12 launch. Evercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani predicts that the company continued to see good traction in the March quarter and could deliver results ahead of expectations.
\n
The company could be more insulated than others from the continuing chip shortage given \"its status as one of the largest electronics purchasers in the world,\" Daryanani argued, noting that while manufacturing partner Foxconn mentioned some supply issues, that company said that the component shortage would affect a small fraction of customer orders.
\n
Daryanani is upbeat about Apple's iPhone momentum in China and encouraged by Foxconn's indication that March-quarter performance would be better than what's typically seen for this period. That's consistent with Apple's own projections, he noted. He rates the stock at outperform with a $175 price target.
\n
Wells Fargo's Rakers pointed to \"ongoing positive demand drivers\" but said he was \"reluctant to make a meaningful upside (iPhone-driven) call\" ahead of the release. AFP/Getty Images\nAfter posting record sales and profits in its latest fiscal year, Apple Inc. is expected to show how much of its financial success will get delivered back to shareholders this year.\nApple $(AAPL)$ is expected to increase its dividend and authorize further stock buybacks when it announces fiscal second-quarter earnings Wednesday, part of the company's continued focus on returning money to shareholders as it aims to reduce its sizable cash pile. The company typically makes updates to its capital-return program alongside its March-quarter report, and the coming announcement could be a driver of Apple's post-earnings stock momentum.\n\"We think Apple's capital return update could be the most incremental consideration coming out of Apple's upcoming F2Q21 results,\" Wells Fargo analyst Aaron Rakers wrote.\nThough Apple shares have nearly doubled in the past year, Morgan Stanley's Katy Huberty anticipates that the company will remain aggressive with its buybacks. She predicts that the company could add $60 billion to its buyback authorization this quarter, compared with the $50 billion increase that Apple approved a year ago .\nApple's pace of repurchases is unlikely to \"materially slow\" in the next 12 to 18 months, Huberty argued, as she projected that the company could buy back $18 billion worth of its stock each quarter until the end of fiscal 2022. That would reduce the number of shares outstanding by about 3% and leave Apple with a net-cash position of about $75 billion.\nShe also projects a 10% increase in Apple's dividend, which would bring the annual payout to 90 cents a share.\nApple's dividend announcement could be a bigger driver of stock performance than the buyback plans, Wells Fargo's Rakers suggested. He thinks Apple could raise its dividend by at least 10%, an increase that would mark the highest annual hike since Apple's 16% bump in 2018 and stand in comparison to the \"more modest\" increases of 5.5% and 6.5% that Apple delivered in 2019 and 2020, respectively.\n\"Our positive view on Apple's continued ability to generate strong [free-cash flow] supports our view that the company could return its annual dividend growth trajectory into the double-digit [percent] range,\" he wrote.\nRakers is expecting a roughly $50 billion increase to the buyback program, flat with a year ago.\nThe company has set out to become net-cash-neutral, opting against blockbuster acquisitions and in favor of capital returns as it tries to winnow down its sizable net-cash balance, which stood at more than $80 billion as of Apple's last report. But Apple is also generating strong free-cash flow, with Huberty predicting a 30% increase this fiscal year and suggesting that it will take time before Apple achieves its target.\n\"Apple is firing on all cylinders today and even as the company spends nearly $100 billion per year on shareholder returns, we believe the path to a net-cash-neutral position requires multiple more years of sustained strong shareholder returns,\" Huberty wrote.\nApple repurchased an average of 2.5 million shares a day in the last nine months of 2020, Rakers noted, accounting for about 1.6% of the stock's daily trading volume.\nWhat to expect\nEarnings: Analysts tracked by FactSet expect that Apple earned 98 cents a share in the latest quarter, up from 64 cents a year earlier. According to Estimize, which crowdsources projections from hedge funds, academics and others, the average estimate calls for $1.02 a share.\nRevenue: The FactSet consensus models revenue of $76.7 billion, while the average estimate on Estimize is for $78.3 billion. Apple posted $58.3 billion in revenue during the prior March quarter, as COVID-19 shutdowns affected China and began to cause store closures in other parts of the world.