The passenger capacity, SIA reported, was at 32 per cent in September.\nThe group's VTL services will cover a total of 17 cities as Singapore has expanded the travel arrangement to another nine countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States. At that time, the TSLA stock price was moving up quickly, and the company enacted a 5-for-1share split on Aug. 31 of that year.
\n
As it turned out, neither the stock split nor the protests of the bears could slow down the bull market. That comes after eight weeks of gains, its longest winning streak since before the Covid-19 pandemic roiled markets. The rebound makes it the sixth-biggest publicly listed company in the U.S., firmly ahead of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
\n
“We believe an evolving green tidal wave will push shares of Tesla higher despite the near-term chip shortage with 3Q earnings this week another positive catalyst,” wrote Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives in a note from Sunday.
\n
Tesla shares have been steadily climbing in recent months, aided by strong quarterly results that showed the company fared much better than traditional carmakers in handling the semiconductor shortage. Deliveries for the third quarter beat all estimates.
\n
Telsa’s handling of the chip shortage even drew praise from one of its biggest competitors.
\n
“One example for the speed of Tesla: They handle the chip shortage very well – the reason: they are developing their own software,” said Herbert Diess, chairman of Volkswagen AG in a LinkedIn post. “Within just 2-3 weeks they had a new software which allows to use different chips. Impressive.”
\n
Tesla is set to report its third quarter earnings results on Oct. 20. It’s one of the very few global auto stocks to enjoy upward revisions in earnings estimates from analysts in the last one month, while most of the other automakers faced cuts due to the chip shortage.
\n
Valuation
\n
Still, some say Tesla’s trailblazing qualities in the EV race do not justify its valuation. The company is not only the biggest automaker in the world, its market capitalization of over $845 billion is much bigger than all of the top car companies put together. Critics say the company’s market capitalization also fails to reflect the wave of competing cars from legacy auto companies expected to hit the market starting next year.
\n
Competition is indeed heating up. After being on the sidelines for years, several major legacy auto companies have announced aggressive plans to build EVs and develop the required ecosystem that includes batteries and charging station networks.
\n
Bullish investors and analysts, on the other hand, say Tesla should not be compared to its auto peers at all. It is rather more like a technology company, and is correctly valued accordingly.
\n
Tesla shares currently trade at 120 times their 12-month forward earnings, making them the most expensive stock on the NYSE+ FANG Index, whose other nine members include Nvidia Corp., Alphabet Inc., Apple Inc., Twitter Inc., Facebook Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Netflix Inc., Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and Baidu Inc.
\n
Despite a big push from legacy automakers across the globe to develop electric vehicles, and the emergence of several new players, Tesla has still managed to maintain its dominance in the space, producing some of the best-selling EVs globally: Model 3 and Model Y.
\n
“Taking a step back, with the chip shortage a major overhang on the auto space and logistical issues globally, these delivery numbers combined with this week’s likely earnings beat speaks to an EV demand trajectory that looks quite robust for Tesla heading into 4Q and 2022,” Ives wrote.
","source":"lsy1584095487587","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; That comes after eight weeks of gains, its longest winning streak since before the Covid-19 pandemic roiled markets. The rebound makes it the sixth-biggest publicly listed company in the U.S., firmly ahead of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.\n“We believe an evolving green tidal wave will push shares of Tesla higher despite the near-term chip shortage with 3Q earnings this week another positive catalyst,” wrote Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives in a note from Sunday.\nTesla shares have been steadily climbing in recent months, aided by strong quarterly results that showed the company fared much better than traditional carmakers in handling the semiconductor shortage. Deliveries for the third quarter beat all estimates.\nTelsa’s handling of the chip shortage even drew praise from one of its biggest competitors.\n“One example for the speed of Tesla: They handle the chip shortage very well – the reason: they are developing their own software,” said Herbert Diess, chairman of Volkswagen AG in a LinkedIn post. “Within just 2-3 weeks they had a new software which allows to use different chips. Impressive.”\nTesla is set to report its third quarter earnings results on Oct. 20. It’s one of the very few global auto stocks to enjoy upward revisions in earnings estimates from analysts in the last one month, while most of the other automakers faced cuts due to the chip shortage.\nValuation\nStill, some say Tesla’s trailblazing qualities in the EV race do not justify its valuation. The company is not only the biggest automaker in the world, its market capitalization of over $845 billion is much bigger than all of the top car companies put together. Critics say the company’s market capitalization also fails to reflect the wave of competing cars from legacy auto companies expected to hit the market starting next year.\nCompetition is indeed heating up. After being on the sidelines for years, several major legacy auto companies have announced aggressive plans to build EVs and develop the required ecosystem that includes batteries and charging station networks.\nBullish investors and analysts, on the other hand, say Tesla should not be compared to its auto peers at all. It is rather more like a technology company, and is correctly valued accordingly.