That includes the licensing of BB’s QNX tech and sending a support group of engineers to help with vehicle automation plans.
\n
Blackberry notes that this will have its engineers working on new SAE Level 2/2+ self-driving functions. The goal would be for this to end up in multiple vehicles across different makes and models.
\n
The initial news of the BMW deal sent BB stock higher when shares started trading this morning. However, the stock didn’t retain those gains and quickly started to sink back down to its closing price on Tuesday.
\n
It’s worth noting that BB is a meme stock, which means it’s often subject to volatility. That’s exacerbated by the fact the shares trade below $10 each. This makes it easier for traders to get into the stock when news like this comes around. That includes the licensing of BB’s QNX tech and sending a support group of engineers to help with vehicle automation plans.\nBlackberry notes that this will have its engineers working on new SAE Level 2/2+ self-driving functions. The goal would be for this to end up in multiple vehicles across different makes and models.\nThe initial news of the BMW deal sent BB stock higher when shares started trading this morning. However, the stock didn’t retain those gains and quickly started to sink back down to its closing price on Tuesday.\nIt’s worth noting that BB is a meme stock, which means it’s often subject to volatility. That’s exacerbated by the fact the shares trade below $10 each. This makes it easier for traders to get into the stock when news like this comes around. That results in it running higher before eventually falling.\nBacking that up is decent trading of BB stock today. The company has seen roughly 9 million shares change hands as of this writing. Higher interest rates, which counter inflation, are also sparking fears of an economic slowdown and causing investors to rotate from dividend stocks toward lower-risk bonds.
\n
Faced with these challenges, it might seem like a bad idea to buy dividend-paying tech stocks. However, these four tech dividend stocks should remain resilient and easily withstand the upcoming inflation-related challenges.
\n
\n
1. Apple
\n
Apple only pays a forward dividend yield of 0.5%, but its lowpayout ratioof 15% indicates there's still plenty of room for much higher payments. Apple's stock price has risen nearly 270% over the past three years, but it still doesn't look terribly expensive at 29 times forward earnings.
\n
Apple is an inflation-resistant company for two simple reasons. First, it has the clout to negotiate more favorable prices from its suppliers. Second, it probably won't lose a lot of its loyal customers if it charges higher prices for its hardware since they're already firmly locked into its software ecosystem.
\n
Apple has also consistently executed big stock buybacks, which have reduced its outstanding shares by nearly 22% over the past five years. Spending more cash on those buybacks, which boosts the value of its remaining shares, is a better strategy than letting its cash stagnate in an inflationary environment.
\n
Apple will face a near-term slowdown as it grapples with supply chain constraints, but its long-term outlook is still bright. Its services ecosystem continues to expand, and it will eventually expand into new next-gen markets like augmented reality, virtual reality, and connected cars.
\n
2. Verizon
\n
Verizon pays a forward dividend yield of 5%. The telecom giant has raised that dividend annually for 15 straight years, and it's spent less than half of its earnings per share on those payments over the past 12 months. The stock also trades at just nine times forward earnings.
\n
At first glance, Verizon seems like a lackluster investment. It's declined more than 10% over the past three years as the S&P 500 has risen nearly 70%.
\n
However, Verizon's stock will likely remain stable as rising inflation and higher interest rates rattle the markets. As the largest wireless carrier in the U.S., Verizon can likely pass on most of its higher costs onto consumers without significantly increasing its churn rates. It's also a more streamlined company than AT&T, which is still trying toundo the damageof the debt-fueled expansions of its media and pay-TV ecosystems.
\n
Verizon's stable returns, sticky ecosystem, high dividend, and low valuation will all make it an ideal safe-haven stock in an inflationary market.
\n
3. Qualcomm
\n
Qualcomm, one of the world's largest mobile chipmakers, pays a forward dividend yield of 1.5%. It's raised its annual payout over the past two years, and it's only spent about a third of its earnings on its dividends over the past 12 months.