\nStock movement: Apple shares have fallen following three of the past five earnings reports. Shares have gained 91% over the past 12 months as the Dow Jones Industrial Average , of which Apple is a component, has risen 44%.\nOf the 42 analysts tracked by FactSet who cover Apple's stock, 30 have buy ratings, nine have hold ratings, and three have sell ratings, with an average price target of $151.12.\nWhat else to watch for\nApple has seen strong momentum in recent quarters amid a surge in demand for Macs and iPads during the pandemic and a successful iPhone 12 launch. Evercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani predicts that the company continued to see good traction in the March quarter and could deliver results ahead of expectations.\nThe company could be more insulated than others from the continuing chip shortage given \"its status as one of the largest electronics purchasers in the world,\" Daryanani argued, noting that while manufacturing partner Foxconn mentioned some supply issues, that company said that the component shortage would affect a small fraction of customer orders.\nDaryanani is upbeat about Apple's iPhone momentum in China and encouraged by Foxconn's indication that March-quarter performance would be better than what's typically seen for this period. That's consistent with Apple's own projections, he noted. He rates the stock at outperform with a $175 price target.\nWells Fargo's Rakers pointed to \"ongoing positive demand drivers\" but said he was \"reluctant to make a meaningful upside (iPhone-driven) call\" ahead of the release. His iPhone revenue estimate for the quarter is for $38.8 billion, while the FactSet consensus calls for $41.0 billion.\nOutside of the iPhone, Rakers expects that the company continues to see strong demand for iPads and Macs buoyed by at-home dynamics. He'll also be looking for broader commentary on supply issues.\n\"With continued reports of overall semiconductor supply-chain tightness, presumably impacting Apple's Mac and iPad lead times, along with increasing DRAM prices, investors will be focused on Apple's thoughts on overall demand fulfillment and gross margin expectations,\" he wrote, while reiterating an overweight rating on the stock and a $160 target price.\nMorgan Stanley's Huberty has \"high confidence\" that Apple will beat March-quarter expectations and she's also expecting an upbeat outlook.\n\"We believe that much of the consumer and education-market strength that propelled the Mac and iPad to 21% year-over-year and 41% year-over-year growth the December quarter sustained, and even accelerated into the March quarter,\" she wrote, highlighting upbeat third-party Mac data from IDC.\nHuberty forecasts $8.2 billion in Mac revenue and $6.8 billion in iPad revenue for the quarter, significantly above the FactSet consensus, which calls for $6.7 billion and $5.6 billion, respectively. She has an overweight rating and $158 price target on Apple shares.\nApple recently introduced new iPads and iMacs that could allow it to continue capitalizing on at-home trends, though these won't factor into the March-quarter numbers.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":356,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":374536451,"gmtCreate":1619454241473,"gmtModify":1634273313426,"author":{"id":"3578492611847076","authorId":"3578492611847076","name":"Zacong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/643d27a4633ec2fc8fd4a6cde44bd495","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578492611847076","authorIdStr":"3578492611847076"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Good job!","listText":"Good job!","text":"Good job!","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/374536451","repostId":"2130364766","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2130364766","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Stock Market Quotes, Business News, Financial News, Trading Ideas, and Stock Research by Professionals","home_visible":0,"media_name":"Benzinga","id":"1052270027","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/d08bf7808052c0ca9deb4e944cae32aa"},"pubTimestamp":1619318325,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2130364766?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-04-25 10:38","market":"us","language":"en","title":"What to Expect From Tesla's Q1 Earnings Report On Monday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2130364766","media":"Benzinga","summary":"EV giant Tesla, Inc. is scheduled to release its first-quarter results Monday, after the market close.Key Q1 Metrics to Watch For: Tesla is expected to report non-GAAP earnings per share, or EPS, of 79 cents in the first quarter of 2021, up sharply from 23 cents in the year-ago quarter.The consensus revenue forecast for the quarter is at $10.29 billion, up 72% year-over-year.Focus On Regulatory Credits, Automotive Margins: The focus is likely to be on regulatory credits, which accounted for 4","content":"

