- Passengers flying on Singapore Airlines (SIA) or low-cost carrier Scoot from Friday (June 25) will be able to offset their share of the flight's carbon emissions by contributing to environmental projects in Indonesia, India, and Nepal.\nThey will be able to do so by buying carbon offsets from dedicated microsites before or after a flight.\nThis is part of a voluntary programme launched by SIA Group on Friday, which will enable customers across the group's passenger and cargo airlines to offset their carbon emissions.\nThe microsite for SIA Cargo customers will be available from next month, and corporate customers will be able to participate in the programme from the fourth quarter of this year.\nSIA and Scoot will match the offsets that their passengers buy for six months after the programme's launch.\nFrom the fourth quarter of this year, passengers will also be able to use their KrisFlyer miles and HighFlyer points to buy carbon offsets.\nSIA's senior vice-president for corporate planning, Ms Lee Wen Fen, said: \"Our customers now have an opportunity to offset their emissions through accredited projects that provide clear benefits to people and the planet. Matching their offsets is our way of encouraging our customers to fly carbon neutral.\"\nThe carbon offset programme is part of SIA Group's commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.\nIt has partnered with Australian carbon offset provider, Tasman Environmental Markets, to enable passengers to instantly calculate and offset their share of carbon emissions.\nFor instance, a passenger on a return trip between Singapore and Hong Kong will pay $5.40 to offset 415kg of CO2 emitted from his journey.\nThe offsets purchased will go towards projects that reduce future emissions.\nSIA Group said it selected high-quality carbon offset projects that have a \"proven and measurable impact\". It has eight franchises that have generated $1 billion in lifetime bookings. It has a large player base of over 400 million monthly active users, and management has a great record of allocating capital through acquisitions that create shareholder returns. Still, analysts expect Take-Two to expand its margin by a greater amount, which could lead to better returns for investors.</p>\n<h2>Take-Two stock is cheaper with more upside</h2>\n<p>Activision should remain a good long-term investment. Management believes it can reach 1 billion monthly active users, as the company expands its mobile game business. But investors are paying a higher price for Activision's greater game diversity, and perceived lower business risk.</p>\n<p>Activision stock trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 8.5, which is much higher than Take-Two's sales multiple of 6. But as Take-Two expands its game catalog, this relatively lower sales multiple won't be justified.</p>\n<p>Take-Two's <i>Grand Theft Auto V</i> and <i>Red Dead Redemption 2</i> have sold a combined 182 million copies, establishing a large player base to build on with future releases. Take-Two's Grand Theft Auto V has sold a staggering 145 million copies, which has pushed the company's bookings to over $3 billion.\nI'll say up front that I believe Take-Two is well-positioned to deliver much better returns than Activision Blizzard over the next five years.