\n
Qualcomm's two main businesses are both well-insulated from inflation. Its Snapdragon system on chips (SoCs), which bundle together a mobile CPU, GPU, and baseband modem, power most of the world's high-end smartphones. They can also be found in virtual reality headsets, cars, and drones. The secular growth of those markets will give Qualcomm plenty of pricing power.
\n
Its licensing business, which leverages its portfolio of wireless patents to earn a cut of every smartphone sold worldwide, also generates a stable stream of high-margin revenue. It then plows a large portion of that excess cash into big buybacks and dividends.
\n
Qualcomm's stock has already risen more than 200% as investors have recognized those long-term strengths, but it still looks cheap at 17 times forward earnings.
\n
4. Texas Instruments
\n
Texas Instruments manufactures a wide range of analog and embedded chips for consumer electronics, cars, industrial machines, and other markets. These chips aren't as powerful as Qualcomm's mobile chips, but they're just as essential and less capital-intensive to produce.
\n
Unlike Qualcomm, which outsources the production of its chips to third-party foundries, TI manufactures its own chips in-house. That business model insulates it from the ongoing chip shortage, and its cost-cutting migration from 200mm to 300mm wafers over the past few years enabled it to significantly reduce its own manufacturing costs and boost its gross margins.
\n
TI's business is naturally resistant to inflation since it has much better control over its own supply chain and operating expenses than other chipmakers, and it generates plenty of excess cash for buybacks and dividends. Higher interest rates, which counter inflation, are also sparking fears of an economic slowdown and causing investors to rotate from dividend stocks toward lower-risk bonds.\nFaced with these challenges, it might seem like a bad idea to buy dividend-paying tech stocks. However, these four tech dividend stocks should remain resilient and easily withstand the upcoming inflation-related challenges.\nImage source: Apple.\n1. Apple\nApple only pays a forward dividend yield of 0.5%, but its lowpayout ratioof 15% indicates there's still plenty of room for much higher payments. Apple's stock price has risen nearly 270% over the past three years, but it still doesn't look terribly expensive at 29 times forward earnings.\nApple is an inflation-resistant company for two simple reasons. First, it has the clout to negotiate more favorable prices from its suppliers. Second, it probably won't lose a lot of its loyal customers if it charges higher prices for its hardware since they're already firmly locked into its software ecosystem.\nApple has also consistently executed big stock buybacks, which have reduced its outstanding shares by nearly 22% over the past five years. Spending more cash on those buybacks, which boosts the value of its remaining shares, is a better strategy than letting its cash stagnate in an inflationary environment.\nApple will face a near-term slowdown as it grapples with supply chain constraints, but its long-term outlook is still bright. Its services ecosystem continues to expand, and it will eventually expand into new next-gen markets like augmented reality, virtual reality, and connected cars.\n2. Verizon\nVerizon pays a forward dividend yield of 5%. The telecom giant has raised that dividend annually for 15 straight years, and it's spent less than half of its earnings per share on those payments over the past 12 months. The stock also trades at just nine times forward earnings.\nAt first glance, Verizon seems like a lackluster investment. It's declined more than 10% over the past three years as the S&P 500 has risen nearly 70%.\nHowever, Verizon's stock will likely remain stable as rising inflation and higher interest rates rattle the markets. As the largest wireless carrier in the U.S., Verizon can likely pass on most of its higher costs onto consumers without significantly increasing its churn rates. It's also a more streamlined company than AT&T, which is still trying toundo the damageof the debt-fueled expansions of its media and pay-TV ecosystems.\nVerizon's stable returns, sticky ecosystem, high dividend, and low valuation will all make it an ideal safe-haven stock in an inflationary market.\n3. Qualcomm\nQualcomm, one of the world's largest mobile chipmakers, pays a forward dividend yield of 1.5%. It's raised its annual payout over the past two years, and it's only spent about a third of its earnings on its dividends over the past 12 months.\nQualcomm's two main businesses are both well-insulated from inflation. Its Snapdragon system on chips (SoCs), which bundle together a mobile CPU, GPU, and baseband modem, power most of the world's high-end smartphones. They can also be found in virtual reality headsets, cars, and drones. The secular growth of those markets will give Qualcomm plenty of pricing power.\nIts licensing business, which leverages its portfolio of wireless patents to earn a cut of every smartphone sold worldwide, also generates a stable stream of high-margin revenue. It then plows a large portion of that excess cash into big buybacks and dividends.