EV giant Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) is scheduled to release its first-quarter results Monday, after the market close.

Key Q1 Metrics to Watch For: Tesla is expected to report non-GAAP earnings per share, or EPS, of 79 cents in the first quarter of 2021, up sharply from 23 cents in the year-ago quarter.

The consensus revenue forecast for the quarter is at $10.29 billion, up 72% year-over-year.

In the fourth quarter, Tesla had earned 80 cents per share on a non-GAAP basis on revenues of $10.74 billion.

Tesla revealed in early April it delivered a record 184,800 vehicles in the first quarter, comprising 182,780 Model 3/Y vehicles and 2,020 Model S/X vehicles. It's likely the company could see a further moderation in margins, as production of the higher priced Model S/X vehicles was stalled in the quarter to allow for model refreshes.View more earnings on TSLAWith competitive pressure intensifying, Tesla could aggressively slash vehicles prices in order to achieve volume production targets, long-time Tesla bear Gordon Johnson said in a note previewing the quarterly results.Tesla investors may also be keen to find out more about the company's Bitcoin investment strategy and its decision to allow the use of Bitcoin for vehicle purchases.Forward Outlook: Tesla is well positioned to capitalize on the opportunity presented by the exponential growth that is anticipated for green energy vehicles. Its Giga Shanghai factory is now churning out both Model S and Model Y vehicles, and more capacity is expected to come on line with the opening of factories in Berlin and Texas.Tesla's CFO Zach Kirkhorn said on the earnings call that the company is shooting for a 50% compounded annual growth rate in volume sales and expects to materially exceed the target in 2021.Stock Take: Tesla's shares, which were flying high until early February, joined the tech sell-off that ensued. From a split-adjusted high of $900.40 on Jan. 25, the stock fell to $539.49 on March 5, a peak-to-trough decline of 40%.Although the stock has made good some of the losses since then, it is yet to break above $800 level.Tesla holds a several-year lead and is now expanding aggressively into storage, and therefore a premium valuation for its shares is justified, CANACCORD Genuity analyst Jed Dorsheimer said in a recent note. The firm has a $1,071 price target for the stock.Friday, Tesla's shares ended 1.35% higher at $729.40.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":487,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"EN","totalScore":0},{"id":199190932,"gmtCreate":1620689713626,"gmtModify":1634197176917,"author":{"id":"3578492611847076","authorId":"3578492611847076","name":"Zacong","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/643d27a4633ec2fc8fd4a6cde44bd495","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false,"idStr":"3578492611847076","authorIdStr":"3578492611847076"},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Thats great news","listText":"Thats great news","text":"Thats great news","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/199190932","repostId":"1161361346","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1161361346","weMediaInfo":{"introduction":"Providing stock market headlines, business news, financials and earnings ","home_visible":1,"media_name":"Tiger Newspress","id":"1079075236","head_image":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/8274c5b9d4c2852bfb1c4d6ce16c68ba"},"pubTimestamp":1620655086,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1161361346?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-05-10 21:58","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Sea fell about 7% in morning trading Monday","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1161361346","media":"Tiger Newspress","summary":"(May 10) Sea fell about 7% in morning trading Monday.Sea says it has both the largest digital enter","content":"
(May 10) Sea fell about 7% in morning trading Monday.

Sea says it has both the largest digital entertainment platform and the largest e-commerce operation in the Southeast Asia region, comprised of Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore. This happens when some of the market participants decide to pay higher prices. These investors think the large buyers who created the support will eventually drive the stock higher. They want to get ahead of them.
\n
Nio has held support around the $35 level. It also reached this level in early and mid-March. Both times, a small rebound followed and that could happen again.
\n

\n
Tesla has held support around the $700 level. There is support at $700 because it was a resistance level and levels that were resistance can turn into support.
\n
This happens because many of the investors who sold their shares at $700 believe they made a mistake when the shares traded higher afterward. A number of these investors decide to buy the stock back, but they will only do so if they can get it for the same price they sold at.
\n
As a result, buy orders are placed at a level that had been resistance, which will create support. If there are enough of these buy orders, the level will turn into a support level.