\nTesla shares currently trade at 120 times their 12-month forward earnings, making them the most expensive stock on the NYSE+ FANG Index, whose other nine members include Nvidia Corp., Alphabet Inc., Apple Inc., Twitter Inc., Facebook Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Netflix Inc., Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and Baidu Inc.\nDespite a big push from legacy automakers across the globe to develop electric vehicles, and the emergence of several new players, Tesla has still managed to maintain its dominance in the space, producing some of the best-selling EVs globally: Model 3 and Model Y.\n“Taking a step back, with the chip shortage a major overhang on the auto space and logistical issues globally, these delivery numbers combined with this week’s likely earnings beat speaks to an EV demand trajectory that looks quite robust for Tesla heading into 4Q and 2022,” Ives wrote.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":578,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":826669141,"gmtCreate":1634014028239,"gmtModify":1634014028239,"author":{"id":"3586937187491404","authorId":"3586937187491404","name":"Rashamon96","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c800b60e9a6b67f29f6a9438054010ae","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"Pls bring us to the moon. 😀","listText":"Pls bring us to the moon. 😀","text":"Pls bring us to the moon. 😀","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":3,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/826669141","repostId":"1190239946","repostType":4,"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":459,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":827652816,"gmtCreate":1634467528535,"gmtModify":1634467528710,"author":{"id":"3586937187491404","authorId":"3586937187491404","name":"Rashamon96","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c800b60e9a6b67f29f6a9438054010ae","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"We can travel again. 😃","listText":"We can travel again. 😃","text":"We can travel again. 😃","images":[],"top":1,"highlighted":1,"essential":1,"paper":1,"likeSize":2,"commentSize":0,"repostSize":0,"link":"https://laohu8.com/post/827652816","repostId":"1176348685","repostType":4,"repost":{"id":"1176348685","pubTimestamp":1634295611,"share":"https://www.laohu8.com/m/news/1176348685?lang=&edition=full","pubTime":"2021-10-15 19:00","market":"sg","language":"en","title":"SIA reports moderate uptick in Sept passenger traffic on Vaccinated Travel Lane tailwind","url":"https://stock-news.laohu8.com/highlight/detail?id=1176348685","media":"businesstimes","summary":"THE vaccinated travel lane (VTL) arrangement has helped lift demand for Singapore Airlines (SIA), as","content":"
\n
THE vaccinated travel lane (VTL) arrangement has helped lift demand for Singapore Airlines (SIA), as the designated carrier for the quarantine-free travel arrangement reported an uptick in passenger ...
\n\nWeb Link\n\n
\n","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n<meta http-equiv=\"Content-Type\" content=\"text/html; The passenger capacity, SIA reported, was at 32 per cent in September.\nThe group's VTL services will cover a total of 17 cities as Singapore has expanded the travel arrangement to another nine countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States. SIA will put its A380s on the flights to London from Nov 18.\nIn addition, SIA stated that it will add transpacific and transatlantic services with the resumption of Frankfurt-New York and Hong-Kong-San Francisco flights from early November.\nScoot, the low-cost carrier in the mainboard-listed airline group, will resume services to Phuket, Thailand and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in October.\nSIA shares closed flat at S$5.55 on Oct 15.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":414,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0},{"id":855198952,"gmtCreate":1635342094194,"gmtModify":1635342360328,"author":{"id":"3586937187491404","authorId":"3586937187491404","name":"Rashamon96","avatar":"https://static.tigerbbs.com/c800b60e9a6b67f29f6a9438054010ae","crmLevel":2,"crmLevelSwitch":0,"followedFlag":false},"themes":[],"htmlText":"My forever favorite brand. Consider that over the last five years, the two best-performing non-leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were her ARK Next Generation Internet ETF and ARK Innovation ETF. And her ARK Genomic Revolution ETF came in at No. 5.
\n
The kinds of stocks that Wood likes aren't for everyone. They're often high-risk, potentially high-reward plays that are suitable only for aggressive investors. If you don't mind taking on considerable risk, here are three stocks Wood is buying that you might want to consider too.
\n
1. Beam Therapeutics
\n
Both the ARK Innovation ETF and ARK Genomic Revolution ETF have scooped up more shares of Beam Therapeutics (NASDAQ:BEAM) in October. The biotech stock is only one spot away from jumping into the top 10 holdings for the ARKG ETF.
\n
Beam specialized in base editing. It's a type of gene editing that enables pinpoint rewriting of a specific letter in the genome. And Beam's approach could prove to be more important over the long run than other types of gene editing.
\n
The company doesn't have any candidates in clinical testing yet. That could change relatively soon, though, with Beam on track to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application within the next couple of months for BEAM-101 in treating rare blood disorders beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease.
\n
Beam's market cap stands above $6 billion. That's a quite lofty valuation for a preclinical-stage biotech. However, if the company's base editing works in one indication, it could potentially be applied in many other indications. Wood obviously thinks the chances that will happen are worth placing a major bet on Beam Therapeutics.
\n
2. CRISPR Therapeutics
\n
Beam Therapeutics isn't the only gene-editing stock that Wood likes these days. Her ARK Innovation ETF and ARK Genomic Revolution ETF have also added to their positions in CRISPR Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CRSP) in recent weeks.