\nQualcomm's stock has already risen more than 200% as investors have recognized those long-term strengths, but it still looks cheap at 17 times forward earnings.\n4. Texas Instruments\nTexas Instruments manufactures a wide range of analog and embedded chips for consumer electronics, cars, industrial machines, and other markets. These chips aren't as powerful as Qualcomm's mobile chips, but they're just as essential and less capital-intensive to produce.\nUnlike Qualcomm, which outsources the production of its chips to third-party foundries, TI manufactures its own chips in-house. That business model insulates it from the ongoing chip shortage, and its cost-cutting migration from 200mm to 300mm wafers over the past few years enabled it to significantly reduce its own manufacturing costs and boost its gross margins.\nTI's business is naturally resistant to inflation since it has much better control over its own supply chain and operating expenses than other chipmakers, and it generates plenty of excess cash for buybacks and dividends. It reduced its number of outstanding shares by 46% between 2004 and 2020, and it's raised its dividend annually for 18 straight years. It currently pays a forward dividend yield of 2.4%, which is supported by a sustainable payout ratio of 52%.\nTI's stock has more than doubled over the past three years, but it still trades at 23 times forward earnings. That reasonable valuation, along with its healthy yield and stable business, makes TI a reliable and inflation-resistant tech stock.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":659,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":606105976,"gmtCreate":1638840039630,"gmtModify":1638840040454,"author":{"id":"3577965120664925","authorId":"3577965120664925","name":"SR050321","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6ad8f48d49f7392730c39c441b79e8f0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$FOOD EMPIRE HOLDINGS LIMITED(F03.SI)$Profit looks good progressing ","listText":"$FOOD EMPIRE HOLDINGS LIMITED(F03.SI)$Profit looks good progressing ","text":"$FOOD EMPIRE HOLDINGS LIMITED(F03.SI)$Profit looks good progressing","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":5,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/606105976","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":655,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":606372284,"gmtCreate":1638839186543,"gmtModify":1638839187382,"author":{"id":"3577965120664925","authorId":"3577965120664925","name":"SR050321","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6ad8f48d49f7392730c39c441b79e8f0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$SHENG SIONG GROUP LTD(OV8.SI)$Stagnant 😅","listText":"$SHENG SIONG GROUP LTD(OV8.SI)$Stagnant 😅","text":"$SHENG SIONG GROUP LTD(OV8.SI)$Stagnant 😅","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":9,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/606372284","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":830,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":606372934,"gmtCreate":1638839160512,"gmtModify":1638839161369,"author":{"id":"3577965120664925","authorId":"3577965120664925","name":"SR050321","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6ad8f48d49f7392730c39c441b79e8f0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$MAXI-CASH FIN SVCS CORP LTD(5UF.SI)$Your value more above ! Based on the average price target, Meta has the biggest return potential among its megacap peers at 31%, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":776,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":601181433,"gmtCreate":1638497874138,"gmtModify":1638497874602,"author":{"id":"3577965120664925","authorId":"3577965120664925","name":"SR050321","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6ad8f48d49f7392730c39c441b79e8f0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"$MAXI-CASH FIN SVCS CORP LTD(5UF.SI)$Why suspended today ?","listText":"$MAXI-CASH FIN SVCS CORP LTD(5UF.SI)$Why suspended today ?","text":"$MAXI-CASH FIN SVCS CORP LTD(5UF.SI)$Why suspended today ?","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":7,"commentSize":2,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/601181433","isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":644,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":871162102,"gmtCreate":1637038087897,"gmtModify":1637038088249,"author":{"id":"3577965120664925","authorId":"3577965120664925","name":"SR050321","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6ad8f48d49f7392730c39c441b79e8f0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Wow","listText":"Wow","text":"Wow","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":9,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/871162102","repostId":"1116429379","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1116429379","pubTimestamp":1637033648,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1116429379?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-11-16 11:34","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Sell AAPL? In it, he reinforced the idea that AAPL should be worth only $132, suggesting that shares have 12% of downside risk from here.
\n
Today, the Apple Maven revisits Bernstein’s Toni Sacconaghi’s mildly bearish case.
\n
The not-so-bullish case
\n
Mr. Sacconaghi has been cautious of AAPL since he downgraded the stock to neutral, in February 2018. The timing of his move did not prove to be the best, as Apple shares have climbed a whopping 285% in less than four years against the S&P 500’s 85% gains. However, the analyst has also helped AAPL investors think of the devil’s advocate argument.
\n
In August, I reviewed Bernstein’s thesis in more detail. For the short term, the bank’s research team was concerned that Apple stock had climbed too fast in the first half of the year, ahead of a set of earnings seasons in which Apple would face tough comps.
\n
Also, Toni has mentioned valuations as a key risk. While he believes that AAPL should be valued at a higher multiple than the S&P 500, the analyst questions how much is too much. Bernstein’s target P/E of 25 times is one to two turns lower than where the multiple is today.
\n
Add App Store to the list
\n
Now, the analyst has added one item to the list of worries: the App Store. Sacconaghi pointed out that a recent court loss will likely mean that payments will be allowed to be made outside the App Store platform in the US, starting as early as next month.
\n
Bernstein’s expert has done the math. He estimates that nearly one-third of App Store revenues come from the United States. If the App Store accounts for 6% and 15% of total company sales and op profits, respectively, the payment issue could impact 2% of Apple’s revenues and 5% of op profits per year.
\n
Apple Maven’s take
\n
Regarding Toni’s earlier concerns, I believe that the risks have decreased substantially since AAPL peaked, in early September. Since then, investors have had time to fully embrace the more challenging late 2021-to-early 2022 period of tough comps and supply chain constraints. As I mentioned not long ago, valuations have de-risked to more reasonable levels.
\n
Regarding the App Store, I have slowly shifted from more to less concerned about the financial impact. Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty has argued that App Store policy changes could shave a maximum of 1% or 2% of Apple’s EPS, which is not much at all.
\n
Even Sacconaghi’s estimates of the financial risk only represents the worst-case scenario. In reality, much less than 2% of Apple’s revenues and 5% of op profits will likely end up being cut as a result of the App Store’s payment changes, as many users will continue to choose Apple as their payment platform of choice.
","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
Sell AAPL? The CESI measures the extent to which the latest economic news deviates from the Wall Street consensus. The past two months of consistently negative CESI readings therefore mean that the economic news, on balance, has been worse than expected.
\n
Is it good news or bad for stock investors that recent U.S. economic news releases have been significantly worse than expected?
\n
The latest reading from the Citigroup Economic Surprise Index (CESI) is minus 29.2. Just 10 days ago it was even more negative, at minus 61.7. Its average over the last 18 years is 4.6.
\n

\n
There is no consensus among the advisers I monitor about what these latest readings mean. Some believe it’s good news, on the contrarian theory that the worse-than-expected news constitutes a“wall of worry”that the U.S. bull market can climb. Others argue that you can’t sugar-coat worse-than-expected economic news.
\n
To help resolve their disagreement, I analyzed daily CESI data back to 2003. Specifically, I measured its correlation with the S&P 500’sSPX,+0.15%return over the subsequent month-, quarter-, six months, and one year. I came up with nothing that met traditional standards of statistical significance.
\n
A summary of what I found is plotted in the chart below. Notice that the S&P 500’s average return is virtually the same regardless of whether the CESI is positive or negative, trending upward or downward.
\n

\n
These findings are not a criticism of the CESI itself. Citigroup created the index as a useful tool for foreign exchange traders.Citigroup has saidthat the CESI “is a perfect example of unique proprietary design which has almost no bearing on those who discuss it… It was not meant to be used for stock prices.”