\n
CRISPR Therapeutics could become the first biotech focused on CRISPR gene editing to have a shot at getting a product on the market. The company and its partner Vertex Pharmaceuticals hope to file for regulatory approvals of CTX001 in 2023. CTX001 is a CRISPR gene-editing therapy targeting beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease.
\n
Some investors were disappointed with the durability of response in CRISPR Therapeutics' phase 1 data for its off-the-shelf chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy CTX110. However, the day after those results were announced, Wood chose to buy more shares of the stock at a discount.
\n
CRISPR Therapeutics' market cap of over $7 billion might be hard to swallow for cautious investors. But with the prospects of potentially launching its first product in 2024 and a still-promising pipeline of gene-editing therapies, the company could become a big player in healthcare over the long run.
\n
3. Teladoc Health
\n
There's no question that Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC) remains one of Wood's favorite stocks. So far in October, three of her ARK ETFs have bought additional Teladoc shares. Teladoc ranks as the top holding of the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF. It's the second-largest position in the ARK Innovation ETF. The telehealth stock is even in the top 10 for the ARK Fintech Innovation ETF.
\n
Some investors have soured on Teladoc this year due to concerns about slowing membership growth. However, the company continues to perform well overall. Visits have risen. Revenue per member per month is up. Utilization rates are climbing.
\n
On the other hand, Wall Street hasn't given up on the stock. Analysts think that Teladoc could soar close to 40% over the next 12 months. This optimism about Teladoc from both Wood and Wall Street centers on the company's long-term prospects.
\n
The virtual care market remains only in its early stages. Teladoc is the clear leader in the market. It also continues to launch new products and services that provide further competitive advantages. Of these three stocks being bought by Wood recently, Teladoc is the least risky while still offering strong growth prospects.
","source":"fool_stock","collect":0,"html":"\n
\n
\n\n\n\n
3 Stocks Cathie Wood Is Buying That You Might Want to Consider Too
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n3 Stocks Cathie Wood Is Buying That You Might Want to Consider Too\n
\n\n
\n\n\n2021-10-26 20:19 GMT+8 Motley Fool\n\n\n
\n\n
\n
\n
\n
How successful of an investor is Cathie Wood? That could change relatively soon, though, with Beam on track to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application within the next couple of months for BEAM-101 in treating rare blood disorders beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease.\nBeam's market cap stands above $6 billion. That's a quite lofty valuation for a preclinical-stage biotech. However, if the company's base editing works in one indication, it could potentially be applied in many other indications. Wood obviously thinks the chances that will happen are worth placing a major bet on Beam Therapeutics.\n2. CRISPR Therapeutics\nBeam Therapeutics isn't the only gene-editing stock that Wood likes these days. Her ARK Innovation ETF and ARK Genomic Revolution ETF have also added to their positions in CRISPR Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CRSP) in recent weeks.\nCRISPR Therapeutics could become the first biotech focused on CRISPR gene editing to have a shot at getting a product on the market. The company and its partner Vertex Pharmaceuticals hope to file for regulatory approvals of CTX001 in 2023. CTX001 is a CRISPR gene-editing therapy targeting beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease.\nSome investors were disappointed with the durability of response in CRISPR Therapeutics' phase 1 data for its off-the-shelf chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy CTX110. However, the day after those results were announced, Wood chose to buy more shares of the stock at a discount.\nCRISPR Therapeutics' market cap of over $7 billion might be hard to swallow for cautious investors. But with the prospects of potentially launching its first product in 2024 and a still-promising pipeline of gene-editing therapies, the company could become a big player in healthcare over the long run.\n3. Teladoc Health\nThere's no question that Teladoc Health (NYSE:TDOC) remains one of Wood's favorite stocks. So far in October, three of her ARK ETFs have bought additional Teladoc shares. Teladoc ranks as the top holding of the ARK Genomic Revolution ETF. It's the second-largest position in the ARK Innovation ETF. The telehealth stock is even in the top 10 for the ARK Fintech Innovation ETF.\nSome investors have soured on Teladoc this year due to concerns about slowing membership growth. However, the company continues to perform well overall. Visits have risen. Revenue per member per month is up. Utilization rates are climbing.\nOn the other hand, Wall Street hasn't given up on the stock. Analysts think that Teladoc could soar close to 40% over the next 12 months. This optimism about Teladoc from both Wood and Wall Street centers on the company's long-term prospects.\nThe virtual care market remains only in its early stages. Teladoc is the clear leader in the market. It also continues to launch new products and services that provide further competitive advantages. Of these three stocks being bought by Wood recently, Teladoc is the least risky while still offering strong growth prospects.","news_type":1},"isVote":1,"tweetType":1,"viewCount":402,"authorTweetTopStatus":1,"verified":2,"comments":[],"imageCount":0,"langContent":"CN","totalScore":0}],"lives":[]}