\n
There’s a broader lesson here for us to learn as well: We need to subject our intuitions to empirical reality checks. That’s especially important when our hunches seem so obviously true — as is the case when it comes to whether the economic news is coming in better or worse than expected. Stock market history is filled with expectations that were guaranteed to happen but which did not.
\n
It can be tedious plowing through huge databases to see if a pattern really exists. The CESI measures the extent to which the latest economic news deviates from the Wall Street consensus. The past two months of consistently negative CESI readings therefore mean that the economic news, on balance, has been worse than expected.\nIs it good news or bad for stock investors that recent U.S. economic news releases have been significantly worse than expected?\nThe latest reading from the Citigroup Economic Surprise Index (CESI) is minus 29.2. Just 10 days ago it was even more negative, at minus 61.7. Its average over the last 18 years is 4.6.\n\nThere is no consensus among the advisers I monitor about what these latest readings mean. Some believe it’s good news, on the contrarian theory that the worse-than-expected news constitutes a“wall of worry”that the U.S. bull market can climb. Others argue that you can’t sugar-coat worse-than-expected economic news.\nTo help resolve their disagreement, I analyzed daily CESI data back to 2003. Specifically, I measured its correlation with the S&P 500’sSPX,+0.15%return over the subsequent month-, quarter-, six months, and one year. I came up with nothing that met traditional standards of statistical significance.\nA summary of what I found is plotted in the chart below. Notice that the S&P 500’s average return is virtually the same regardless of whether the CESI is positive or negative, trending upward or downward.\n\nThese findings are not a criticism of the CESI itself. Citigroup created the index as a useful tool for foreign exchange traders.Citigroup has saidthat the CESI “is a perfect example of unique proprietary design which has almost no bearing on those who discuss it… It was not meant to be used for stock prices.”\nThere’s a broader lesson here for us to learn as well: We need to subject our intuitions to empirical reality checks. That’s especially important when our hunches seem so obviously true — as is the case when it comes to whether the economic news is coming in better or worse than expected. Stock market history is filled with expectations that were guaranteed to happen but which did not.\nIt can be tedious plowing through huge databases to see if a pattern really exists. But it’s worth the effort. Though being statistically rigorous does not guarantee that you will beat the market, you most assuredly will lose to the market if you’re statistically sloppy and inconsistent.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":6,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":608253236,"gmtCreate":1638751592010,"gmtModify":1638751592397,"author":{"id":"3577965120664925","authorId":"3577965120664925","name":"SR050321","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6ad8f48d49f7392730c39c441b79e8f0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"The retail is chasing another to the moon 😅","listText":"The retail is chasing another to the moon 😅","text":"The retail is chasing another to the moon 😅","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":6,"commentSize":4,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/608253236","repostId":"2188576130","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"2188576130","pubTimestamp":1638750720,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/2188576130?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-12-06 08:32","market":"us","language":"en","title":"Facebook’s Stock Is On Sale, But the Retail Crowd Isn’t Buying","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=2188576130","media":"Bloomberg","summary":"(Bloomberg) -- Bargain hunters are no longer pouncing on skids in the shares of Facebook parent Meta","content":"
(Bloomberg) -- Bargain hunters are no longer pouncing on skids in the shares of Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc. the way they once did.
\n
The social media giant posted its worst week since June 2020 as investors fled riskier assets following a hawkish tilt by the Federal Reserve. Preorders for the iPhone 13 series have reportedly been stronger than that of the iPhone 12, which is probably the reason Apple has been ramping up production.
\n
According to a post on MacRumors.com, Apple is reportedly reducing the production of older iPhone models in a bid to increase the output of the iPhone 13 lineup and reduce the wait times customers are currently facing. All of this bodes well for Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ:SWKS) and Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ:CRUS), two component suppliers whose chips can be found inside the new iPhones. iPhone success could mean rising stock prices for both of these suppliers.
\n
\n
The iPhone 13 could supercharge Skyworks' growth
\n
Skyworks Solutions was a big beneficiary of the iPhone 12 lineup as Apple's first 5G smartphones triggered terrific growth in the company's top and bottom lines. The chipmaker's revenue for the first nine months of fiscal 2021 increased 58% year-over-year to $3.8 billion, while net income more than doubled to $1.17 billion.
\n
Apple produced 56% of Skyworks' revenue in fiscal 2020. And now, the iPhone 13 could keep driving impressive growth for the company as Apple has opted to use the company's front-end radio frequency (RF) modules in its new smartphones.
\n
Apple is packing more 5G bands into the iPhone 13 to drive adoption in more countries. The increase in 5G bands means that Apple will have to use more radio-frequency filters, which could lead to more revenue for Skyworks from each unit sold.
\n
Moreover, 5G smartphones are expected to use between 50 and 80 RF filters on an average as compared to 30 to 50 filters in a 4G device, which points toward a secular growth opportunity for Skyworks.
\n
Additionally, Apple is reportedly looking to manufacture 90 million units of the iPhone 13 models in 2021, which would be a 20% increase over the initial production run of the iPhone 12 in 2020. So, Skyworks should gain from a mix of higher volumes and content per unit.
\n
Cirrus Logic can step on the gas
\n
TechInsights also revealed that Cirrus Logic is supplying five chips for the new iPhones. The chipmaker is providing audio codecs, audio amplifiers, and a power conversion chip for the iPhone 13 lineup, which points toward an improvement over the iPhone 12 that used four Cirrus chips, all of which were related to audio.
\n
So, it seems like Cirrus may get more money out of each unit of the iPhone 13 lineup that Apple sells. This bodes well for the chipmaker as Apple is its largest customer, accounting for 72% of its revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2022. Just like Skyworks, the launch of the iPhone 12 gave Cirrus a big shot in the arm, and the new models can supercharge the chipmaker's fortunes.
\n
Not surprisingly, analysts expect Cirrus to turn in stronger growth this fiscal year. The company's revenue is expected to increase 15.6% in fiscal 2022, which would be a nice jump over fiscal 2021's year-over-year increase of just 7%. The good part is that Cirrus has already provided a solid indication of how the iPhone 13 is going to help it step on the gas.
\n
The company's revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2022 (which ended on June 26, 2021) increased 14% year-over-year to $277.3 million. For the second quarter, Cirrus forecasts $450 million in revenue at the midpoint of its guidance range. The company delivered $347.3 million in revenue in the year-ago quarter, which points toward a top-line jump of nearly 30% in Q2 of fiscal 2022.
\n
So, Cirrus can outpace Wall Street's estimates and deliver stronger-than-expected growth this year.
\n
Why you should consider buying these stocks
\n
Apple's first 5G smartphone, the iPhone 12, turned out to be a huge success as it gave an installed base of more than a billion iPhone users a strong reason to upgrade. Preorders for the iPhone 13 series have reportedly been stronger than that of the iPhone 12, which is probably the reason Apple has been ramping up production.\nAccording to a post on MacRumors.com, Apple is reportedly reducing the production of older iPhone models in a bid to increase the output of the iPhone 13 lineup and reduce the wait times customers are currently facing. All of this bodes well for Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ:SWKS) and Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ:CRUS), two component suppliers whose chips can be found inside the new iPhones. iPhone success could mean rising stock prices for both of these suppliers.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nThe iPhone 13 could supercharge Skyworks' growth\nSkyworks Solutions was a big beneficiary of the iPhone 12 lineup as Apple's first 5G smartphones triggered terrific growth in the company's top and bottom lines. The chipmaker's revenue for the first nine months of fiscal 2021 increased 58% year-over-year to $3.8 billion, while net income more than doubled to $1.17 billion.\nApple produced 56% of Skyworks' revenue in fiscal 2020. And now, the iPhone 13 could keep driving impressive growth for the company as Apple has opted to use the company's front-end radio frequency (RF) modules in its new smartphones.\nApple is packing more 5G bands into the iPhone 13 to drive adoption in more countries. The increase in 5G bands means that Apple will have to use more radio-frequency filters, which could lead to more revenue for Skyworks from each unit sold.\nMoreover, 5G smartphones are expected to use between 50 and 80 RF filters on an average as compared to 30 to 50 filters in a 4G device, which points toward a secular growth opportunity for Skyworks.\nAdditionally, Apple is reportedly looking to manufacture 90 million units of the iPhone 13 models in 2021, which would be a 20% increase over the initial production run of the iPhone 12 in 2020. So, Skyworks should gain from a mix of higher volumes and content per unit.\nCirrus Logic can step on the gas\nTechInsights also revealed that Cirrus Logic is supplying five chips for the new iPhones. The chipmaker is providing audio codecs, audio amplifiers, and a power conversion chip for the iPhone 13 lineup, which points toward an improvement over the iPhone 12 that used four Cirrus chips, all of which were related to audio.\nSo, it seems like Cirrus may get more money out of each unit of the iPhone 13 lineup that Apple sells. This bodes well for the chipmaker as Apple is its largest customer, accounting for 72% of its revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2022. Just like Skyworks, the launch of the iPhone 12 gave Cirrus a big shot in the arm, and the new models can supercharge the chipmaker's fortunes.\nNot surprisingly, analysts expect Cirrus to turn in stronger growth this fiscal year. The company's revenue is expected to increase 15.6% in fiscal 2022, which would be a nice jump over fiscal 2021's year-over-year increase of just 7%. The good part is that Cirrus has already provided a solid indication of how the iPhone 13 is going to help it step on the gas.\nThe company's revenue for the first quarter of fiscal 2022 (which ended on June 26, 2021) increased 14% year-over-year to $277.3 million. For the second quarter, Cirrus forecasts $450 million in revenue at the midpoint of its guidance range. The company delivered $347.3 million in revenue in the year-ago quarter, which points toward a top-line jump of nearly 30% in Q2 of fiscal 2022.\nSo, Cirrus can outpace Wall Street's estimates and deliver stronger-than-expected growth this year.\nWhy you should consider buying these stocks\nApple's first 5G smartphone, the iPhone 12, turned out to be a huge success as it gave an installed base of more than a billion iPhone users a strong reason to upgrade. The iPhone 13 should help Apple sustain the upgrade cycle as hundreds of millions of iPhone users are still without a 5G iPhone.\nAs such, Apple's iPhone sales momentum can remain robust for the next few years, putting Skyworks and Cirrus in a solid position to increase their revenue and earnings. That's why investors looking to buy a 5G stock right now should consider scooping up shares of these two chipmakers as they are trading at enticing valuations.\nCirrus Logic trades at 22 times trailing earnings and 15.6 times forward earnings, while Skyworks has a trailing price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 18.9 and a forward earnings multiple of 13.9. The S&P 500, for comparison, has a P/E ratio of 30.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":50,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":606372284,"gmtCreate":1638839186543,"gmtModify":1638839187382,"author":{"id":"3577965120664925","authorId":"3577965120664925","name":"SR050321","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/6ad8f48d49f7392730c39c441b79e8f0","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0},"themes":[],"htmlText":"<a Since fund managers are pegged to annual performance, they tend to \"hit that reset bar\" once the calendar turns, he said.\nOn the EV space in general, Munster predicted further upside for TSLA, even acknowledging the likelihood that the sector will see less enthusiasm in 2022.\nHe maintained his $2,500 price target for Musk's EV maker.\nHowever, Munster took a more cautious view of other players in the space. While Apple might look somewhat expensive at a price-to-earnings ratio of 27, analysts have been underestimating the iPhone maker for years. The stock has delivered multibagger returns over the last decade even though the brand was just as well known in 2011 as it is today.
\n
Wait times for the newest iPhones are reported to be the longest in at least four years at more than four weeks. While Wall Street tries to figure out whether it's genuine demand or supply shortages creating the delays, the only thing that matters is that the 5G upgrade cycle is definitely here, and it's going to lead to more revenue growth for Apple over the next few years.
\n
Apple started the year with an installed base of 1.65 billion devices worldwide, a new record. The introduction of 5G on the iPhone 12 drove strong revenue performance a year ago. Through the first three quarters of fiscal 2021 (through June), iPhone sales were up 37.5% year over year. The new iPhone 13 should pull in users that skipped last year's upgrade, especially once people get a look at the smoothness of the new screens on the Pro models.
\n
The iPhone is the flywheel product for Apple, since strong sales tend to spill over to other products and services. All said, Apple is looking at a profitable stretch of growth and is a good bet for investors.
\n
Micron Technology: A top provider of essential mobile hardware
\n
Micron is a leading supplier of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM), non-volatile memory (NAND), and NOR flash memory and storage products that are used in consumer PCs, data centers, and by some of the leading smartphone manufacturers. Long-term demand trends in the data center and 5G markets are driving a strong growth phase for the company, with revenue up 29% in fiscal 2021, which ended in September.
\n
Micron's mobile business unit grew 26% in fiscal 2021 and accounted for slightly more than a quarter of its total revenue. Management is anticipating another strong year of growth, as 5G phones contain significantly more memory capacity than 4G phones.
\n
Micron has supplied products for iPhones in the past, but a recent teardown of the iPhone 13 revealed that Apple chose to use chips from Micron competitors SK Hynix and Kioxia this time around. This isn't a problem for Micron, though, since the smartphone market is much bigger than Apple, with 5G smartphone sales expected to reach 500 million units this year.
\n
Given the growth Micron is seeing across the data center, mobile, automotive, and industrial markets, the stock looks particularly attractive at a forward P/E of just 7.2. Throw in a small quarterly dividend of $0.10 per share (yielding about 0.15% at the current stock price), and investors are looking at one cheap stock to invest in the 5G growth cycle.
\n
Zynga: A fast-growing mobile game producer
\n
It's not just hardware suppliers that will benefit from 5G. People who play mobile games will see significant benefits, such as faster downloads, from the technology and Zynga is the company behind several popular mobile games, including FarmVille, Merge Magic!, Empires & Puzzles, and Words With Friends. The stock has delivered a return of 150% over the last five years, and the era of 5G could significantly boost player engagement and growth for this company.
\n
Players using 5G devices will be able to download games with large file sizes much faster while away from their home Wi-Fi network, which could increase player engagement. 5G speeds will also bring major benefits to online multiplayer games, such as Zynga's CSR Racing. Overall, games will look better and play faster.
\n
Management estimates that investments in international growth, cross-platform play, launching hyper-casual games, and mobile advertising put the company's long-term addressable market at $240 billion. Zynga generated just $2.5 billion in revenue over the last four quarters, with second-quarter bookings up a robust 37% year over year.
\n
However, market participants are concerned about slowing growth in the near term, as Zynga numbers come up against high growth during the earlier days of the pandemic. As a result, the stock is down about 31% over the last few months. Given that mobile gaming is already the fastest-growing segment in the $175 billion video game industry, an investment in Zynga at the beginning of the 5G upgrade cycle could lead to stellar returns for investors over the next five years.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 5G Stocks to Buy in October
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 5G Stocks to Buy in October\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-10-15 21:08 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
The era of 5G is here, and there are several ways to invest behind the improvements that faster download speeds will bring smartphone users.\nHere's why I believe Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Micron Technology...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n","type":0,"thumbnail":"","relate_stocks":{"AAPL":"苹果","MU":"美光科技","ZNGA":"Zynga"},"source_url":"https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/10/15/3-5g-stocks-to-buy-in-october/","is_english":true,"share_image_url":"https://static.laohu8.com/e9f99090a1c2ed51c021029395664489","article_id":"2175117376","content_text":"The era of 5G is here, and there are several ways to invest behind the improvements that faster download speeds will bring smartphone users.\nHere's why I believe Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU), and Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA) are no-brainer buys right now.\nImage source: Getty Images.\nApple: The top brand benefiting from 5G upgrades\nApple is probably the safest stock to invest in 5G that still offers decent return potential.
